They changed alot from the comic and alot seemed necessary because the book is over the top but these changes add nothing to the plot, they are not inspired by the source material. Pretty long comment, sorry, but I feel so weird. I watched the 3 episodes of S4 so far, and I'm intrigued by the new characters and I kinda like the slower pace? I didn't mind the politics "amping up" in S3 at all, so that's never a problem with me now, but with S3 I just thought it got too... campy? Or "marvel-ised"? Quite often, like the fight scenes and a part of the humour. Compared to S1 and S2, which almost perpetually had that darkness to them, even if it was still comedic. I actually really like that this season has episodes that have "filler content", for lack of a better expression. And that it returns to some of that "feeling" I had from the first couple of seasons. I like both Hughie's mom and Colin's addition so far. I like that they can add simply human characters that aren't part of some groundbreaking conspiracy theory connected to the core of the main story, that's always so unnatural to me. I genuinely don't understand what was so confusing about Frenchie's sexuality so far, people need to open their eyes more ig. I don't understand how people can consistently refuse the fact that Frenchie and Kimiko don't actually want to be sexually involved with each other either. Even before season 3, nothing that they share together is 100% exclusive to people that fancy each other. A platonic relationship is still very much believeable, some people are too lost in shipping culture without realising I guess. Ryan is also endearing again, I know he kinda frustrated most of us in S3, I don't know how people don't talk about that more. I also don't see how they top in "shock value" with this season so far (maybe with the "human centipede" thing tho, but that's literally it?) I'd say it's kind of on the same level, adding Gen V to the mix I'm sad because I just want to hear more genuine criticisms from fans, because I wanna look more critically at some things that I'm probably missing too. Yet most of the things I hear about are things from people that are obviously missing A LOT of points... Cmonn guys you can do better than this

TBH, I do agree the show has fallen off, I don't really care about it all that much because of 3 reasons. 1. There are still 5 eps left an I have hope 2. I don't care if the story falls off as long as my expectations with Homelander and Neuman are met 3. To me ,the thing that matters more is the journey, and not the destination, in fiction, the prime period of a series is what I care about and the fall off just doesn't exist for me (My experience with Prison Break and Game of Thrones)

i’m not political at all, Season 4 episode 4 was the best episode as of right now in the new season. the first three episodes have been slow and boring. the quality of the seasons have been going down ever since season 1 i suppose.

I’m glad you enjoy it. It is definitely political and always has been. I mean it’s about a presidential election so it has to be. That is one of the many many reasons why I love this show. There’s a lot of depth and because of that it can go over a lot of peoples heads.

At the same time I’ve heard everyone of the sentences at “truth con” from real life people “loud minority” kind of thing I suppose. And im right wing in Brasil. Idk how that carries over to the rest of the world, here the left, apart from the ever present corruption in both sides of the spectrum, is in favor of the state regulating social media, state control of companies, lowering the already low sentences for smaller crimes like stealing; and imported every shitty ideology from the us, like the pronouns and the “trans kids exist” for example. So it’s pretty easy to be right wing here for many reasons but every thing is so polarized exacly because of those “truth con” style of slander/fake news/moral panic, that most slurp right up. The only difference is that both sides do it irl
