  • I've owned this BMW Z3 Track car for over two months, what have I been up to? Sorting out various issues like an illegal exhaust, replacing the low rent interior and installing a new steering wheel.
This Supercharged BMW Z3 is so engaging to drive, the BC Racing coilovers and semi slick racing tyres mean its a delight through the corners. It's turned this boulevard cruiser into a real drivers car.

Big thanks to my daughter for once again “volunteering” to be my camera person. I think she’s doing really well! 🎉

Drive the front wheels onto some blocks of wood and then you'll have more room to slide your jack underneath

I’ve got some ramps for the camper van but I don’t trust them enough to work underneath them. I need to get a proper solution from equipment4garages or similar as working under a car with jack stands stresses me out 😅

Thanks chap! I’m glad it didn’t explode 😂 made it all the way home too. My ears were ringing this morning though.

Just bought a hardtop recently for mine, you’ll be paying around a grand for the hardtop and mounts, which are a bit of a pain to fit properly, it’s definitely a 2 person job and takes a lot of taking it off and putting it back on again to fine tune the adjustment bolts so it fits nicely without rattling.

I’ve managed to install the mounts, now it’s just a case of waiting for the right hard top to appear.

add sport stubby radio antenna, change/raise rear view mirror so it doesn't block forward view, loose engine bay noise baffling from underside of hood(bonnet), delete clutch delay valve, look at Momo racing steering wheels, turn OFF traction control for track day, get Motul racing brake fluid which wont boil on track, add wheel spacers and raise chassis just a bit with coilovers, get AGM style battery, also it looks like someone added engine power before upgrading braking system, be careful with all that power, get stock seats for touring, easy swap...back to race seats for track day, cooling system is a weak link on all BMW, watch for overheating and leaks, Porsche is the enemy, they must be passed.....

I'll be taking it very easy with the speed as I want to make it home. Sadly stock seats aren't an option due to the way the roll cage has been installed. Cooling is certainly an area I want to focus on next - I've removed the engine bay sound deadening this afternoon to help with under bonnet temp. If I keep the car longer term I'm going to investigate a more vented bonnet + uprated radiators etc.
      Any recommendation for brake upgrades?

@@Project40Cars BMW E46 M3 brakes will bolt right up, so just get used calipers or aftermarket replacements, add new rotors and pads. consider opening the side hood vents which i think are faux
