Love these tutorials!! I don't know how familiar you are with all of NL2's features, nooks and crannies, but I would definitely be here for a tutorial on custom catwalks, ladders, stairs - that kind of stuff. Scripting is probably too technical, but I've also thought about adding sounds to specific parts of the track (as the train passes), which would be cool. Just ideas... :)
great follow up tutorial all we need now is elements maybe some basic ones you find on all ride types zero g roll cork screw Immelmann dive loop vertical loop heart line roll air time hills (b&m style, Intamin style and etc) great video overall can’t wait for part 3 I’m hoping to get nl2 soon so these are awesome keep up the good work !
Bump mapping is a way to simulate the physical texture of a surface allowing small surface details to create simulated highlights and shadows on the surface. Basically a bump map in the form of a greyscale image is used as a heightmap, the texture shader uses this to calculate where the highlights and shadows would be from light sources and add appropriate shading to the base texture to give the illusion of depth to the surface.
im not sure you expected this video to be so useful two years removed from when you uploaded it, but I've come back to it multiple times to get started making stuff in nl2
Does anyone know how to get custom objects? E.g. a building or just some custom shapes. I've found them on steam workshop but don't know how to use them
Can you create a video about creating custom telemetry. Mainly in the flat portions of the track and the cranking up portions of the track have no motion associated. Simple vibrations would be great. Thank you
Nice, interesting and wonderfully wonky tutorial! Just a question - is there something like auto-placement for track supports? I can't see myself building a two - minute run and placing every support by hand...
@JacobLewis-eh5eh There're different settings for POVs. The normal rider cam can be quite jittery, but keep pressing Q to go through different ones. I use the Fly-By View
@JacobLewis-eh5eh There is also a setting to turn off the shake of the camera. I believe it is under Preferences in your settings :) Tbh I didn't remember it affecting fly-by
By any chance do you know how to import an image into Nolimits 2 as a clear floor texture? I am trying to create a cedar point recreation and im starting by tracing all the ride's layouts to a google earth flat image. It's insanely blurry I can't see anything I even tried editing it in photoshop. I've seen people do clear versions of the same thing on coaster crazy though
@Megacoasterman I use this tutorial when I need to do that myself. It works perfectly: www.coastercrazy.com/forums/nolimits-2-high-resolution-satellite-overlay-tutorial-t36198.html
@@truchaman76 I probably can't show much of it, as I'm not very good at it. And I unfortunately don't know how to do custom trains. But thank you for the idea!
you actually can change where the water is!! click set height and make it higher and you can set the terrain any amount over the water level just continued watching the video and you showed that LMAO

Very good stuff, man.

Can you go more in depth on the inversions and elements for the hybrid track?
I may do a tutorial one day on elements, and I'll make sure to mention tips for hybrids!
@@NorthernRidesYaBoi thank you
Flanges are what connect pipes because they can only be so long. Also, the autopaint is good for modifying the height of the terrain.

Can you do a video on how to do vertical loops without jank, and also do buildings and paths?
Buildings and paths aren't my specialty, but if I do a future episode, vertical loops will be featured!
Ok I actually love that B&M sit-down. Inspired by hair raiser by any chance?
Thanks! The Immelmann I got from Hair Raiser, but unintentionally. The rest is inspired by Kumba and Dæmonen

@JacobLewis-eh5eh There is also a setting to turn off the shake of the camera. I believe it is under Preferences in your settings :) Tbh I didn't remember it affecting fly-by
For the light pattern creator, is it possible to add that to JUST inside a tunnel instead of the entire track?
Actually nevermind. They don't actually light up anything.
@@FreemanMcCoy Yea they don't actually create a light radius. And I still haven't figured out how to only do it partially

Beautify it, ride it, record it, or build another 😁.

How do you do water?
Move the terrain down, and then water appears.
All the water is at the same level, so you have to lower the terrain to make it appear.
