    I’ve watched so many transmission rebuild videos. This is something I have never seen mentioned. Thanks!

    Oh man, I had my trans apart for an extra few weeks tracking down different thickness snap rings and friction plates to get all my clearances right after adding clutch disks lol. But we learned a ton.

    I wish I'd have seen this before I built my 4R100 last winter. Good info.

    Putting thin frictions or thin steels in the direct is a step backwards, thermal capacity goes out the window with them.thin. in that situation i get a 48 direct/forward drum and do atleast 5 x 5 all thick. I prefer not to machine the reaction plate if possible because thats the heat sync of the clutch pack, machined ones warp pretty easily. The bigger seal for the inside of the direct is a must.

      @@JCSDieselPerformance I went an entire season at 1200-1500hp on 7 thins frictions and steels with a billet machined plate. Most 650hp guys aren't buying a new drum so we do the 6 clutch set up with as many thicks as allowed. I've slipped 6 thicks in the direct many times, haven't killed a 7 clutch set up yet.

    I have a 06 48re. Recently put all billet shafts, high pressure valve body from Randys, triple disk convertor, billet servos. Also an anteater Pro with static TV lever. Having an issue with either not shifting into 3rd at all or will shift to 3rd just fine but will drop 3rd to 2nd randomly while just cruising. After it does it once or twice it wont happen again until it sits for a while. Randys doesn't answer the phone and firepunk tuning changes doesn't help. Have you ever seen this before? Bands are good. Gov pressure act/des match and line pressure is 180psi.

      Play with the modifier level in the ant eater

      @lilredsled 3 дні тому

      @horsetorquesdiesel I did. Anything under 60 on the modifier it won't shift to 2nd.
