I am giving this video a thumbs up, even though I am absolutely awful with spray paint and spray coatings of any kind. I am going to book mark this video for if I am forced to do it and I'll follow it to the letter. Thank you Sid.
Awesome, thank you.
A very helpful video indeed. Thanks for sharing.
Great video cyd. Thanks 👍😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the tips
No problem! 👍
I’m getting a new front bumper for my pre-facelift so might consider doing this. I’ll wait until it’s on before I make a final decision though. Thanks for this video 👌🏼 perfect timing as always 😂
I did it last year very good idea 👍
Great 👍I think it makes the car look a little more modern and adds a 'classy' finishing touch
Good job, Cyd. Just today afternoon I treated the black plastic parts on the C1 with silicone spray… After that I took her out for a ride in the Lake Constance countryside (I barely don’t move her). Thanks for the video and see you soon…
Ah, the Bodensee. I toured around there some years ago, staying in Konstanz and Friedrichshafen before visiting Nurchvanstein (forgive the spelling, lol)
@@CycloneCyd Your spelling is großartig, Cyd! 😄
0:29 oh Cyd, you underestimate my ineptitude.
Hey! Amazing video, thank you :) I was already thinking about doing this for some time, now I have a good guide to it. Could you post some photos or a video of how the car looks like with the painted bump strips? I am really curious if this has made the car look better (that is obviously for everyone to decide on their own).
These bump strips accept solution finish very nicely by the way. (Semi permanent finish) My saab 9-3 Aero's side strips were quite grey when I first bought it. I use solution finish twice a year on sides/front strips, they look like new now.. Not cheap but definitely worth it.
Yeah, they do, but I particularly wanted to go the colour coded route.
Hi Cyd, love your videos! Would you be able to show how to replace the serpentine belt on the Ford fiesta mark 8? Thanks!
How many cans did you use in total?
Hello,a couple of questions #1-I'm wondering what the temperature is, where your at? I'm asking because you keep saying to warm up the paint? #2- when baking parts what is the temperature setting, using F° instead of C° #3- Can you substitute acetone, mineral spirits , ECT or is lacquer thinner a better choice in this situation. I know I could just look these things up on the web, and while the answers are based on ones opinion, the amount of experience leading to that opinion varys drastically.
Hi! Just want to know if this did not chip? I want to make the plastic trim on the front to be 2 tone black and silver, thank you in advance
Make sure to use a really good quality 2k lacquer and bake the finished product properly (70-80C for an hour) after flashing off.
Hello, love your vids. How can i paint over my existing silver trims back to black?
Can you be more specific? Is the silver, paint or plastic?
@@CycloneCyd its body coloured plastic bump strips. Basically reverse of what you have done here. Back to black
@@Devrim283 All that'll need is a light sand (800 grit), a clean and paint with your choice of black. Don't try to go right down to the plastic, won't be half as good.
Need tutorial for door handles 2 Paul. Hint hint 😊
You wanna colour code your door handles, right? See if any of the 9-3 breakers have got a car the same colour with colour coded handles and just swap them out.
Door handles are not so easy to do. They are painted as individual parts before being assembled by the handle supplier.
If you can't find any the colour you need, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
@@CycloneCyd Ask to Ron etc 2, no chance.
The hard part it's getting the BC279 steel gray spray cans...
Really? Where in the world are you?
@@CycloneCyd Portugal
You've read my dirty mind. 😄
I'd already colour coded the front end (rub strips, grille and headlights), so time to do the sides.
@@CycloneCyd yes, I remember now.
No sanding before primer?
No. With a soft plastic like this sanding isn't so effective. It tends to tear at the surface
@@CycloneCyd cheers
there is no Sound on the video? :)
Check your device or computer. I am hearing it just fine.
I'm hearing it perfectly too. Check your settings
