- ENA Dream BBQ is a game that's planning on releasing in 2023 that will act as the next installment of the popular UA-cam series ENA. With very little information given about the game so far, the main question surrounding this game is what we can expect.

Yeah, idk why the game's atmosphere feels familer yet scary. I get the feeling of wanting to be there but also the feeling of I hope I don't get trapped there x3

The music makes you feel like you went to there albeit you didn't and you have memories you never had I forgot what it's called but it's similar to nostalgia but instead of you remembering real or sad memories you remember memories you never had

Cause the world is stylised or maybe even based on 2000's internet. Like, it was not stated here, but it is pretty much canon at this point that ENA is taking place inside the computer.

I feel like this game is gonna be great as a hardcore Ena fan. I love surreal and strangely nostalgic surreal games that look like they ran on old hardware. I can’t wait to play it and I’m going to enjoy it thoroughly as well. I feel like this will be truly great

my main concern is the gameplay, it seems like its just gonna be a gigantic walking sim with semi-cool interactions (which at that point it should just be a video lol), not much was shown though so i can't make many assumptions.
There are points where we can see Ena holding various objects from a first person perspective, which would seem to imply that there is gameplay beyond wandering around and speaking to the fascinating characters.
Personally, my biggest concern is that one of my favorite things about the videos is how Ena only takes only one very specific path through the world, ignoring the dozens of other doors that surely must lead to different places. I’m afraid that, once we are given proper control of Ena, the game won’t be able to satisfyingly deliver on the idea of these seemingly infinitely fractaling doorways.
i assume it'll be similar to jazzpunk, if youve ever seen/played it. thats just the vibes it gives off imo

But just from the name Dream Barbecue, and the overall vibe shown so far, it kinda just looks like its going to be a ENA-Themed "LSD: Dream Emulator" type game. I mean, the gameplay loop looks similar, and the name is borderline identical, just a thought
yeah i hope it'll have more in depth game content rather than just walking around empty spaces, but who knows he might be trying to keep all the fun gameplay a secret so people don't get spoiled and get to experience it fresh

5:49 if I'm correct, this is a Leucochloridium, which is basically a parasite that lives in snail's eye stalks and pulsate just like in this character's design. Might hint at some possible ongoings with them
During the ENA day livestream they reiterated that the game will be free! That made my week when I found out, I'll definitely be planning on playing it
First point I want to really REALLY, stretch about ENA: It's word IS internet. Like, Goel called the whole style Net-Core, and all characters seems to be a different takes on Internet avatars. This with 2000's looks is meant to invoke this weird feeling of exploring internet for the first time. Also, like, we literally have in series source code and stuff, which means that at least the world we gonna explore is inside some computer, and creatures of this world know it.
If it is a representation of the internet, it is the best interpretation of cyberspace I've seen thus far.

When I find music in games or TV shows exciting, I find out about it mainly through playlists on UA-cam, because my brain just can't concentrate enough on them, I guess this time I really gonna be need to say to my myself in playthrough: "Shut, the fuck up, and listen, for a moment."
If the game despite being short is gonna slaps so hard, like a freakin Mettaton theme or his fanmade "Hard drive" song or Pizza tower, I'm all for it. This may be that one game that you can return to again and again after each finish every 6 moths - 1 year, especially because of the short duration.
As a Yume Nikki fan I'm super excited, I love games with weird and fun dreamy settings
Also if you pause at 5:44 the image on the TV towards the right looks a bit like Uboa I wonder if that was just a coincidence or not but still cool
yeah i do feel like ENA episodes are inspired from yume nikki. In Power Of Potluck you can see a room that looks a LOT like one from Yume Nikki

I agree. 5hrs to me is a long time but it’s about the game and I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes exactly how it gives me a win 95 vibe. A good example to me is humongous entertainment and the learning company. Some games was between 30min and up but they never made me want to quit because of there stories, and sometimes they had the puzzles altered so you can meet new areas, characters, or just to keep you entertained.

Something interesting I noticed is whenever the great runas is mentioned, it’s phrased as one entity.
And also the other doors(?) at the end of temptation stairway all have closed eyes and no bridge leading toward them.
(I don’t know if their doors, but they look like doors.)

Apparently that’s how the characters besides Moonie pronounce it so ;-; I’ve always said Ee-an though
The pronunciation of Ena is rather inconsistent at the best of times. I don’t see anything wrong with it.

I fell asleep during one of these explanation videos for like 30 minutes and then of course I ended up dreaming about Ana. I don’t remember what but at some point I woke up sleeping partially awake and there was a big poster in my room. It wasn’t there before.

I love Ena's peculiar and unique characters/personalities as well as her designs, I'm so excited to see what happens in the game. And I wonder what's the reason behind her design change, I mean where did the blue and yellow (sad and happy) sides go?

I hope the game will be at very least good enough as a stand alone game. Im confident that the 'plot' will not disappoint, and the visuals are already GOTY worthy.

I have a theory, idk if it's just me but there seems to be a lot a correlation between military/war and our new red ena, even her cap kind of resembles that of someone in the military, maybe ena is a type of ghost wandering through a digital afterlife of some sort? She's a soldier who died in war and is now trying to find closure and move on to some kind of after life

I don’t really understand what’s happening in the trailer, but I had watched it a while ago when it came out and decided to watch it again A few dozen times you saw my noticed more and more things, and I love the ambience and world building as well as the grainyness and glitching which gives off the unstable feeling. I wonder what happened to the green Ana and the human looking at because one of them is glitching out and cracking and the other one is fighting for her life honestly gave me more questions than I had before and the universe substract your less to come to your own conclusions I would love to hear what inspired Jiggy to do all thiswhat the meaning behind these things
Honestly I'm just hoping we'll get more music like Anemoia from the trailer.

I'm a big fan of ENA and the animations.
I love the art and world.
Love ENA and Moony.
I understand and comprehend their world and scenario. I see it's reason and it's logical to me.
I get it. And I enjoy it.
What more reason could I have?
I hate the pepe meme, disgusted by cruelty squad and modern animation shows makes me disgusted quite a few of them.
Yet ENA is absurd and nonsense with a whole artistic mess. Yet consistent and actually visually pleasing with understandable and grounded characters expressing in their own emotional language.
Releasing the game without anyone knowing. A man after my own pockets with a full deck of hearts. I got them in spades for this project.

The one aspect you didn't mention about this game is the "job" existentialism. It's seems intentional that ENA is described as a worker, and that so many areas and characters derive from menial jobs like burger flipping and salarymen.
Meaninglessness is the ultimate pandemic of our postmodern global world and it's impossible to fill with consumerism.
