That you realize what has been said
You look at me as if you're in a daze

When you realize you don't know what you just read
What are words for when no one listens anymore
What are words for when no one listens
What are words for when no one listens it's no use talkin at all
I might as well go up and talk to a wall
'cause all the words are having no effect at all
It's a funny thing am I all alone
Something has to happen to change the direction
What little filters through is giving you the wrong impression
It's a sorry state I say to myself
What are words for when no one listens anymore
What are words for when no one listens
What are words for when no one listens it's no use talkin at all
Do you hear me
Do you care
Do you hear me
Do you care
Let me get by
Over your dead body
Hope to see you soon
When will I know
Doors three feet wide with no locks open
Walking always backwards in the faces of strangers
Time could be my friend
But it's less than nowhere now
Less than nowhere now
Less than nowhere now
Nowhere now
Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow
Pursue it further and another thing you'll find
Not only are they deaf and dumb they could be going blind and no one notices
I think I'll dye my hair blue
Media overload bombarding you with action
It's getting near impossible to cause distraction
Someone answer me before I pull out the ... plug
What are words for when no one listens anymore
What are words for when no one listens
What are words for when no one listens it's no use talkin at all
What are words for when no one listens anymore
What are words for when no one listens

This is for Bozio and I hope reads this. Bozio is a GOAT!!
Thank u Dale...Boston Strong...Medford Strong...Talent aplus...
one of the best bands ever with one of the best drummers ever and the rest of them are insanely great musicians as well.
I want to go back to the 80’s, everything was original!😻
Love her squeak. Great band and time. If we go back to the 80s, please leave your current baggage in the 2020s.
I have tried to sing along with this tune and just can't do it....she goes all over and the words are not easily sung words in some spots. She was fantastic in this song
Great song. Great voice. Great band. Beautiful Goddess.
I thought this song didn't exist. I first heard it back in 2010 and the chorus has been stuck in my head for years since then and now I've found it.
I'm an 80's kid, so this song and the band are very familiar. But, this particular live video made me realize Missing Person's drummer is a BEAST! So, I go an look him up and sure enough his resume is a mile long! Worked with Zappa, Modern Drummer Hall of Fame! I think few people new back when this song was released.
We knew 👍
We did. Terry was well respected by Zappa fans, and Dale was Mary in the Joe's Garage saga. Alot of us showed up for Missing Persons.
They were so so so so underrated.
You obviously don’t know anything about them.
@@jumpinjojo My bad. They were so so so overrated.
definitely one of the pinnacle bands of the 80s !
One of the best live recordings I've ever heard of it.Hats off to the band and the sound mix
They were so freaking talented. Thanks Frank! They really stood out from all of the other "new wave" acts of their era.
how am i just discovering this now? how did this not become huge? their tighter live than most are in the studio!
This is new wave 80s at it's best the style and glamor Dale fits with the music they need to be in the R&R hall of fame hands down
Terry Bozzio is one of the greatest drummers of all time.
Missing Persons should have been bigger than they were allowed to be.
Hard to believe I remember this festival at the age of 6/7 years old!! Now 48 years old!!!
The live version is astounding❤❤❤❤❤
This bands songs were mixed well in the studio so the radio versions always sounded awesome on a good stereo system.
This band could really bring it live. Great!
Wow I never saw them on stage before, only on the radio. They're GREAT!!!
Dale is just so cool and outrageous! Love her to bits! Terry takes the most tasteful of chances!!
I was there that day, these guys were great! It was hotter that hell but the crowd was in a great mood and the bands were all great.
I just found a t-shirt in the bottom of my closet. 83 US Festival. I was at this and I don't remember a thing.
Must have had a great time!
dont you remember that you borrowed a 100 bucks from me at the concert.
Yeah, I'm calling bullshit on that one.
Gordon Cuffe LOL!
Jeffrey Wolf You made me lol. I know the feeling. Went to the world series of rock back in the 70's. Have minor memory of the entire day. They say if you lived in the 60's and 70's and remember it, you did it wrong!
They were Frank Zappa's band in the late 70's. Incredible musicians.
She was Mary from the bus
One of my favorite lines. Mary from the bus:
“ well, information is not knowledge, knowledge is not wisdom, wisdom is not truth, truth is not beauty, beauty is not love, love is not music, music is the best.”
Briefcase Boogie from Thingfish comes to mind. Absolutely bizarre.

Yep. And there's one common thread about Frank's Band Members. You did Not get to be a FZ Band Member if you weren't the Absolute Best and Cream of The Musical Crop.
Mediocre Musicians Need Not Apply.
They worked with him. Terry was his drummer for years. They were not his band.
Surprised (due to my ignorance) how good they sound live . Obviously saw their videos on the mtv rotation back then but never realized how good they were as musicians and tight as a band. Drummer is great. Guitar sounds great live.
ONE OF THE BEST SLEEPER SONGS OF THE 80'S
Saw Missing Person’s in 80-ish @ the Paramount Theatre in Portland, They were the middle act, playing after Aldo Nova and just before the headliner, Angel city. She was fantastic - they sounded just like the album … good times…
Their music gives me straight goosebumps for the entirety of the song
Warrens guitar tone is amazing. Sounds just like the recordings tone. I'd like to know his rig rundown. The band's compositions were incredible definitely one of the greatest band from the 80s
Noticed in this live video he's running 2 Carvin half stacks. I agree the tone he has is great.
i rewound it a few times after the bridge fck'n thick and powerful 2:25
His sound was constructed by Frank Zappa guitar tech Thomas Nordegg who has been doing guitar tech/rig building for Steve Vai, Kiss, Warren after Missing Persons, and currently on the road with Lindsay Buckingham. He's based in LA and is a monster and legendary guitar sound wizard.
