Thanks for watching!!!
I’m so glad you agree about the kid characters in The Child Thief! ☺️ I’ve never read IT, but I am actually interested in Salem’s Lot now and the Martin vampire book. Also curious about Pet Cemetery and The Push! Great video!
Awesome! Thanks Johanna! It’s great that people are interested in Martin that is not about ASOIAF 🎉🥳🎉🥳
The Stand … Swan Song, The Wanderers.
The child thief & salems lot are being bumped up my TBR now.
Awesome! Let me know what you think! I think I’ve heard of Swan Song, but not The Wanderers
Loved this video! Funny enough, I am using it the other way around and might read the shining now 🤪
Yes! Lol works both ways I think
Wow Jake this was really helpful. Salem’s Lot is my favorite King book so far, so I’ll have to check out Fevre Dream. I do love Martin’s writing. I own The Child Thief, and hope to read it soon.
Yes!!! I love that people want to read more Martin! Thanks!
I would pair Pet Sematary with The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon. Saving the differences in the story plot, it does have similar vibes. They're are about grief and what people would be willing to do, no matter the consequences, when loosing a loved one. Both amazing books!
On the other hand I've heard people compare The Push with Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage. I've yet to see that for myself as the first one is still on my tbr. I hope to get to it soon!
Great video and recommendations! I'll be sure to check out the books I haven't read yet 📚😄
I might have to try out Winter People! And the Baby Teeth is much more entertaining than The Push, meaning, it’s more fun. The Push is way more depressing IMO. Thanks!
I was thinking about reading Imaginary friend needful things is my favorite book from king
Nice! Imaginary Friend is my favorite horror book (non King) Can’t Wait to hear you thoughts on it!
I always tell people if the love reading The Shining during cold winter months try The Terror by Dan Simmons. Although I think Simmons tends to get overly descriptive in his novels it works well in this one. Bitterly cold environment and isolation match up well between the two.
That makes perfect sense!
Interesting comparisons! If I end up loving Wonderland or The Push I might just have to go back and read some King? 😂
Possibly 👀 I’d love that of course! 😂
New sub here -- I'm a constant reader like yourself. Found you via Mike's Book Reviews and his chat with Andrew.
Was that opening drum piece Over the Mountain - Ozzy?
Welcome! And yeah! That’s one of my favorite drum intros! Thanks for noticing!! 😃
Dang...I have Fevre Dream now on my list for October. Also Wonderland.
What if I don't like Peter Pan? 😂
It’s a much darker Peter Pan, so maybe it’ll be cathartic for you 🤣 idk But YESSS! I’m excited for you to read Fevre Dream and Wonderland!!! Thanks Penny!
I remember liking Peter Pan...the story as a kid but I usually hate retellings. This I might give a try tho.
@@Thecatladybooknook_PennyD it goes more in depth about the lore I believe, which I found really interesting! It also subverts expectations with a lot of the characters
……ok I keep hearing about Brom
I’ve read two Brom now! Child Thief and Krampus. He’s great, great story, characters, the illustrations are cool. And they’re narrated by Kirby Heyborne! You can’t go wrong!
@@BookishDrummer oh I do like Kirby Heyborne….
