Very interesting and cool sequencer. I have to say that the load+mixer button settings mode seems counterintuitive: When mixer lights up is when it should load mixer settings, but instead when mixer lights up it EXCLUDES mixer settings… This seems completely completely counterintuitive... generally interfaces tell you what you CAN do, not what you can’t do. However, I realize that you may not be able to make that change now that many users are used to it in its current form, but I just thought I would mention it. Excellent job on the sequencer… Or the Zaquencer, to be precise.
I tried routing MIDI to control Stop/Start and Track Load and even though I tried all MIDI channels nothing would work. I used the correct CC and sent it to the input port on the BCR and it shows that it's receiving it via the lights but doesn't do anything. The BCR can record notes in fine though. What could I be doing wrong?
Sorry, only saw your message now. The parameter "Trigger Enbl" of the Global Menu (Encoder 9) needs to be set to the same Midi channel as the sending device or internal track (as in the video track 2). It´s also explained in the manual on page 22.
Good morning, on the website zaqaudio.com is for sale, I want to buy the firmware, it comes in physical media (CD / DVD, USB Stiick ...) or can it be sent via e-mail?
hello, Second shows in the video of the Zaquencer 1.5 Overview when it goes in the part of by to NOM to record in the video does not appear the illuminated buttons as it appears in mine. My question and how do you do it?
good news! but i didn't understood the new midi In routing setting, what do you mean by saying "routing the output of a track back to the sequencer's midi input internally" ? Can this be used to play simultaneously 2 sequences of the same synth (on 2 differents tracks) ?
By routing back the output of a track you don´t get the midi events (notes/CCs) on a physical output, but they appear on the Zaquencer´s input, as if you would have sent these events from another device connected to the Zaq´s input (like a MIDI keyboard/controller/PC). This way you can use those events to trigger certain functionalities in the Zaq, like Midi Remote Control or transposing a track thorugh entering notes. It´s not being used to play the same synth fro 2 different tracks which can be achieved more easily by using the same output&channel for each track.
Hey Christian, this may seem like an obvious question but If I have just bought the Zac firmware should I only install version1.5 Or do I have to install all versions ? many thanks, J
Hi Jonathan, thanks for getting in touch! Every Zaquencer version is self-contained, so it´s sufficient to just install 1.5. the other versions are there if someone wants to roll back to an earlier version.
you need a keyboard with a standard 5-pin Midi jack. This one can be directly connected to the Zaquencer´s Midi-In with a standard Midicable. USB won´t work.
generally it should work. please note that the zaquencer does not record polyphonic notes or note length, although these can be set afterwards after recording a monophonic sequence. also I have not used a yamaha reface before, but some people are not happy with it´s midi implementation www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=157047&sid=57b567315b2f7a611b749b6d38e7e26c
this is the best budget step sequencer available anywhere, and is very fully featured in fact! you should buy one. i love all of mine.
this continues to be the most accessible and fun sequencer in the studio. i cant log in to my account again though...

Cool stuff looking forward to using these new changes, great work.
Yes! Exzellent! The last feature you explain is very useful for complex sequences :-)
Would you be open to discussing how Behringer came to include your design in their upcoming BCR32?
Will you be making new stickers?
Awesome, btw. I LOVE my Zaquencer!!!!!!!!
nice gear and im using it ..use midi keyboard record to this .. just plug midi key to behringer ZQ midi input?
yes, monophonic input only
How do you have the keyboard routed? How is that input into the Zaquencer? I have tried to figure this out but have not managed thus far.
is it possible to have a songs with 3 parts (verse / chorus / bridge) and switch between them correctly without any interruption at the same tempo ?
How does the "Livid DS1" and the "Behringer BCR" compare to this controller to control hardware like modular synths (not just DAW)?
time to upgrade fw then :) thanx for the great work!
I have jumpy encoders on top row they can't be worn as it is new ? Any fixes or solutions I did read someone installed ceramic caps...anyone. Thanx
Bravo!
nice! You're amazing.
Thank you!
Good stuff buddy!

Hi, could you explain more to the promenor step by step how this is done? I can not notice any difference when I switch to IN.
Hi, please send me a quick email to support@zaqaudio.com. The answer is a bit too long for this comment section.
quasarm50@sapo.pt
when are you going to implement step recording?
what about step note input via external keyboard ?
will i still be able to use it as before and on top the zaquencer or will i lose the full functionality of controlling values of other instruments?

How to upgrade? Thanks.
can now you also record chords from an external keyboard?
Gäbe es eine Deutschsprachige Anleitung wäre ich Kunde für diese Erweiterung des bcr controller 😌

Thanks a lot for the explanation i understand now! Thanks for the update too and all the great work you're doing since the beginning!
Thank you! I would love more videos!
YES!
will there be any updates to the firmware anytime soon???

Thats brilliant, thanks mate !
how do you connect midi keyboard with zaq?
midi keyboard to zaq midi input and from zaq midi out to synth am i right?

what if i connect midi in and out of yamaha reface synth to zaq will it record sequence?i am so noob with those midi connections :D

can u make update in future for polyphonic record?does zaq have some advantage compare to electribe 2 seqencer stuff?
genius
