When I first watched this, I popped off when the “Respect the pouch” commercials came on, I loved those commercials as a kid, & it was nice to see Doug talk about them.
Did you see the web cartoons? In those, they show the kids getting used to their curses and treating them like powers. If you like works that treat bizarre transformations like a good thing, they're kinda cute, if not a little cringy at times.
24:01 You know. That reminds me about the fact that Tamara in-universe was asked to work with the critic because she was crazy and the Critic thought that would bring in views. But in most skits she and Malcolm are scared or abused, meaning that that plot thread was left out.
31:55 It WAS Voice Over- ROB walker is doing the voice OFFSCREEN (you can see skeleton's mouth stop moving but Rob keeps talking. ROB then Dubs over The voice in Post Production! Funny how I seem to be one of the few that can always tell when it is Rob doing a voice instead of Doug. I know they can sound similar to one another, but not to the point I can't always tell them apart.
If you’re looking for another set of Nostalgia Critic videos I’d suggest the Terminator series he recently did. Since you haven’t seen any of them it should informative. Also a great way to see a series go from Great, to Godlike, to ok, to meh, to they tried, to finally decent.
Fun fact: sometimes, Critic will ask for suggestions involving the commercials. I'm the one(if not ONE of the ones) who suggested the aprisun Respect the Pouch ads.
"What do we do next?" Part of me wants you to see the old "rivalry" videos. Back in the day, Critic had a "rivalry" with another internet reviewer named The Angry Video Game Nerd. It's a pretty fun series of videos. Thankfully, from what I can find, someone was kind enough to upload the full series in one video on UA-cam. I just think it would be a fun revisiting, leading up to the "Climactic final battle." Edit: Just took the chance to rewatch it and...fair warning, it is so incredibly cheesy, but I find it fun.
"Have a cookie!" Yeah, that Wilkins Coffee twist at the end was a darkly funny payoff for this entire commercial special. I especially enjoyed your reaction to those Tickle deodorant ads. They were made back in the 1970s (before I was born) and I'm sure they were certainly meant to have sexual undertones. Also, I'm still amazed by how many references you didn't get! But that Monster Cookies ad was definitely both bizarre and entertaining. And if you want to see Nostalgia Critic cover more ads, you should check out his Top 11 Drug PSAs review from his early years---as well as his Halloween Special featuring Teddy Ruxpin. Very entertaining! Also, his reviews of Catwoman, Pearl Harbor, and Sleepwalkers are must-watches. On a side note, totally agree with your assessment on Nestle; from their controversial stances on water as a public right to using child labor for cocoa production, Nestle is definitely a poster child for corporate greed and rapacious capitalism.
9:10 That is Jim. He has his own Channel Awesome section "Jim Builds" where it shows him build stuff for channel Awesome. You may remember him from such Commercial skits as the "Hey Jerk" guy yelling at a family and putting them in Dyer situations. Jim was melted into Lava. He also reenacted RUFIO!'s death from Hook with Tamera with Toys during Nostalgia Critic's "Hook Toys Commercial" react
29:20 isekai train kun 29:30 frubes are tubes filled with yoghurt for ease of portability and lunchbox filling, they also had them in England. The ad as well lol.
@@matthewvulpe3302 Never saw that one. But now I know Christopher Lloyd is in it, I'll give it a look. A more well known ones though would be the angel in Angels in the outfield.
To Australias credit, the car disolves when the train comes. Unlike the Northern Ireland one, we don't actually see them get hit. Still I could imagine it freaking out kids. On a side note, those Capri Sun ads really brought me back! You should've seen the first one where the kid just blew up with his clothes falling from the sky.
I would suggest watching Nostalgia Critic's Disney Afternoon, Toonami, and Fox Kids reviews. The Disney Afternoon review features has Doug reviewing classic Disney cartoons that were part of a cartoon block on Disney Channel called Disney Afternoon. The Fox Kids review has him reviewing old cartoons that premiered on the cartoon block Fox Kids, and Toonami has him and his millennial friends reviewing the popular action cartoon and anime block from Cartoon Network, Toonami. And it's less popular cousin, Meguzi.
I'm forever scarred by that headon commercial, for some reason they used to play that commercial in the AM period when i was younger. it was so annoying and felt like it was in almost every single commercial break...
Just a Head's Up,every last Wednesday of November it appears a New Commercial Video on Nostalgia Critic, also please the Nostalgia Critic Review the Muppets Christmas Carol, you will Thank Me.
I remember when my grandmother used to say the He Man Money Supermarket adds were some of her most hated adds. She would just loudly groan whenever they pop up
I recommend the Nostalgia critic Phantom of the opera. Also their Moulin Rouge. Also their Les Miserable and they also did their own version of Let it go.
With head on the extended version commented on how it takes saying something 3 times for people to remember it. That’s why they constantly repeat themselves.

Duck seems to have realized early that children are monsters. These toys may satisfy their bloodlust for now... like a squeak toy for the dog, crying out in pain as it's chewed but parents think it's cute 'playing' P.S. 25:44 That commercial started when I was in High school, I only just forgot about it a couple years back... well the product has been dead for a decade maybe I'll forget about this commercial faster this time.
Huh. I thought it was a reference to "The Matrix Resurrections" movie that came out a month after this commercial special. It got a lot of hype. Btw, I really enjoyed the movie.
Actually the train one is pretty stupid. The first one could be avoided if she just back up. Same goes for the second on. Third one if you hear A train coming why are you playing on the rails for if you can hear a train coming at you? The forth one look she was just plan stupid for not noticing A loud ass train. Same goes for the fifth one you have all that to stop but you didn't, also where are the stop rails?
Actually, the second and fifth one are the same. Also, in the fourth one, basically, the lady stops for the first train, but wrongly assumes the tracks are clear after that, and thus gets hit by the second train.
For the millionth time, NO! There are at least TWO more. Top 11 Drug PSAs, and Top Cereal Mascots. Just cuz they don't use the word Commercial, doesn't mean they don't count. Charlie Adler (voice of Buster Bunny from Tiny Toon Adventures) was the voice of Hamburgular.

My favourite part about this is Doug thinking Money Supermarket is an actual supermarket chain 🤣
I think he may release a super bowl commercial special soon.
But yeah, I think the next ones should be Disney Afternoon, Fox Kids and Toonami.
If you want to see Tamara at her craziest, give his review of The Wicker Man a watch.

The train PSAs absolutely freaked me out as a kid, I was scared to go near the level crossings after that, and my sister often teased me about it.
