    It is a shame that this kind of thing has not been updated and remade and a modern version produced for a contemporary audience, as beginners material for Lutheranism is woefully underrepresented.

    I love the Lcms. I love my choir. I love my Wednesday Bible studiy. And I can't wait till Sunday. It's about God living in you. I know my own.My own know me. Yes, the Bible says Grace through Faith and not our works alone. I was raised Catholic but had a German American Methodist grandfather and English American Anglican Episcopalian great grandfather. But we also created in HIS WORKMANSHIP, ordained to do the righteous works in HIS NAME. I believe also in the true, Divine, Spiritual presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, not the crucified one. I believe this what all Christians believe and why Christ suffered, died and rose again gloriously to gain our salvation. I and my friend Alecia worship in an Assembly of God congregation. I believe in the two sacraments the Lutherans believe in, Baptism and Holy Communion, no others.

    I was on a spiritual quest years ago to find something close to the early Church. I had been raised in a non-denominational church and felt it's teachings and practices were shallow and not at all much like the New Testament Church. Through my study and searching, I found the Lutheran Church and later became Lutheran. I felt at peace here and it seemed more like a modern form of the Church Jesus started.... but I noticed something that really bothered me. They mentioned the Blessed Martin Luther more than Jesus...a lot more. It didn't seem right, so I restarted my searching and went to a local Catholic Church. They welcomed me with open arms and after a time , I was confirmed into the Catholic Church. I felt like I was finally home. Then , in the last few years the awful things that have come to light concerning the Catholic Church and with some of the strange things coming from the mouth of the current Pope, I wonder if I made the right decision. I pray daily that I'll know what to do. So I just stand here where I'm at , not attending either church.NIot knowing for sure which way to go. Maybe this has all been for nothing. Maybe it doesn't matter at all where I attend . Does our Lord really care. I put my faith in God alone . In our Heavenly Father, His only Son Jesus and His sacrifice for all of us, and the Holy Spirit.

      Church is guided by God but led by man and therefore, it is in nature also sinful. Finding a church that lifts you up/strengthens your faith is hard and finding one you agree with 100% is near impossible. I hope you were able to find one you feel good in! I have been a Lutheran my whole life and very rarely hear Martin Luther’s name in our services but Jesus and the Bible are always central to our worship. God bless!

    When I became Lutheran about 18 years ago it was after reading Jurgen Moltann's book The Crucified God. He did make some good points about theology of the cross. So I read some of the stuff Luther said about theology of the cross and realized, Luther really took the incarnation seriously. God really became 100% human. So St. Paul could speak of 'the weakness of God' (1 Cor 1:25) since the incarnation was real. Thus, the cross was an event between God and God. God wrestled with God on good Friday as the Son offered Himself up to the Father in the power of the Holy Spirit. A Christian is someone who But to my disappointment, the president of Lutheran church Canada a few years ago told me, "God and creation must remain separate." Then my logical brain said, wait, if God really became fully human, the Word through who the Father spoke all things into being became so at one with creation, in Christ, Creator and creature are one person. I was just shocked. Eventually I left because of other reasons.
    Nonetheless, I am not anti-Lutheran. From what I know on Luther, he strikes me as a mentally ill very very angry man. The hatred he seemed to show toward anabaptists and his contradictory statements on the Jews well, then again, in the Bible some of the greatest figures were just as evil as Luther. There were the sexual sins of David and some other figures in the Old Testament for example. So I can still recognize him as a great theologian. I met a few Lutheran zealots whose sense of security lies in being Lutheran-the system which was developed which bore the name of this man.
    What we need in the body of Christ is real humility. I am tired of hostility. Christian leaders who are thoroughly trinitarian and take the incarnation and the cross seriously. True security is hidden in the insecurity of the cross. The cross is the end of human beings trying to work our way up to God since we die with the Lord Jesus, in a mystical sense, of course. But that does not mean it is not real. In our culture now we have a kind of mysticism where subjective experience is an end in itself, without holding to any dogma. But as orthodox Christians we do have dogma to judge whether mysterious things are of God or not. What we need is to humble ourselves before God and share in His holy cross. That is what the broken body of Christ needs.

      Luther was a sinner, just as you and I. There are greater sinners and lesser sinners, all whom need salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.

      Simply put speak to the pastor and attend the adult information classes . Ask questions and pray. I was born Lcms and grew up in a predominantly Catholic AND Jewish neighborhood. I went to 9 years of a small lcms school. Thank God daily for that foundation. It as a kid of course I questioned . I did t want what my parents said I had to do but what my faith journey led me to. Hod was always with me. I even had a very bad man as a pastor who hit on me as a young girl. My dad and he were friends too. He almost destroyed our church. This goes to prove one human is NOT the church. Humans are flawed except for Christ . Luther was human too so he was not perfect but his reformation was real. He was Gods instrument. My husband was raised Methodist and taught by his parents that he had to be Methodist . I introduced him to
      My
      Lcms church (not the one previously described ). Out of the gate the pastor said “ if it’s in the Bible we believe it.” He’d heard too
      Many issues related feminism and social issues and being biblical stuck with him. We’ve been married 30 years. He’s an elder in our church, our DIL is on the deaconess program and did not grow up Lutheran. Her dad committed suicide when she was 18 and her Baptist minister said he would be in hell. She needed the good news of salvation not related to
      Our works yet her work is tireless . Just come. There’s nothing to do but believe the Bible and love Jesus.

      It is not about religion (and not about a building, the building is not the Church). It is about "turning to God", seeking Him, for salvation, getting born again by the Holy Spirit. All can be born again if they repent and believe the Gospel of what the Lord Jesus Christ did on the cross to save guilty sinners. That He died on the cross (the righteous for the unrighteous) for OUR sins, that He was buried and rose again the third day.
      But most think they are a good person (even people who say they are Christians), so they don't really see the "need" for a saviour, first we must see we are NOT a "good person", that we are evil and on our way to hell, then we will call out in truth to the Lord Jesus Christ to save us. A "good person" trust they are good enough to enter heven (not understanding yet how wicked our heart is), and don't yet see the need of a saviour (trusting their "good works"). Someone on a battlefield also has to aknowledge this, so they can call out for Jesus to save them, no need for water, only a repentant heart who see they are guilty and need a saviour.
      Psalm 14:2
      The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
      Jeremiah 29:13
      And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
      1 Corinthians 15:1-4
      Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you,
      which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
      By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you,
      unless ye have believed in vain.
      For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,
      how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
      And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures
      Acts 3:19-20
      Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out,
      when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
      And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
      Romans 10:9-11
      That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
      and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
      thou shalt be saved.
      For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
      and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
      For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
      Isaiah 55:6-7
      Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
      Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
      Matthew 4:17
      From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
      Romans 3:19-26
      Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law:
      that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
      Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight:
      for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
      But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested,
      being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
      Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all
      and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
      For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
      Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
      Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood,
      to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past,
      through the forbearance of God;
      To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness:
      that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
      John 18:36
      Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
      Isaiah 9:6
      For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
      Colossians 3:2
      Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
      Matthew 6:19-21
      Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth,
      where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
      But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt,
      and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
      For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
      1 John 1:8-10
      If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
      If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
      and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
      If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
      Isaiah 1:18
      Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord:
      though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
      though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
      John 3:3-7
      Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
      Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
      Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old?
      can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
      Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit,
      he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
      That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
      Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
      2 Corinthians 5:16-21
      Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
      Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
      And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
      To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
      Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
      For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
      Ephesians 2:1-5
      And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
      Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
      Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
      But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
      Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
      Psalm 118:8-9
      It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
      It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.
      John 14:6
      Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
      John 3:12-21
      If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
      And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
      And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
      That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
      For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
      For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
      He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
      And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
      For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
      But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
      Romans 10:17
      So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
      Galatians 1:3-5
      Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
      Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

      @@emsdiy6857 Most of my comment was important Bible verses to help a brother/sister in the faith, or help a unbeliever come to faith.
      Sorry you felt it too bothersome to read.
      I hope you have read the whole Bible for yourself, because it is even longer and even more important (to keep reading).
      Because most "Churches" are filled with deceivers (freemasons pretending to be Christians), and wolfs who don't want people to read the Bible for themselves, so that they will keep trusting people more than God.
      That is how they can deceive naive Christians, because they don't know the word of God, but trust their "pastor".
      Very important to seek God for ourself and ask God for understanding of what we read in the Bible.
      "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..." Hosea 4:6 say.
      And that is, because people who say they are believers do not read the Bible, their enemies deceive them and can easily lead them astray. It is harder for our enemies to deceive us if we keep feeding on the word of God. People are dying from hunger, even tho they think they are not. Becaue they say they are in need of nothing.
      Amos 8:11
      Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
      Revelation 3:15-20
      I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
      So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
      Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
      I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
      As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
      Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

      Romans 10:17
      So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
      John 8:31-32
      Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
      And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

      Bryan Bridges remember, Luther was first and foremost a Catholic. He wasn’t trying to smash his chosen faith, but change it from within. Obviously his intentions became much bigger than a simple German monk wrestling with questions he could not ignore. It resulted in the reformation. This didn’t sit well with anyone.

    I never felt so isolated as when I was Lutheran. Very cold and heartless. No prayer life, at least in Winnipeg. When I started a prayer meeting in the Lutheran church I was in no one came week after week. Why? Then they asked why their denomination was shrinking. Churches which do not pray kill themselves, even if they have right doctrine theoretically. But this will make people mad so I won't say any more. But I am sure Lutherans are different in other cities.

    • @paulnurmi302
      @paulnurmi302 6 років тому

      Why are you saying I have dismissed the church? All I am saying is in this particular body of churches it is infected with a demonic pessimism, although I am sure Don Matzat does not represent all conservative Lutherans. What the hell are you talking about by saying I have dismissed the church?
      Pessimism. Don Matzat said at the end of one of his chapters, do you feel worthless? His answer: you are worthless.
      The problem is, I talk with people who have very low self esteem. I don't just mean, not feeling good about yourself in the usual self absorbed sense. I mean people who do not know that God loved us enough to become man and die for us. I looked at the cross and concluded, humanity is infinitely valuable in God's eyes. Don Matzat and a few others I read and listened to said exactly the opposite. It was the extreme pessimism.
      I have not left the church. I originally thought maybe I could be Lutheran. Minimally Protestant; taking holy communion seriously and not rationalizing it away, among other things. I have seen this beautiful feast in which God incarnate feeds His beloved with His own body and blood as a mytersy to be celebrated not rationalized away as most Protestant churches do, and I don't know why. I take the church very seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never stopped going to church I am just trying to find a body in which I can fulfill my calling in life. I have never ever dismissed the holy Church.

    • @paulnurmi302
      @paulnurmi302 6 років тому

      PS no one made me leave this denomination. It just got to the last straw of me trying for years. But to say I have just left the church, why would you say that? It seems like conservative Lutherans are terrified of love. The Gospel is reduced to a mathematical formula and God is seen, not as love: the Father who really loves His Son and the Spirit who flows out of that beautiful, perfect relationship. Rather, someone they want to keep at a safe distance. So the cross is reduced to a legal payment. Rather than emphasize heart to heart relationship in which God incarnate really becomes the head and believers are really united so intimately with Him that we are His body (1 Cor 12) I was stunned a number of years ago when one of the presidents of LCC told me, "God and creation must remain separate."
      Since I am very gentle, I did not respond. But inwardly, I thought, the Word became flesh, you moron! I should have said something. The Word through whom the Father spoke all things into being became a member of His own creation (and I am not denying Chalcedon). The incarnation is real. That is what I loved about Martin Luther, although in some ways he really scares me. Look, I believe that Christianity is a mystical sharing in Jesus' death to life under the power of sin and we are raised with Him in the power of the Spirit into new life as members in His mystical body, the holy Church. Christian life is participation in Christ's relationship with the Father in the power of the Holy Spirit. So it is not a result of us working our way to God but God coming to us and bridging the gap through His own work. He descended to the depths of our separation on the cross and rose to become the head of one new humanity. That is always the way I have understood St. Athanasius. So yes, as the body of the risen Lord the holy Church is seated with Christ at the center of the Ultimate Relationship, the holy Trinity.
      In my simple mind, the holy Trinity is the Christian faith. Not an abstraction which does not make sense but the simplest truth even a baby can understand. But I guess when people are scared of love to hear what John says about God being this interdependent community (remember John 5:19-20 or 3:35, for eg.) in which they love us the same way they love each other (John 15:9; 17:23); and then the risen Lord pours their Spirit into the hearts of His friends so we might be one as they are one would be scary. So just reduce it to a legal, mathematical formula and keep the God they believe is scary at a distance. I am not trying to be pessimistic. It is just so tiring and lonely being in a community with such frigid people. I need the support of others. God made us to share in their life and we need to evangelize in a more Trinitarian way in the Church today. Our lonely world is desperate for this truth. And a lot of people are very close.

    • @paulnurmi302
      @paulnurmi302 6 років тому

      So it is selfish to desire the holy church to affirm the value of the human person in God's eyes? I do go to Church to receive the word and sacraments. Popularity? What do you mean? Faith in the holy Trinity is selfish? What do you mean? Did you read what I wrote? Liberalism? What are you talking about? I am not going to a church which denies the infinite value of the human person in God's eyes.

    • @paulnurmi302
      @paulnurmi302 6 років тому

      Yes, of course we do not work our way to God. That is why God became man. He trampled down death by His own death on the cross. Then the other side, Colossians 3, since we have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at God's right hand. Christians have died with Him. And our life is hidden with Christ in God. That is what I thought of in asserting we are seated with Him at the center of the Ultimate Relationship. Yes, He is our perfection. No longer I who live, but Christ lives in me (Galatians 2:20). Does living by faith mean no reliance whatsoever on other human beings? If we are made in the image of the holy Trinity, which Jesus made very clear, is an interdependent community of love, then yes, we do need each other. The Church in the power of God's Holy Spirit is a living image of the holy Trinity. We need to celebrate the way God has opened His life up to us. By sharing in this life by faith we are set free to love one another as Christ Himself first loved us. I am not looking for perfection.
      I realize the term self esteem is often used in a very selfish sense. Self esteem: I esteem myself very highly; a form of narcissism, that is not what I was thinking of in my opposition to Don Matzat. Rather, God valued us enough to pay the highest price to set us free us free from sin. To accept this truth by faith and abide in Him as He abides in us results not in viewing people Christ died for and the Father gave His Reason for being's own life for as worthless. Rather, the orthodox Christian has a far higher view of the human person than anyone else. See how highly God valued us. Even in our sin He still felt we were worth dying for.
      I am not looking for a perfect Church body. A profound pessimism has infected much of conservative Lutheranism. The devil is the ultimate pessimist. God said He made humanity in His own image and likeness. But then he told Eve if she really wanted to be like God she would have to disobey God. Then after she followed him and her husband joined her God made a covenant with her to redeem them through one of her offspring, who would be Christ Himself. So what I was thinking of in terms of valuing the human person was not the usual sense the term self esteem is used in our self absorbed culture.

    • @paulnurmi302

      Dear John
      I really started to feel depressed last night after I read what you wrote. I agree totally with your statement on liberalism, by the way. I think you misunderstood my criticism of a tendency among conservative Lutherans. You heard me say 'conservative Lutherans' then describe some dangerous, even demonic patterns. So your assumption (I guess, you will have to confirm this) seems to be, because of the negative experience for a number of years in some conservative Lutheran churches, I must be a liberal.
      That is not what I was saying. I have devoted my life to fighting for Christian tradition and the truth of God's word. I realize God's word is not always super simple and there is mystery. I also realize the Law does not save. That is why I emphasize the reality of that mystical sharing in Christ's death to life under the power of sin and being raised with Him into newness of life. The emphasis for me has always been on what God does. One of my number one difficulties (not with conservative Lutherans, but with the Christian community as a whole in our culture) has been with feminist revision of theology. I came pretty close to a complete breakdown in my thirties after going through years of hearing feminist revision even among people who claimed to root their faith in God's word. Irony: if the Father who eternally generates the Son is not a real person; neither is Christ the Son whom He eternally generates; nor is the Spirit who flows out of this beautiful, perfect love relationship. Then all relationship and all personality becomes an illusion. Yet in a desire to not offend certain voices in our culture we have people ashamed to call God He do not like to talk about the Father, and so on. The witches laugh as they worship their pagan goddess since they do not have to kill these pseudo Christians. They just get into bed with the goddess worshipers and the demons laugh.
      Yes, I believe Christ has opened the Father's heart up to the world. I don't know what you believe but I simply tried to look honestly and biblically at some very real problems in the denomination I was part of for a number of years. I went week after week. I even desperately tried to encourage others to join me in prayer, appealing to God's word. Remember 2 Chronicles 7:14? But I am still positive. I hope you are able to understand what I wrote to you. If not, email me directly at paul.nurmi99@gmail.com. In the risen Lord, God bless you.

    Question: the Bible says you need to be baptized to go to heaven. Jesus was baptized so that means the concept existed before he died. So what was the point of Jesus dying for our sins if baptism was already in place?

    • @pkcHainsaw

      Good question. The short answer is that baptism isn't a litmus test God demands of us. It is a tangible sign of the promise of eternal life made possible because of Jesus. Baptism was an existing Jewish custom that Jesus used and turned into a sacrament just as Jesus used the Passover meal to institute the sacrament of Holy Communion.

    At 9:39, the guy says, "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." WAIT! What is that name? He didn't mention a name in which we must be baptized IN! The Father has a name, and so does the Holy Spirit. We know the name of the Son. But that name is not given here. He merely says, "in the name of..." but doesn't mention that name above all other names. WHY? Isn't the name of Jesus important enough to use it in our baptism? Didn't Jesus come in his Father's name? Sure he did. He said so. That means, the name of the Father is "Jesus."
    The Bible says, Col. 3:17 "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him." Isn't baptism a DEED? Isn't it something you do a deed? Sure it is. Jesus, (Matthew 28:19) "¶ Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" What is that name? JESUS!!!!!! If that wasn't true, than rip Col. 3:17 out of the Bible!!! Doesn't the Bible tell us not to add or take away from this His word?

    We are not in need of daily repentance. Jesus took ALL OUR SINS. Yesterday, today and tomorrows. To repent and BELIEVE is all that's needed. The taking of the bread and wine is for the Jews. It's a covenant between Israel and Jesus. To which when Jesus returns he will again take up the covenant with his Jews. This ritual is not for the body of Christ. We do not share the covenant. We will not be in the kingdom. We are bound for heaven.
    Only those, Israel, who are God's people will enter the Kingdom.
    To take the Last Supper would as the body of Christ would mean you don't believe Jesus did it all. That you don't believe he took all your sins. That you look at yourself as unclean everytime you sin.
    God knew we would sin and sin again. Even if by accident. Not meaning to. It's still a sin. Since Jesus died for our sins we have no sin on us. Ever!
    So there's no reason to take communion.
    As The body of Christ we are in Jesus and he in us. When God our father sees us, he sees Jesus.
    It's wrong to take communion if your saved.
    When Jesus comes back to rule as King of his kingdom he will again have a covenant with his people. Not the body of Christ.

    We keep hearing that same old misinterpretation of the Bible - that no works are necessary. People, please listen: St Paul was speaking about the Jews who believed that if they ate the right foods, were circumcised and offered sacrifices, then they would earn heaven, i.e. works of the law. Obviously, we must obey the second greatest commandment, to love our neighbour as ourselves, and this means actually doing something, i.e. works of LOVE. 1 Cor 13:13 Love is greater than faith. Faith is just the beginning. We need to love. Love isn't just nice feelings and talk, it is ACTION. If we do not bear fruit in our Christian lives, we will be cut off. This is stressed many times in the Bible.

    • @sarco64
      @sarco64 6 років тому +1

      If we must obey in order to earn salvation, what degree of obedience is necessary? Actually, the Bible answers this. Anyone who obeys the commandments perfectly throughout his entire life will merit salvation. Anything less than total and perfect obedience will result in our condemnation. That is why loving our neighbor as ourselves does not merit our salvation -- because we do not love our neighbor perfectly. We are justified by God's grace through faith in the finished work of Christ. True faith is an active faith, one of the fruits of which is that we will grow in love for our neighbor. Obeying this commandment, which we will never do perfectly in this earthly life, is a result of our justification through faith, not a requirement for our justification.

    • @pbaylis1
      @pbaylis1 6 років тому

      sarco64. "What degree of obedience is necessary"? How about: How much faith does it take to be saved? Or indeed: How much face does it take to be shaved? At what point does a man go from clean-shaven to having a beard? Does one whisker make a beard? The fallacious logic of "How much does it take to be saved" can be expressed as:
      “X is one extreme, and Y is another extreme; there is no definable point where X becomes Y; therefore, there is no difference between X and Y.”
      FYI, we don't merit ANYTHING by obedience. Jesus said, “So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do’” (Luke 17:10). We are saved by grace through Jesus Christ, but salvation depends on our responses of love, faith and obedience towards Him.
      Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.” (John 8:31)
      Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.” (John 8:51)
      “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15)
      He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves
      Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him
      and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21)
      Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. (John 14:23,24)
      If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. (John 15:10)
      You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. (John 15:14)
      And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.” (Acts 5:32)

I never said anything hateful but only proclaimed that theology without studying God’s infallible Word the Bible is empty and only man made religion. Catholicism has proven all down the ages to be opposed to Christ and has taken on the form of the actual antichrist which was foretold.
      You are being called to repentance. To come to Christ who alone mediates between God and man.

    Q. How do Protestants make a liar of Jesus Christ?
    A. Jesus Christ says in Matthew @ - “And if he will not hear them: tell the church. And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican."
    ---"No" say Luther and all Protestants, "do not hear the Church, protest against her with all your might!”
    Jesus Christ says in Matthew @ - "And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
    ---"No," say Protestants, “This is false; the gates of hell have prevailed against the Church for a thousand years and more.”
    Jesus Christ has declared St. Peter, and every successor to St. Peter-the Pope-to be his Vicar on earth.
    ---"No," say Protestants, "the Pope is Anti-Christ."
    Jesus Christ says in Matthew @ - "My yoke is sweet, and my burden light."
    ---"No," said Luther and Calvin "it is impossible to keep the commandments."
    Jesus Christ says in Matthew @ - "If thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments."
    ---"No," said Luther and Calvin, "faith alone, without good works, is sufficient to enter into life everlasting."
    Jesus Christ says to Mary Magdalene in John @ - ''And Jesus said: Neither will I condemn thee. Go, and now sin no more.''
    ---Martin Luther - “BE A SINNER AND SIN BOLDLY, BUT BELIEVE AND REJOICE IN CHRIST EVEN MORE BOLDLY.''
    Jesus Christ says in Luke 13:3 - "No, I say to you: but unless you shall do penance, you shall all likewise perish"
    ---"No," said Luther and Calvin, "fasting, and other works of penance are not necessary in satisfaction for sin.”
    Jesus Christ says in Luke @ - "And taking bread, he gave thanks, and brake; and gave to them, saying: This is my body, which is given for you. Do this for a commemoration of me."
    Jesus Christ says in John @ - ''I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, IS MY FLESH, for the life of the world.''
    1 Corinthians @ - Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord.
    ---"No," said Calvin, "this is only the figure of Christ's Body, it will become his body as soon as you receive it." Other Protestants like you say, ''No, it is only bread.
    Jesus Christ says in Matthew 19:9 - "I say to you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, and shall marry another, commits adultery; and he that shall marry her that is put away, commits adultery."
    1 Corinthians 6:9,10 - ''Know you not that the unjust shall not possess the kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, {{[[NOR ADULTERERS]]}}, nor the effeminate, nor liers with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor railers, nor extortioners, shall possess the kingdom of God.''
    ---"No," say Luther and all Protestants, to a married man, “you may put away your wife, get a divorce, and marry another."
    Exodus @ “Thou shalt not steal."
    ---“No," said Luther to secular princes, “I give you the right to appropriate to yourselves the property of the Roman Catholic Church."
    Q. How do Protestants make a liar of the Holy Ghost?
    The Holy Ghost says in Holy Scripture:
    Ecclesiastes 9:1 - "Man knows not whether he be worthy of love or hatred"; Proverbs 20:9 - "Who can say: My heart is clean, I am pure from sin?''; and Philippians @ - "Wherefore, my dearly beloved, (as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but much more now in my absence,) with fear and trembling work out your salvation."
    ---"No," said Luther and Calvin, "but whosoever believes in Jesus Christ, is in the state of grace."
    Q. How do Protestants make liars of the Apostles?
    1 Corinthians 13:2 - "And if I should have prophecy and should know all mysteries, and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing."
    Galatians 5:6 - ''For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails anything, nor uncircumcision: but faith that works by charity.''
    James @ - ''Do you see that by works a man is justified; and not by faith only?''
    ---"No," say Protestants, "faith alone is sufficient to save us."
    2 Peter @ - ''As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are certain things hard to be understood, which the unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, to their own destruction."
    2 Peter @ - ''Understanding this first, that no prophecy of scripture is made by private interpretation.''
    ---"No," say Protestants, "the Scriptures are very plain, and easy to be understood."
    Other Protestants say: The Holy ghost reveals the true interpretation to the individual. __ Which is the reason why we have over 50,000 ''churches'' claiming to have the right interpretation and fighting with each other.
    St. James @ - ''Is any sick among you? Let him bring in the priests of the Church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil, in the name of the Lord."
    ---"No," say Protestants, "that is a vain and useless ceremony."
    Malachi @ - ''For from the rising of the sun even to the going down, my name is great among the Gentiles, and in every place there is SACRIFICE, and there is offered to my name a clean oblation: for my name is great among the Gentiles, says the Lord of hosts.''
    ---"No," says Luther and other Protestants, "There is no Sacrifice, it is only a meal".

    The argument has never been that you can be good enough to go to Heaven. The argument has always been you can be bad enough to go to hell if you have no interest in God's rules about nature. It is no wonder the teachings in this video led to the Third Reich.

      The video is incorrect. There are Three sacraments in the Lutheran Church: Baptism, Confession and Absolution, and the Sacrament of the Altar. The video mentions the Book of Concord, but the writers seem not to have read it. The three sacraments are listed and explained in it:

      curley I don't know where you get your information precious friend.. but the bible differs from your "belief" and not to be mean, but the bible is not based on your "beliefs" or because you're confused.. it's inerrant and infallible.... the most famous verse in the bible would differ from from what you think"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16"And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased" Matthew 3:17friend I have a video I want you to watch ok? it's for your benefitlove in Christ to you curly....ua-cam.com/video/WttHEoX3ZoI/v-deo.html

      curly watch this one too ok? it's important to know correct doctrine and truth.. I pray that if you have not read the bible you will start out by reading the book of john.. it says "No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also" 1st john 2:23... so you see to say what you just said... one sentence is a death sentence precious friend... the devil does not want you to believe... please do not laugh either " the preaching of the cross is to them that perish silly, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God" 1st cor 1:18.... I hope you didn't laugh.. I am trying to help you curlyua-cam.com/video/WGjp0MiIV8Q/v-deo.html
