    FYI most PCs and monitors run on 100-240 volt, so you may not need that step down converter at all. The PSUs should list the voltage range.

      OMG, you are so right! I just checked the labels and both can run off 240V, I had no idea...thank you, I just learned something today! : )

    Just wanted to say that I'm loving watching your videos! It's something I'd love to have a reason to build myself. So in the meantime, gonna have to live vicariously through you 😎😂

    Hello,
    Nice video again.
    Wen you air vent a cabinet the best way is by overpresure.
    One inled with fans and one fan less outlet
    This way you don't pull dust into de cabinet by other holes.
    When you blow air into the cabinet the most air will go out by the fan less exhaust. A small portion of the air will escape trough the otter small holes

    It's looking great! Very close now.
    Just so you're aware, the old E-stop that you had has stackable contacts. They just screw on top of each other so you can add quite a few extra poles as required.

      Thanks for the tip...I thought that might be the case, but didn't investigate it fully.

    Have you considered a cee plug and socket? They can supply 125A safely and would eliminate the need to use 3 plugs and sockets to run your laser. They also lock, which is something I like.

      Thanks, those look interesting, but I don't have a line that supplies enough amps for everything, mine are only 20 amps each...I'd need to hire an electrician to come rewire it for more amps.

    Well done Travis, The programming side of things look hard. Still trying to convince the wife i need to convert the plasma.👍

      It actually wasn't that bad, I simply followed the guides in the user manuals...it was nothing compared to the challenges of convincing your wife. I'm always happy to help answer questions on our Discourse forum if you need assistance, but strictly laser questions, I can't help with wives! : )

    OK, so you have conventional 3-phase power and at decent voltage (220-240) so infact, you can use it like you said or run three-phase into master PSU as I am guessing some of your systems will be on DC at one point or another.

    • @diyfiberlaser
      @diyfiberlaser  Місяць тому +1

      Maybe I forgot to mention, but I am using 240V single phase. Everything is DC except the AC servo drives.

    • @bentheguru4986
      @bentheguru4986 Місяць тому

      @@diyfiberlaser No, you did mention the 240VAC. I was just pointing out, if you can use the three-phase, smoother power delivery to laser and systems.

    15:30 - why dont you just lower the fiber a little? It has a minimum 10" bending radius and it looks like you've got plenty radius to spare. Excellent job overall!

    • @diyfiberlaser
      @diyfiberlaser  Місяць тому

      I tested it a bit lower and it reached ok, but it seemed to be putting some tension on it where it attaches to the head, so I ended up here to play it safe

    I assume this laser machine is primarily for cutting, but could the power be adjusted on the fly to do engravings if needed?

    • @diyfiberlaser
      @diyfiberlaser  Місяць тому

      Yes, but very low quality compared to a galvo head fiber laser

    Do you have parameter sheet for cutting with 1000W? I have been having troubles to cut with my fiber laser, if you have it... do you sell it? I have the raycus cutting parameters sheet but I can´t cut with those parameters

    • @diyfiberlaser
      @diyfiberlaser  Місяць тому

      I don't have a cutting parameters list yet, I've only cut one type of sheet so far...I did find that my settings eded up being different than that of the Raycus document. I was cutting 14 ga steel, I think they recommended about 9psi O2 and I used about 36psi for a nice cut with no slag.

    Why does it need a decryption code? Is it online only software?

    • @zaprodk
      @zaprodk Місяць тому +1

      Some perverted anti-piracy I think. The Chinese is smart enough to clone the boards and firmware in the chips, but if the firmware needs to be unlocked before use the factory can check the numbers that it's a unit they produced.

      @@zaprodk So it's a one off? I've read posts of people being locked out because the key lapses...then what? Rely on this company being around and contactable in the future? no thanks..

    • @diyfiberlaser
      @diyfiberlaser  Місяць тому

      @@3dkiwi920 I've read those also. I was told it was something that I only needed to once and it would work for the lifetime, but that does concern me also. I first contacted Max directly...they got back to me right away, but then asked me to have the seller decrypt. It is not online only software, nor does the source need an internet connection to run.
