  • It's Sunday and the trains are, for the most part, shorter. A couple of recent additions to my collection of motive power appear in a Wrenton video for the first time, a J50 and a Class 122.

      @rogerdB Yes, he's very interested in model railways. We have a model railway that he enjoys filming for his Dylington Model Railway channel. It's all done for fun and is not really prototypical, but maybe that will come as he gets older, he's (12). He does all the filming and everything else related to the videos . We will be working our way through your videos the next time he's here 🙂👍

    You mention in this video you're making another smaller layout. Any chance you could put some videos up of it being constructed? Wrenton is amazing and I'd love to see how something of this detail comes together!

      I 'm working in a fairly restricted space so no room for light stands and tripod I'm afraid. But my web site has plenty of photos of the build of Wrenton so you might find something of interest there. www.roger-beckwith.co.uk/mr/

    Pinch me I can’t believe that’s N-gauge. Really well done. What is the music playing on this please? I heard it earlier today and just cannot remember.

      Thank you. Digital pinch! Music is the first of Satie's Gymnopedies, orchestrated by Debussy.

    Looks suspiciously like Sawbridge in NE Essex.....

      Buildings were actually based on those in Finchingfield, so probably not far away.

    Hello Mr Roger, i have a question.
    I was wondering, what is needed to design such a beautiful railway, with so much detail? I tought maybe there is any inspiration taken of some real life locations?

    • @rogerdB
      @rogerdB  5 місяців тому

      Most of the non-railway buildings are based on those at Finchingfield in Essex, a village with family connections. It never had a railway, though.

    Hi Roger, I like to ask you something and that is how you made the fence by the road opposite the station where the statue is situated. I've used paperclips and copper but I'm not completely satisfied, especially now I've seen your fancy fence. Love to see your reply. Cheers Jef

    • @rogerdB
      @rogerdB  6 місяців тому

      Hi Jef. The fence around the small green is made from plasticard posts with small holes near the tops and fuse wire threaded through. A fiddly job.

    • @jefwisse1957
      @jefwisse1957 6 місяців тому

      @@rogerdB It must have been a fiddly job if you used fuse wire. I didn't think you can buy fuse wire or you have to work at a plant where this is produced. I use to work for a Dutch Telecom operator and they provided me with very thin electrical wire (0,5 mm) with I use to make fences and catenary. The problem is the soldering. I've never been able to get a clean soldering. Thanks for the reply.
