Maria... I remember when you made videos in the beginning that only had audio and some pink and green dots as the background. I remember your thumper shirt in one of your role play videos that people were giving you a problem about just because you are a woman and have woman parts. I remember your first upload of the towel folding video, and it only had audio on one side. You got it fixed from a friends help and I am so grateful for that because it is still my favorite video from you. I remember your Draw My Life video, and how sad I was to hear about your nose and all the things that you had went through from 18 and from Russia. I remember the video you uploaded to inform us that you were no longer going to be married and together with your first marriage... I could see all the hurt and pain in your eyes and you did your best not to cry. It was a change but it was still hard for you, and yet you were willing to be open with us about it. I remember your videos getting ready for home visits to Russia, you would bring your family like beef Jerky and I think flavored marshmallows. Then you would come back and show us all the wonderful things you got from your trip. I remember that you talked about having children in a previous video, saying that age 27-30 is where you would see yourself having children or be comfortable in. You wanted to dedicated time to us and to find your own path first. I don’t remember when your now husband came in... I don’t think it was a big reveal and he just slipped through the cracks but then you started making videos with him or about him and I say you were happy. I remember the DIY valentines gifts you were doing, the 52 cards as a little book was my favorite... I tried so hard to make one similar for a previous love. I remember seeing in more and more videos that you were healthier and happier and on such a better track with your life. I loved being there every step of the way because you have helped me with so much and you’ll never fully realize how much you mean to me. I know this is a lot to read and to take in, but Maria I hope you get a chance to see this.. I sit here at 5am typing this out, knowing that to some I might sound like a crazy stalker or a weirdo, but you have impacted my life so much with your videos. The level of respect I hold for you is incredibly high. You have gone through so much not just even in what we’ve seen from your videos, but life itself. I am so happy for you and your husband, I know his name but don’t know the correct spelling so I’m sorry, and seeing how you are now compared to how you were when you first started... I’m just so happy for you. You’ve made a change. Thank you... from the bottom of my heart.

I remember the 'guilt' when I started watching some other's ASMRists' videos, like I was cheatin' in some way, but the realized "in my heart" what she put so nicely in the video: that there's no way you can even compare between ASMRists, they're all different and good.

My life really has changed this year. I was bullied for 9 years, and because of all the anxiety and stress my legs didn’t work anymore. I had to go in a wheelchair to school. The doctors made a brain scan and found out I have a very agressive brain tumor which can not be removed or treated. I’m only 14 years old, and the fact that my life is taken away from me is devestating. I’m trying to stay positive and live the last months I have as good as I can. This year has been the most precious year to me after suffering 2 misscarriges I finally fell pregnant in July last year but was so worried and anxious about another loss my midwife suggested I watch your videos to help calm me before sleep etc your videos helped me through many of my hospital stays and I now have a healthy 8 month old daughter called Emma she is my whole world and more. Thank you for your time and effort into your videos.

So do the sponsorships and ignore the people who leave negative comments about it - how you make your living is none of their business, it doesn't affect them, and you're still supplying high quality ASMR videos. You're not the Queen of ASMR because you were one of the first, or because you upload so frequently. You're the Queen of ASMR because of the endless love and effort you put into this. So keep doing you, because we're all fans of who you are as a person, as well as what you create.

I don't mind the sponsored content at all, for a few reasons. You have to make a living, first of all, and it is unreasonable of your viewers to expect you to upload with the same frequency and quality that you do without some sort of compensation. Second, the sponsored videos that I have seen (specifically the ones with Blue Apron) have been just as relaxing as unsponsored videos and with content that is just as appropriate for ASMR. So thank you for your continued hard work and passion: we appreciate you!

When you said “I gotta start my family” after describing you watching Daryl playing with little Masha it made me say “awww” out loud and it warmed my heart. That was so sweet and made me so happy and feel so deeply and understand what you mean. Hi Maria. Just wanted to thank you. I’m a 24 year old addict in recovery (I’m nearly 3 years sober). Part of my staying sober is keeping a calm and spiritual mind set (meditation etc). I watch your videos most evenings and they end my day on a peaceful and positive note and I just want to thank you for that. I started watching them when I came into recovery which was a painful and scary process. Your videos gave me some comfort at the start and helped me to sleep when I was stuck in my head. This year...I moved to Tokyo for 6 months to study Japanese, met and fell in love with a Scottish boy, made some lifelong friends from around the world, moved home to finish a college degree, parted with said boy and ended up getting my heartbroken when he immediately began dating another girl along with blocking my number/me on all social media....yet realized it was overall a positive, life changing experience that taught me how to love and be loved and helped me realize my true worth - an incredible, unforgettable year with so much self growth :) I hope you have an amazing 2018 Maria and other viewers 💕

I moved to Berlin for one year to study German, met and fell in love with a Chinese man, made some lifelong friends from around the world, just moved home to finish my college degree, parted with said man, however didn't end up heartbroken, instead left in a weird limbo where we can't physically be together (for who knows how long?), but still have strong feelings for each other. It's complicated, but I totally get where you're coming from. No matter positive or negative, these experiences truly pushed us to grow as a people. I sincerely hope you find someone who not only captures your heart, but appreciates your worth!

Congrats on your feeling of being "ready and grown". I know just what you mean. I actually did want to be a mother fairly early on, mid 20s I guess, but when I would dream of having a baby there would always be something wrong. Sometimes the baby was just a doll, once a bee, or I would not have a crib or clothes, or anything I needed. As I matured and did become more "ready" my dreams were of actual children- seeing them in school plays and rocking them at night. It was such a clear transformation but only I had witnessed this symbolism of my progression.

First of all, I have been watching your videos since your very first videos, when I was in 10th grade, struggling with depression and in counseling, and now I'm 21 years old and graduating college next semester! I really feel like we've grown up alongside each other even though you don't know me at all. Because of this, everyone who has been watching knows what kind of person you are and much of your story, and I can't imagine anyone being angry with you for taking sponsorships. When this is your job, there's no shame or selfishness in making extra money off your videos! In fact, your blue apron videos are some of my recent absolute favorites, and I love any video where you play with your phone, so the best fiends videos have been super enjoyable as well. Anything you do is relaxing, and you integrate things so well you never seem like an infomercial who's trying to sell us anything. I'm sorry for such a long comment, but thank you for so many years of such great videos and sharing so much of yourself with us, I truly feel so proud of how far you've come in both UA-cam and life in general, even though I don't actually know you at all.
Maria, I just started watching ASMR a couple of months ago after my therapist suggested it (because I don't sleep as well as I would like) after I told her about listening to a telemarketer for about an hour - kept asking her questions so she'd keep talking - because her voice made me feel like someone was brushing my hair. I am super sensitive to sounds but never would have guessed there are literally millions of people who respond to whispering and crinkly sounds and water, etc... Well, I've now watched enough of your videos to have started to get know you as a person and I have to say, I didn't expect that... and that you are such a lovely person, both inside and out! And you are so creative, I really admire that about you. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself here. That's really not an easy thing to do in such a public way. I am happy to hear how your life is unfolding. And I want to thank you for the wonderful level of deep sleep I've experienced after watching your videos (and sipping my chamomile tea). When you did the new house tour vlog, I suddenly got this feeling "Maria is going to have a little boy here". I also noticed a sort of a sadness in you lately, which if it's about the people not liking you for not taking their crap, sorry to say, but to hell with them. You don't have enough time in this lifetime to be considerate around toxic people. Regardless of the type of connection you have with them, it's better to just pull the weeds out, rather than see yourself destroyed from the inside, sooner or later.

I watched your Videos everytime I got bullied in school, when I was painfully in love, happy, in a relationship, after my first split up, when I lost a loved family member, when I found new friends, finished school, started to work, moved in my first own apartment with my boyfriend and whenever I feel I need someone who cares. You gave so much to me and I cant imagine how my life would have turned out without you. Please never leave from one day to another. I even fold my clothes exactly like you showed us in your Video. Maria, thank you so much for calling for (more) support in the ASMR community! I find new ASMRtists all the time that I absolutely love, but each person publishing videos brings something unique to the genre. I'm glad there are people pushing the boundaries and trying new things, but I'm also glad you're not feeling pressure to change the style of videos you do (any more than you naturally would as you grow and change as a person/ASMRtist). I always dislike people declaring someone is the "new queen/king of ASMR" because everyone who is brave enough to publish a video deserves respect/appreciation, and their addition to the genre shouldn't detract from the extensive contributions of ASMRtists like you who have been doing this for many years. Thank you for all you do (and much love/respect to other ASMRtists, too). In a world where everything feels divisive and stressful, it's nice to see a corner of the Internet where all kinds of people can be supportive and not feel so competitive with each other.
I feel like this year was both an absolute write-off and very valuable. I lost my grandpa this year, and the grieving was very tough. I was closer to him than anyone else in this world. I don't remember a lot of this year because of the grieving process. I realised I had misjudged how important I was to many people. I learned a bit more about who I am as a person as well. I've also had an interesting spiritual journey, even though I was mostly stagnant for a good part of this year.
How has my life changed since I started watching your ASMR videos? when I try and think back to the beginning, I don't recognise myself. But I am so thankful for you and your creations, that you have still kept going despite the adpocalypse. You are one of my go-to's in the ASMR community for when I am trying to sleep, and otherwise feeling down. Not only do I love your style, but I love that you do share who you are, you do talk about what's going on and let yourself be vulnerable. Don't stop being you :)

I lost my grandpa too this year. I am the opposite. I was not close to him. I wish I had. He lived in another country I got to see him about 1 week every year. Its hard because now he is gone. You are very fortunate to have been close to your grandpa. God Bless you.

i really like the alternating camera angles :) im an art student so sometimes i get stressed when im watching people make or colour something and they don't use the colour i would use or something like that and i'd get antsy so the camera angle is really nice! we don't get to see much of the process until u've decided how to colour it :)
After finally making it through your whole video despite falling asleep a few times, I wanted to say that I really appreciate when you open up about your spirituality. Crystals haven't really spoken to me personally (although I have seen how positively they've affected others), but everything else you've mentioned in this and in past videos I do resonate with.
This year, I had to put down my emotional support animal, ended a 6-year-long relationship, finished my master's degree, moved halfway across the country, finally worked up the courage to dye my hair, started on my PhD, got a new cat and a new boyfriend - all while coming to terms with my own spiritual beliefs, for which I've always judged myself. But I'm becoming more open about them and have started reading tarot cards and astrological natal charts for more of my friends. This year has been terrifying and transformative in so many positive and healing ways for me, and I'm glad to see it's been the same for you. Throughout the year, I had noticed that despite so many unknowns in your life, you seemed so much less anxious than you had in the past. You gave me a lot of courage to do so many things I've wanted/needed to do for a long time. I'm very proud of you and excited to continue watching you on your journey.

Maria, I have watched your videos for several years. I cannot remember for exactly how long, but I know you were one of the first ASMR channels I discovered. I constantly have a lot going on with life in general, but this week has been very stressful. I also have five college finals next week that I am studying for. I have not left you a comment before, but have been a loyal follower for years. I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your videos and rely on them to relax every single night. I found ASMR when I was pregnant this last year. Your channel was the first I subscribed to. It helped me through depression and anxiety and worries about the future and being a mother. There were so many times your light and positivity helped me find my own again. Thank you for that. My son is 4 months now and after our bedtime ritual, I still wind down at night to asmr videos. Sheep and cattle, it's a fun way for my dogs to do what they love and to spend time with animals), started my masters so I can study further, and my husband and I just had our offer accepted on what will be our first house. I listen to your videos in all types of settings Maria! I play your videos in the background through headphones at work while I do AutoCAD stuff. The tingles my head feels actually keeps me focused and awake. When I can't sleep at night, I put my headphones in and listen to your videos and I immediately fall asleep. Your videos especially helped me fall asleep when I was in college after a long day of studying/working and not being able to turn my brain off.
