My focus now has been preparing myself to teach and lead as an. faithful associate until the Lord calls me to plant or lead an additional campus to our church body. Hope this makes sense.
@John Dixon yeah absolutely hear you good brother I would encourage you to remain prayerful, and continue to seek Christ for firm Direction. What a great explanation. I’m currently helping out in a student ministry where I am being considered to serve as associate pastor. They want to observe me both teaching and preaching. Great video! I’ve been saying this for years. It’s so encouraging to hear a younger minister say it and explain it on a platform like UA-cam. Although most ministers teach, not enough are PREACHING the authority of God’s Word.
@@ladydignity I feel like it is the other way around but I understand what you are saying. People today, as a whole, have very little understanding of the scriptures. It isn't by lack of teaching however. It is that preachers, teachers, and other church leaders are teaching mostly incorrect doctrine. Anyone who teaches within the walls of the church should constantly be exhorted to teach only scriptural doctrines. Anyone caught teaching man's doctrines should be reprimanded and corrected quickly. Women in ministry is a controversial topic that I would need much more time to discuss because of the nuances of it all. I don't know of any church that says women cannot serve in ministry at all. Biblically speaking, the only form of ministry that women are not encouraged to participate in is the office of pastor/elder/overseer, which includes the responsibility of preaching to entire church congregation (which is one of the duties of an elder - 1 Tim 3:2). This does not necessarily stop a woman from teaching a Bible study, preaching to women, teenagers, or children, or talking about God in some form of an online ministry. And it absolutely does not mean that women cannot evangelize others by sharing the Gospel. Hope that helps with your question.
I just finished reading your Nuts and Bolts book I think there is a very big difference between Preach and Teaching. The Greek words are different and so are the concepts. However I agree the the two have much to learn from the other. The teacher needs to add a “So what!”, an application and a call to action. The preacher needs to do more than exhort, making clear the message of Christ. I’m terrified of Preaching but Comfortable with Teaching but after reading your book I see I have much to practice in any event. Blessings MikeInMinnesota
Teaching is just educating someone on concepts and principles whilst preaching is conveying a message whilst trying to convince an audience with the hope of bringing conversion. Adolf Hitler was a preacher of evil. Paul was a preacher of the Gospel but he was also teacher.
Is preaching focused on announcing, or proclaiming to those outside the called out ones? Discipleship in the church body? Any clear examples of Jesus “preaching” to his followers? Or to the masses? Preaching to hearers who have not or choose not to Believe in Messiah. Teaching to those who believe in Messiah.
I agree to a point....u just said that according to the bible there's a huge distinction between preaching and teaching but yet ur saying preaching today is a combination of both. That's not biblical. Jesus preached at some points and then he preached at other points. It was never really a combination of both.
He contradicted himself within a very few, short moments. I suspect that his heart may be in the right place but his zeal is getting in the way of presenting with clarity.
Preaching and teaching are both Apostolic gifts. Many preachers have a teaching anointing as well. Jesus was always teaching and he preached. It is not biblical to say that both teaching and preaching cannot be done at the same time. God can give many different spiritual gifts. You can certainly teach while preaching the Gospel.
I’m wrestling with whether a “mixed message” is ever ok. For example, should a Sunday morning service that is exclusively a gospel presentation ever have elements of teaching? Time to go do some study I guess!
Can we say preaching is about converting people while teaching is about helping Christians live for God? In other words, preaching is for the unsaved and teaching is for the saved?
Question concerning teaching skills. I know it's one skill set for Bible hermeneutics and another skill set when teaching/presenting. I know teaching is a spiritual gift and I understand this skill set can be built upon. What resources would you recommend to build in teaching skills? Thank you for your content 🙏✝️🙏
Thank you for good teaching! 😂 BTW that is pure nightclub music you have inte background. Sexy and wakes up alott of sinful memories. Is it worldly music or Christian. The love of Jesus to you from my heart. God bless you brother. Love your inspiration. Keep on following the Lord.
See, this is where people mess up at. As God calls you into the ministry, a preacher may be an evangelists. Or, they might be a pastor. The evangelists, basically goes to church to church preaching a revival, or visit a church for a day or two, preaching, giving the pastor a break, a rest. I've seen evangelists come and preach real good, and the people get all fired up, and the pastor is a little tickled 'cause what is being preached is what the pastor has been saying all along... If the man is a pastor, he may be gifted to be able to teach and preach. The pastor oversees the people God gave him. He feeds the flock of God as the Holy Ghost moves him. You cannot go to college for that. Now in the bible Timothy was Bishop of the city of Ephesus. Paul wrote 2 epistles to him. Well at lease those that are in the New Testament. Paul told him to feed the church that he was over. Paul to him to "do the work of an evangelist". And, Paul told him to "Preach the Word, be instant in season, out of season". If the pastor is really gifted, for all pastors are not evenly gifted. But to preach in their calling. No bible college can prepare you for the ministry. Who God calls he qualifies. Solomon said in Proverbs, Your gift will make room for you. A real good, efficient preacher is someone whose weathered the storm, whose been tested and tried by fire and the Holy Ghost. You don't show yourself faithful speaking Hebrew, Greek, and Latin. You get this by letting God speak to you. You get this by obeying your pastor. How you gonna preach and teach people if you can't follow leadership? Preaching is telling the gospel under the Holy Ghost. Teaching, you slow down, take your time and sometimes Q&A with people. Take a chapter or two and break down, what the pastor sees the people need.
Elisha was actually building a school of prophets. Nothing wrong at all with Bible college. I’m a Pentecostal pastor and understand what you are saying but at the same time, sometimes God will use others to help you grow in pastoring. I went to Bible college and now I’m pastoring. Most of my sermon prep comes from following the lead of the Holy Ghost of course. BUT Bible college taught me how to dissect the Bible. How to really study. How to get deep. It also taught me steps for marriage counseling, church growth etc. Trust me I do get what you are saying. I grew up in a old school type church where preaching was “don’t use notes. Just open your mouth and let the Holy Ghost loose”. Most of the time, that meant the eternal gospel and a million rabbit trails 😂.
I think this has caused such a huge problem in the world today. I would argue many "Preachers" from when I was younger did minimum teaching. The fail into a trap of assuming their proclamations, paired with their positions of authority, meant people would get it. I think we need to keep these words separate like God's word did and not combine them. I think a Pastor should both preach and teach but I don't think we should call it preaching. I think just calling it preaching without communicating the need for preaching leads to the generation of Christ Followers that we have now. A bunch of poorly discipled believers running around preaching at people. You aren't supposed to proclaim anything unless its true, and your life of sin and hypocrisy isn't a good proclamation. Your argument of Paul's implication supports that thought. My point is this, I think this is a bigger issue that leads to Christ-followers thinking they are meant to proclaim, be a preacher, when in fact they shouldn't. I think it why the enemy is able to convince people that our hypocrisy is something Christ can heal in us. In turn, making the lost not want this empty proclamation.
"Teach and preach" used in the bible is alot like when it says multiple times "God and the Father" Yet we know that God and the father are the same... Preaching is a form of teach, because it is shedding LIGHT, Light is Knowledge... where ever Gods word is being sent, the it brings about LIGHT, Gods word IS LIGHT which light IS UNDERSTANDING... To PREACH the GOSPLE, meens to what? The gosple is the doctrin of the death barrial and reserection, doctrine IS a teaching, you really CANNOT seperate the two because they go hand n hand, you cant preach the gosple without teaching the doctrin of Christ... they are one in the same! You cannot preach the gosple without someone LEARNING the death barrial and reserection... Gosple = Word = Light = Knowledge = Lamp onto our feet.... they go together like a hand and glove
Education is definitely great... But when it comes down to being called to preach..... If you do not have ANOINTING from God, you don't have what ur supposed to have.. The anointing breaks the yolks.... Whether you believe in the holy ghost or whether you don't I would ask God 4 that gift... I don't have the holy ghost right now but I ask God for him..... But I do believe every word in that Bible...... I also seem demon possessed people when I was a child in a youth church camp.... that is the reason I know it's true.... Those demons are real and they are here today... I seen grown men run out of that church.... I was always maybe 11 years old....not one person said they're faking it... Maybe over 200 witnesses seen it... and trust me....the real from the fake is SEPARATED fast.......... In 2019 there are more hearers of the word and not doers
Hallelujah. I am a woman and have received the Holy Spirit. Everything changed when He came to stay with me. I did have to wait because He has a timing and He makes examples like Lazarus. Go with God
Preaching = giving info
Teaching = telling what to do with the info

Enjoyed this - I have been thinking about this distinction as well and recently did a video about it as well. Checked out your website, too!
This is really really good! You made the difference really clear for me. thank you. God bless!
Great video! Thanks for clarifying. And yes some people still "hang up" the phone 😁.
Great Teacher
This is GREAT!!!
God bless you.
Very true. God bless you.
It was so helpful! Thanks
Really great
this was great! very informative. Keep it up!
Wow. Thanks
Excellent teaching! (and Preaching)?
Wait, I need to listen again. 😅
Great
Proclamation versus instruction
Teaching is just educating someone on concepts and principles whilst preaching is conveying a message whilst trying to convince an audience with the hope of bringing conversion. Adolf Hitler was a preacher of evil. Paul was a preacher of the Gospel but he was also teacher.
Is preaching focused on announcing, or proclaiming to those outside the called out ones? Discipleship in the church body?
Any clear examples of Jesus “preaching” to his followers? Or to the masses? Preaching to hearers who have not or choose not to Believe in Messiah. Teaching to those who believe in Messiah.
Profound
My pastor said a teacher tells it and a preacher yells it.
😆 That’s a great way to put it
Yeah that's exactly what all my math teachers did though . . .
This is not my
opinion but absolute fact, to teach is to inform, to preach is to move.
Good
Amen
I wish if I can know how to preching please I need to teach me how to preching
Preaching = outerlines, Teaching = the colors
Kindly what is “preach as an educator”
Question if pastor preaches but doesn't teach what shall I do or say?
Question concerning teaching skills. I know it's one skill set for Bible hermeneutics and another skill set when teaching/presenting.
I know teaching is a spiritual gift and I understand this skill set can be built upon.
What resources would you recommend to build in teaching skills?
Thank you for your content 🙏✝️🙏
In the beginning you mention good teachers not good preachers twice can we edit if possible? It's under the minute mark
Being Pentecostal, I have heard it joked that the difference between preaching and teaching is the pastor's vocal volume, and some seem to believe it.
That's been my impression also. So I usually refer to my pastors as teaching, because they don't rant loudly.
I got information
👏
Thank you for good teaching! 😂 BTW that is pure nightclub music you have inte background. Sexy and wakes up alott of sinful memories. Is it worldly music or Christian. The love of Jesus to you from my heart. God bless you brother. Love your inspiration. Keep on following the Lord.
Matt 23:8-12

Pretty good teaching, right???
Who is this talking. In the video..
in Hindi
The word you are looking for is Priest, not Preacher on Teacher as that is how the Hebrew people were taught in their temples.
When I talk, it's preaching. When my wife talks, it's teaching.
🤣
WORD! 😂😂😂
I wouldn’t have looked up preaching vs teaching if I didn’t think there was a difference. You don’t need to state that for 3 minutes.
ur a hater
you don't seem to be talking about education but endoctrination.
Go with God
