      Ooooohhhhhh, I already see one thing I did wrong. I completely missed that the actions are typically in the same region thingy. So if the card reads to do 2 damage, that can't be one in two regions, only two in one. Thanks again!

    When you flip an explore card and then put it in the Build space (as you are taking an Explore action), I imagine you are probably confusing the heck out of new people trying to learn the game. I would recommend doing what the rules state -- flip an explore card and then place it face up on the explore space. And don't move the cards down the row left until the game tells you to.

      Awesome game. Did go by slowly (mad worse by the fact it was solo as my wife felt sick) but I could easily see this becoming my favourite cooperative game.
      Quick question, do your cities stand right after taking 1 damage and laying on their side? How they show in the rulebook doesn't work for mine, they tip over more than it shows them doing.

  • @amcieks

    I know this video is half a year old, but I do have a question on the card played at 16:05. Wasn't it better in that particular situation to replace the town with an explorer instead of replacing city with town? Both effectively reduce the damage by 1, but having two towns means that next time they are building in that region they would build a city regaining 3 damage. If you'd leave one city and one town behind they would have to build a town which is only 2 damage. Am I missing something here?

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  6 років тому +1

      Hmmm I would have to re-watch to determine strategy, but my guess is you are right I was just eliminating the city which is harder to destroy as it takes 3 damage. Thanks for watching!!

  • @Maikalithion
    @Maikalithion 4 роки тому +3

    At approx 26:50 when you use the Favors Called Due, the 'gather' was used, I think this may have been done incorrectly. You 'pushed' the Dahan from sand where you had presence into the jungle space, wouldn't you need to pull them toward from 1 space away of your presence into that space instead?

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  4 роки тому +1

      I am pretty sure you are right - what is important is gather you pull towards presence and push you push away!

    • @aaronmontgomery4137
      @aaronmontgomery4137 4 роки тому +3

      One Stop Co-op Shop I think you did it right. You targeted the land 1 space away from your presence, then used gather to pull 3 Dayan into that land. It just looked like a push since you gathered all 3 from the same land.

    • @chrisgaskin5286

    • @adrianhill3797
      @adrianhill3797 4 роки тому +2

      The way that he plays is correct. He chose a location within one space of his presence. That is the location that the card affects. This is the location that gathers/ pulls the Dahan into it.

    • @valziboy
      @valziboy 7 років тому +1

      I keep seeing great deals on Runebound 2nd edition, sometimes with expansions. So hard to resist, but I think I wouldn't actually like it very much. Every edition of the game seems fairly random, and I can't tell which edition I'd prefer, even if they weren't too random for me. GAH. NEED TO STOP PAYING ATTENTION TO RUNEBOUND! ;)

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  7 років тому

      HAHAHAHA You know it is funny you should say that! You suggested to me Shadows of Malice, and I just got my copy and it appears that one is pretty random and you like it right? So you MAY actually like Runebound! And with the Unbreakable Bonds expansion. . . I will leave it there. Good luck resisting. I knew I couldn't!

    • @valziboy
      @valziboy 7 років тому +1

      Yes, that's very confusing. That's actually part of why I'm resisting - Shadows of Malice seems like the only game I want to be in that genre-slot -- the random epic storytelling RPG thing. (Gloom of Kilforth is the non-epic version of that for me.) I'd get rid of all of these if I could find something that made the game into a puzzle that created a similar story. I may eventually get rid of all of them for the randomness reason - I think it removes longevity/replayability for me.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  7 років тому

      Totally makes sense, still I am excited to delve into Shadows, so thank you for the suggestion!

    Hoping you can answer my questions 😊
    Can we repeat a growth option in the next turn?
    Can we reuse a power card after reclaiming?
    I also got major power "Poisoned Land" when it asks to put a blight and destroy all natives. Are the power cards supposed to be friendly bec why would I put a blight if it might be the reason for me to lose? 😅

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  4 роки тому

      It has been a long time since I played, so I am going to defer your questions over to BGG. You can ask there and people will help you out! I am pretty certain you can do a growth option every turn. Once you reclaim your cards they are all available to you. Poisoned Land must have a great effect, but it also hurts you since you are blighting the land! Make sure it is worth it!

    • @adrianhill3797
      @adrianhill3797 4 роки тому +1

      1) You can use the same growth option in the next turn.
      2) You discard a card once it has been used in the fast or slow phase of the game. You can only reclaim one in the spirit phase. Therefore you cannot reclaim one card until the start of the next spirit phase.
      3) 'poisoned land' gives 7 damage. This is huge. This might be the card that destroys the last city and 2 villages (probably winning you the game). Don't be scared to add blight sometimes (unless you instantly lose the game of course). Consider if the targeted location will have blight added to it soon anyway (if nothing is done)? Also, if there's no Dahan in the location, no Dahan get destroyed!

    A big mistake here. When you do the *Explore*, You turn the card and put it on *Top* of the drawing deck. You DO NOT move it. At the *End* of the invasion phase, you *THEN* move the cards on the left. Therefore, your mountain card was suppose to go to the *Build phase* at the *End* of the invarders phase. (So no building on the first round, because the spot is empty). It's on the second round that the building is starting.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  6 років тому

      nope first round there is a build.

    • @dchampagne68
      @dchampagne68 6 років тому +1

      If you look at the book, it does say *Turn the top card of the invader Deck *face-up* (You must put it on the space marked *Explore*, which is the top of the deck itself). There's no mention of sliding it right away and no mention of building on 1st turn (where did you see this?) . (It does say to Look at the invader Card in the build action, which there isn't on the 1st turn, because we slide the cards only at the end of the invader's phase)

      With gather, you pick a location and move adjacent things into that location. With push, you pick a location and move things out of that location. In both cases, the card will specify what types of units it can affect.

    10 minutes in and I still don't understand a thing of what happens. I need to go back to the setup video I think because I have no clue of what is the goal of the game. Damn, I'm so slow... Not sure this is a game for me.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  7 років тому +2

      Sorry Franck! So the goal I talk about in the setup video, but let me explain. The goal (which can change) is to eliminate all of the invaders on the land. That is nearly impossible, BUT if we create enough fear, the goal becomes easier. After we have created 24 fear (3 fear cards) we change the "to win" objective by only needing to eliminate the Cities and Towns. If we generate another 24 fear, we only will need to eliminate the Cities. If we generate ANOTHER 24 fear, we automatically win! So depending upon your strategy, you can win in different ways. That is why it may be difficult to follow at first. As you watch though it will start to make sense I think.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  7 років тому

      Yeah the gameplay is wonderful ones this game. Trying to manage elements, abilities, presence, power generation etc. creates a wonderful puzzle to solve! Plus the fact you know what the invaders will do except when it comes to exploring is worth it. Love the predictable randomness!!
