Orianthi is brilliant of course, but also check out Samantha Fish who plays incredible solos, especially in her earlier years from 2012 to 2017. Have a look at 'Black Wind Howlin', it's one of my favourites: ua-cam.com/video/eFoj4Pp_5bU/v-deo.html
I was privileged to hear Orianthi play lead with Alice Cooper in Las Vegas last month. She is a fantastic show(wo)man, and REALLY rocked the house! I hope to continue to hear from her in the USA.
OMG the emotion, the bends, a soul screaming passion this woman can play! Very rare to feel this much heart in a created flow of sound, and frequencies. bravo!
It is really hard to find a guitarrist that can play like her. She does not only shred scales like zillions of guitarists do. She can play with a lot of expression , coherence , creativeness and articulation . That is why she is in "club" of famous virtuoso guitarists like Santana and Steve Vai and YOU do not. She takes this seriously and proved herself .
Orianthi Panagaris is definitely one of the contemporary giant rock improvisation guitarists constantly adding to arts' history with her continues awesome technique advancements!!!
I have played guitar for over fifty years and I think this Orianthi girl is way hot...one of the best I have had the pleasure of listening to for a long time.
Dino R is right, i also have been playing foreover 40 years and this kid is pure talant at such a young age and if the like's of Santana, steve vai, Kirk Lorange and so on admire and endorse her skills with all their experience and cridentials then i guess they are out of their minds because mmojorissen clearly has more cloute and knowledge then some of the greatest guitar players alive. step up and cut heads with her or sit down and enjoy the show. :)
She has no "soul", At best, she's a shredder. Go buy an Orianthi CD and you'll eject it before you listen to the entire CD. Orianthi is fun to watch but not to listen too.
great talent - feel sorry for any dude here who puts her down - that green monster- envy -and that awful jealousy - gotcha down ? stay on top of your game gal your eff'n rock !!!
Play guitar for over 20 years then say "great talent". I'm sure you own ZERO Orianthi CD's. You can't see her playing when listening to a CD. I guarantee you wouldn't listen to the whole CD.
Name one song where she plays a deep, slow, and soulful guitar solo. She's a player we watch but we aren't listening to her in the car on a long drive.
Well of course she is beautiful and outstandingly talented. Otherwise Michael Jackson would not have picked her as his lead guitarist. Michael could get anybody in the world he wanted for that job. Duh!!!!!!!
I used to think Orianthi would be well-known guitarist but she hasn't produced any worthwhile originals. Even her solos are basic minor pentatonic scales. She still looks great and I see why a lot of artists welcome her on-stage.
By no means a comparison with the greaters, surely not. I'm not suggesting she's good in theory. She's just trying to make a living from her guitar, works hard and steps steadily upwards. This arguments about her pentatonics is as old as her career. She plays clean and straightforwardly and her technique is quite solid. I like to listen and watch her. Her appearance and PR is another subject, but overall a success. On the other hand what she screwed up recently is that she left Alice Cooper and went to those drunkard called R.Sambora. It's a pity...
Katip Karacahil Ori is good at playing cover songs. Paul Reed Smith brought her to the US to sell PRS guitars. If not for his 'marketing campaign', not of us would have ever heard of her. Lita Ford was a "badass female guitarist". Today, Gretchen Menn is a badass guitarist who happens to be female.
John Cole Watching three videos? I'd love to see her trade licks with some local guitarists in Chicago, including me. Please share with us everything you know about music, music theory, and stringed instruments.
sick jade green PRS, she deserves it too! a beautiful axe on a pretty girl, but that don't matter, she can fukin bring the chops!! being female and attractive is a side note- carlos was right- she is a guitarists guitarist
Beautiful girl. It's kind of funny when Carlos mentions "pass the baton". Exactly what baton does he have to pass? Unfortunately, he can't donate his playing or song--writing skills
Orianthi is a great player. But there will always be a little bit of a problem here. She looks too good (and that's not intended as criticism). The problem is that, for heterosexual guys, it's hard to focus enough on her music because the visual is so interesting. But, hey, we should all have such problems :) Play on, Orianthi.
Nothing in your post refutes anything I said in my original post: " I am not going to say that Orianthi does not have guitar skills. What I am going to say is that, PRS & Michael Jackson both chose Orianthi, who just happened to be a smoking hot young babe (Exactly the same way Jackson also did with Jennifer Batten, back when she was also young and hot-Remember her?). So IF Orianthi was really chosen based on her guitar skills, that means that she is better than the plethora of guitar virtuosos in the world who have penises. -Does anybody really believe that? "
M CK The fact is she can survive on her playing abilities regardless of her looks just as Jeff Beck does...... I guess endorsement from a nobody like Santana means nothing either.
Mark Lowe Did you really just compare Orianthi's LOOKS to JEFF BECK??? And I never said she could not play; I said that the reason she has been so successful is that she is a hot young babe. And if you still doubt that, then think about this: Places like Julliard in NYC, Berklee in Boston, & GIT (Guitar Institute of Technology) in LA, are all FULL of the top young guitar virtuosos in this country, and that does not even include all young guitar virtuosos from OTHER countries. Nor does it include the MANY professional studio guitarists working in the industry, who themselves have decades more experience, and from whose ranks have come greats like Tommy Tedesco, Larry Carlton, & Steve Lukather, just to name a few. So when Michael Jackson selected his guitar players, he had this Cream of the Crop to choose from. Yet he nevertheless chose A Hot Young Babe, and he did this not ONCE, but TWICE-Remember Jennifer Batten? Can you explain that??? And I respect guys like Santana, but they must recognize that they are getting older, & so they need to associate themselves with somebody young, to stay connected to the younger crowd. So now IF you STILL actually believe that Orianthi has achieved all this success based on her technical skills, then I'll help you write you next letters to Santa Claus & the Easter Bunny ;-)
I sure did. Neither of their looks has anything to do with how well they play guitar. Every time a decent female musician gets attention all the "oh shes so hot" wankers come out. e.g. Tal Wilkenfeld, Candy Dulfer and so on. It's just my opinion but talk like that kind of infers or takes focus away from them being truly talented. It's a little pathetic.
Mark Lowe " It's just my opinion but talk like that kind of infers or takes focus away from them being truly talented. " I think you meant to say ' Imply ', which means to suggest or insinuate, not ' Infer ', which means to internally interpret. So now that I have corrected you on your grammar, I will also correct you on the rest of your statement: You must not have read the rest of my statement, because I clearly explained how it does not make sense that Jackson, & all these other musicians, would choose Orianthi over ALL the literally Hundreds & Hundreds of MORE trained, MORE experienced, & MORE proven guitar virtuosos, ALL Readily Available from ALL those sources-IF It Was ONLY Based On Technical Skill! Can you state a logical reason for this-OTHER than the fact that she is a Hot Young Babe (just like Jennifer Batten also was back when Jackson chose her)? -I Didn't Think So. So you're welcome for the corrections-I am still available to help you write those letters... And BTW: IF you really find Jeff Beck that attractive, then good for you-But I don't recall ever seeing him prancing around in sexy outfits.
You sure don't know anything about rock and blues guitar Scott. She is a superb electric guitar player and improviser. Would like to hear you play. I do believe that Carlos knows exactly what he is talking about, as do so many other fine musicians who agree. I'd be interested in who you think can play well
Jamie Rhind Idk about him. but, to me. this is so generic it's boring. The Pentatonic scale is something you learn quite early on. Santana is also pretty much the same in every song, there's no "HUGELY" different santana solo. A good guitarist to /ME/ (This is of course, just my opinion) Would be Shawn Lane or Guthrie Govan.
***** thanks for the thoughts Nathan. I've checked out your suggestions of Shawn and Guthrie and was really impressed with Guthrie's playing, as well as understanding of music. Saw a video where he discusses how to build solos from the pentatonic scale. Hadn't heard of him but will be looking to add some to my collection. In terms of playing, clearly everyone has developed their own ear and direction musicially, both from listening and performing. Her playing is deeply rooted in the pentatonic scale, and that for so many is important. The blues is a primary root of rock, and her interpretation of blues is superb. From the note choices to the bending to the emotional understanding - she gets an A+. And she has been a huge follower of Santana, which is cool too. One can hear it in her lines as well. Not just the Pentatonic scale but from the emotional side, which is so important. Carlos isn't know for his many notes, or being technically the most gifted. It is his sensitivity and phrasing that has so many people attached to him. And that is what really separates musicians - their ability to phrase. To me, she has a superior understanding of phrasing. Have to remember that she is only 24 or something like that, and her playing will mature over time. I used to study jazz with Emily Remler, who at the time was the finest female guitar player in the world, and one of the finest jazz guitarists. She used to tell me how difficult it was for her as a woman to have a voice in jazz, because it was so male dominated, and followers would listen to her differently, often not accepting her playing as as legit because she was a woman. I completely understand where she was coming from. Let's embrace what this young woman Orianthi has accomplished in a short time. There are far too many guys who think they can play the instrument well. She obviously can, and will grow and continue to blossom. Really love Guthrie. He is serious:) To answer my question, guys I follow most closely on guitar are Mike Stern, John Scofield, Pat Metheny, Scott Henderson, Pat Martino, and a few others. So many great musicians
Doesn't resonate with me… she's just join through the motions. I don't feel it!! Don't know what Carlos was talking about. Sounds messy!! Too much speed and too many notes when not needed… and her sound is thin!! She's good… but far from great!!!!!!!
Incredible, an axe-girl. The same day I heard Joanne for the first time. Wonderful to see where female talented guitarists are rare. Fantastically good.
as much as I love my metal its not the faster you play the better you are, its all about smoothness, feeling and making your guitar talk....... I love them all
Amen, brother! I know I am a decent guitarist and have been playing for over 30 years, but some of this new generation has tools I never did and they are coming to a point of musical maturation far faster. I wish ALL of them the best.
I see her,I need her,I hear her. Oh yea. Goes along the nech like nothing. You can,t match talent like hers They don't come along very often. She's a good one,one of the best for sure. Best wish's to her and thank you for posting this!
I just got in one one of her PRS GUITARS plays like a Dream 🤘💕👒😎✌TOBACCO BURST AND ORDERD THE purple one just like hers same specks and in linlay ✌☮😎🎸♬♫♪🎸
When Santana says “if I wanna pass the baton to somebody, Orianthis would be my first choice,” that says it all. I don’t know much about Orianthis, but when one of your all time heroes, someone with the legendary background as Santana says this so & so has got the mojo, you simply bow to the undisputed truth and you simply don’t argue.
Peter, You are my new hero. I was looking for guitar stuf to watch and felt like finding someone who isnt a guy- I mean, tony mcmanus, richard thompson, steve vai, fine, but then stumbled upon ori and now, thanks to your comment will look up Desiree, and also, yeah, man, screw the begrudgers. Bet they are commenting from their parents garages.
Desiree rocks and always has..that's why we love to listen to her.. Ori is awesome, Too...I couldn't compare them because I like them both.So many great guitar players and not enough time...
From what I hear, she has more to offer than just raw speed... there's soul there, too. (I made sure to close my eyes so I could concentrate on her playing, out of fairness to her.) Here's to more female guitarists making a name for themselves; they're out there, and I hope society matures enough so that these ladies get the same shot at the title as a male guitarist of equal talent.
This Gal can play! Reminds me of Alvin Lee, Stevie Ray Vaugn, And the rest of the great ones. What a style! Absolutely one of the best! Need her name! Thanks for the post.
Piękna kobieta, pięknie gra, z wysokim poziomem umiejętności gry na gitarze. Beautiful woman, beautiful game, with a high level of skill to play the guitar.
there is a lot of great players out there. its impossible to pick the best because they all have their own style and we all like different style of music. to each their own as they say..... I think Orianthi is fantastic. lets all agree she can play.
she practiced to perfect her skill, she paid her dues...full of talent...
She's bloody good. Plays with passion.
Orianthi truly is a stunning guitar player, such incredible talent, one of my all time favourites
What has she contributed to music? What makes her any different than any other cover-banf guitarist? She's only fun to watch.
Whats wrong with being fun to watch? That means she satisfies both the Audio and Visual senses!
Orianthi IS the NEXT GENERATION of Awesome Guitarist! She's absolutely incredible! 👍👍😎
Orianthi is brilliant of course, but also check out Samantha Fish who plays incredible solos, especially in her earlier years from 2012 to 2017. Have a look at 'Black Wind Howlin', it's one of my favourites:

Absolutely & incredibly wonderful playing! An endorsement from Santana is a badge of honor.....All the best gigs in 2014 Orianthi
She never looks , just feels. Legendary guitarist.
What a great guitarist this young lady is!!! Refreshing to hear, in a world dominated by male players :)
Wow __ where have I been? Seeing this phenomenal woman play is AMAZING!
Move forward girl, come on with it!!!
What a great relief to me to hear a beautiful woman play the best rock riffs and licks I have ever heard.
I think I've come back and seen this video like 10 times! Awesome guitarists
At 5:55. is she playing in a mall? Notice the people just walking by behind her.
JUST ADORE THIS FEMALE GUITARIST!!!
She is amazing, i always know a great player when i hear one, it brings chills to my spine, the music speaks to me and she is awesome!
OMG the emotion, the bends, a soul screaming passion this woman can play! Very rare to feel this much heart in a created flow of sound, and frequencies. bravo!
She looks as good as she plays! She played for Michael Jackson fans who were always asking him for a hug I would like to ask her for a hug.
Man, this woman brings tears to my eyes. OMG. Orianthi. You must be the reincarnation of Jimi and Stevie all rolled into one. Play on girl, play on.
Awesome rock guitarist with an equally awesome name.
Love her style...she is one the best female guitarist by far
Orianthi Panagaris is definitely one of the contemporary giant rock improvisation guitarists constantly adding to arts' history with her continues awesome technique advancements!!!
Phuque me, thats awesome.... one of gods gifted children... go girl.
I have played guitar for over fifty years and I think this Orianthi girl is way hot...one of the best I have had the pleasure of listening to for a long time.

She is just a straight badass. Top 5 players out there right now imo
Just listen n look what she does n can do...keep on rockn f the haters
no question - she got feel AND speed.
Do you own any of her CD's? Do you listen to her in the car? She's a player that people want to watch but not listen to unless they are watching her.
@@iamkenman101 Shut up for good with your constantly negative remarks!
Saw her in concert she Blew me away i have been playing for 40 years the Girl is the next RHANDY RHOADS 🎸🎸🎸 🎀 🎸🎸
I'm awe-struck - what an amazing natural talent.
this chick has got a hell of a future ahead of her.
Dam that girl can shred with soul!!
She has no "soul", At best, she's a shredder. Go buy an Orianthi CD and you'll eject it before you listen to the entire CD. Orianthi is fun to watch but not to listen too.
Dog training with shock collar
great talent - feel sorry for any dude here who puts her down - that green monster- envy -and that awful jealousy - gotcha down ? stay on top of your game gal your eff'n rock !!!

been playing for 3O years - so me and Santana and Steve Vai are all wrong - hmmmn - NOT !!!
Agreed she is AMAZING!
Right !!! See my most recent post today on 8/22/16 - come on folks - she is seriously talented!!!
Name one song where she plays a deep, slow, and soulful guitar solo. She's a player we watch but we aren't listening to her in the car on a long drive.
This Girl ain't no joke!!! You can definately heard a Santana influence in her style, but, OMG, what a woman!!! Thanks for sharing.
i always come back here, she is just amazing and inspirational to an old 42 year old guitarist lol
I don't think there's a better female rock guitarist then Orianthi???
..
...
..
Norm Vance Lol
I would beg to differ. She is more blues then rock. You need to hear Nita Straus who took her place for Alice Cooper.
She is so awesome. anyone who thinks different is lol jealous. because she rules
Well of course she is beautiful and outstandingly talented. Otherwise Michael Jackson would not have picked her as his lead guitarist. Michael could get anybody in the world he wanted for that job. Duh!!!!!!!
Beautiful
God Bless this one; she is rippin,; I really miss SRV big time.; hope she goes far. Will be purchasing her CDs....Bless Her!
She also played in Alice Coopers touring band for a couple of years
I used to think Orianthi would be well-known guitarist but she hasn't produced any worthwhile originals. Even her solos are basic minor pentatonic scales. She still looks great and I see why a lot of artists welcome her on-stage.
Strange. What's wrong with pentatonic? Is it easier to play on guitar or what? JH, EC, JB, JP all did it easy at their times eh? Go listen Buckethead
You think Jimmy page would say something like that about her?
She Rocks!
Kiana Shotgun =)
You can tell just by the tone who it is, when she lets loose!
Bill Jackson That's it..Same like when u here Satriani or Buckethead u know moment u here who plays;)
Kiana Shotgun is a beast on guitar. I wish she would a solo album so people could really hear some sick guitar.
What an incredible player!!
Wow, absolutely amazing guitarist
sick jade green PRS, she deserves it too! a beautiful axe on a pretty girl, but that don't matter, she can fukin bring the chops!! being female and attractive is a side note- carlos was right- she is a guitarists guitarist
385 clowns gave her a thumbs down. Really?
Beautiful girl. It's kind of funny when Carlos mentions "pass the baton". Exactly what baton does he have to pass? Unfortunately, he can't donate his playing or song--writing skills
Para mi que veo a esta muy buena guitarrista me llegan los videos despues de 11 años y mas la tengo presente muy buena saludos desde Mar del Plata
Absolutely , blown away.
boy, some of you are some serious judges. but i have heard of her but none of you
Orianthi is a great player. But there will always be a little bit of a problem here. She looks too good (and that's not intended as criticism). The problem is that, for heterosexual guys, it's hard to focus enough on her music because the visual is so interesting. But, hey, we should all have such problems :)
Play on, Orianthi.
are you fresh out of the puzzle factory? or just another jealous guitar player, get over yourself. everything is not about you.
he was joking... take your head out of your ass...
Sexist
I totally agree: People won't take her seriously because of her looks. I loved what Carlos said "It's not cute anymore; she's seriously ass-whooping"
I had seen her videos before I saw her practicing with Michael Jackson so I knew she was great - so many great female guitarists on You Tube!
Nothing in your post refutes anything I said in my original post:

This is phenomenal. Such a mature expression for a teen... Fab!
Thank you for uploading this compilation.
She's Amazing. You can tell she FEELS every thing she plays.
The playing field has now been leveled Great!!!! Go girl!!!!!
I think I'm in love!! Incredible!!
Absolutely fantastic!!!

She's a good one,one of the best for sure.
Best wish's to her and thank you for posting this!
fantastic playing!!!!!!!!!
She gorgeous, and so talented on so many levels. She cand sing too
I honestly had never heard of her until today, so she's flying under the radar a bit. Only from just across the Tasman too. Pretty capable guitarista.

great guitar playing.great looks also.
(I made sure to close my eyes so I could concentrate on her playing, out of fairness to her.) Here's to more female guitarists making a name for themselves; they're out there, and I hope society matures enough so that these ladies get the same shot at the title as a male guitarist of equal talent.
she's amazing
thankyou for posting my John Dallimore video... he's incredible!

Beautiful woman, beautiful game, with a high level of skill to play the guitar.
there is a lot of great players out there. its impossible to pick the best because they all have their own style and we all like different style of music. to each their own as they say..... I think Orianthi is fantastic. lets all agree she can play.
