OKAY EVERYONE, I know why Q2 (a) does not have a negative sign, we are technically finding the difference in deceleration (difference in speed) so we use 750000(84-42) instead of the normal m(v-u) formula, but we could still use the m(v-u), (just remember to remove the negative) but you won't get a mark for the working.
no it is correct formula its just that impulse can be negative or positive just like force so it is not necessary to put the symbol, in exam they might see the values we are putting for v and u so it is better to write 42-84 . Hope this helps correct me if i am wrong

That's a good content idea but I'm already short of time to upload past year papers so I don't think that can be done within this period😓 Sorry for that but you can always do your revision on your own using your textbook and doing past papers🙏
I DON'T GET PHYSICS MARK SCHEMES!!!!!! WILL THEY REDUCE MARKS IF WE ARE 0.1 AWAY FROM THE 'ANSWER ' ??!! LIKE IN QUESTION 2b I literally entered it into my calculator and I got 4 NOT 3.9!!! PLEASE REPLY. P.s 《ur vids help lots thx 😂 , im just pissed at the strict mark SCHEMES.》
9:15 in the calculator I got 57.14... , but in the mark scheme the answer is 57 (without) decimals. My question is: Is it better to always round the numbers or it is okay to write an answer without rounding?
In d 1st q second part why are we dividing by 74 since he is even stopping somewhere for a few minutes..is it necessary to take that distance into consideration?
There is no force mentioned in the question so we move to the next equation we know about impulse which is change in momentum and change in momentum is mass into change in velocity
An explanation for question 2a for people who didnt understand Basically you use impulse formula as m (v-u) Then you put in the values 750,000 (84-42: 42) : 31,500,000 kg m/s So the answer is 3×10^7 kg m/s
Ik I'm so late to the party , but 2a I'm getting so confused coz isn't multiplying (750000*42 - 750000*84) gives a negative answer ? Like which is the initial speed and final speed ? **Not onli this qn , but in many qns when they ask find acceleration sometimes gives a negative answer when the final velocity is lesser than initial .
Hmm yeah true it's confusing. Impulse is supposed to be m(v-u) but they don't wanna put negative signs infront of the impulse and the force for the next question (stated in the mark scheme) so I didn't include the negative signs. The initial velocity is 84m/s and the final velocity is 42m/s btw but they just didn't put the negative sign there. For acceleration, yeah there are negative signs. Acceleration = (final velocity-initial velocity)/change in time and if the answer is negative, we say the deceleration is positive. So sometimes, when we wanan find the deceleration, we would change the formula to (initial velocity-final velocity)/change in time to get a positive number for deceleration.
OKAY EVERYONE, I know why Q2 (a) does not have a negative sign, we are technically finding the difference in deceleration (difference in speed) so we use 750000(84-42) instead of the normal m(v-u) formula, but we could still use the m(v-u), (just remember to remove the negative) but you won't get a mark for the working.

q2, why cant we use the formula F * T for impulse? 3:40
i gues they didnt expect anyone to use ft..if you calculate the gravity isnt 9.8 here😂 i guess this train isnt on earth

In question number 2(a) if we use (750000*42)-(750000-84) it is giving us a negative answer! Should we use 84 in the place of 42?
yes i also have the same question

in question 2a why is the impulse + if you solve that wouldnt you get a - answer
exactly
Hi, can you please tell me in how many significant figures should I write my final answers?
3
should my answer has be to be rounded into 2 significant figure/ standard form everytime?please reply
yes
10:46 isn’t that usually mercury?
You mean the bead of the thermometer? Yeah the substance used as the liquid is mercury but that specific part of a thermometer is called a bead.
The IGCSE Channel ohh
An explanation for question 2a for people who didnt understand
Basically you use impulse formula as
m (v-u)
Then you put in the values
750,000 (84-42: 42) : 31,500,000 kg m/s
So the answer is 3×10^7 kg m/s
but the anwser is 3.2x10^7
but why?
Thank you
Thank you soooo much
No worries😚
2.a Why round it to 3.2? not 3.15 ?
What is the lectures name how can I DM her she's very good ❤
