Like all forms of damage, there are actually ways to completely or partially bypass kinetic damage. Although hinge armor is usually better due to providing normal protection against other forms of damage, some blocks like the party balloon are completely invulnerable to kinetic damage. Wheels are also invunerable to kinetic damage, but due to their abnormal hitboxes it is quite easy to destroy the block connected to them with kinetic damage.

I actually didint know that a pile of snow could be so deadly. I guess if you make a a snowball 2 meters in diameter go 600kph irl it would do some serious damage. And I find most of your tutorials very useful, including this one. Keep it up!

So scrap man actually (for what reason we don’t know) tested the speed of the rocket and it flies at like 177.1 or something MPH which i find is kinda slow visually but fast otherwise

This should work with any weapon, including bomb bays, you can even launch your own projectiles using this and/or magnets to make a railgun too, one way to protect against these kinds of kinetic weapons is to use magnets to repulse them away, ive also had my friend's kinetic rods be deflected by sloped armor
This is all correct. For magnet railguns I did make my own type of ammo that isn’t just a rod 🤣. It’s armor piercing, gets through 6 hull blocks before running out of energy. And it’s small so I have a 16 round mag but the magnet shields def work for blocks, but sadly not bullets 😅
I love it when you say something is difficult to put on a plane bc I immediately take it as a challenge and end up putting it on a plane and learning something along the way. I now have a plane with both this and a stealth drive, it not easy to fly with both active at once but definitely possible.

If you want armor, particularly against explosives, use 2x1 shields, and heavy blocks.
As an alternative 1x1 pipes grouped up maybe good armor too.
1x1 pipes and 2x4 blocks have the same health. It's better to use smaller blocks
As for the heavy blocks they do in fact have more health, including rounded

Ive stacked up to what i call a level 4 piston railgun. Four stacks. Very stable and repeatable. It just takes some clever geometry to maximize rigidity and minimize weld groups
Yes that’s very true. A while after I made this video I focused more on these railguns and found new more reliable ways to make these railguns level 4-6. So great job g

Storm I have three words for you, piston accelerated rocket
From my experience is you can have weapons with tracking but the game doesn’t register the speed increase from the pistons which leads to missing at further ranges

There are much more powerful railguns that I did not test in this video.. but none that I know of go 7600 mph

@ProjectSTORM-qb4cn the problem is that I used blocks, and when they go that fast they don't always break. I just used magnates. The type of ammo you use and it's length is the reason it has that speed.
@@rykerhippen9983 the problem with that is when you propel blocks at that speed with magnets is they lose they’re hit registration, meaning they phase through blocks and terrain. That type of weapon is sadly not very applicable. I’ve made them too and I’d say it’s pretty much only good for showing off 🤣
