    I figured the these aquifers were full of salt due to how close they were to volcano activity. But it’s very good news to know that a state of the house pumping station can be built to have piped water in Turkana county and its surrounding counties. With the potential to unlock vast economic opportunities.

    Shame on Kenyan leadership (Uhuru, Ruto & Turkana Governor) that a foreigner has to come and give water to Turkana and still the government can't encourage more and more of this but instead still taking forever to let this project maximize it's discoveries. Even this Dr. has said the government has been very slow to accept and make water freely available to Turkana people.

    Dr Gauchet should be awarded the OGW and this project should be well funded and included in the vision 2030 by the government.With the modern exposure to information,it's a shame that this kind of knowledge comes all the way and gets implemented by a french national.

    I have to write this purely based on my observation. If Turkana, Marsabit, Isiolo, Garissa, and Wajir Counties belonged to the white people what we would see is modern farms based on drip irrigation, solar energy, greenhouses, and water reserves, etc
    Northern Kenya would feed the country and parts of South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Somalia.
    White people of South Africa, the people of Israel are known to be excellent farmers. Transforming arid land to arable land.
    What we black people should do is learn from them. Government should do something in Northern Kenya. Do a pilot training program with the pastoralists, invest in them. This will grow wealth, curb drought and starvation, fight nutritional diseases, fight banditry ( bandits) and violence
    God bless Kenya.

      Israel is not food sufficient, it never has been and it likely never will be
      Pastoralism works, the government just happens to invest little in agriculture in general and the livestock sector in particular

      @@oliverwabwire2836 those colonialists are ruining Palestine with their water intensive farming, and burning of farmland that has been used properly by Palestinians for eons. Stop believing colonial propaganda, and read about how well the Palestinians used their farmlands before Europeans stole and destroyed it, to export European foods. The colonialists will dry out the land by the end of the century if they aren't stopped, and the land returned to Palestinians who know it better.

    • @smokeymcbandit
      @smokeymcbandit 2 роки тому

      To use white farmers in South Africa, and the colonisers of Palestine as good examples is wrong. Both those populations are colonialists, who thrive on theft of land and destruction of indigenous peoples' resources, brutalisation and oppression of the indigenous peoples, and redirecting food from the indigenous peoples to sell out of the country. How many times have they been engaged by the govt for this exact propaganda and failed because they weren't operating within overtly colonial systems favouring Europeans while greatly undermining indigenous peoples? Stop believing their lies.

    • @Lutherswift
      @Lutherswift 2 роки тому

      The white people you are mentioning are able to utilize proceeds of their conquering, colonizing, enslaving, and unfair trade practices well because they are not corrupt-minded and divided like we are. In a place like Kenya you find swathes of dirt poor villages voting only for ridiculous reasons like keeping Raila out of power and to divvy up jobs/ resources between Kikuyu/Kalenjin rather than for good governance. Corruption is rife in every sector with cartels squeezing all profits out of the ordinary mwananchi. Once we start voting for good governance, we will see a change of fortunes in all areas of our lives.

    Ok it seems that aquifeirs are found where the sources of water are usually mountains and the water finds fissures under ground inorder to flow. If this is the case what about areas surrounding mount Kenya, aberdares, and kilimanjaro where does the under ground water coming from these mountains and hills go to. Can the RT guy do an under ground survey for these potential areas

    Wow the pesissm of our leaders. Does it always take a muzungu to push the govt into action? This is the same scenerio with the wind power in Turkana it took a muzungu to convince the govt that you can actually get massive power from the wind in Turkana and look what happened. The wind power in Turkana became one of the largest wind power projects in the world. Now the govt is being told turkana has massive water, why not invest in the aquifiers and use the water to create massive agri production estates that would ensure food security and export. Why not use the oil revenues and explore the aquifiers and bring them to use.
