it isn’t just “fake diving”. anyone can get their legs sweeped and just stand back up or keep their balance and carry on. players dive to signify to the referee that illegal contact was made, this is done to win a “fowl”, if a player is fowled then the game is paused and they get a free-kick or a penalty. so basically they get a free shot at the goal. plus if u think they’re just pure actors then watch a football (soccer) injury compilation, players have sharp studs on their cleats what tear skin easily

Best goalscorer: Ronaldo/Messi (still debatable and ronaldo may overtake messi at the end of their playing days in terms of numbers, each will have their own unbreakable records for discussion, but messi will have the overall better ratios in club football and ronaldo will be undisputable GREATEST goalscorer in international football and one of the highest if not highest goalscoring footballer in history of football)

i do get why it’s hard to watch football if you’ve never been into it or played it, in america things like basketball are very fast paced so it’s gripping so when u watch football and udk what’s going on u can’t stay entertained. When it’s 0-0 in football and u know football u can see all the little things the players are doing to stop teams scoring or try find a gap so they can score, things like when centre backs step up to play offside or a striker making a run in behind to make space for another player or a false 9 dropping deep to make space in behind for the wingers. If it’s ur first time watching u don’t notice that because how would u know what offside is even, u have to invest a little time into it to understand it. The easiest way to get into it is to just watch one midfielder in a game and watch all the little things he does and put urself in his shoes to think what you’d do and you’ll realise why they’re so talented
