- This is Pi our Mexican red crown Amazon. He was a little excited to see us up and moving around earlier than usual this morning and wanted to talk to us.

Muy chistoso pájaro. That's a real funny bird. Mashallah.
We used to have one of those, they are loud but beautiful birds
We used to have a lot wild red heads in the South Texas but they keep clearing out their tree hallows. 😡
I'm sure they can be pretty destructive to their not usual habitats!
@@kenzietage They make good pets to people that know what they are in for. People's wonder why there have been red heads in Southern California. Someone in 1900 caught one in Mexico. And ran off and found another.
My red headed parrot doesn’t talk , just whistle and make noises. Yours is very good for a red headed.
There meow sounds like my red headeds hello lol
Hello, adorable! Does he get aggressive and does he bite?
I use have that parrot name petie. Now got orange wing parrot name Rocky ❤❤❤❤❤your video
Thanks a ton! I plan to do more and do parrot education here in the future. Stay tuned :).
Pi is a good girl. Shes come a long way and we are in the process of training for outdoor freeflight!
I love Orange Wings - they are absolutely gorgeous.

I know this is from a year ago, but i’ve been considering adopting a green cheeked amazon from a local sanctuary. Are they loud/screamers? I already have a sun conure so im not sure another screamer would be all too great
Hey! So sorry for the late reply. I intend to use this channel in the future regularly uploading, however I am still figuring some things out regarding how I want to use it (will still be parrot related).
Pi my MRH amazon is a screamer only when she (we DNA tested her! surprise!) is hungry and is requesting food. Sometimes she will scream if she feels she wants to come out of the cage or bird room and spend time. As far as random screaming for no reason, she doesn't do that. She's more talkative than anything though when she is hanging out with us, and I leave the room, she may scream. I am curving that behavior by asking her to follow/fly to me when I leave, so she knows that she can come to. It's helped a bit, especially since we are doing recall training.
Actually the South Texas area is just on the outline of their native territory. They exist in large cities in Mexico and South California from ignorant people spraying them out trees and escaping.
What age do they start to talk? I have a 7 month old red head he is copying my whistle right now but not talking
Repetition helps. They also only learn what they want to learn. Make sure you feed your parrot pellets and plenty of veggies. And make sure you keep all windows and doors closed when they are out.
Just keep teaching him what you want him to say
Flame X thanks he trying to say step up but it’s not that clearly but I know it will take time and times we think he says hello or hi
