That “tang” or “taste” is the taste of bursted tomato seeds. Some places use a “buzzer” for the tomatoes instead of crushing by hand...that blender or buzzer breaks open tomato seeds which are horribly bitter...fun fact!
Fun fact: it’s actually Parmesan. He’s said it a few episodes. “I don’t know if you guys pay attention but sometimes I’ll comment about the tang. I’ll take a bite and say “what is that tang”, I just found out that that tang I was describing was actually Parmesan.”

Francesco’s on Webber and Bahia Vista is good. Rico’s on St. Armand’s and Il Panificcio on Main are decent as well. The not good pizza places definitely outnumber the decent ones here though.
I like that bit at the end where the dipshit Godfather's Pizza manager thought he was styling on Dave, not realizing that he'd made a blunder so bad it almost sank the entire company. People like to say all publicity is good publicity, but not when it forces you to shutter the place for a day or two while you have an emergency meeting to figure out how you're going to un-fuck the situation.
His scale makes no god damn sense. Pizza he calls shit he gives 5.4 and then pizza that he absolutely loves he gives a 8.1 Not to mention he arbitrarily refuses to give an even number. He literally said in one video “man i wanna say 6.9 but that seems low, I can’t go to 7.1 though” as if there isn’t a fucking integer right in between those.

i can sometimes eat and enjoy bad pizza. but not if i'm paying for it or if its really bad. i had slices recently and it was a joke. the place looked as boring as the pizza was. everybody seemed slow and miserable. if i owned a pizza place it would be exciting and fun! i know, they said the same thing and then lost their passion as time went on.
It's so strange how some of the worst pizza actually looks like some of the best, just in terms of physical appearance. Yeah the flop sucks but a lot of these look gas.
