Actually emailed Schluter thus week on the same issue and they recommended going up one size to compensate for some setting compound. I chose h=11mm for a 10mm tile. Great videos!!!!
I buy it the same size as tile, with some thinset behind it the tile surface is proud of the edging. When the glass goes in, the silicone covers the edging and makes it disappear.
No, I have not. But it works with any tile. Glass tiles are pieces of the clear glass with the colour or pattern painted on their back, you cannot see through. The mesh mounted glass mosaics may be just coloured glass and you have to make sure the tile leg of the edging is not showing through it, which is easy to do.
@@djVisionIT I had never used the SS edging. I do not justify the price of Stainless Steel for this application. It will be all hidden and it holds the glass way better than the usual way (U channel on the tile). Use kitchen and bath 100% silicone. Insert the glass into the channel and use clear plastic spacers to level and center the glass in it. Silicone all the way around the glass on the edge of the channel. The bottom edge of the glass should not be sitting directly in the channel. Good luck.
@@renovationtoperfection thanks for the prompt reply! do I apply silicone under the glass or only on the sides once the glass is inserted in the channel? Is there a silicone company you only use?

Thank you very much.

Thank you! This is so helpful. Is using the stainless steel version worth the $? This is a place I do not want to cut corners.
I do not think so. The aluminum channel works perfectly.
thanks
Do you use any product to get the glass to stay?
The glass guys put in the the channel and secure it with clear shims, than we silicone it all around. That's all.
Hi. Have you ever used this profile with glass wall tile?

I have 10.5 mm tile but 11mm is not in stock in time for my install. Can I install the 10mm and be ok?
Of course. Go ahead
@@renovationtoperfection have you used the stainless steel v2a version? Is it stronger then the aluminum? my glass panel is 40 by 80.
@@renovationtoperfection also what silicone do I use? I put it in first then the glass and let it cure?

Well crap, I saw this too late and mine is only 11mm deep when I needed the 12.5 *facepalm*
