By choosing a unidirectional road, they actually minimize the chance of any real "public" safety risk, making this probably THE "safest" you can make a street race. The police aren't idiots, WTF do you want them to do? Repel from helicopters and start impounding cars?

And what can they do, stand in front of the race cars? They racers dont care, they fucking floor it and the policemen gets a move on quite quick ;)
True story: some swedes went to america to participate in some legal tournament on a 0-400m track. After the race the swedes asked the americans: So when are we doing the real race(on the highways) hahahhaha
+gfimpen the car originated in Australia as the Holden Torana, Opel, Vauxhalls sister company in Germany also built them. The Australian Torana was built between 1967-1979. The Ascona began production in 1970 champ. Ford is American no matter where it is built. hence... hope that clears that up :)

The cops are usually blocked by crew and crowd cars so the are a long way back and can do nothing.
They wont chase you if you run there either
