  • It's a couple of weeks old and the actual dam itself is still closed off but I went along to check out the new bridge and put it through its paces.

Work has one of those mini diggers... They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun. We've got a drill for it... It's currently at a friends place and we've been putting in a crib wall and making a big yard out of his multi small terraced yard. (And we popped his mum on it at his last house...
Dad wanted 2 things.... a convertible Mercedes with the corrugated side panels (I got him a model)... and an empty yard, with a pile of dirt... and one of those little diggers..
(He was a 70yo schoolboy at heart).
Love that track. The brother of the wife of my mate with the digger (no too much of a stretch there) had a house in Korokoro so we would often do the Damn circuit (that's the Dam circuit but when someone has a leg injury)

I've never ridden my bike around there (only further up in the Belmont MTB park) but I've done heaps of running and yes, it's really lovely! I was surprised they left the digger unguarded with no signs (though I was still nearly caught faffing around by a runner who came past 30 seconds after I hopped off!).

@@trailbogan Not sure it's a bike friendly track but the trig above, down to the highway was a great ride years ago on my ol Steel framed, Cantilever braked, hard tail Milazo.. the ride from Petone up Dowse Dr almost all the way to Stratton Street Bike Park, then up to Belmont Trig...
