One reason to keep windows closed at night - In the past I had my PC in the hallway and my parents were happy when I moved it into my room because I was screaming non stop back in the days. Nowdays I'm screaming inside my head. Also - American houses are pretty thin - so ... there is that. I live in a brickstone house - so I have nothing to be worried about.
