Fun fact: that’s literally what’s happening. More frames = smoother and slower animation.
Because everything is interpolated evenly. If this tool has a way of creating automation between keyframes with some tweaking it might look much more natural

For the people who want to know: the reason it looks too smooth is because the software used is attempting to predict the next frame, and I think it can't really tell the difference between skipping frames to show speed and a low framerate.

We live in a time where we can literally fix the smoothness of scenes DECADES later. I know this is a stupid game, but I've seen so many Morshu YTPs in my youth that, honestly, seeing this in 60fps makes me mildly emotional. Thank you.

This really shows off the rotoscoping they did for some of the animations. They’re unnatural motions in animation to begin with, but now they really look strange to see so fluidly.

For future reference, if you want to do pixelart you should always upscale the video with nearest neighbour first. Then render it through the ai. and after that you can change the resolution back again. This fixes the "smudgy" look all interpolated frames have

It’s not perfect, but that software has a lot of potential to touch up some classic bits of animation. Maybe even real life footage with enough improvements.
The Zelda HD remake no one asked for but we desperately need. If that game gets an HD remake I will purchase their entire stock.
