Good Video. Paint job, Looks good to me.We need to remember the main reason for paint is to Preserve and prevent rust, to make the thing last longer. The 2nd is looks/appearances. Not saying it’s no important to have it look nice. After all if it look’s good then we tend to take better care of it.

that paint looks nice! good on you for fixing the hood to, thats what its all about. i think its more satisfaction of fixing what you got than just buying replacements.

Next time around I will be trying out bondo to really hide the fix! Thanks for watching!

Nice job. How about a video talking more about how you paint, paint gun and air setup, what paint, and thinning mix. Looks great, nice metal work!

I'm worried about giving someone bad advice and they mess up their project! I will say that I used roughly an ounce of acetone to 5 oz of paint. Gun is cheapest HVLP from Harbor Freight and I had pressure turned down to roughly 35-40 psi.

Sitting here on the job at break, just seen this posted. Wanted to have the first comment for once 😅. But I’m gonna have to watch the whole video later tonight!

"Let's do some CAD cardboard aided design." LOL! I never heard it put like that, but I do the same thing.

Rust-Oleum regal red is said to be real close to original

I can tell by your reactions when removing the wheel weights you have experienced unwanted surprises in the past. ( I recently purchased an non working used mower) My most recent one is I removed a air breather and they were an extra large wasp nest with about 200 angry wasp in it.

Be careful now, you start getting used to bondo and that spray gun you'll be refinishing everything you own 😂, bondo is pretty easy, use 1 inch of hardner to each golf ball size blob, mix it well by folding it and spread it smooth, don't overwork it, cheese grader it when it feels hard but still gummy and let it harden completely before sanding, nice work on your tractor it should last another decade or so

Every time I learn a new skill I use it on the following project! One of these days I'll make one perfect. Thanks for the advice about the bondo. I will for sure be using some in the near future!
