@Rick O'Shay its a really unfortunate situation for both sides, the Russians, understandably, wanted revenge for their slaughtered innocents, but then took it out on other innocents as well. Granted, a lot of the defending Germans during the late parts of the war were civillians forced to take arms, so they had to be dealt with like any other German soldier, but still it's quite a shame.
If only Treyarch & Activision had the balls to ever remaster this Art 😩 Hands down my favorite Cod of all time, times were simple Yet so ahead of its time! Great memories man

I like how the scene at 4:50 is different throughout everyone's view. In this gameplay, he was just bleeding to death but in my playthrough, he literally got exploded in half and his upper body was just swinging around on the rope.
this cod is eerie and dark and it was the first cod to have a zombies mode. so i think they just re used a lot of the sound effects and stuff for zombies because it fit so well and it saves time.
Justin Schauwecker it will be much smaller considering how tactical each military has gotten. The death toll will still be staggering, but nothing like this. We were learning the rules of a modern war for the first time, that's why there was so much death. The next time, we won't be so naive to think we can simply march into the enemy's capital.
There will, hopefully. Never be a WW3. War is, as I hope this game helps to illustrate. An awful waste of lives, resources, and time. All I'm saying is, give peace a chance. Enough young men have fought and died in wars they don't understand for causes they don't believe in.

Actually, that honor belonged to the Battle of Dubno in 1941. Still, Kursk was a real tank-on-tank slaughterhouse nontheless. Tanks were even ramming each other at some points and fought like infantry in close combat scenarios
This game is beautiful, cause it finally shows eastern front of the ww2. Soviet campaign is so epic it gives me chills. Today is a victory day for all the post soviet countries and I congratulate everyone with victory that we achieved combining our forces with allies, crushing third reich

So I never bothered to take notice to this but at the first mission when Miller and his team are being accounted missing in action. Miller’s face was stamped on but everyone else got theirs stamped by the side. What a way to hide the face. Even modern warfare 3 showed what a picture of frost but it was just his face covered with his mask like one of the delta force player models. And in the mission where you first play as Yuri you can see Yuri early in the game when using the drone simply increase the brightness and zoom and you could see his model was just kamarov. Which I found strange since they did make him a model in the final mission.

There’s not one video game out there that captures the brutality and atmosphere of World War 2 better than World at War (I also like how they chose the Pacific War and the Eastern, two of arguably the most inhuman conflicts of WW2)
And still this was merely the tip of the iceberg. They missed the mass rape and murder of civilian women in both Stalingrad and Berlin, the SS executing any German civilians who either did not take up arms to fight or attempted to flee, that German children were also sent to fight against the Soviets and how in trench based battles that the British would let some soldiers stay back at their trenches after a charge to open fire on any of their own men that tried to flee the battle. Doubt there will be a game from either Call of Duty or Battlefield that will feature even a spec of that.
In my opinion, the best part about this game is the fact it DOESN’T take place in the Western Front. The developers knew that side of the war was done to death, so they made the brilliant decision to only cover the Pacific Theatre and the Eastern Front, which are less familiar, had more vile and atrocious conditions and were fought with extremely-motivated soldiers. This allowed World at War to be MUCH more memorable and unique than any other COD or WW2 FPS and, as a result, it is easily in the top ten best FPS games of all time.
This is one of my favorite cod games, I love the characters and story and addition of zombies and co op was just great, but I hated the fucking multiplayer it took so fucking long to level up.
Why do you always stop the hand to hand combat? I seen you do it in this one, in black ops, and modern warfare. It makes it a lot more better to watch when you leave them in. It feels more realistic and interactive and like an actual war story
They should’ve had another mission where you fight in Hiroshima and watch it get nuked. That’s when the war truly ended and then starts the Cold War (Black Ops 1)

Everyone noticed that most of the campaign missions have some of the zombie elements like maps and the starting round sound
