Testimony: I remember back in the ‘90s I was struggling to make ends meet. My paycheck one week was $150. So I figured, okay, write my church a check for $15. But something in my heart said, “Make it for $20.” I balked on that. “I’m living hand to mouth as it is.” The answer: “Don’t worry, God will take care of you.” Then something else said, “Yeah, that’ll be some comfort when you’re homeless and sucking sidewalk because you missed your payment.” So I stopped. I didn’t write the check for $20 or $15. That snark made me mad. I wrote it for $30. Had to eat frozen veggies and rice all that week, but I got through. Ten days later, I got something from my old car insurance company. Turned out the courts determined I was overcharged, and they ordered reimbursement. I got a check for $127. Four times what was given, and lunch money, too. And all glory to God, I haven’t missed a meal since.
Yeah. You know I have found when The Devil or his demons have spoken to me it really ticks me off and I find myself doing the opposite of their taunts. It's almost as natural as the wind. I've been under vicious attacks by demons and The Devil since I was 7 years old, and... I'm 45 now. Gave my life to The Lord when I was 38 years old. I hate The Devil as much as I love God. The Devil has proven what the Bible says about him over and over and over again to me. You have to understand he can't help but be who he is. NOTHING that leaves his poisonous face is ever truth. Lying liars through and through.
I prayed two days ago because I was really confused and conflicted about the idea of tithing under the new covenant. Even some churches don't practice tithing. I asked my friends for advice and prayed for understanding and this video showed up! God truly listens! He is working on me in the area of being generous with my finances and my heart posture.
What is it with this channel and answering questions from prayers? It has happened to me before and I’ve seen countless comments like these, truly amazing!
Jesus didnt admonish the law, He even said you should give to God what is due, just like the government what is due (tax). You can interpret this as tithe or something, but its way more reasonable its about tithe because Jews were still practicing tithe during Jesus ministry too. When people talk about "not under the Law", they somehow forget that its talking about the power of Law that convicts people to death because of their sins, not literally us free not to do the Law. We are still required to do the Law because thats what God wants of us, but we will do it out of joy from our salvation not because we want to get into the heaven by doing the Law. People seemingly forgot the Law didnt just disappear, instead Jesus even reinforce the Law, example in preach of Mt. Sinai about lustful thoughts is the same as adultery.
@shestargirl8479 Same!!! I was praying and thinking about this recently too! God truly listens! 🤗💕 Father, please I pray that you will give @shestargirl8479 and I the right heart posture as we learn to be more generous in the way You’ve called us to. Soften our hearts to hear the word and let it take root in our hearts and bear much fruit, so that we may please and glorify You alone. Thank You so much for all you’ve provided for us and for this great community. We are very grateful. Teach us Lord. In Jesus’ name amen.
When I was desperately poor and couldn’t afford to spare a single cent, I did my best to tithe by volunteering my spare time to the church. Cleaning up the church after service, helping set up computer equipment (so many elderly folks in church administrations!) or whatever else they needed done around the place. For a lack of money, I offered my free time.
Churches do not consider your labor a tithe, they only want cash. They will also tell you that you have to give them the entire 10% and cannot spread it to multiple churches. Any donations you make to their charity groups also don’t count towards your tithe. It’s very important for that Pastor to get handed your tax free cash directly because God and stuff…
@@Cornpop-xq4xf Really? Funny, they seemed pretty thankful, and nobody ever gave me any trouble for it. I guess all of those nice people I spent years with secretly resented me for being poor. That would be a very sad world view to have. I’m praying for you.
@@RealBelisariusCawl I didn’t just make this up, I’ve had multiple Baptist church leaders tell me this directly to my face while I was volunteering. If you actually had money to give them they would have treated you differently. Why would they pressure you when you didn’t have any money to give anyways. Open your eyes man and save your prayers for my pastors living in their mansions.
@@Cornpop-xq4xf this is why I go to a proper community and God centred church, these systemic church's like Roman Catholicism and sometimes baptist always have some sort of corruption🥲. Ofcourse I'm not saying all but yeah. If they demand money from you they are obviously greedy and are not doing it for God but for wealth. If they mistreat you find another church as well as let the holy spirit guide you to one
Giving doesn't just look like giving money. Time, talent, resources, finances - all things certain people have an abundance of to give. God has prepared good works for us to walk in (Ephesians 2:10). We should follow the lead of His Word and Spirit and walk in them. Not out of duty, but out of love and with God.
The rule of tithing, like circumcision, was only for the Jews. The tithes were to support the Levite priests who maintained the temple and supported the sick and widows etc. Greek and Roman gentiles were never required to tithe OR receive circumcision. The only amount that is given in the scriptures for disciples of Jesus to give is 2 Cor 9:7 “what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver”. That’s it!!! There is no set amount, no 10 percent requirement like what the Jews had. You will not find a rule for Christians to pay 10% of their income.
For those saying we are not obligated to give. No we are not but God gives us everything. Why not tithe back to him to show our appreciation and thankfulness. I also believe you can tithe your time to him as well.
@@SiceloKhumalo-mx9fi thats not true. Even in the Old Testament, when during war, any pillaged wealth must be tithed, not just everyday produce (grains, livestocks, etc). The commanders even gather special offerings from their soldiers because they are grateful they can keep their lives even when in war times.
I was raised by a mom who loved to thithe and I have learned the blessing of tithing to God with a cheerful heart and now my daughter is an amazing thither. This video is perfect. Thank you.
Impact videos This teaching is inaccurate. The tithes instructed in the “old” testament do not apply because there are no Levite priests or temples. Paul never instructs anyone to tithe but just talks about giving. Tithing does not exist today. I only hope in consistency of applying the law that you also teach to remember the sabbath and keep it holy. If not. You are just like many evangelical non denominational teachers cherry picking verses and text to try and fit the narratives and agendas that suit them.
I literally prayed this morning for wisdom, guidance, and help on how to give to God. I spent probably 20 minutes searching Google reading articles and reddit posts from other Christians. I finally came to UA-cam and your video was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you, and God bless you 🙏✝️❤️
When I tithe and give offerings, I give them directly to people who need it the most: the homeless, family and friends who need financial help, and people who travel across the country to share the gospel.
I’ve been asking about this for a while. I’d rather give it to people I can see and know that that money would make a difference to right now, rather than to a church
Yes it’s better to give to the needy. Most church’s have too much money now. But always remember, when you give to the poor, don’t be like the heathens and boast about it, do it in secret so that only God sees it. In secret shows your love and devotion to God. In public shows your love for man’s approval.
This is where most people and even Christians miss it. Giving to the poor and needy is good so as tithing. Bible says Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. Remember ignorance is always unto death, Bible says Obedience is better than sacrifice, the foolishness of God is better than human wisdom. Don’t be like a worldly person who always calculate the tithings and offerings of churches in their mind and always assume and conclude, men of God are taking advantage of church money. Yours is to obey what the Bible is saying and not your own thoughts, if Churches are messing with church offerings their judgment is in with God, just play your part as a believer and leave the rest to God. Remember the mind is the battle field of the enemy, and if you give the enemy the least chance, he’s going to lead you astray to miss your blessings
Christ talks about whatever we do for the "least of these" we do for Him. Read Matthew 25:31-46 about the Final Judgement. Here are some important highlights Giving to people in need it is giving to God. Matthew 25:37-40 ESV 37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ In the same way, turning a blind eye or doing evil to those in need is doing the same to God. Matthew 25:44-46 ESV. 44Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
If you're asking how much you should give, you're missing the point. It doesn't make you a bad person by any means, and it's a common confusion, but that's not how giving works. We are called to give everything. From every second to every penny, from every success to every joy - it is all for God and no-one else, and that includes yourself. We can all work on this! Thanks for another great video. I share these with family and friends often, and they're a great inspiration for many. I'm always excited to see what the week's topic is!
This video is wrong, you actually should be giving 10% of your money to the church to supports its general operation, an additional 10% of your money to the church for feast days, and every 3 years and additional 10% for the poor and the widow. Christians are commanded according to not only the New Testament but the Old Testament as well to continue to tithe in such a manner and give 20% of our income every year to the church every year and 30% every third year. If everyone gave to the church 10% of their money and we practiced tithing principles everything would work correctly and our income would cause churches not to struggle financially, if we set aside 10% of our income for feast days we would never struggle to have enough to celebrate the feasts, and if everybody gave the third year tithe to help those in need to poor and less fortunate would be taken care of. If the law required God's people to tithe to the Earthly Tabernacle which was only a copy and a shadow of the true Tabernacle in heaven, why would we not be required to give tithes in regard to the true Tabernacle and the great High priest, yeshua? And your local church should also be tithing 10% of their tithes in a heave offering. Numbers 18:21, Deuteronomy 14:24-26, Deuteronomy 14:28-29, Hebrews chapter 7
The Fighting for the Faith channel gives an excellent breakdown of the Old testament covenants and how we are NOT required to tithe anymore bc we are NOT under those old covenants. The conclusion? God loves a cheerful giver. Give however much you want to give 😊
Today is Sunday and I am about to go to church. I was struggling with how much I should pay for tithe, opened UA-cam and this was just right there waiting for me to watch, this is the work of the Holy spirit I believe. Now I can use this for the rest of my life. This channel is the best❤ may GOD Bless you with more ideas 💡

@@mikewayne6608 I feel even better, cuz God’s presence is real! And I agree with the explanation because I comprehend that that explanation truly is according to the Bible! But, lemme se what’s your point of view about it? 🤔
@@thiagotavares9428 I encourage you to go back and review each passage used in this video. Read the scriptures in context. Unfortunately, the Bible in the hands of a skilled deceiver is very convincing. Please keep in mind how The devil approached the Lord Jesus. The devil used scriptures to try to get Jesus to obey him. Secondly, Tithing is for the nation of Israel, Lev 27:30-34. Giving and Tithing and not the same. Israel was commanded to tithe. Christian's are encouraged to give cheerfully. Also keep in mind, Abram tithed from the spoils of war. And the rest he gave back to the king of Sodom. He kept nothing for himself. Please read Genesis 14. And Malachi 3 is commanding the priests to bring the tithe (food) into the storehouse (not a metaphor) literal food, grains etc. The tithe is 🚫 money. If you propose in your heart to give a tenth, give a tenth. Giving a tenth of your paycheck is not 🚫 a biblical tithe. A biblical is literally food, not money.
@@mikewayne6608 Oh, I liked your point of view, according to the Bible. But, you know sth, in that time (when Old Testament was written) the things didn’t work as they work nowadays, for example, the currency of exchange was often the food, the animal and what the field produce. So, don’t you agree that you tithing your money or food, isn’t it the same? I mean, isn’t it with the same pure intention?! About your first point (Lv27:30-34), I see that some commandments in context was really for that time and for Israel’s nation. But, didn’t Christ adopted us as children as Him consider Israel?! So, I see no problem with accept some commandments that praise God, like this one, the tithe. Do you see?
@@thiagotavares9428 Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately, you are doing what the UA-camr was guilty of, no context. Let's move beyond the OT for a moment. Please cite one verse showing the Apostles teaching tithing or an example of tithing. Also money existed during the time tithing was instituted. Please read the scriptures in context, otherwise you will get it wrong. Lastly, if you want to believe biblical Tithing is possible and commanded for the Christian Church today, fine. However, that would not be accurate, true or biblical. I would encourage you to look up every verse concerning "tithe, tithed, tithes, tithing, tenth etc'' in context. Thanks
Man, this video is so special. The tip #3 impacted me, also as the story of your friend. As it says in the book of Job, God gives us EVEN MORE THAN THE DOUBLE of what we give to him. Blessed be our Lord!! ♥♥💵💵
In my experience, giving voluntary tithe is a good personal reminder that everything we get is a gift of God. I remember that I wouldn't have this money without God. Therefore, to show my respect and appreciation for God's gift, I give a tenth to further God's work.
I dont have a church home at this time. I hold out a little more than 10% and give where needed when i see someone with a need . It is all i can do at this time as i do not have a church home.
The Levitical tithe was an institution of Jewish Law for the upkeep of the Temple, administration, and the Levitical Priesthood because Levites were forbidden to work. BUT, giving to the Ministry of the Lord is definitely a good thing and is required of us. Ministries need financing. Giving of our first fruits is Scriptural, but "tithing" is part of Jewish Levitical Law that went the way of sacrificing bulls and doves. Semantics...
Yes! Levitical law. And yes, money and offerings are def needed to keep a meeting place open, unless you meet somewhere else like the park or a coffee shop. Then you don't need anything. No insurance payments, no water bill... Just like Jesus did. If we could only follow his example, we wouldn't need the money for a building. God bless street preachers
@martiniloganmartinilogan83 Agreed. We should definitely support the churches and ministries that we are part of, but the giving isn't rhe Biblically prescribed Tithe that many of have been taught that it is.
Exactly. And if you read on in Malachi, the tithe was of crops and their harvest. To be stored for helping others. There was money around at the time, shekels, talents, but it's crops being referred to. There is no tithing in the new Testament as it is under the law. Christ freed us all from the law, Jews and Gentiles. We can't keep the law, but if we try to keep the law of tithing, we must keep the WHOLE law. The bible explains this in Romans. Nowhere in the new Testament does Paul say we must tithe. He tells us to give what we purpose in our hearts and do it cheerfully. Preaching that those who do not tithe are robbing God is FALSE. You must RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD, what is for the Jews ..... and what is for the church. God Bless
Yes Lord!!!!!!!!!! Jesus gave "IT ALL" for us on the Cross!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Impact Ministry for emphasizing the importance of tithing!!!!!!! God bless🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 love the teaching!!!!!!!!
Very well put up, based on scripture. Truly, I can say out of my experience and what I've seen in my mother's life, God is debtor to no one. I was just telling my cousin last week about Tithing as he just started working. Will share with him. Thank you for your time and effort, May God be with you.
Tithing is an Old Testament concept. The tithe was a requirement of the Law in which the Israelites were to give 10 percent of the crops they grew and the livestock they raised to the tabernacle/temple (Leviticus 27:30; Numbers 18:26; Deuteronomy 14:24; 2 Chronicles 31:5). In fact, the Old Testament Law required multiple tithes-one for the Levites, one for the use of the temple and the feasts, and one for the poor of the land-which would have pushed the total to around 23.3 percent. Some understand the Old Testament tithe as a method of taxation to provide for the needs of the priests and Levites in the sacrificial system. After the death of Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law, the New Testament nowhere commands, or even recommends, that Christians submit to a legalistic tithe system. The New Testament nowhere designates a percentage of income a person should set aside, but only says gifts should be “in keeping with income” (1 Corinthians 16:2). Some in the Christian church have taken the 10 percent figure from the Old Testament tithe and applied it as a “recommended minimum” for Christians in their giving. Although no tithe is demanded of the Christian, the New Testament talks about the importance and benefits of giving. We are to give as we are able.
This! ☝🏽 Seen way too many people suffer because of the lies the church gives about the utmost importance of tithing. Tithing isn’t a way to rectify ourselves before the Almighty. Jesus is. And in his name and your love for him, you should tithe accordingly. Example of old lady giving two silver coins out of the kindness of her heart. Instead of the Pharisees who gave because of tithing/10% of their High earnings. Mark 12:41-44
Although the figure 10% is debatable, the more important point is what the tips shared in this video says. I feel the 10% figure is a reasonable amount to pick regardless of what one thinks about the source of the number come from. Tithing/giving is FOR US, so even if some bad churches lies about it to get money out of people, doesnt mean we should decrease or adjust our tithing wilfully. Seek a better place to tithe instead. The reason i think 10% is a good figure to recommend with, is you can definitely still live with 90% of the income. While this might seem cruel to those with lower income, its actually the opposite. If your income is already low and you are already suffering a bit, this is actually perfect chance to strengthen your faith. Will you trust God to take care of you, despite you tithing 10% of your already low income? Or will you fear the future, and trust that 10% income money instead of God? Maybe those who arent used to tithing cant rightaway give 10%, but it doesnt mean we should just abolish the 10% recommended number too.
We are to give according to what a man has and not according to what he has not, but I also know from experience what the Lord does when you give according to what the Holy Spirit lays on your heart to, and to where that giving is to go, it makes a huge difference. For me - every thing I have belongs to Elohim Adonai anyway and He knows the best use of it all. Bottom line which sounds like a cliche but truly isn’t You can’t out give Elohim
For years I struggled to give back to God that which he's already given me. One of the most dangerous things a Christian can do is not only disbelieve in God's goodness, but to attempt to bargain with him. I would always say, "God, when I'm financially, relationally, emotionally, etc comfortable/stable then I'll serve you fully." This was a huge stumbling block for my faith. Through a series of prayer and council in my life, it was shown that I made personal finance an idol, finding my security in my frugality and financial prudence over God's provision. The point in this is that anything that we put above , God, is an idol, and in my life that was money. Now I give generously (not just my home church but various ministries), I donate the tax refunds I get back from my donations, and I've learned how to pursue God for who he is and not what I can get out of him.
This was a great video, there's a lot of debate on who we should be tithing to and if tithing is still required. I always tell people that if you don't have a church yet, give to the poor or donate your tithe to a local charity that feeds the poor.
Thank you for this informative video! Giving comes from the heart and don't be shamed into giving 💵💵because God sees your heart and you can give him other things in other ways 💖Thank you Impact Video Ministries. Your vids changed my life and walk with Christ at 14.
Generally a tithe is to be given to the storehouse where the needy are given from. That's actually what the church and missionaries are supposed to do with tithes...GIVE TO THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE So by principle, your tithe should go to a church of God that is helping the people of God in need. Those who have give so that those who don't have would not lack As a believer though, you must still be generous to those around you, your friends in need, your family, school mates, whatever. Generosity is paramount as a Christian. It's not just to the church

THIS IS EXCELLENT TEACHING ON TITHE...I JUST WISH THAT TALENTS AND TIME WERE ADDED....GOD WANTS 10 PERCENT OF OUR TIME GIFTS AND TALENTS. MY HUSBAND GAVE 20 PERCENT BECAUSE OF HOW GOOD HE'S BEEN TO US. 🛐✝️🙏🏻⛪️🙌🏼
I've been looking for a video like this. I want to give back, but I've been so unsure of how He wants me to. In the Word, things like produce and flocks were given, but their money was almost never given, which caused me confusion. In fact, they would often consume their own tithe on the way to tithe if the trip was too long and would use money to purchase more to use as a tithe. The Word also mentions that the tithe is to be used to feed the homeless, the orphan, and the widow. Then I began to wonder if I should be giving more than just money, but food, clothes, and other provisions. I'm still a bit unsure, but this video did help.
In OT money wasnt a common thing so most tithe by giving their produce (mostly food). In modern world money is basically a tool to buy most things of this world, thats why no one pays their employee with produce anymore because its simpler with money. Its a currency just like produce representing the result of our work, so you can easily think of tithing with money is the equivalent with OT people giving their produce. We work for our life necessity, but we also give some of that work result to God as gratitude for our lives, that work result can be in the form of produce or money.
This is always something that has come up in my mind, because I don't tithe to the church. I tithe outside of church, in the Lord's name, and with a cheerful heart. I don't keep track of how much I give, nor do I let it weigh me down, because money is not my God. I feel this is acceptable, and don't feel the holy spirit is convicting me in any way. But what are your thoughts?
God didn't change His words. 10% + of every income or it's not a tithe. That includes a tax refund. Malachi 3:6-10 Breaking Covenant by Withholding Tithes 6 “I the LORD do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. 7 Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD Almighty. “But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’ 8 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse -your whole nation-because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.
Hebrews chapter 7, 1st Corinthians chapter 9, Deuteronomy chapter 14, Numbers chapter 18, Leviticus chapter 27, Malachi chapter 3. Yes, you need to tithe to your church ⛪! The levitical priesthood is inferior to the priesthood of Yeshua according to Hebrews chapter 7 because Yeshua is a priest forever in the order of melchizedek, even the Levites gave tithes to him through Abraham. Hey right in the video he says if you're going to receive teaching you should pay the teacher, you're using the church's services but you're not giving them any money according to your own words. Just kind of odd
I appreciate that you are earnestly asking. Unfortunately what you’re doing is not tithing, it’s charity/lending to God. (Proverbs 19:17). Don’t get me wrong, that’s great and we should all be doing that, but if you aren’t keeping track of how much you give and you’re just doing it here and there, then it isn’t tithing and it isn’t the first fruits of your labor, it’s what you have left over. Giving the first fruits of your labor is when you sit down and figure out your income and then immediately set aside the 10% to God before figuring out your own budget. Each year I take a moment in January to set up auto payment for a set amount to my church to be taken out each payday and I never see that money. (I say this just to give an example of how I do it, not looking to be commended.) My recommendation would be to find a church that you feel at home in and who’s efforts you support and tithe with them. It’s the best money you can possibly ever “spend.” God bless 🎚️
@@scottsponaas Will take into consideration. In my environment, there is no set “community” I have as I constantly move. But I will consider it. I try to avoid the technicalities of setting aside exactly 10% since it feels disingenuous for me, but I’ll figure it out in time. Thanks for the comment, God bless and Godspeed 👋🏼
@@KBowWow75but isn’t that the Old Testament Law? We aren’t under the Law anymore right? The New Testament nowhere designates a percentage of income a person should set aside, but only says gifts should be “in keeping with income” (1 Corinthians 16:2)”
What I think people don’t realize is that giving isn’t necessarily only with things of monetary value. For example people could devote time to certain causes or take part in charities, as something similar was mentioned in the video. For me as a school child I can’t exactly give a tenth of what I owe in monetary value or I’d be flat broke within a few weeks, however I can devote a certain amount of time to help others, like donating old clothes or toys to the less fortunate or helping school fundraisers
I mean, savings isnt income per se but i get your idea 😂. Also rather than that i think most are just too fearful that cutting 10% will make their life "oh so much, too much harder". They have too little trust in God to take care of their daily needs, hence why i think 10% figure is a good number to try to reach, obviously with a joyful heart too.
Im on long term low disabilty . I cant work anymore couse of my physical health. I told my local church i can buy toilet paper. They asked me to get a job . I never went back. Titheing more then 10% isnt gonna make most people rich. My faith has got me all i need. I gave 10% to charity when i worked. I know of a retired pasture who made $100,00 a year.
I was just reading my study Bible and I read about Melchizedek, and I decided that he must be Jesus, but I wasn’t sure. I didn’t want to jump to the wrong conclusion, especially since scripture doesn’t explicitly say this, but I thought that Melchizedek bringing Abram the supplies for communion, receiving his tithe, and what Romans says about him, it was just the only explanation. Then I decided to click on this video, and what you said was just confirmation from The Lord! Awesome video!!
Why would anyone automatically assume that Jesus is Melchizedek? That makes no sense. What was Jesus going to do with this stuff? Was He just going to abandon it when He went back to Heaven? This is such a ridiculous concept.
@@dapperdishboy My point was not that Jesus is Melchizedek coming back, but that Melchizedek is Jesus meeting Abraham, who God chose to be the father of his people. Jesus says in John 8:56-58 that “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” In this regard, Jesus could have asserted that He is God by saying that He showed Abraham his day either in heaven or the place referred to as “Abraham’s bosom,” but instead he chose to assert His Godly nature by explained that He existed before Abraham, so he had the capability to show Abraham his day while on earth. There are other scriptures from the Bible that I could give to explain this point of view, but this is the line of reasoning. Also to your point of asking what Jesus’ purpose of this was, the purpose was likely to show Abraham the future and give him hope for his descendants as he decided to trust and have faith in The Almighty. However, we don’t know for sure, so we can only speculate. However, limiting God to only what seems usual is not the way to go, as He can do as he pleases. God’s will is perfect, and if He chose to, He could send Jesus in the form of Melchizedek to comfort and strengthen Abraham. God is not limited to our understanding. Praying blessings and peace over you, God bless.
@ChristianTorres07 Jesus was with two angels and met with Abraham after Abraham was circumcised. Abraham and Sara prepared a meal and Jesus and the angels ate. This is where Jesus promised Abraham and Sara a child. Afterwards, Jesus said they were on their to Sodom. This is implicitly the Lord. Melchizedek was never said to be God, but a priest of God.
@@dapperdishboy Yes this is all true. However, I don’t believe this was the extent of Jesus showing Abraham His day. It is said that Melchizedek brought bread and wine to Abraham, and blessed him in the name of The Lord. Also, Hebrews 7:1-3 reads: “For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated “king of righteousness,” and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace,” without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.” In this passage, Melchizedek is shown to not just be any ordinary priest, but also a king. He’s also no ordinary king, but the King of Peace and Righteousness. He is not an ordinary human, but also has no beginning and no end. Only one figure in the Bible is ever shown to have these qualities, and that figure is The Lord.
I really appreciate your video on tithing. I am struggling a lot on giving with a cheerful heart because I was judged harshly for not giving money to my old church and the ghosts of those people haunt me to this day. How can I move on and learn to trust God and give with a cheerful heart? This has been a thorn in my side for years
Just yesterday I had a debate that lasted from 1am till 5am with a family member about tithing. 18 hours later I open my rarely used second UA-cam channel and this video is recommended by YT, it's the only Christian video in the whole feed, more specifically it addresses Tithing, the exact Theme of my debate earlier today! And even shocking, the first few minutes of this video are spoken with accurate similarity as my debater. I'm tithing again after I was confused about it for a while, my answer from God. Thanks, Host. -----------Update (I'm not tithing, be careful of being deceived, read the Bible to show yourself approved ) as of August, 2, 2024 it is very clear that I can't pick and choose how to tithe, tithing only 10% does not cut it as the Bible has clear cut rules/method and seasons of how and when to tithe. I figured that I've been mislead. I must share with you the breakdown of tithing strictly from the Bible, you can open the Bible to proof check. I'm left asking myself why Pastors are not teaching from the Word of God but inventing their own manner of tithing when it is clear the Bible said " Collect the Tithe annually", so why are they not following the word of God? Why are they asking for tithes every paycheck? Also modern pastors are not collecting the Festival, poor, incl. Levitical tithes. Why are they not, I don't know? Why leave out two forms of tithing that the Bible clearly dictates should be also included? I present to you The three tithes mentioned in the Bible: So, in a three-year cycle, the breakdown would be: Year 1: 10% (Levitical) + 10% (Festival) = 20%. Leviticus 27:30-33 and Numbers 18:21-24 Year 2: 10% (Levitical) + 10% (Festival) = 20%. Deuteronomy 14:22-27 Year 3: 10% (Levitical) + 10% (Festival) + 10% (Poor) = 30%. Deuteronomy 14:28-29 and Deuteronomy 26:12-13. Thus, over three years, the total amount given would be 20% + 20% + 30% = 70% of one's income or produce, with an average of approximately 23.3% per year. This is Biblical tithing, the current churches do not teach this truth. Levitical Tithe: 10% of one's income or produce, given annually to support the Levites. Leviticus 27:30-33 and Numbers 18:21-24 Festival Tithe: An additional 10% of one's income or produce, also given annually, to be used for religious festivals and celebrations. Deuteronomy 14:22-27 Poor Tithe: This tithe was collected every third year and also amounted to 10% of one's income or produce for that year, to support the poor and needy. Deuteronomy 14:28-29 and Deuteronomy 26:12-13. To calculate the total amount of tithing over a three-year period, one would: Pay the Levitical Tithe (10%) every year (Annually, not every Sunday). The Levitical Tithe: This is the primary tithe, given to support the Levites, who were the tribe of Israel set apart to serve in the temple and had no inheritance of their own. This tithe is mentioned in Leviticus 27:30-33 and Numbers 18:21-24. It constituted one-tenth of a person's produce or income. Pay the Festival Tithe (10%) every year (Annually, not every Sunday). The Festival Tithe: This tithe was set aside for religious festivals and feasts, as described in Deuteronomy 14:22-27. It was meant to support the celebration of holy days and to be shared with the Levites and others in need. Pay the Poor Tithe (10%) every third year. The Poor Tithe: Also known as the "third-year tithe," this was given every third year to support the Levites, foreigners, orphans, and widows. It is mentioned in Deuteronomy 14:28-29 and Deuteronomy 26:12-13.
It's amazing to me often this happens. The words I need to someone who does not believe are often provided a day or two ahead of time. This is the ONE thing that mildly annoys about God. He tends to act on his promises the day before or day of, to let you know it's Him doing it.
Tithe is supposed to go to the temple. There is no temple. Tithe was never for the local synagogue or church. It’s impossible to tithe today as commanded. We are commanded to give for various reasons. To help the poor and things like that. However there is no commandment to give 10% to your church. The temple is a completely different thing than a local church.
Just to add to this....one of the old testament tithes was used to support the Levitical priesthood. In the old testament we are all Royal Priests therefore the apostles doctrine (acts2v42-47 and Acts4v32-37) has replaced the tithe. We still give to support the Priesthood and since we are all Royal Priests we give to meet the needs of our fellow brothers and sisters. God sees this as a sacrifice of a sweet smelling fragrance.
@@markferguson1338 Those verses don’t have anything to do with tithing. The tithe was required to go to the temple. In additional to that more giving is commanded to take care of the poor. There is no temple so it’s impossible to tithe however we are still commanded to take care of those in need. If you want a building to meet and worship at then the people will have to give money to make that happen. That’s not a tithe though. We aren’t commanded to give 10% to our local church.
I 100% agree with this video, but what’s needs to be understood is that under the new covenant tithing no longer “the law”. God will bless you for giving, but he will not curse you for not - I have experienced similar blessings to the $10k story - I do not consider myself a “tither” but my offerings/giving are always equivalent or more to that of is considered tithing.
Tithing is giving a portion of what most deem valuable here on this earth. 1/10th of food, time, and other resources. Its reveals to God that you believe in your whole heart how much He can restore 💕 The Church is not a "building" per say, the church is the body of Christ. When children of God join together then we become the body. Giving is for us, and not for God...meaning we must give to eachother as a way to Honor God in Heaven ONLY ❤️ Imagine if we all shared our bit of resources with eachother, i mean absolutely none of us would go without. God will restore and multiply for everyone! AMEN JESUS is the ONLY way to salvation 🙏🏾❤️
I really want to thank you right now as your videos and preaching of how to be a better Christian and have a Christian lifestyle has helped me see a lot to grow closer with Him. every time I see your Videos i just feel a great sense of the Holy spirit working through me and you've just made a great impact on my journey to be closer with God. so, I just want to really thank you for that. Praise the Almighty Heavenly Father that loves us dearly.
Thank you so much! Now I fully understand what tithe is. I am a new Christian and I thank God for your dedication and talent! Glory to God, God bless you
It's funny how people (usually Christian leaders) misappropriate stories like the widow's mite and conflate concepts such as firstfruits and tithing instead of holding to minimal standards for Biblical interpretation.
It’s funny how tithing, a legal requirement of the 11 tribes to tithe 10 percent to the tribe that had no land rights, is twisted into a method of financing a Sunday service organization, often called a church. There isn’t the same fervor for teaching about the merits of circumcision. I wonder why that is. We all instinctively know why that is. Good work on promoting the importance of giving, though. God wants our money and hearts.
In our case, tithing is helping us let go of materialism. We weren't giving 10% and since we corrected that it's allowed/forced us to nearly cease contributing to our hobbies. I'm increasingly discouraged by the rampant consumerism and want to break free of the addiction of collecting. Since we upped our giving we've had to die to self. My flesh is recoiling, but I'm getting used to letting go of the urge to update my collections regularly. And I've been able to shift more of my attention towards the things of God.
I really love your videos . Your little characters are very effective and the way you say things . The style in which you do these videos is also really well done . I can tell you're an amazing artist even in these simple drawings. Your communication is also top notch. Thank you for your hard work ! God is Good !
Bible definition of tithing: depends on what time frame the conversation is about. Prior to the Mosaic Law a tithe was 10% of anything, anywhere and any time. After the Mosaic Law was given the definition of a tithe changed BUT ONLY when the conversation was about food given in support of the tabernacle. Yes, the tithing required by the Mosaic Law was ALWAYS food. Lev 27:30 - 32 describes one tithe (there were 3 different tithes but were always food from the land of Israel). The issue about who is supposed to tithe this food is settled one verse later. Lev 27:34 These are the commandments that the Lord commanded Moses for the people of Israel on Mount Sinai. Brother George
Churches often focus heavily on the idea of tithing 10%, a practice rooted in the Old Testament that was specific to the cultural context of that time. However, Jesus encourages us to give from our abundance with a cheerful heart. The amount you give is less important than the attitude with which you give it. Give what you can, as long as it brings you joy, and God will bless you. If, down the line, you feel called to give more, that's a personal decision between you and God.
We have given online for years. That way we make sure it's always paid. However, it occurred to me one day that our kids never saw us putting money in the plate. They had assumed we weren't giving. We explained how we give. Make sure your kids know about your online giving as an example to them.
Hello, I will be saying this on the perspective of a Pastor's son. Church members who give tithes DO give their offerings to God, though the tangible money will go to the Pastor's daily needs, the Ministry cannot run without tithes because pastors lives off grace of god. It's hard to explain, and I am not a natural english speaker, though Tithes goes to God, by redistributing the blessing to the Pastor or the Ministry, so that the Pastor and Ministry can do more for God. So its a cycle
This is how my family lives, I thank God for His blessings, and tithes arent mandatory, it is encouraged but no one in the church will force you to give your tithes. So consider this as a donation to the church and for the pastor so he can do more good things for the glory of God.
I tithed for years until recently. My family fell on hard times. Still thankful to God for everything but we just have no money right now. Planning to start again as soon as we are on our feet!
Tithing in your hard times means more to God. This is because it shows your faith. So I encourage you to tithe in your hard times as well. God will bless you and you will be taken care of by God.
I struggle so much with tithing and offering. I always think my bills or tithing …. Then I think about all the churches were pastors waste the funds on themselves. But your illustrations and your lovingly explanation of it makes it so much easier to understand. Thank you.
It all belongs to God ultimately. If we use the money he allows us in accordance with his will, God will ensure it goes where it needs to go. The idea that it's our money is a distortion. God has provided us each with everything we have. If we're giving it back to God in any capacity, we must give humbly and in recognition that it's God's in the first place and that giving it back to him doesn't deserve praise or recognition, but humility and the understanding that all the glory is God's.
I'm reading Wide as the Waters about the writing of the English bible. According to John Wycliffe he seemed to be equally as skeptical about tithing as he was about indulgences. He actually is quoted in this book as saying from his treatise, The Curse Expounded, "why are curates so severe in exacting tithes, since Christ and his Epistles took no tithes, as men do now; nor even spoke of them, either in the gospel or the epistles?" If you will do a little research on Wycliffe, you will find yourself hard pressed to claim yourself more of an authority than he was on Biblical matters. Wycliffe had concluded from his study of the New Testament that the ministry of the Gospel was meant to be supported by voluntary contributions from the folk.(Bobrick, p.37) Please kindly consider the damage done by insisting that tithing should be done in the New Testament Church or that it even should be done based on a person's income which doesn't even fit the Greek and Hebrew translations founded in Luke 18:12 which translates as bring given from "all things that I have in possession" and not from income.
We should be aware that Melchizedek and Abraham giving their tithes was foreshadowing of the command of God given in Leveticus to the Israelites to teach them. And later on in Malachi for the temple and levetical obligation. In the new testament however, nowhere so we find any command given to Christians ( Jews and gentiles because We are not under the Law yet we can give and follow the template of the Jews but not as a form of tithe but giving to the Lord.
Your videos are incredibly helpful to newly reborn followers in Christ such as myself. Thank you for all that you do in the Spirit. Love you, brother. ❤
400 years before law there was already a tithe, which only means law isn't under the law only. you can still tithe today coz the order of melkizedek is still here which is Jesus. so tithe is still applicable in our age
@@jbemb1216 before the law there was also the concept of clean and unclean animals but we don't practice that today? should we cherry pick as we choose?
I dunno about it… In old times offerings were there to help one each other. But nowadays in the states, at least, it’s mostly just for maintaining building and pastors’ salary. Sure, supporting missionaries is a thing, but most church I know of collect them separately. Of course many churches, hopefully, help people in need (like they have pantry just to give out to poor people), but how often? Churches I attended weren’t too active about it, so I gotta ask a question. Where’s my and others money going???
I wouldn't trust this youtuber. Romans 7 explains how the old covenant died to us. Meaning we no longer Follow that law. Jesus is the new covenant. Romans 7 compares it to a woman with an old husband and a new husband. Galatians warns about going back to the old laws and trying to be justified by them. This includes falsely thinking you are being obedient by going back to the old laws. Paul strictly emphasizes that this is a false gospel and that if someone is trying to keep one old covenant law they are a debtor of the whole law. The tithes were resources and not money that were given to the Levites as food. The Levitical priesthood was under the old covenant. The tithes were for them as well as the windows, orphans, and foreigners. This youtuber also falsely uses Melchizedek. Hebrews 7 describes that the priesthood of Melchizedek is greater than that of Aaron. This is because Levi paid tithes via Abraham to Melchizedek. Remember Israel Paid tithes for the levites and Levi paid tithes to Melchizedek through Abraham. The old covenant was under Levitical The new is Under Jesus, by order of Melchizedek. Jesus as described in Hebrews 2 is not ashamed to call us brothers. So we are brothers to him. If we are brothers with Melchizedek, we don't pay tithes. And since the old covenant is dead to us, no one pays tithes to us. To pay tithes is to say you wish to be under the priesthood of levi. Which the bible, Especially Galatians, calls a false gospel. Falling from grace to works if you do so. Meaning that one will go to hell if they pay tithes in the same way if they keep the food laws, circumcision, sacrifice laws, all in a vain effort to gain favor with God when he already sent Jesus as a free gift. It would be like the woman going to the grace of her dead husband and clinging to his bones all while the new husband looks on with disgust. Tithing is very disrespectful to Jesus. Jesus also says he is the only head and we are brothers. So there is no hierarchy of Clergy and laity (that comes from paganism) Jesus tells us that we are not to be like the rulers of the Gentiles who lord over them and exercise authority. Matthew 20 25 But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. 26 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. 27 And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave- 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” He also emphasizes it more here in Matthew 23 5 But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments. 6 They love the [b]best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues, 7 greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, ‘Rabbi, Rabbi.’ 8 But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your [c]Teacher, [d]the Christ, and you are all brethren. 9 Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. 10 And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. 11 But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whoever exalts himself will be [e]humbled, and he who humbles himself will be [f]exalted. He says not to call each other rabi (which also means not taking on titles like pastors too. Not saying the role biblically speaking. But the title. The role that people have made up today is nothing like how it was in the bible) Jesus says only he is the teacher. And to not exalt oneself. (Think about that whenever a *"Pastor"* walks into a room and everyone stands up for him as if he is a king) Giving Giving as described in various parts of the new testament Romans 15 1 Corinthians 16 2 Corinthians 8 Acts 11:27 started with the prophesy Was all about giving to the needy. It wasn't so that pastors can get money and get rich. It likely wasn't even just money as . As for the gifts laid at the apostles feet in Acts 4:32-36 The apostles didn't keep it for themselves as payment for preaching. They redistributed it all to anyone that lacked. This included lands, houses, etc. Each to those in need. You will not find this with many "pastors" of today. Most horde the income given to them as a paycheck. This is why Timothy 6:3-6 warned of them. These people who think godliness is a means of gain. Literally telling us to stay away from these people "From such withdraw yourself." "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil" Describes stuff being given to the poor saints in Jerusalem who were about to endure more hardship because of a famine that was prophesized. Stay away from this youtuber. By teaching tithing he has made himself a false gospel preacher in the same way Judaizes tried to push circumcision on gentiles.
amen brother. these past few days, i've been thinking about tithing to church. but i am busy and i have deadlines. i am just noting to myself that i need to tithe, its been a month since i have my new job and still not giving back to God. Thank u for this reminder.
About the Malachi issue: A lot of prophets have recorded lots of different things in the Bible. Sometimes those warnings are for every believer and sometimes not. We do not need to guess. Malachi 1:1 The oracle of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi. The important term is TO ISRAEL. It means what it says. Malachi's warning was not a warning for all Christians to tithe. Tithing is clearly part of the Mosaic Law and New Covenant Christians are not rewarded by picking out just one of the approximately 613 laws that governed the nation of Israel. Brother George
Awesome video today and thank you for teaching me something new. I dont think I have came across the name melchizedek before or simply overlooked it. Thank you again for your videos!!
Tithing doesn’t have to be with money, and while I’m glad it was mentioned to do research on whatever organization you plan on choosing to donate to, I find that many organizations simply can’t be trusted. What I recommend is helping others directly in your community. Whatever student(s) or teacher(s) need supplies or resources, offer to get those things or provide those services. If you lost a pet and don’t see yourself owning anymore, give your stuff to the local shelter. Offer to walk the dogs and socialize them on your time off. Live minimally, downsize space, which saves you money, which you can then offer to others when they need it. If you can, become a low income landlord, providing affordable living without compromising tenant safety. You don’t even have to give 10% all at once. Understand what is necessary for your living, and spend the rest on others. Buying lunch for coworkers/classmates, medications for family, gas money, tips, helping pay bills/debt, buying materials for repair/maintenance work for friends or family, etc
I don't believe Christians should discount the OT. Therefore, the tithe (10%) is still relevant today. God wants us to give to Him cheerfully, and, in return, this keeps us grateful and keeps us from greed. This is the higher purpose and benefit to tithing.
Then you’re this dispensationalism is way off. You’re deceiving yourself into believing in a lie. Of course you shouldn’t discount the Old Testament because the OT is important but that doesn’t mean everything in the Old Testament is relevant for us today.
@thymick5581 The tithe comes from our income, our livelihood. In past agrarian societies, that would have been animals, animal products, and food (and wine). We get paid money for our labor now.
You are 100% wrong, you are commanded to tithe in both the Old and New Testament. Obviously Malachi was quoted in the video. I'm going to quote you Hebrews chapter 7 verses 1 through 10: "7 This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, 2 and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, the name Melchizedek means “king of righteousness”; then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.” 3 Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever. 4 Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder! 5 Now the law requires the descendants of Levi who become priests to collect a tenth from the people-that is, from their fellow Israelites-even though they also are descended from Abraham. 6 This man, however, did not trace his descent from Levi, yet he collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises. 7 And without doubt the lesser is blessed by the greater. 8 In the one case, the tenth is collected by people who die; but in the other case, by him who is declared to be living. 9 One might even say that Levi, who collects the tenth, paid the tenth through Abraham, 10 because when Melchizedek met Abraham, Levi was still in the body of his ancestor."
Whether we’re commanded to or not, it should just be automatic. Choosing not to tithe is putting your own finances as a priority above God when you should be giving Him the best of everything you’ve got. There should be absolutely no reason that a Bible-believing Christian would object to giving God the firsfruits of their labor. Not only do you deprive God’s people, you deprive yourself as the Lord loves a cheerful giver and always makes sure it comes back to you. Proverbs 3:9-10 9 Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; 10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. When I first became a believer a few years back, I noticed that the churches were encouraging (not demanding or requiring) tithing and at the time I was on a limited income. I decided to pray about it one night and the next morning when I woke up, I opened my Bible to do the day’s reading and Malachi 3 was assigned. I got my answer: Malachi 3:8-10 8 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse-your whole nation-because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. God literally refers to abstaining from tithing as robbing Him. I don’t know about you, but I think the first 1/10 of my earnings is the bare minimum I can do to push the Gospel forward in my community.
"Do you not know that those who Minister the holy things and eat of the things of the temple, and those who serve at the altar partake of the offerings of the altar? Even so, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel." 1st Corinthians chapter 9:13
Well what's wrong with that? The church enriches who spiritually, who will now take care of the church's physical needs? Strangers? Shouldn't it be those who benefit from the church? Let me show you a scripture 1 Corinthians 9:9-11 [9]For it is written in the Law of Moses, "You shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing." God is not concerned about oxen, is He? [10]Or is He speaking altogether for our sake? Yes, for our sake it was written, because the plowman ought to plow in hope, and the thresher to thresh in hope of sharing the crops. [11]If we sowed spiritual things in you, is it too much if we reap material things from you? The church's need should be met by believers. Granted many churches don't use finances the way Christ would be pleased with, but that shouldn't change your outlook towards helping the church of God
The only requirement on giving for Christians is in 2 Corinthians 9:7, which says, "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion." The tithe has nothing to do with money; it was about food. See Deuteronomy 12:5-7, 10-18; 14:22-26; II Chronicles 31:6-10; Nehemiah 10:37-39 and 13:4-5, 12. Also, see Deuteronomy 14:22-26 and all of chapter 26 (note especially verses 12-14).
Testimony:
I remember back in the ‘90s I was struggling to make ends meet. My paycheck one week was $150. So I figured, okay, write my church a check for $15.
But something in my heart said, “Make it for $20.”
I balked on that. “I’m living hand to mouth as it is.”
The answer: “Don’t worry, God will take care of you.”
Then something else said, “Yeah, that’ll be some comfort when you’re homeless and sucking sidewalk because you missed your payment.”
So I stopped.
Thank you, I needed this.
Give to the Catholic Church. The one true church . I think I'd actually give 5% of my income

Are you being sarcastic?

Most of the time those who give money also give time, talent etc.
Agree. This video is explaining tithe which is the financial part of giving.
God said bring your tithe to the store house that meat may abound, who does that?
More tithing deceptions 😅😅😅
For those saying we are not obligated to give. No we are not but God gives us everything. Why not tithe back to him to show our appreciation and thankfulness. I also believe you can tithe your time to him as well.
Tithe is not the same as giving, and yes we are not obligated to tithe
@@SiceloKhumalo-mx9fi❤❤
Yes we are absolutely obligated to give.
@@SiceloKhumalo-mx9fi thats not true. Even in the Old Testament, when during war, any pillaged wealth must be tithed, not just everyday produce (grains, livestocks, etc). This teaching is inaccurate.
@Jericho-xs3ju I don't want to argue but there are still plenty of churches in a 25 radius that I know that still do tithing. So

Here are some important highlights
Giving to people in need it is giving to God. Matthew 25:37-40 ESV
37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
In the same way, turning a blind eye or doing evil to those in need is doing the same to God.
I agree, the tithe is old covenant. We give as our heart says to. We are told to support out pastor too. No tithe necessary.

But when you're in need for financial assistance the church can step in because of the tithes
@martiniloganmartinilogan83 Agreed. We should definitely support the churches and ministries that we are part of, but the giving isn't rhe Biblically prescribed Tithe that many of have been taught that it is.
Hebrews 7:9-28

Haggai 2:8: “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the Lord of hosts.” Everything is His!!
Yet at no point in the Bible did God or Jesus ever ask for anyone's money.
Tithing is not originate in the law of Moises it is very clear that Abraham gave tithes to Melchizedek, and it is before the law.
We are to give to the poor ,that's what Jesus says in Luke 14:12-14,Matthew 19:21-24 we need to read the Bible for ourselves.
Bottom line which sounds like a cliche but truly isn’t
You can’t out give Elohim
This video has helped me I’m going to talk about tithe in the church on Saturday thank you God 😊 I’m taking points from here ❤❤
For years I struggled to give back to God that which he's already given me.
No job, No food, in debt and might be homeless, I'm tired. It's tough to keep going

This was a great video, there's a lot of debate on who we should be tithing to and if tithing is still required. I always tell people that if you don't have a church yet, give to the poor or donate your tithe to a local charity that feeds the poor.

When, when I prayed and asked the Lord who should the tithe go to. I heard “ Give it to the poor.” 🙏🏽
Generally a tithe is to be given to the storehouse where the needy are given from. That's actually what the church and missionaries are supposed to do with tithes...GIVE TO THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE
So by principle, your tithe should go to a church of God that is helping the people of God in need. Those who have give so that those who don't have would not lack
As a believer though, you must still be generous to those around you, your friends in need, your family, school mates, whatever. Generosity is paramount as a Christian. It's not just to the church
Your videos have helped me so much on my journey to get closer to God thank you for uploading

Giving can be more than 10% ♥️😊
This is always something that has come up in my mind, because I don't tithe to the church.
Malachi 3:6-10
Breaking Covenant by Withholding Tithes
6 “I the LORD do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. 7 Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD Almighty.
“But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’
8 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me.
“But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’
“In tithes and offerings.
(I say this just to give an example of how I do it, not looking to be commended.)
My recommendation would be to find a church that you feel at home in and who’s efforts you support and tithe with them. It’s the best money you can possibly ever “spend.” God bless 🎚️
@@scottsponaas Will take into consideration. In my environment, there is no set “community” I have as I constantly move. But I will consider it.
This has been a thorn in my side for years
Just know that you are free to give and not bound to pay. There's no such thing as a biblical tithe received from earned wages.
Impact video ministries your videos have blessed me so much
God bless you and everyone involved, much love from Nigeria
Thank you so much, everything was broken down to the tee. I really appreciate it 🙌🏽🎉
Just yesterday I had a debate that lasted from 1am till 5am with a family member about tithing.
I present to you The three tithes mentioned in the Bible: So, in a three-year cycle, the breakdown would be:
Year 1: 10% (Levitical) + 10% (Festival) = 20%. Leviticus 27:30-33 and Numbers 18:21-24
Year 2: 10% (Levitical) + 10% (Festival) = 20%. Deuteronomy 14:22-27
Year 3: 10% (Levitical) + 10% (Festival) + 10% (Poor) = 30%.
Leviticus 27:30-33 and Numbers 18:21-24
Festival Tithe: An additional 10% of one's income or produce, also given annually, to be used for religious festivals and celebrations. Deuteronomy 14:22-27
Poor Tithe: This tithe was collected every third year and also amounted to 10% of one's income or produce for that year, to support the poor and needy. Deuteronomy 14:28-29 and Deuteronomy 26:12-13.
To calculate the total amount of tithing over a three-year period, one would:
Pay the Levitical Tithe (10%) every year (Annually, not every Sunday).
So you’re tithing about 23 and 1/2 percent right?
@@markferguson1338
Those verses don’t have anything to do with tithing.
Its reveals to God that you believe in your whole heart how much He can restore 💕
The Church is not a "building" per say, the church is the body of Christ. When children of God join together then we become the body.
Giving is for us, and not for God...meaning we must give to eachother as a way to Honor God in Heaven ONLY ❤️
Imagine if we all shared our bit of resources with eachother, i mean absolutely none of us would go without. God will restore and multiply for everyone!
AMEN JESUS is the ONLY way to salvation 🙏🏾❤️

It's funny how people don't mind 20% tips to their waiters but struggle to return 10% tithe God
yes 20% tip of a $50 meal is the same as 10% of my entire paycheck.
@@MrAndyhdzI will pray for breakthrough financially in Jesus name Amen 🙏🏽
It's funny how people (usually Christian leaders) misappropriate stories like the widow's mite and conflate concepts such as firstfruits and tithing instead of holding to minimal standards for Biblical interpretation.
i mind tipping, I wish it wasn't included in transactions, especially shopping for groceries online.
I think you can give more than 10% for offering but ur tithe should always be 10%, thank you you're always a blessing, please do more
Hello, I will be saying this on the perspective of a Pastor's son.
God bless you, your family and your Father for serving the kingdom of God!
@@bendaniels2726 i agree with you. Unfortunately life isn’t always that simple my friend. Pray for me!
I struggle so much with tithing and offering. I always think my bills or tithing …. Then I think about all the churches were pastors waste the funds on themselves. But your illustrations and your lovingly explanation of it makes it so much easier to understand. Thank you.
Got me in tears brother, awsome info.
This was really good I’m sure God has blessed you with wisdom 👏👏👏🙏
Thank you so much for this video. May God bless you and your team ❤
I'm reading Wide as the Waters about the writing of the English bible. According to John Wycliffe he seemed to be equally as skeptical about tithing as he was about indulgences. He actually is quoted in this book as saying from his treatise, The Curse Expounded, "why are curates so severe in exacting tithes, since Christ and his Epistles took no tithes, as men do now; nor even spoke of them, either in the gospel or the epistles?"
If you will do a little research on Wycliffe, you will find yourself hard pressed to claim yourself more of an authority than he was on Biblical matters.
Wycliffe had concluded from his study of the New Testament that the ministry of the Gospel was meant to be supported by voluntary contributions from the folk.(Bobrick, p.37)
Please kindly consider the damage done by insisting that tithing should be done in the New Testament Church or that it even should be done based on a person's income which doesn't even fit the Greek and Hebrew translations founded in Luke 18:12 which translates as bring given from "all things that I have in possession" and not from income.
A very well put together video! Good job. Thank you for this
Such an encouraging story of your friend near the end. Thank you for sharing!
thank you so much for your help :)
I think I just found my new favorite UA-cam channel!!! ^^❤❤❤
This is so good. Thank you for sharing. Tithing/giving is always dear to my heart. I hope I can also share it clearly to others
Tithing is for the Israelites in the old covenant...giving with a cheerful heart for us believers...simple
THANK YOU JESUS 💞
I dunno about it…
In old times offerings were there to help one each other.
The old covenant was under Levitical
The new is Under Jesus, by order of Melchizedek.
So there is no hierarchy of Clergy and laity (that comes from paganism)
Jesus tells us that we are not to be like the rulers of the Gentiles who lord over them and exercise authority.
Matthew 20
25 But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. 26 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. 27 And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave- 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
He also emphasizes it more here in Matthew 23
5 But all their works they do to be seen by men.
The role that people have made up today is nothing like how it was in the bible)
Jesus says only he is the teacher. And to not exalt oneself. (Think about that whenever a *"Pastor"* walks into a room and everyone stands up for him as if he is a king)
Giving
Giving as described in various parts of the new testament
Romans 15
1 Corinthians 16
2 Corinthians 8
Acts 11:27 started with the prophesy
Was all about giving to the needy. It wasn't so that pastors can get money and get rich. It likely wasn't even just money as .
As for the gifts laid at the apostles feet in Acts 4:32-36
The apostles didn't keep it for themselves as payment for preaching.
Literally telling us to stay away from these people "From such withdraw yourself."
"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil"
Describes stuff being given to the poor saints in Jerusalem who were about to endure more hardship because of a famine that was prophesized.
Stay away from this youtuber. By teaching tithing he has made himself a false gospel preacher in the same way Judaizes tried to push circumcision on gentiles.
Yes secretly he does reward God is good ❤
Does the New Testament teach on giving the 10th or just giving cheerfully by the heart ?
amen brother.
these past few days, i've been thinking about tithing to church. but i am busy and i have deadlines. i am just noting to myself that i need to tithe, its been a month since i have my new job and still not giving back to God.
You are a man of God, Thanks for this it came in time of need as I had some doubts on tithe
Awesome video today and thank you for teaching me something new. I dont think I have came across the name melchizedek before or simply overlooked it. Thank you again for your videos!!
thank you for the support :)
Your videos always come off as genuine ❤ love your videos! Keep up the good work❤
I was intrigued by what you said about Jesus being on Earth before. Can you tell more, about it or provide sources where I can learn more?
I don't believe Christians should discount the OT. Therefore, the tithe (10%) is still relevant today. God wants us to give to Him cheerfully, and, in return, this keeps us grateful and keeps us from greed. This is the higher purpose and benefit to tithing.
Amen
Then you’re this dispensationalism is way off. You’re deceiving yourself into believing in a lie. Of course you shouldn’t discount the Old Testament because the OT is important but that doesn’t mean everything in the Old Testament is relevant for us today.
@@cephas5053 Covenant theology for me, my friend. Matthew 5:17.
@thymick5581 The tithe comes from our income, our livelihood. In past agrarian societies, that would have been animals, animal products, and food (and wine). We get paid money for our labor now.
@@cephas5053 Covenant theology for me. Matthew 5:17.
Amen. Thank you LORD for this clear message. Awesome study and awesome work.
I partially agree with the essence of this message except for tip #2. Christians are not obligated to tithe.
It was never ours to begin with. It was always God's.
You are 100% wrong, you are commanded to tithe in both the Old and New Testament. Obviously Malachi was quoted in the video. I'm going to quote you Hebrews chapter 7 verses 1 through 10:
"7 This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High.
Proverbs 3:9-10
9 Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
I got my answer:
Malachi 3:8-10
8 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me.
@@ristonalaimo5048 yes and we agree. But this is not concerning tithing. Nothing about tithing in that scripture.
Gods great ❤
My mom told me when we give offering it’s going to Jesus and now I know when we give offering it’s to help pay the church bills etc. 😭
Well what's wrong with that?
The church enriches who spiritually, who will now take care of the church's physical needs? Strangers? Shouldn't it be those who benefit from the church?
Let me show you a scripture
1 Corinthians 9:9-11
[9]For it is written in the Law of Moses, "You shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing." God is not concerned about oxen, is He?
[10]Or is He speaking altogether for our sake? Yes, for our sake it was written, because the plowman ought to plow in hope, and the thresher to thresh in hope of sharing the crops.
[11]If we sowed spiritual things in you, is it too much if we reap material things from you?
The church's need should be met by believers. Granted many churches don't use finances the way Christ would be pleased with, but that shouldn't change your outlook towards helping the church of God
I love your drawings, they are simple but transmit the great message.
The only requirement on giving for Christians is in 2 Corinthians 9:7, which says, "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion."
The tithe has nothing to do with money; it was about food. See Deuteronomy 12:5-7, 10-18; 14:22-26; II Chronicles 31:6-10; Nehemiah 10:37-39 and 13:4-5, 12. Also, see Deuteronomy 14:22-26 and all of chapter 26 (note especially verses 12-14).
Can you make a Video about what it means to love God of all of our soul, mind and strength, and how we can do it?❤
Pray and ask God if and how much you should give.
