Sig MCX Virtus PCP - Accuracy Problem Solved?
I'm trying to cut down on the "umm"'s.
Here's the difference that properly loading the magazines can make and what to expect at a reasonable range.
This gun isn't a tack driver, nor was it meant to be. Was I expecting too much from it? Am I too harsh on it? Probably. This is the internet afterall; if you disagree, threaten to burn down my house or something.

Excuse the "umm"'s I haven't done this in a while. Also, disregard the breathing in the mic; I can blame the beers, the caffeine, the stairs, the camera at head level, or the excitement of the new gun, but they are all just cover ups for the fact that I haven't went on a run in 5 years. The gun is very cool, as you'd imagine. Practicality however, isn't what I want it to be. I hope to put some ...
Benjamin Pump Breakdown

Have a Benjamin hand pump? Odds are that you are having problems with it right now or you will shortly. Here we have the entire breakdown and reassembly so that you can avoid the high repair cost and shipping to get the pump fixed elsewhere. Check all o-rings as you go, and the pump will be functioning like new when you're done.

Just a quick over view of a gun that you've probably never seen, and will probably never see again. It's a hefty, sturdy replica of the M44 Mosin Nagant that looks and feels quite stunning in person. It's dimensionally correct, well balanced, and recoil free, and it only costs a little more than 880 rounds of 7.62x54r.
Keep an eye on the Firing Pin. I will fell off, and you just get dry shots.
To get the lower bolt off the mid cylinder I use Theraband tightly wrapped around the mid cylinder to get a good grip while making it a little thicker to give you the edge while holding it by hand .... a wrench on the bolt and with a bit of a struggle it comes loose.
Diabolo: Pronounced Dee---ahhhh----bullo, ......not Die-ah-bowlow.

Beautiful gun, but the plastic stock is somewhat disappointing! Also the energy level of approximately 2,5 Joules! You also get that from every decent handgun, only a fraction of that size and weight!
did you ever find any better ammo?
Your a crap shot aswell 🤣 you can fire it from 20 yards and hit it well
Lol is there anything you don’t want to complain about what a dick it’s a good riffle and your video blows pal
My bsa r10 loves those sniper magnums...... if you can find them
best advice, must clean barrel after every 100 shots put bout 7 q-tips in barrel make absolutely sure no pellets in mag and while the mag is out temporarily push down the qtips until they reach the beginning of the barrel. Look inside gun make sure the qtips dont enter the nozzle. from inside the mag holder push the qtip with your finger (safety on) or bottle removed and push back the qtip inside the the barrel flush so that the mag can engaged when you put it back it. put the empty mag in and shoot twice in a safe directions and blow out the qtips. Next tighten the barrel screw on the tip of the barrel by removing the fake flash supressor use 11 mm open wrench tighten nicely but dont over tighten (caution first) make sure gun is empty first so remove mag when doing this part. sometimes this barrel screw gets loose or comes loose so tighten nicely which will compress the plastic holder that holds the barrel.this will make the barrel stiffer. replace reg on bottle to 1500 psi and remove spring inside black funnel tube to a paintball spring. After that you should get at least 17-18 fpe .nice power and decent accuracy Good luck get saved by accepting Jesus Christ repent and get Baptized before its too late. Seating the pellets will reduced annoying excess trigger pull and improve accuracy
I can't tell you if you were speeding up the shooting process in editing or if you were really shooting that fast. This gun is regulated and to take full advantage of that(shot to shot consistency) I recommend shooting no faster than about one round every 5 seconds for the regulator to recover. Both German manufacturers make flat nosed/wadcutter pellets btw. There are folks on Ebay selling pellet seaters for this gun that will do more than one at a time.
I just did this after watching this... It was a tad confusing but it worked! My factory pump was stuck together hard. Very tough to get it apart.
It a suppression rifle for fast response rifle not a target rifle that is why it was made by Sig for training
Lipstick on a pig :(
Great video, thanks!!!
putting different weight pellets into a single belt is not an accurate test. your irons or optic zero is for a single weight at a certain range. I struggle to believe you are using hold point to account for the weight differentials. If you shoot a heavier pellet following a lighter one it will lower the POI (point of impact). I have a Virtus and it is not the most accurate however they are fun. try shooting empty shotgun shells at 10 yards it is epic fun :)
Informative - thanks!
I sent my brand new Virtus back since it grouped about 6 inches at twenty yds, The bore was filthy right out of the box and had rust in it, after shooting around 60 JSB 18.13gr the trigger and loading mechanism jammed! Very disappointing Sig...............
Mine failed me shortly after this video. I pulled it open to try and figure out the problem -- very bad idea.
Great video. I am replacing my seals once I get the o ring grease. My pump locks after 2-4 pumps.
Hey bud i took my pump apart, replaced rings, then watched this vid saying not to use anything but pure silicone. I have wd40 silicone, what if i make sure its dry? Or no go until i get the pure silicone grease?
I do not believe the solvents in silicone spray are compatible with o rings nor that the dry film lubricant it leaves is particularly beneficial in this application. I would wait on the grease.
Its pronounced dee-ab-e-loh.
...it it was spelled Diablo. The can is spelled Diabolo.
@@foam27 , Diabolo (dee-ab-e-loh) is a shape. Diablo is a mis spelling.
Does the H&N Sniper Magnum fit snug in the rail type magazine of the Sig? The JSB RS 13 gr and Diobolo 15 gr were loose and would pop out at times.
Picked up 100 of the 007 Viton o-rings on Amazon for $10. Thanks for the great video, my pump is back in operation!
I love my MCX ;-) ua-cam.com/video/AjaGV4WVfLQ/v-deo.html
Have you heard about the first release and second release happening now with upgrades?
I most definitely have not. Do you have a link or anything about it?
damn my pin is seized in their good, might have to spray it with penetrating oil and beat the hell out of it from the looks of things.
what most people here dont realise is this is semi auto so your accuracy is also judged on your ability to pull the trigger without movement of the scope (even a little)
Yeah I thought the same thing and I don’t see any issue with accuracy at all most people probably aren’t strong enough too pull the double stage trigger hard enough without flinching around there sights by doing so I put a drop of oil in the internals of the trigger and the double trigger feel is much smoother now you almost don’t notice people just don’t want too put in a little work for a good experience and expect the rifle too be properly lubricated and maintained etc fresh out the box.
I Love my MCX ;-) if you guys don't mind I introduce my Baby ;-) ua-cam.com/video/XqFsRU-uECM/v-deo.html
Thank you!
I guess I have to say "darn." I'm getting one, sole purpose is varmint perishing. Plus it's CO2, so would love to see Chrony readings. All PCP conversions I saw dropped 150 fps off or pellet velocity. I've also seen videos that say type of pellets make a huge difference in accuracy. I have 4 different types I'll be testing, so will know what's baloney in short order.
Would you sell......
Would you sell the unit sig sauer virtus mxc pcp air gun for me....?
Nah.
If you want to sell it, what price do you sell
Great video, thanks. Is yours hard to pull up? I'm trying to decide if I should send this back.
They do pump on the up stroke also, so keep in mind that you have to overcome more than just gravity, but I would not call it difficult to pull up. If it tries to "spring" back down against your pull stroke, it's in need of repair.
Thanks, I just got it and am trying to decide if I should send it back.
Im wondering what the crown on the muzzle looks like? if that useless brake is removable or not?? If so some accuracy could be attainable by simply redoing the crown and adding a good functional air stripper !!plz lmk what your thoughts are on this !!
3/16 drill bit clears excessive drag from the magazine. Use a drill press for accuracy. Be sure to clean it. Barrel shipping grease can be an issue.
@Joshua Langley yes the groves on the side of mag is what’s causing the pellets to get damaged push some thur it’s visible immediately cheers
Hey Anthony I went on your channel and couple of your song video are banned here in US it says where you from I find it hilarious 😂 it said this video banned in your country anyways cheers
if you cant power mod its not worth it for me I want one for hunting. for USA they should have made it 30+fpe then you can take my money so I just stick with my pp700sa .22 tuned at 26fpe and hatsan flash .22 44fpe tune
30 fpe on a pcp with a 30rd mag for $300? Keep dreaming.
Anyone know if the barrel is threaded to add a silencer ?
Yes if is the piece on end screws off
Best fittings do silencer adaptor for them if any one who wonts one in uk
I've been been hyped for this gun for a long time, but now thanks to your very informative testing you've shown me that it is in fact garbage. Thankyou so much for saving me from spending £500 on this piece of junk :).
what should i buy instead
@@johnpierce3347 A Weihrauch HW100. Best airgun on the market.
You scratched it on purpose?????? WTF ??????????????? Mine is 11.8ftp and semiautomatic modified and I'm English. You just need the knowledge and an elastic band... Lol
I just bought one of these. I hope it don't have any problems. This is my first pcp gun.... Can I fill the tank if it's attached to the gun? Or will that mess the seals up?
@josh langley did you get a mcx josh? im lookin into it
Just be careful putting the but stock on if you purchase one of these. If you try to tighten it to the point where it will not spin or come off it will crack. I've seen this with mine and 7 others so far have posted similar experiences online. I was very careful checking to see if it was tight enough after every quarter turn and it crack before it go tight enough to use with a sling. Called Sig the only way they can replace the but stock is to send the whole gun back at your own expense.
I really believe I can put pellets in a slingshot and do this well at 12 yards!......SIG would definitely be getting a phone call from me.
Thank God I haven't bought one yet! But to mabey help. Maybe you need to shoot very light 22cal pellets. 12grn, or less. This is only sub 12ft pounds after all. I most certainly wouldn't dream of anything over 14 grn. Call SIG. Ask them what it's made to shoot. After all, they made it. ....Good luck and God bless you.
Thanks brother. Excellent review. For $300 bucks, I would buy the Umarex Gauntlet. Mine shoots excellent and is totally reliable. I have never cleaned the barrel.
Could you tell me please how to fill it with air bottle? I put connector and opened the air bottle but nothing happened
Hi I bought one of them and tried to fill it but nothing happened!
Were not expecting any PCP hunting/target rifle accuracy from this one to begin with. But, yes. Seating the pellets well probably is the best thing to do on this PCP version also (just by guessing that the internals may be somewhat based upon the co2 version). Own a co2 MCX and like very much to shoot it. Yeah - it has been a bit troublesome airgun, but I still like it. Have had it opened for fixing many times. Expect to need to fix something on this one also - whenever I finally get my hamds on one.. My MCX shoots a bit hotter from original nowadays, so the groups tend to look like columns because of hits dropping lower after the co2 cools down. 1" wide groups from 15 meters before power starts dropping is though good enough for me. Would just like more power consistency provided by a PCP system. But I guess it takes some time before the rifle reaches my airgun store this spring/summer..
Don’t sell it easy gun to tune the regulator on there is 1100 psi output or less buy a 1800 psi output or a 2000 psi regulator for that bottle about $17 or more they will swap it out at a paintball shop for you. Just take the bottle and regulator to em. Your gun is gonna scream then do a video it will be loud and powerfull I have done this before it will shoot through a inch of wood easy you can also put a carbon fiber tank for more power with one of those regulator trust me do it
@@dkscx6254 I will when I get it I one I done this before on the air ordnance smg
@@ogboppitybop9123 have you tried it yet? Cheers
@@caseG80 yes I did I put the 1800 psi regulator on a 4500 psi hpa tank that gave really good power I also bored the part that you screw the bottle on too. I had the first gen and the second gen I will be getting a third I cracked the frame on my last had a really bad drop on a camping trip with that power tho it echoed threw the mountains beautifully. Also shoot threw a inch of wood it would not with co2 or 3000 psi bottle
Hi mate have you done your second video on making it more accurate? And what do you think are the most accurate pellets you used so far, Thanks
Yes sir: ua-cam.com/video/7I9OR__SxqI/v-deo.html Sniper magnums, oddly enough, are shooting the best for me. I'd like to try some wadcutters still, as that's what is recommended for it.
