He was a huge project and should have sat for at minimum a year and probably even a good bit into the second year and if the colts were out of it let's say halfway through the season then toss him in.
Starting him ruined any shot of him developing into a qb. Atleast right now.

Looking back at all the hype that Caleb was drafted into the best situation for a QB drafted #1 negates that Peyton had 2 HOFers in Harrison/Faulk and Luck had a perennial double digit win team that just happened to engineer a perfect tank the year their HOF QB was injured and a generational QB was available.
The problem with Caleb’s situation started with trying to operate with 1 RB who needs a good O-line to make plays, a Right Guard who was checked out and was thankfully cut before his QB got hurt and a sure handed WR they traded for who had a few key drops.

We were the best destination in his opinion because of how Poles set up this organization and roster, thanks in large part to the panthers trade. ✨domino effect.✨Also I don’t how you see Caleb Williams (starter), a starting tackle, DJ Moore (starter), a starting CB, a starting punter, and another starter to come as not a great haul but some of us don’t know what we’re talking about I guess 🤷‍♂️🤓

The problem with caleb by the time he hits 24 to 25 he will be on his next contract . While having to take at least 25% of cap because in that time he had to develop . Rookie contract is important . When he gets that next contract the things that would help him get wont be there since they have to pay 70 mil or more . Plus he would still have to answer questions about whether he can get it done. Thats my only cause to pause . For him as building a roster . But that could also mean you have his prime longer . But thats only in theory .

Waldron's playbook is one of the worst I've ever seen, their oline coach was horrible, the fact that caleb put up the numbers he did in that situation is honestly very impressive. I think Caleb will be fine. The pressure got ratcheted up due to the success by Daniels in DC but the situations were very different. Fix the o line in free agency, buy him some time.
I'm not sold on Drake Maye. I know people love him for his natural talent showing throw amidst a tough season but there were traits shown on his NE tape that still worried me from his tape in college. He can absolutely work out of those issues especially with a more secure roster and a head coach that demands more from his team so I'm not un-sold on him cause I never was sold to begin with (at that high in the draft). But I am very open to the idea he can improve with a more dedicated Vrabel in charge and I think the fan base taking well to him already indicates he's got a good cushion to work with to work those issues out.
I still think Anthony Richardson will be the most disappointing of the bunch you've shown when we look back 10 years from now based on a "draw em up" perspective. He looks every bit like the QB they drafted coming out of college and I'm not sure why they expected different in a organization that has never really been patient in developing at the position historically. I still think it was a mistake to put him out there, sit him behind a guy for a year get him mechanically going. His arm talent is undeniable but this is a league littered with the corpses of talented throwers of the football. But then again, I thought it was a bad fit for him to go to Indianapolis in general for the way they treat their QBs. I feel like if we see the ideal or potential version of him ownership, fans, and draftniks once hoped they'd see, it'll be with another organization like with Minnesota and Sam Darnold or Seattle with Geno Smith for a year or two and likely only after they rebooted his mechanics elsewhere.

If the Colts had been smart, they would have put Richardson on the Green Bay path to starting (ie: sit on the bench for 3 years) with a solid veteran running the offense during that time. Richardson found out the hard way that his freak athleticism means not much when every NFL player is an elite athlete. He seems like he's got a lot of growing up to do. But, as pointed out, he is all of 22 and most 22 year old boys are immature little twerps. I should know. I was one myself at that age. And so were you, for all the men reading this comment who are over 22 now.
