Quick note, but this is my first time making a guide let alone really talk to a recording for an hour straight and even though I've been in NA for about 5 years, English is still my third language so I think about 3 different things I want to talk about and I end up side tracking a lot from the main point. Point is that I think I touched on most things I want to talk about but If you're more intrested in viable builds and fun options I included more in the mobafire guide that I made (that's in the description) but I kind of realize more that people mainly care more about fun options you can go than Best in Slot sometimes which makes me happy the game isn't always TOO serious as I always see . Though making this Guide kinda was a learning experience on how to make one so the next one I make i have more ideas (like better presentation with slides, etc..) so I'm kind of excited whenever things change I can make maybe even more in-depth or straight to the point ones. For now this will do and I'm happy with how it turned out overall. P.S. I made this video with 2 hour sleep and it took about 4500 words script initially with 4 hours of footage before this but I ended up scrapping it since me just reading off of a note felt too unnatural and I wouldn't be proud of it If I did that way.
Nice guide. I wanted more matchups info but is already a 1hour long video so I understand. However the Runes and Builds part is so good, I get many useful info. Keep going 👍🏼
It is very useful to make these videos when there is no tutorial content for Sylas on UA-cam. Please share short 10-minute summaries of the matches you played instead of making entertaining content (such as nashor sylas, ad sylas)
@@gidisat0 ohh that's a good idea thank you for sharing, I didn't think people would honestly care or even let alone like me just talking into my camera for an hour straight ngl but I would be so down to do more educational stuff

@@PetriciteLoL I’d love to see a video on that if you do! The matchups help a lot, and learning to max Q is helping so much on my farm. Good to know he’s the worst farming champ and it’s not all me 😂
@@LeagueForeChill Oh yeah, very funny fact but I'm glad! I love maxing Q whenever I can though it's for sure not an everygame type of playstyle as it is much harder. But I should be doing that in the near future :D !!

Hmm that's a good idea actually, I think talking about matchups itself is definetly a video if itself but I can just play a matchup and go about being educational in those, it would take long but I could make for every one of them eventually. But thank you so much I appreciate the advice and the kind words
Appreciate the guide! Would you ever fit liandrys into your build some how? I feel like in those games where they have like 4+ frontliners, I really struggle to do any damage unless I’m able to get on the adc every time. I never see anyone build it on Sylas though
Ayy of course! I used to run Liandry like almost every game when I was top last split but the -20 AP nerf is such a big deal that it kind of killed the item overall. I think it is still possible with Q max but as much as I hate going it every single time, It's never going to be better than Rocket as first item. I think going ROA > Cosmic > Rift is the most viable tanky build possible that also can play into those tanks
Thank you!! Some matchups can be rough and you might force your team to be triple AP sometimes if mid and jung is also AP but as a counter he shines most and the bad ones are possible to play with Q max and farming which can be boring but technically yes he can be 100%
@@mekhicalliste8732 If it's something like Aurora where it's a mid champ or squishy then I would do Rocket and anything else ROA since you're kind of forced to scale in Top Lane and wont be skirmishing much.
From a rank 1 sylas player could you answer 2 questions for me? Is it worth to one trick sylas?? either yes or no the reason why. I love playing sylas and I tried otp him but end up changing champ because i wasnt being able to win game. This was an year ago (like september 2023) . I like the champ , I have fun playing it and enjoy the outplay and damage potential. But at the same time Im a fairy bad player (peak emerald and most of the time plat or gold) . After sylas I end up changing to Qiyana which was good but after her ult nerf I dont have as much fun on her. I would really appreciate your opinion. Keep up the good work.
@@rd_l3g3nd @rd_l3g3nd Of course I love talking about stuff like this and thank you so much!! So honestly I've been in your situation before and I kept changing my mains from sylas to something else often but you said you tried him a year ago which I don't exactly remember the meta around then but Sylas currently is really good, I haven't felt the nerfs much at all from around 10 games I played this patch and he's one of the best mids in the game, just have to be not in a cringe matchup. But I do think it is worth one tricking him, especially now. I will say it's kinda like yasuo, where he becomes op if you have Zac/Diana as your jungler, you want to have at least 1-2 good ults on enemy before you pick it then the matchup you can just try to survive and be useful in teamfight with those ults. So basically I'd you can I wouldn't blind pick him and i like to second main Galio/Yone so in case they pick him I can counter Sylas with it. But I will also say it's a lot different than traditionally OTPing a champ beacuse bad ults for you can get you from S tier to B tier fast and his game changes everytime beacuse of it, after even that I think he is very one trickable, yes.
@@the_chains It is legit so underrated I should do another video on it since I don't see anyone talk about it nor playing with it, you can play so aggressive in lane that you're almost a different champ

@ Fair, yeah I figure it’s mostly a matter of not really needing more movement to stick on top of them, but I’ve really liked it against cass/orianna etc, the matchups where you wanna avoid being spam chased after your trades and It’s been working pretty well.

I just hope your next guide is more concise, categorised and straightfoward. I enjoyed the information gained from this video but watching it is quite tedious because it just very disorganised and a-lot of yappings. Sorry.
I get the criticism and I agree overall but there are so many things that go into runes or items with Sylas in general that I never seen anyone talk about it that I felt like I had to mention those. Me talking about things pre-emptively, like answering people's question I know they're going to have, like anhuanhuan and so and so that I thought adressing them would be just more informative but maybe not for the majority. Though one thing I do go over in the video about being able to skip to the next chapter If you only care about BiS builds which in this case this video is like 5mins + matchups (which I have to mention everything or what's the point?). As well as me mentioning about the mobafire guide if anyone wants to just take all the info in 1 seconds by looking at a site instead, so it's mainly optinal. Either way I appreciate any feedback and I definetly would try to make the next one more straight but it is hard to make both parties of people only caring about BiS and some other fun builds happy at the same time.
@@PetriciteLoL No it was no meant to undermine your effort; I completely agreed that Sylas is one of those champs that is more complex than meet the eyes and not many people play the champ itself. I would love for the next guide to be more focus on his niches and relevant powerspikes; macro-wise; knowing when or how to play for teamfights; pushs; when behind etc. I feel like you could've composed the build and runes in one part as it mainly Conq or Electrocute; Secondary rune depends on playstyle and matchup. I was more focused on the builds within the video as I feel like Sylas has a very confusing build path atm considering AP items stand out less, not one-sided or gold-efficient as they used to be used; which make the champ more fun to play as he can be customised for whatever you want it to be. Thus, with your experience and status, I am just more curious on what your opinions on certain items and builds you thinks best on the champ. But thank you for posting the video regardless.
@@justinhuynh7263 Oh no I completly agree, I should've asked around more on what other chapters I could've had and maybe even had a chapter of itself dedicated to fun runes/builds itself to divert attention in on its own part. I covered what first back and everything should be but not just base of champion, like you mention, the powerspikes were left a little untouched.
