Savage has for a long time been the go to for inexpensive accuracy. The 110 line set the standard for quality off the shelf trigger units. Just remembered that back in the 90's i bought some remington 200 gr. safari grade swift A frame ammo for my .300 win mag. I wonder id remington made that load in a .300 wsm. Honestly it was a huge overkill with extra recoil but i got pin point accuracy with it from my Weatherby/leaupold set up.
Channel gets better and better! Love all big caliber Rifles and revolvers. Brother 300 Win SM is a great round and barely slower than 300 Win mag and almost same power. Sweet!👌🤠🦖
Picked up a savage 110 left hand 300 wsm with a bull barrel and beautiful wood stock for my wife last year. She got tired of the 30-06 not being able to reach out as flat as the rest of our groups 300 win. That 300 wsm is a shooter
Hey mate...greetings from Australia. Big fan of your channel and really appreciate the effort you put in to pushing out a video per day. Right behind you in believing that precision and accuracy are worthy aspirations. Have had my eye on .300 WSM for a little while now and this vid (no doubt Pt II as well) provided useful insight. Thanks again...
You have got to be happy with those results. I know I would . I want to get a CVA cascade long range hunter in 7mm rem mag but I might be having second thoughts . You certainly are getting fantastic results with your 2 savage 110 trail hunters ! Enjoyed the video 👍
I bought the Remington 700 in the 300WSM when it was called the Elk Edition, this was approximately back in 2008 . Barns use to produce the MRX bullet which was in my opinion the Best Bullet ever designed. Being 74 years old and reloading since I was 12 years old, with the old Lee reloading kit, there was no press all you got was a sizing tube and a shaft that allowed you to push the wads or bullet after you would scoop of powder- it was the simplest possible system.
I was waiting for you to drop these videos before I bought one, but I went ahead and ordered yesterday because I didnt think there would be an issue. Glad I did. Looking forward to it getting in.
My brother and I discuss your videos regularly. This one in particular…you’ve cost me…AGAIN!!! 😂 Im about to order the 300wsm. I bought the same in 7PRC…will pickup tomorrow (1/9). Anxiously awaiting BOTH!!
@@edwardabrams4972 many 300 mags I am sure are accurate at long range if done by a Highly skilled gunsmith using quality barrels and actions and the 300 Wby mag for the Pennsylvania long range shooting club has been a favorite for 1000-yard shoots. So, saying one 300 kind of magnum is better than the other wouldn't be true.
Howdy from SoDak WTW and Halfmilesniper. Hard to beat the 300 wsm. Great caliber. Have had one for the last 23 years. Super accurate and have taken alot of critters with it too.
Heavy barrel Savage riffles are a shoe in if you spend the money & get the long range ELD-X-M or other. If you haven't tried the Savage Desert TAC. in 6mm creed then you are missing out. love the vids man Keep em going
I have a browning x-bolt 300wsm and I hand load for it also. The 300wsm excels with 150 and 165 grain bullets. Accubonds shoot 1 hole! The 300wsm does it all!
Yes, the 300 WSM is a wonderful 30 magnum but there are larger ones that are even faster. I have owned the 300 win mag then a Rem 700 in 300 RUM and then went to using 300 Weatherby magnum rifles which I own a custom Mauser 98 in 300 Wby mag and a Weatherby mark 5 in 300 Wby mag that just got a new 27-inch Pac Nor SS super match barrel.
That’s absolutely fantastic Adam. Makes me smile too. Especially since 300 WSM is one of my favorite cartridges and Savage has been the only rifles I’ve owned which sadly is only 3. As you know from my comments on your last video and on IG, if it were available in left hand I would buy it in a heartbeat and sell my right handed Savage Long Range Hunter, because I want one that is threaded but accurate. If you have an elk hunt you should definitely take this exact rifle 😎🇺🇸
This was a really good comparison through that great shooting rifle. The WSM certainly has my attention. I really enjoyed this particular ammo selection. Occasionally that "Federal Blue Box" will really surprise me. (Just not in this test today 😂)
Hey bro ..I just wanted to say that I have 3 Browning’s in 300 WSM ..my first one was the BLR AND 2 are x bolt one is the speed and the other is the mountain pro and 3 types of ammo do awesome, the Remington core lokt tipped Than Norma bondstrike and tip strike .. but that rifle savage you got there is just as good as my most expensive x bolt that paid 3500 Canadian.. Keep up the good job bro
That's impressive. I've given up on Savages since their quality has gone way down (Swiss cheese bores from end to end) but that is the kind of accuracy that Savage routinely had 10 to 15 years ago.
I’ve got a Winchester model 70 in 270 WSM that my brother in law won in a raffle years ago…. No sights drilled n tapped but no scope ever mounted still has the tag hangin on the trigger guard
I really like the 270 WSM I also have one and it is a good shooter biggest problem is finding ammunition and brass for it I have made some brass up by running the 300 WSM brass through the 270 WSM dies
I just checked and I think you are right about Federal no longer producing 150gr Fusion for the 300wsm. They are still producing the Fusion in both 165gr and 180gr, though.
I have a Savage 111 in 300 Win Mag and it loves the Remington Scirroco. My problem is that it is almost impossible to find that ammunition anymore. Luckily I stocked up when I could find it.
The 7mm WSM is one of my favorite rifles. The WSM series is still very relevant in today's crowded cartridge world. I've never owned the 300 variant, but I'm sure it's to the 300 Win Mag what the 7mm is to the Rem Mag. I'd have to say, though, my 284 Winchester can do 90%+ what the 7 Mag can do with a shorter barrel, lighter recoil, less muzzle blast, and generally speaking more accurately.
Here where I live 300 WSM factory ammo is approx $3 per round. If you are a hunter who only fires one or two rounds no problem, but in a 40 round competition, you have to reload or go broke.
Love it that thing is a absolute shooter, my 6.5 prc likes the fusion stuff I reload but the 143 hornady is lights out. I live in middle TN about 60 miles west of Nashville you should come over sometime and we'll wack some deer. I pray that y'all have a blessed weekend
I have 3 and 2 don't shoot for shit yet. Well my 25-06 does with only one kind of ammo out of the 5 I tried but the bolt is awful. My 7 prc is terrible sprays bullets in groups no better than 2.5-3.5 inches. I just bought weatherby select plus 177 grain hammer custom ammo for it. $90 a box. If that doesn't work savage can have it back and figure out the issue. My 30-06 is around 12 years old and it's a tack driver though I'll give it that. Used to have a savage 111 in 300 win mag too that was also about 12 years old and it shot great. So seems like the new ones aren't that great. At least to me
You have much improved in accuracy since your days of missing a 12' gong from 10'away with your EDC 9mm unto now regularly shooting half inch groups with anything.
I use the 150g fusion in my tikka t3, 300WSM. Didn't know it's discontinued 😮 Anyhoot, I get the same groups as you did with the 150g & 180g Federals. I'll hafta try the Remington. Thanks for the good info.

I haven't seen you try a tikka. I know you are more towards budget hunters, but mine is the first rifle I bought and was worth it out the box. Before I used an M77 in 30-06 which I still use in the thick brush as it's paired with a 60s fixed magnification Leupold. But my tikka in 300wsm is what I use for mostly everything as whatever it hits won't go more than 30 yards. Funny enough it loves the scirocco ammo as well. I thought about upgrading the stock and trigger, but it just doesn't need it for the shots I would be taking as it is accurate enough at 100 yards.
@@WHOTEEWHO I understand that owning the 300wsm. I actually thought about bringing it to a shop to have it done so I can put a muzzle on it. It's an older t3 model with a wood stock so it still takes a good amount of recoil out.

I have a model 70 super grade in the 300 WSM and it does kick darn hard it shoots perty good but I have to use my past shoulder pad otherwise with being on blood thinners after having a a heartache it leaves my shoulder and arm bruised up
You're exactly right, I love seeing budget rifles with factory ammo getting sub moa groups! That Savage TH is impressive.

Savage rocks!!! One of my favorite brands of rifles!!
Purdy dang impressive for 300 WSM that a working man could own.
300 WSM is my favorite of the short mags. The 325 WSM is next favorite one. Ain't nothing wrong with a Savage.
Great to see the scope height right where it should be over your other videos 👍🏻 keep up the great work!
