Checked out your video. Looks like you made a great purchase. I have a worn out commercial Toro zero turn mower with a crapped out Kawasaki engine that has been replaced with a new Toro Zero Turn mower with the new suspension system. I plan on using the old one with the deck removed to pull a Lawn Broom to collect grass for my compost pile. I plan on rebuilding the engine myself. I have no experience with rebuilding engines but have a detached 30 X 36 FT workshop to work in and am not afraid of getting my hands dirty. My situation is I need to remove the engine to work on it so that is why I was watching your video to see what problems I might run into. Mine had the separate solenoid wiring to the starter and I had taken pictures before I unhooked it. If I would have seen your video 7 months ago I might have been able to help you with the wiring but you figured it out. Anyway I enjoyed your video and I think that it helped me out. I will just have to take my time and figure things out like you did. Thanks for posting.
eyesalooking I got lucky considering everything else was ok with the mower. Gonna need a pto clutch soon but no biggie. Sounds like you got thing figured out. It’s not that hard. I’m not a master mechanic by any stretch of the imagination. You’ll be good. Thanks for watching.
Nice looking Scags. I just picked up a Toro Z Master with vac system. The 27hp Kawasaki is ticking. I’ve adjusted the rockers which I understand can get noisy. Seems to have quieted it a touch but definitely still there. I’m hoping it’s not something major. I do like the Kawasaki’s though. My Exmark Lazer has a 27hp Kohler. I’ve considered Scag but even used they’re big money.
I have the same 2 Scags as you. Got the cub 48 used and boy was that a mistake. The 52 cat was new and did great till it slung a rod though the case. I’m about to get a new engine and I was just looking at UA-cam to see if anyone might have a had the same issue. The Kawasaki 22 horse didn’t last but just over 3 years. I’m hoping the new one will be “better”? Thanks for posting.
woo hoo!!! pretty new mower motor. I have been thinking of switching over to Scag, mainly because I like the dealer, just don't see a lot of them being used here so not sure how well they cut I our grass type. I wish I would have held on to my quad, I used to love playing on that thing. I had a Polaris sportsman 500 thing was a beast.
Chuck B's Lawn Care yes sir the new motor is literally brand new. I like Scag for the short time I’ve been using them. A lot of guys around here run exmark also. I don’t get time to ride as much as I’d like but it’s useful around the house for splitting wood etc.
Nice video I have a 2007 tiger cub with a 19 Kawasaki 500 hours blown 3 head gaskets already thinking changing motors tired of the blown head gaskets. What does a new motor cost approx. thanks for the video!
I have a cub 48 with kawasaki fh 601 19 horse, can I put a fx 691v on it? Is it the same crank shaft size? Will the clutch fit? Thanks for your video!!! Happy new years!!!
You said you were home alone ;-) How did you get the engine up and out? We are an older couple and are pulling out the dead B&S 25 hp out of our Ferris in the process of rebuilding or replacing it and are wondering what to grab or hook on to to remove it (when we get all the preliminary stuff disconnected etc.)? Thanks.
I have a 52 inch liquid cooled Scag Wildcat I am having to replace a worn out Kawasaki engine on. I am going back with an air cooled Kawasaki engine. What kinda things you think I will need to address going from water cooled to air cooled. Thanks.
Did you ever go over that kawi motor? Could be something simple like needing a new head. I have the same mower, have had it for 8 years now. 600 hours.
Hello, hey where did you get your engine? I have the Stand on version mower,I got it for 500 bucks, one of the valves got stuck and destroyed the head and put some dents in the piston,I think is worth putting a new engine.
panchovillaxx7 as long as the wheel motors and hydros are decent then I’d agree. I can’t remember. I honestly bought the cheapest one I could find in the internet. Maybe small engine warehouse?
Hey man question I have a 61in scag wildcat similar to yours, the other day I go to mow with it turn blades on it made a sound and turned off now won't do nothing but turn sounds like it won't fire at all or has any compression checked oil it was low and checked spark plugs they was fine what are you thinking I could do to it?
Matt Wilkerson how may hours on it? The sound came from the engine? If compression is low or none that’s a bad sign. Could be anything internal which means $$$ Might have roasted the engine.

Dan's Lawn Care you can get in a decent one around here for about $3k. Right about where Toro or Exmark are honestly. May be different in your area.
I think kawis just tick. Mine does and has been for awhile. You can adjust the valves but it will come back.

sammylw7694 I just sold that cub and got a 52 V. For your sake I hope so also! That’s not nearly long enough

What was the starting problem? Great video!!! THANKS!!!
Old engine had a hole in the case. Blown way up.

searay3400 that doesn’t sound right... I’d put a 730v on it. Go bigger if you’re changing out. Not much price difference. I can’t remember 1500 range
Thanks talked to a shop today probably go with 22.5hp Kawasaki he said they might be able to fit a 24-26hp so we will see..

Good video!° what was the problem with the starter not starting?
I have a feeling it was him hooking up the starter solenoid when it already had a starter solenoid on the new engine.

2ManyJALS yea. Picked it up like a bear hug and moved it 🤷🏼♂️ try some sort of hoist?

Derek Bushnell I have no experience with that. Sorry I can offer no help.

What’s the price on the new engine
Was about $1,600 probably close to 2k now
Did you get the kamasaki that was made in China or the one that was made in the United States. One is better than the other
