    Picked up 100 of the 007 Viton o-rings on Amazon for $10. Thanks for the great video, my pump is back in operation!

    I just did this after watching this... It was a tad confusing but it worked! My factory pump was stuck together hard. Very tough to get it apart.

    To get the lower bolt off the mid cylinder I use Theraband tightly wrapped around the mid cylinder to get a good grip while making it a little thicker to give you the edge while holding it by hand .... a wrench on the bolt and with a bit of a struggle it comes loose.

    The black that comes off some parts is normal wear of the metal and the seals if there was no wear the seals would last for ever. If blacking is excessive inspect for minor flaws in what should be perfectly finished sealing surfaces. Any microscopic scratches will wear the seals out very fast. The air going into the pump usually carries fine dust with it and will over time wear things out.

    Plastic washers at 13 min. I made my replacements out of a 2 liter plastic bottle.

    Great video. I am replacing my seals once I get the o ring grease. My pump locks after 2-4 pumps.

    Go to the dollar store. Get some drawer liners. They are some sort of rubber. Looks woven, but that's just the way it's formed. Those will give you super grip on the tubes. You might not even need the channel locks.

    That 010 oring you mention at 12:20 and 22:35 was below the two plastic washers on my pump when I took it apart today. Other than that really nice illustration.

    The position and condition of the o-ring backup rings is important to the life of the o-rings.

    I plan on using this on my marauder, so how often do I have to do the o ring repair? How does this pump compare to hill mk4? Thanks for the great video!

    MA È POSSIBILE CHE IL MANOMETRO SI INTASI?PERCHÉ QUANDO POMPO NON ESCE ARIA,E LA POMPA E SUPER PULITA,QUANDO MONTO IL MANOMETRO, L'ARIA RIMANE NELLA CAMERA, E NON FUORIESCE, QUALCUNO SA DARMI QUALCHE SUGGERIMENTO, GRAZZIE.

    Are you talking about butadiene o rings?

    Evan ... would you have the specs for the white 007 o ring that goes right next to the viton 007 ... I'm thinking that it is polyurethane and probably Duro 90. It looked like you had a split plastic o ring in there instead of the polyurethane one ... talked with Duane at Sun Optics USA the other day and said that they are now going with the new and improved polyurethane as it seems that it holds up a little better ... also said they were going with Nuvair 455 as the lubricant instead of silicon grease. You can buy it on line from Nuvair ... get a quart bottle and it'll last you 10 lifetimes. Thanks, John

      Hi John,
      The white ring is just a split nylon washer. Sun Optics (as you said) are now using a polyurethane o-ring instead of the previous black ones they had (Buna-n or Viton). They sent me a few rebuild kits for almost nothing. Though in the future i will be ordering online, Oring store .com has everything you need for cheap.

      Yeah, I know what you mean about the o-ring store. I have a pack of the same Viton O-rings like you ... it is model CV75007, 75 Duro Viton Fluorocarbon extreme and they didn't seem to last too long, they would split along the outside circumference and expose the insides of the ring. Then I ordered Model V90007, it's a Viton 90 Duro and it is holding up REAL GOOD! I am also using the Model U90007 as the lower Urethane o-ring at the bottom of the shaft and it is working very good also. Don't mean to put Dwayne down at Sun Optics but the Viton rings he has sent me in the re-build packets were not all that great. Why send me a Viton 75 Duro when he could just as well have sent me a 90 Viton that works MUCH better and lasts a lot longer. After working with these pumps for years and taking them apart many times .. the secret to good performance seems to be keeping the inside of the pump dry, lubing all working parts and having the right hardness of o-ring. About 6 months ago when I ordered a few re-build packets from Dwayne, they said that they no longer are using silicone grease on the O-rings and metal parts and had switched to Nuvair 455. I ordered a quart on-line and it is working quite well. One quart will more than likely last you a lifetime ... shipping and handling and the price of a quart is about $35.00

    Hey bud i took my pump apart, replaced rings, then watched this vid saying not to use anything but pure silicone. I have wd40 silicone, what if i make sure its dry? Or no go until i get the pure silicone grease?

    • @Evan-is5lc
      @Evan-is5lc  3 роки тому +1

      I do not believe the solvents in silicone spray are compatible with o rings nor that the dry film lubricant it leaves is particularly beneficial in this application. I would wait on the grease.

    • @Evan-is5lc
      @Evan-is5lc  4 роки тому +1

      They do pump on the up stroke also, so keep in mind that you have to overcome more than just gravity, but I would not call it difficult to pull up.
      If it tries to "spring" back down against your pull stroke, it's in need of repair.

      I picked it up on Amazon. It's designed for scuba gear, so a scuba shop should have it. Being in the rural Midwest, I don't have access to a scuba shop, so the internet is my only bet.

      Omar Martinez any scuba shop or even walmart. If you get it from walmart tho make sure its 100% pure. If you get it from scuba shop it will always be pure. PLEASE CLICK ON MY CIRCLE AND SUB TO MY CHANNEL.... #DrJones #KyAirGunners #HPAirguns

    Just talked to the tech guy from Sun Optics, he told me not to use silicone grease but use mobil 1 synthetic motor oil. JUST SOME NEW INFO!

      Ron Finuf I've heard it before, but I understand how a diesel engine works, and by using a non-flammable lubricant, I can ensure my air pump stays an air pump not an engine.
