      This is what the “Jalen Hurts played the best game in the SB ever” crowd doesn’t understand. Yes he had a bunch of yards and accounted for 4 TDS. Two of them were literally the Diddy push and turnovers outweigh impressive stats. They were driving to potentially go up 21-7 and instead the score was evened up. If they’d won into half up 17 points instead of 10, the Chiefs simply would not have had enough possessions in the second half, assuming that the Eagles would’ve scored the TD and FG that they did in the second half of the SB. Can’t turnover the ball and expect to win when your opponent plays a clean game

      this is so so so so dumb and historically inaccurate. we literally just watched the bills lose a game with 0 turnovers while the chiefs had 1 and they still won the game. how many years ago was the Bucs Superbowl run where Brady threw THREE picks in the championship game. or how about Mahomes first Superbowl where he had THREE turnovers and still won the game. or how about Montanas famous drive for "the catch", where he won the game despite throwing THREE picks. and those are just *some* examples, because the vast majority of Superbowl teams had multiple turnovers on their way there. it's literally just recency bias cause the chiefs don't turn the ball over much anymore, but they are the sole outlier. the far more important metric to playoff success is defence forcing turnovers, as it gives your offense a short field, an extra possession, and a chance to make up for any prior mistakes. this turnover narrative is outright wrong

      Depends on your defense. In the case of the Commanders vs the Eagles, every turnover was a 14-point swing. In the case of the Chiefs vs the Bills, every turnover was a three-minute delay on an inevitable victory. Complementary football matters.

I don't know how it's possible to misconstrue what I say. yes limiting offensive turnovers is very important, but avoiding it totally is near impossible and you'll shoot yourself in the foot if you rely on just that. what IS important is your defenses ability to force them. a good playoff defense isn't one that only lets in 19 PPG, but one that forces 10 turnovers on their way to a ring. it's such an underrated side of the game, cause aside from all the things I stated in the first post, the morale and momentum swing it causes literally can't be quantified

    What I learned from the 2024 playoffs is that coordinators shouldn't be allowed to interview for other jobs while the team they are working for is still in the playoffs, otherwise they may draw up a flea flicker to Jamison Williams to have him bootleg to the right and then throw a 30 yard pass into triple coverage to ice the season so that coordinator can announce that he's going to the team he wanted to be with all along 2 days later.
    And also if Maholms fumbles there was definitely a defensive holding or something to give the Chiefs the ball back.

    To add onto the turnovers thing, the Commanders totally doomed themselves against the Eagles, after turnovers boosted them against the Lions. Especially that kickoff fumble before the end of the first half.
    The Eagles would have likely beaten them anyway (given their dominance that game). But a 5 pt lead at half vs a 15 pt lead are totally different animals, and weird things can happen. Washington made the comeback nearly impossible with that fumble

  • @jackfromm

    The lesson to learn from the 2024 Lions is that if you are absolutely dominating an inferior team, just take it easy and bench some starters. They kept running up the scores and getting their guys hurt for nothing. Look at the Chiefs - they never blow out teams by double digits like that but they’re in the Super Bowl and Detroit isn’t.

    Football is a game that benefits the biggest and beefiest athletes. It’s a game where the bigger and stronger you are, the more likely you are to win. In basketball, height contributes greatly to your likelihood of making the NBA and even more to your success in it. The teams that win football games dominate in the trenches more than anything. The ones that give the QB the best coverage, that open the run game, that pressure the opposing QBs or stop their run. The trenches are where football games are won.

      Can you be any more obvious than you already are? Also it's not enough to say Lamar Jackson will win Superbowls because he has multiple MVPs. That's the lamest and most tired excuse most Ravens fans use. He had a Top 3 defense and Stop 3 offense last year and STILL lost to Pat

    • @conayinka
      @conayinka 10 годин тому

      @@SuperMurray2009 the thing I dislike do much is when people say shit so clearly wrong and stick to it. Brady went 3 years without going to the Superbowl after his first dynasty, 4 years without going to the Superbowl after his 16-0 season, and another 3 years without going to the Superbowl after his 2nd kiss to Eli. throughout all that he had went a whole 10 years without winning one superbowl.
      and no I did not spend a whole paragraph glazing Lamar and crapping on Burrow, I gave reasons why each will and won't win a Superbowl. it is historical FACT that every multi time MVP QB eventually wins the big game, Elway, Favre, Manning. Lamar is on the side of eventuality as of now. And what I said about Burrow is also FACT. His franchise is terrible just like Brees was, meaning he won't ever get carried to a Superbowl, he'll have to do it himself. Something he has proven not able to do unlike Allen. people have talked so much about Burrows defense letting him down this season, and not the fact that he failed to close out MULTIPLE games in the 4th unlike Lamar and Allen. TWO of those games came against Lamar, where he threw a back breaking interception in one, and failed a 2pt in the other. It's also another FACT that QBs who lose their first Superbowl are unlikely to ever win another, bar Elway, who broke his curse due to his individual accolades, none of which Burrow has. If Hurts wins on Sunday maybe Burrow still has a chance, but if he doesn't Burrow needs multiple MVPs quick to get himself into historys good side

    • @WhiteG60
      @WhiteG60 13 годин тому +9

      Even if the peak was higher for Wentz, I'd take Hurts any day because he's a true leader. He's coachable, and does what is asked of him. The other players respect him and play hard for him and he vice versa. If you told him that the best way to help the team win was to mop up the locker room, he'd ask you where the bucket is so he could get started. Hurts knows he's a part of an engine. Wentz thought he was the entire car.

    • @RekttalofBlades
      @RekttalofBlades 13 годин тому +1

      Actual QB skill? Wentz. He was magical in 2016. Problem was his hero ball play and his mentality. One turnover crumbled him and sent him into a spiral. Jalen doesn’t shake, he stays locked in the whole game no matter what’s happening.

    Stop saying “the big 4” and omitting Herbert. It’s disrespectful. They made the playoffs and he carried them to 11 wins in the first year of a new regime/FO playing through multiple injuries with a roster full of huge holes, no weapons outside of a rookie, a terrible IOL and played at an elite level in the face of all that. He beat Burrow and the Bengals who didn’t even make the playoffs. Yes, the Chargers weaknesses got exposed in the playoffs just like any teams would. Texans great defense played press man and none of Herbert’s “weapons” could get open or catch the ball. The o line allowed 53% pressure on Herbert’s drop backs and multiple passes went through WR hands(2 of which led to ints). Herbert had a bad game, but it was only magnified due to serious lack of talent on offense and questionable playcalling. He’s been excellent his first 5 years in the league and has all the stats to back it up. He finally has competent coaching, stability and a good GM so miss me with this”big 4” like you have amnesia or haven’t watched Herbert his whole career. He special.
