      You absolutely should! Cart tracks sometimes allow small cc bikes to run, different heats of course. My local cart track is 9/10ths of a mile and an absolute blast of slower tighter turns while still rushing to 60mph in the back straight.

    • @Aberamentho2010
      @Aberamentho2010 3 роки тому +2

      @@davidwendel6080 : Kart Tracks? The Ninja 400 absolutely does NOT need to be limited to small Kart Tracks to enjoy. It is 100% fully capable of doing standard track days on standard Tracks alongside all the bigger cc bikes. This bike can easily get you to an advanced level. Seriously, unless you are running against high skill riders, the Ninja 400 is more than capable of keeping up. It's not until u start getting on the track with the higher level riders on bigger bikes that you really start to notice the lack of power. Not only will they match you in the curves, they will just pull you hard on the straights. Otherwise, what it lacks in straightaway power, it can make up for in cornering & agility. The last track day I attended with my 400, during an intermediate session, I went around a few larger cc bikes (including a Ducati Panigale and a BMW1000rr, both were on slicks). smh. that was funny.

    I cut my teeth on a modded-out Bandit 400 at Summit Point. that ride was a blast. I remember the grid was me and a bunch of FZR 400's. Great racing because they were only slightly faster and only a few could beat to the checker.. moved on to an SV650 after the Bandit got tired. 10 years later, post racing days, I get to fly around on my VFR400 NC30 & ZXR400.. Little bikes are far more fun.. would LOVE to get my hands on a TZR250 eventually.. love the channel.. Gum

    As a returning rider who bought in at the 300 range as a sensible return to motorcycling I have zero regrets. Granted after a year and 12,000 miles on my CB 300 F it is more than time for an upgrade of an engine and actual physical size of the bike and I did just that with an insane 08 1125r Buell. Surprise surprise I yeeked it the first week I had it. Service with me right not getting the MT-O7 I was actually shopping for.
    Now I still want an mt or trident but I don’t want to part with the Buell it’s just to damn amazing!
    Also after a couple of times at a cart track has me wanting to swap my little naked bike for a dedicated little track bike.
    AND THE 400 is exactly the bike I am considering. One because it has a bit more grunt then my 286cc Honda but also a slightly larger frame and the more aggressive stance that is appropriate for track riding.
    But the biggest thing is it’s allowed at both small cart and ‘real’ tracks
    DRZ-400🤔

    What are the things you would do to lightly race prep this for a say one track weekend per month? Just discovered there's a little track (Muselmann) close to home, and so really wanting to get back into motorcycles with a 400.

    I race a gsxr 750 k7. But I also race a cbr125 on gocart tracks. And thats just awsome. The honda needs better suspension though. It bottoms out in corners and scrape pegs under my 90 kg

    I'm so torn on the Ninja 400 or Z400 for my first bike.. I'm 35, went through the training course 15ish years ago. Didn't go anywhere with it.. stumbled on Yammie Noob here a couple months ago which has sparked my want for riding again... Stupid indecisiveness!

      You do get quick lap times on the smaller cc all depends on the track and your limits , the UA-camr is absolutely spot on , perfect for practice and beginners.

      The track that is closest to us is 3 sisters, you can't put a litre bike on it absolutely pointless never going to get all the power down it's tiny lol, I used an old aprillia rs250 (2stroke) great fun and it's cheap 😁
