can you imagine watching this in the early/mid 2000s? it would have been MIND BLOWING
It's definitely a step up from game gear
Can't believe how many incredibly nice PC handhelds we have now. Definitely looking forward to your showdown vid!
Sadly none of them have an OLED screen.
Its great seeing more of these devices. Hopefully we see more budget friendly options that competes with the steam deck.
I am just blown away at the technological marvel of literal hand hand PC. the performance of this is crazy good !
It seems like there are so many 6800U handhelds out now, that there could be a showdown episode. I'm not sure how different each one is in terms of price, features, and performance.
I'd love to see that too!
Aya neo is the best for the price
@@Prodbytocile That would be my guess as well, it's also the one I backed. I'd still love to see a comparison between all the devices tho. I'm most intrigued by the AYN Loki Max tho, sadly that one is not out yet and it seems like it'll take a while (that being said, I support their decision to take their time to perfect the product as much as they can).
I just hope they would compete on lowering their prices that is close to Steam Deck.
@@ov3rkill Yea but Aya Neo 2 is the best option since is better and more premium and sold worldwide, whereas Valve's steam deck is not sold worldwide yet there are a plenty of countries a big market, and is like more than a year and half, that is why Aya Neo 2 is best option.
Could you do an eGPU video including a few different cards like you did for the aya neo 2? That was a great video and it would be nice to see any differences between the devices.
A final comparison between the 4 handheld devices video that you mentioned would be awesome too! Keep up the great content!!
Would love to see a direct comparison with the AYA Neo 2 . Great job as always ETA.
Me too
I've been waiting on this one. It's a bit expensive, but between the Aya Neo 2/Geek and this new OneXPlayer, I feel these two are the top handhelds on the market.
Aya Neo 2 mops the floor with GDP and One X Player/AokZoe because the screen has no bezel, it's much better quality, and you can crank the tdp up to 33 watt.
Love your work, your channel and your constant updating with new content.
Would it be possible to make a video of the Aya Neo 2, OXP MIni Pro and the Steam Deck running Cyber Punk?
I always love how you reviewed techs esp you do emulations.
I would love to see you demo a CTR:Nitro Fueled on YUZU next time.
More great contents to go man😁🙏
Interesting to know what kind of VR performance can be had with the stuff you review, especially the APUs. I don't know if there's a benchmark or something? It's always difficult to show off VR experiences I know.
Playing mine right now and this device is so awesome 👍👍👍. I’m glad I pre ordered and got the case and dock with it.
It's amazing how DDR5 has enabled handhelds to actually game. DDR6 will be the next step for handhelds, since I doubt we will see HBM on these devices.
Number of GPU CUs play a big role as well. I imagine you could increase the size of the Igpu significantly before being bottlenecked by memory bandwidth.
We now have LPDDR5 8500mhz as well. So that'll be used on the 7800u next year doubt.
@@OC.TINYYY I personally only see incremental improvement until DDR6. As a first generation adopter of AMD APUs, the memory bandwidth power to performance ratio is always a tricky thing to balance. DDR5 8000+ sounds awesome, but how expensive will it be? And how available will it be? The base performance upgrade from a memory standpoint is how you gauge improving for low power/sffpc. You can stuff all this cool stuff into a PC with an APU, but it quickly becomes more expensive and less performance than a traditional setup.
Honestly I would prefer an upgrade on the battery side of things. Then we could think about the CPU and GPU performance increase.
@@Jesus.Martinez.32 Energy storage will be an issue for most everything if politicians keep pushing for the ban of fossil fuels. Not that I like coal, but we got a big issue coming if battery tech doesn't rapidly improve.
Jolly super video, Prime! 👍
A new full-up video every day . . . still blown away by your work rate, consistency and reliability, wow!
Let's get you to 10M+ subs!
Kindest regards and have a good weekend, friends.
Favorite handheld, mini pc, SoC, etc channel on UA-cam!
Hello.
Many thanks for your great video. I have the onexplayer 1s and love it. You mentioned that you have not heard anything that they are bringing a 6800u version out. I think the aokzoe a1 is a new branded onexplayer as the software and the design seem to be same or very similar especially the overlay feature. What do you think, will they bring out the classic onexplayer with, 32gb ram, 6800u with the 8.4 inch screen. Many thanks.
Love the aesthetic of this device!
Using steam deck as the benchmark, it would be nice to see how each hand held compares with some comparison graphs.
dont have to be that technical just look how spider-man ran on this and how it runs on the deck .
the 6800U is more powerful than the custom chip in the steam deck so anything that has it is more powerful
@@HearMeLearn 😂 but it can't run spiderman that power ain't worth it .
Too bad all these handhelds can't hold a candle to Steam Deck in controller department :X
Should more have a chart that ranks performance based on the cost. $400 for the base Steam Deck is an insane value. The handheld in this video, base is $1200 for 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. 2TB 2230 SSD will run $470-$500. From what I've seen, despite having twice the cores and threads, these handhelds only have modest more performance then the Steam Deck. What the Steam Deck requires Low settings to play most of these other handhelds can only do Medium (and that's with the SD only having 15W draw and other handhelds doing like 25W+).
Man... WHEN and IF I get the money to get one of these, I'll definitely get one ASAP! Definitely wanna try and have a handheld gaming pc just this once.
@ETA PRIME I know that this is a new handheld and wouldn't be nice to open it up. But could you consider an inside views of it and compare it to the last gen one. Could be interesting to see if there's any differences between the Socs.
I would really like to see no screen bezel implemented on all these handheld devices, including the steam deck.
Game dips to 59 fps
ETA prime -there was a massive dip 🤣
damn this man is already almost at 1 million subs
Hopefully,
the next generation range of Premium handheld gaming PCs will be powerful enough that they can be marketed also to serve as many peoples’ general desktop PC, it would make the higher prices actually more appealing and justifiable.
Awesome train wallpaper
starting to feel like every new handheld that comes into the market just highlights the amazing price of the deck XD
Entry level Steam Deck, $399.00 this one in the $1,200.00 range? Yowsa.
Your half right and half wrong. Steam deck is much much cheaper but it's less powerful. This one is insane pricy but it's kinda BEAST comparing to Steam Deck.
This is less than half the price it costs to get a steam deck in places like Australia where you have to rely on scalpers.
Steam deck might be cheaper but it has a garbage low end screen. Bad battery life and linux🤢
Remember that the steamdeck has a custom apu, it gets away with alot it shouldn’t
Love that RGB that’s so cool
Can you please make a video comparing this to the ayaneo 2?
Thanks a ton!
also can you please make a video testing using both as mini pcs?
Amazing review as always. How does this compare to the ayaneo 2?
This is so much faster than my desktop gaming PC built in 2018, all except for the GPU of course. I would love to have one really!
1 mil subs soon😀😀
What is the background you have running on that during the spec sheet portion? It looks so cool.
Yeah I wanted to know this too
I would prefer an 8.4" version over the mini. Though I don't think they will announce a new 8.4" because the (poorly designed) AOKZOE A1 is the new 8.4" even though it's 8".
8.4" 6800U is planned
Yesss! I prefer my 8,4 inch AMD Onexplayer. 🙂
@@rassular Are you serious?
Really? If this is true then I'm on board. I wonder if they will add hand grips to the back like the mini pro.
I have their 8.4" 1165g7, and I emailed them asking if they planned to do a 6800U version. They did not confirm. The form factor is ideal, 7" just isn't my favorite.
@@Gorger12 I had that exact same model and spec, in fact I was an original backer on their Indiegogo campaign. The of OXP 8.4" 1165g7 is a great system, but it was let down by Intel's drivers. It plays some games better in Windows vs the Steam Deck, but its the Intel chip that holds it back. Beautiful screen and size though. I'd buy a 6800u version if they ever released one.
Really impressive handheld. If I had the money would think about getting one.
Nice results.
What were the wallpapers you were using when going over the list of specs?
Please compare all the latest handhelds and which one is best overall
Hey Man love your videos and your reviews. So informative and honest. I have a question. I bought a onexplayer mini pro after watching your vid about it. I got it for xmas and its updated and all but there is a battery issue as it won't charge. i go the dock as well and plugged that in which lights up and supplies ethernet fine but still won't charge the unit. Could you suggest anything? Thanks.
Great Eta great
This looks great. Definitly want to see how it works with an e-gpu. If it works well enough, it might just replace my pc.
So tempted to order one lol. I have a steam deck, but its still tempting.
I still have nightmares of my experience with the 2021 Onexplayer, And that d-pad, YUCK! Looks like nothings changed there. GPD is the one that seems to 'get it' as far as dpads go.
where do you find these dope backgrounds for the desktop background :O
mind referring to FSR with a version in these comparisons? we now know fsr 1 and 2 have different performance scaling characteristics.
Will you be doing a video comparing this to the Aya Neo 2?
I almost go broke when I visit Shenzhen last time. They have alot of these things everywhere as well as garment factories and foods. The scale is very large.
I would love to visit, but yeah a lot of cash can be spent for sure
Looking forward to the 6800U showdown video.
If this were released pre-Steam Deck era, then I'd be drooling all over it, but the issue for me is, that once Valve released its handheld with FULL-SIZED analog sticks, I just can't unsee that missing ergonomic feature, in virtually ALL handhelds released after it. I really hope the leading companies in the handheld community fully embrace the integration of full-sized controls.
If you haven't gotten used to the trackpads yet they are a game changer. I held off for awhile but I recently played through Dishonored and the top community profile had the trackpads and gyro setup really nicely. I was using the stick for story stuff and trackpads for aiming in gameplay stuff. Works shockingly well especially after a little practice. I don't feel that far behind using my Logitech G Pro and I've never felt close to that on the joysticks.
Also the Steam Deck added something interesting called flick stick I've yet to try. Basically you map your right stick to spin your character exactly 360° so if you flick the stick down your character will instantly do a full 180. Then you use the gyro for vertical aim.
Apparently people absolutely love it and say it can be more accurate than trackpads. It sounds bizarre and I'm sure it has a learning curve. But the Steam Deck having so many ways to interact with it's controls is so amazing. SteamOS itself also has made PC gaming more straightforward and console like then ever before which I think lends itself well to a handheld where you just wanna play a game instead of tinkering with stuff on the go.
And the right stick is properly placed at the same height as the left. I couldnt use one of these in the video without the right hand cramping up
I wonder if AMD will start making lower end CPU's with higher end iGPU's. You don't need an 8 core CPU to play most of the games you would play on a handheld. A Ryzen 6600U with a Radeon 680M would be more than enough and the cost would be quite a bit lower.
Yep. I even have SMT disabled on my deck as it often gives me better performance in games.
The 6600U and 6800U have the same die size, that means they're the same chip, just the 6600U has a few things disabled. It is possible they could bin a CPU with more CUs enabled, why they don't do it i have no idea, maybe to keep said chip from cannibalizing 6800U sales?
@@kajurn791 from what I hear, not all chips comes out perfect. Some might have some irregularities that might impact the advertised performance. Rather than throwing that chip away, they can take say a chip that did have 8 cores but 2 are either damaged or unstable and so they disable those 2 cores and make it a lower tier chip
thats xbox and ps5
Mines on the way!
I managed to get the 16gb & 1tb model for $969 pre-order offer. I can't wait to see a tear down video to see how upgradable the device is. I have a spare 2tb m.2 I'd like to put in it to increase the storage.
Are they shipping yet?
@@ultimategohan1551 Yes, got it last week
Can't wait for the face off video!
even tho the rgb lights won't be seen during gameplay or sum, it still looks sick
I like how the overlay disappears from the taskbar unlike AyaSpace.
I preordered this and just got shipping confirmation! Excited to put it yo the test. I want to see how it compares to my AOKZOE.
*great video*
how u like the aokzoe
still waiting on my shipping confirmation.
They said "shipping before November 8th" many are still waiting for a confirmation.
@@giotorres9848 it's a great device. I think it's in a sweet spot of screen size and battery life. Most other handhelds are 7in or smaller. I think 8in is the perfect size to be an all in one device 👍🏽
*Update*
Just got a shipping and fedEx shipment confirmation just 5 minutes also
😀
Nice review! Anybody knows the name of the app for the animated background in the Specs part?
Where can I get that awesome wallpaper from? Love the wallpaper. If there is a link then please post it.
ETA, which screen looks better between the AyaNeo 2 and this?
Thx 👍
Did you try deactivating Vsync in Xenia? I would love to see the max fps this handheld can get.
Mine shipped today 2tb 32gb looks promising I also have a steam deck will be fun to compare
Whats the screen brightness compared to their older devices? Also the speaker quality?
Steam deck price looking pretty good right now
Until you use one.
@@VaydaladaVodalada why it's great 👍
Aya Neo 2 is the best option since is better and more premium and sold worldwide, whereas Valve's steam deck is not sold worldwide yet there are a plenty of countries a big market, and is like more than a year and half, that is why Aya Neo 2 is best option.
@@leilavergerius9223 not really steam deck has great support from valve and is very serviceable for repairs with again support from valve also providing the parts you would need good luck getting that from one of these handhelds and the price and performance of the steam deck compared to these handhelds keeps it on top ya they are not in worldwide markets yet but they will be eventually 🤷🏻♂️if you can get it the steam deck is king of the hill
@@ramiy2843 No is not and Ayaneo 2 is more powerfull and premium and i pre-ordered one.
What software are you using to go above 28w? You mention a different software.
Quick question. Can you disable 4 or 2 cores in bios on any of thrse devices? The gpu could get more power from that 28 or 15w tdp. This is why all 6800u handhelds struggle against steamdeck under 15w. Because its 4 cores and it can pump more power into the gpu to get higher clocks. Also all handhelds share the same cooler because its in the processor. Which in turn limits boost clocks of the gpu again because the cooler has to disipate more heat as well.
So I just finally received my 6800u. Got it all set up. Was going through the settings and found that windows quarantined a Worm. I removed it. Been scanning my device ever since. I bought the device through the official site during the preorder.
This looks sick
The comparison episode can't come soon enough. One other important item is support. How is support with OneXPlayer vs Aya Neo vs Ayn vs GPD (I think I forgot one company here)?
It's almost 2023, the rule on portable battery size needs to change! The technology behind battery management and production has come in so far we should be able to go up to 100 watts in portable battery size. Really frustrating now as the power of the handhelds is there, just lacking the battery size to make them a major player in the gaming market. Great video as always ETA Prime 👌💪
There are engineering challenges involved with putting bigger batteries in portable devices besides just a law. Even if you do overcome those challenges the next step would be to do extensive testing for safety validation, which takes time and costs money.
And besides all that, a larger battery capacity means a physically larger, heavier battery, and it'll take even longer to charge. Not worth it, imo. Better to wait for improvements in efficiency so we can do the same or more with less. Only way I can see larger capacity batteries making into portable devices is if the energy density increases significantly. In the last 10 years Lithium battery energy density hasn't really improved all that much, and is unlikely to do so in the near future; we just kept putting physically bigger batteries because our devices kept getting larger and/or more space efficient.
yea the battery tech need to keep up with these devices
i really doesn't care about the charging speed going >100 but the capacity
Some of this is moderated by things such as size limits of the batteries for airplane travel.
hello excuse me but the oxp button doesn't work, I can't access the file to download either, it gives me an error message on the site, it prevents me from downloading it and reinstalling it. This is very annoying for a 1200 dollar machine, please its possible to send me the driver or file necessary for its installation. thx
I was excited about this till got to the battery part at the end, about an hour you can use it in hand held mode I mean what’s the point? If I’ve gotta play it plugged in mostly might as well get a pc or a laptop, want something that’s gonna give me decent on the go performance
Im waiting on the oneXmini pro 2. It should be released next week
Does it have adaptive sync? Some variable refresh rate?
Hi, is it possible to do a video on the onceplayer joystick problems, they seem problematic when it come to aiming in fps games, can u show how we could manage this maybe via software or something. We're still waiting for a firmware update but nothing yet, maybe someone of your stature in this field could shine the light on it and maybe that will push the company to expedite the fix. We've been waiting for YEARS!. Thank you and keep up the amazing content 🙏
Amazing! I have the Mini 1195g7
Hey is it possible to put ubuntu 20.04 or 22.04 ? And thank you for your video !
Really appreciate new handhelds coming into the market but with a price of $1200 i don't think it's worth it
How is the upgradability on these handhelds. I know Steam Deck has plenty of guides, but if you wanted to buy a lower version of this one and upgrade it, how hard is it to do?
Yep. A tear down even if all you do is take off the back plastic would be very appreciated for handhelds
Gaming handhelds will truly take off when battery technologies allow adequate game time
Hi there! Do you think that halo MCC & halo infinite? Can run??
i like the right thumbstick position…❤
Can you do a video with similar devices and make a list from best to worst. They can't all be the best right?
This is so lit ❤️🔥
Steamdeck has 800p and a unique quad 32bit memory config that favors the gpu. Will probably run windows better than the steamdeck with the added cpu cores but the gpu will likely not see much an improvement.
I was wandering, is this that software include costumize button for gyro control so can press LT to on gyro for shooting?
The wallpaper is called "Infinite Journeys 4K Resolution" on Wallpaper Engine from Steam
