I did my first acrylic nail using the forms today and loved it. Nothing as fancy as this but it was easier than I thought. Thanks for giving me the courage to try.
okay!!! That was absolutely gorgeousness under glass!!!!! I loved the necklace around the smile line. That just set the entire look of that nail and ramped it up from a colorless design to a piece of jewelry at the fingertips. Gorgeous Kirsty, simply gorgeous!💅👍👍.... Brava👏👏👏👏👏!!!!!
I love all her videos, I may not comment on most of them but im always watching 👀. I need to go back to school for nails and I hope someday I will be as good as Kristy.. xoxo
Which 10 fools rate this video by thumbing down.....fools.....I loved this video. Watching cristy's video is like watching & sitting in a nail art class. Thanx for this video, dear
say if someone had natral long nails and wanted to keep them would you have to file them down for the acrylic nail application if they wanted to wear acrylics?
So during my early training we were told that due to the structure of the natural nail (kind of cross weave) that you should never use a 'sawing' action when filing them. I see you do this frequently, could you please tell me when it's ok to do this and when it's not?
Hiya on this video specifically about 30 seconds in this is clearly being done on natural nail. It's not the first time I've seen Kirsty do this. I am still very early in my training and haven't been told yet when it's ok to do this, so to get ahead of my training (to be a girly swot and answer the questions correctly) I'm wondering when it is ok to use the back and forth action on natural nails xx
I've noticed this in a few videos too, I have heard that you can use a diamond file with the sawing action, but have never heard of doing it on natural nail with a normal file, always that its a big no no so when is it ok to do so without damaging?
Two things why she does do it: 1st: the nail is dry 2nd: the file is fine enough to do it. I believe she's using the 180 grit which is much more gentle to the nail and doesn't do damage when you "saw" it. Most nail shop in the US use the 80 grit because it files faster and last "longer" since it takes a long time to go from 80 grit to 180 grit and until it unusable anymore
The "no sawing motion" thing is kinda passed around without proper explanation and so many people believe it without further speculation is the reason why EVERYBODY tells you not to do the sawing motion. It has gotten to the point that not so many nail tech actually know why. And still the teaching is still being preached nail student to nail student, nail client to nail client.
It appears that the way you apply the acrylic, you aren't taking a lot off the nail it's self. Here in America or where I live...they use the drill and it weakens the nails. I hate getting my nails done but I love it too. 😋 So there's always a dilemma whether or not to get them done. 😕
Same in Australia. I've often asked them to not use the electric drill and some will be OK with it but most just do what they want. I have super fragile nails due to medications so can't afford to have them damaged more. All the more reason for me to try and do my own nails.
Pamela im so sorry to hear you have had a bad experience but please understand the e file when used properly should not damage your nails. There are many techs that use it for every service they offer and have had much success. Unfortunately there will always be some who are lacking in knowledge, training and experience that can cause very bad damage to someones hands. #itsnotthetoolitsthefool 😊
Samantha Riordan yes I agree. I've been to several places to have acrylic nails or even gel polish and they have all used electric filing. They have always taken too much of the nail off and have caused damage to my nails. Wish I could find a place that could do them properly.
I am for one that has always wore the square nails I would love to where the ballerina or what they call the coffin now or the Stiletto but I do my nails myself and I'm little scared to even try have any suggestions

I don't think it needed the micro-beads or the stone. I think it detracted from the encased flowers, which are very impressive.
Or maybe the beads in the flowers😕
Stilettos are so not practical for me however her nail designs make me want to get them Love this
