I just wanted to share you tip that I do with fresh ginger that works fantastic. I buy a large piece of Ginger and I peel the entire piece and then I wrap it in a Ziploc bag and put a twisty tie around it so it's right up against the ginger. And I freeze it and everytime I need fresh ginger I just open it up pull the piece of already peeled Ginger out and I just run it over a kitchen grater and get the amount that I need but it last for until it's gone and I mean I had a piece in there for 8 months and it's great. I bought a bunch of Ginger when a local grocery store here was practically giving it away and I peeled it all and I've been using it up and I use a lot of Ginger so I mean it is really a fantastic way to not waste one piece of ginger. I also make so many meals out of those ramen noodles one of our family favorites uses them and then I saved a little seasoning packets and I use them to make broth or add them to soups or whatever
This is a great tip. I never thought to freeze it whole. I always grate it first but I bet it is so much fresher tasting with this tip. I am definitely pinning this comment for more people to see because it will be soooo helpful. Thank you so much for sharing this tip and taking the time to watch the video. I truly appreciate it 😊 I hope you have an Amazing Day🤗
@@kjnailzit As long as you're going to stick it into a cooked recipe you will not notice the difference at all! It will taste exactly the same as the day you purchased it provided you wrap it up good. And it's funny that I made this comment because I was wrong when I said eight months it's actually been over a year and I still cannot tell the difference and I just used it yesterday when I made Egg Roll in a bowl
Great combinations-I boiled plain ramen and sautéed chopped cabbage and onion sprinkling the shrimp season packet on top then stirred in the ramen-it tasted like Chow Mein
OMG IMG OMG Garlic butter ramen! This is by far the best, most creative, most comprehensive ramen tutorial I have found! Shut up the egg in the bacon fat! Everything looks like special meals when it all came from the pantry. Very mpressive, making the garlic butter ramen today
I hope you love it as much as I did. Be sure to give it a squeeze of lemon. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I hope you have an Amazing Day 🤗
Thank you so much for using REAL PEOPLE ingredients! Ramen, fake butter, jarred garlic, Complete seasoning, etc., and I *adore* your "Use What You Have" attitude! Such an amazing breath of fresh air from all the "Make Cheap Meals (but with costly ingredients...)" YTers out there. I know how to make spendy meals out of spendy ingredients - what I need are ideas about how to make very inexpensive bases (like ramen) taste better, more creative, fresher, etc. without further breaking the bank. Great job!!

Tip: If you have a dehydrator, dehydrate the frozen veggies and rehydrate as you cook the noodles. The veggies are already cleaned, cut, and blanched, so the prep work is done. Saves freezer space and food in case of power outages.
Experimenting with ramen. (I break the noodles into four sections while still in the packet.) 1. Add frozen shelled edamame to water when boiling noodles. I had leftover farro (grain) which I added to make it a bit crunchy. Then I added soy sauce and a tbs of creamy peanut butter. 2. Add grated smoked Gouda and nutritional yeast to drained noodles for mac and cheese. 3. Defrost or nuke a bag of green veggies (Trader Joe’s has great frozen mixes), toss in farro or barley, add to ramen w/seasoning packet (I use the soy sauce variety), eat as is, or add a little pb.
I love Ramen Noodles for a quick spaghetti; a quick soup mixed with Chicken & Veggies or a Taco style soup Black Beans, Tomatos, Corn and taco seasoning or Stirfries - Ramen is a wonderful pantry staple
This is awesome! Thank you so much for demonstrating these wonderful ideas for yummy budget cooking!! You should open a ramen house and have all these on the menu.
I gave my friend many rides to the food pantry. On Friday afternoon they had a free table. You didn't need to qualify to get these, they were going to be tossed. I asked, and generally left with a big bag of things like tea bags, Ramen noodles, canned fruit, or other items. My friend wouldn't eat any of the "free table "foods.
You can pre-chop those broccoli and cauliflower down so it is easier to eat, cooks faster (saves money during cooking). Thank you for these fantastic ideas!!!!

If you're on a budget this is a great way to stretch your money to get some tasty meals. Especially good if cooking for one or two people. I couldn't believe when you kept adding every hot seasoning to your spicy bowl! 😮 I would not be able to eat that! For myself, a few drops of Louisiana hot sauce would be it. I'm going to be looking for that Everything seasoning and trying the green sauce too. I happen to have green peppers and fresh parsley on hand. Keep up the good work!
