Something that has helped me a lot is training power, if you have a really heavy free standing punching bag at home or at the gym this is what will be used to train power. If this item is available to you try to knock it down with all your different types of kicks. The easiest is a straight kick followed up by a sidekick, a spinning side kick is a somewhat harder due to accuracy. After that try to knock it down with a roundhouse and if you can't, focus on using power from your hips to create an arch like motion. The heavy bag type is like the Everlast Powercore Free Standing Heavy Bag, the one I use is completely full of water at the base, I may switch to sand in the future since it's heavier.
