Working on a 1999 zx6r, the carburettor gaskets were different from what I ordered. At 8:26 In the video is basically showing what I mean. I have no Idea if this will cause a problem in the future being the slightly wrong shape but am going to fit them anyway. Thanks for the video mate.
For removing fuel lines get a door panel removal tool it has flat end with u shape cut out to hood door plugs can grind it out and works good for fuel lines by pushing on 2 sides of hose. I go one back in dirt bike days as I removed hoses so often it keeps from messing up hose ends.
Hey I have a 2000 zx6r aswell an it is dying when I give it throttle and don’t idle without choke any thoughts I was thinking maybe the carbs not getting airflow or pins could b clogged please open to suggestions
Hi yes I do but if your looking to restrict your bike to meet the A2 licence requirements the zx6r is too powerful for it to comply to the A2 licence restrictions. The zx6r is 110 bhp and the A2 licence only allows you to restrict bikes less than 94 bhp .
@@F15hlermoto Okay thank you!. "licence only allows you to restrict bikes less than 94 bhp" is it only in UK? Because in my country it doesn't say anything about this. It just says minimum 20kwh, maximum 35kwh, cant be less than 245cc and Power-to-mass ratio cannot be more than 0,2 kW/kg
Ahh OK, you'll most probably have to look for a carb restriction kit . They are like washers that sit between your carbs and intake boots and restrict the air fuel flow
The one on the bike in this video came on the bike . I've now changed the exhaustsince then. This is the video of the new exhaust with the info on where I got it from . Hope this helps. ua-cam.com/video/n8xgD0_6rtc/v-deo.htmlsi=GWdB1OAd43OT3bnC
I use thiners as that is what I had around but you can use any thiners or solvent as it's to let the jets soak and help break down any crap that in them .
For a full exhaust system blackwidow do one for the zx6r what is universal for most the end cans they do and it isn't too badly priced . If it is just an endcan change you are after most 3 bolt end cans should fit and its is as simple as unbolt the original end can and bolt the new one on , 5 min job
Where abouts in the world are you ? I've just had a Google and found out that in other countries there is a bike under the zzr600 name what looks identical to a 2001 zx6r j2 .
Just picked up an 01 for free😎 got a lot of work to do and you’ve been making it easier 👏🏽
Glad I bumped into you! Just bought an almost immaculate grey 2002 636! Learned so much about the bike from watching you already
Thanks for the comment and glad the channel is of help to you .
Love the 636 , was looking for one until I came across my zx6r .
These yr 600's were great pushing like 130 hp and looks drop dead gorgeous in green
my bad 110 130hp was 05 model still only 10 or so less than 2023 and 05 had more than brand new one
I'm having a heart attack just thinking of doing this, think it's a bit above my skill set lol, great video by the way, you've helped me many times
Just take your time and do 1 carb at a time and you'll be fine . Thanks and glad the videos help
My bike has been down all summer because of the carb, shops saying 4-500 ima do it tomorrow
The most helpful video I’ve watched in the past month
rebuilding my zx9r after my crash and i hope this helps with the carbs when i attack them

Your best of fitting the correct ones for your bike otherwise you can run the risk of the bowls not sealing correctly and fuel leaking.

Thanks a million for this wonderful video. I have to do this job on mine
How come u don’t pull out the screen filter under that Philips screw inside the bowl? I have found those to be clogged often just fyi
I like video right straight to how it done well I’m going to see if I can want to see more your videos
Hi thanks for the comment, make sure to subscribe and check out some of my other videos
The video looked good. I think it will be very helpful for my 2000 zx6r j1 maintenance thank you
Thank you , I'm glad the videos on the zx6r are of help to you 😊 more maintenance videos will be coming soon .

Hi it sounds like your jets could be blocked , try giving the carbs and jets clean and see if that helps
awesome video thankyou
hey man, great videos. what's the tool called that you use to @ 5m12s ? Also, what difficulty level would you rate this operation out of 10 ?
About 7 out of 10, then trickiest bit for me was undoing the clamps on the rubbers
Hi and thank you , the tool at 5m12s is hose clamp pliers. Difficulty out of 10 I would say the job is a 6 .
Hello, do you know how to install restriction kit on 2002 zx6r to make it 35kwh?

Hey man I own a 2002 and I can't find an exhaust anywhere, where did you find that one?

Where does the hose line at the beck of the gas tank go I disconnected it and forgot where it was connected to.
It's the fuel over flow pipe from the tank , it goes from the back of the tank down past the battery box and through a little hole in the under tray
Great vid as always mate.
Thanks 👍
Best 1 yet 🎉
Really good bike mate I had a j1 ninja
Years ago ....🏁🏁👍👍
Thank you 😊 one of my mates has a j1 , not much difference between the j1 and j2 . Both good bikes
At the 7:00 mark, did you say thinner? Like as in paint thinner? Just want to make sure I get the correct stuff
I use thiners as that is what I had around but you can use any thiners or solvent as it's to let the jets soak and help break down any crap that in them .
I have the same bike but a 2002 model, can you recomend me a exshaust for it? I got my stock exhaust on it at the moment.

What the pipe diameter, I have an 02 and was looking for a shorty pipe
I like that music
Mine seems to idle up down when I'm riding would that be vacume leak ?
Could be vacume leak or mabey un balanced carbs
@@F15hlermoto synched carbs replaced intake boots they where cracked
OK , cracked boots will cause a vacume leak . Did replacing them and balancing the carbs fix your problem ?
