hello guys and gals in this video I will be setting up my fry tank for the coming season
also I make a quick cheap water butt filter with recycled bottle caps as media

pond dimensions 11f x 12ft 4ft deep
filters Diy wrighty style 4x barrel system
surface skimmer filtered through a sieve bag (will go to a diy sieve bakki shower at some point)
barrel 1 potting grit and gravel with a diy air flush
barrel 2 brushes mats filter foam and filter floss
barrel 3 k1 and other random plastic media moving bed
barrel 4 static alfagrog and white pumice

Nice upcycling! Loved it. That old solved pvc connector is really easy to take apart and reuse if you which. Just use heat and pliers. If you need I can make an instruction vid.

Be a great little fry setup that. Get some polystyrene sheets to I sate it. Cheap as chips. Also make sure you insulate the filter aswell. Give us an update when you get them fish in
Yes mate that sounds better polystyrene , yeah I'll insulate the filter I forgot to say I'm going to box that in aswell also I'll add a little roof to keep rain out

I have the same thing was going to put 25 litre k1 with strainer over the outlet do you think would work similar to eazypod for mechanical and biological? On a ibc

Great job buddy some great tips ,, run a pipe from your gas or oil boiler through tank with a valve to have it on when you want to keep it warm when you want from a plumber

@@progressivepondkeeping defo if I can put 2 pipes from you gas boiler out though the wall and onto 2 valves , than use qual-pex pipes than to run where ever you need cost barly anything cause your only heating the water thats in the pipe im a gas installer

I got it off eBay I think I paid about£40 for it and like 25 delivery

But I’ve got K1 media in mine, you can check mine out if you get time on Borden-Koi

what's PPing?
It's a pond treatment called potassium permanganate but it can also be used to sterilise old pond Media
drop a tap on the pipe from the pump mate stop the dirty water from siphoning in to the pond when the pumps off for cleaning

Would you know which adhesive would be suited to stick acrylic or polycarbonate to the ibc tank??
If it's on the outside the pond any mastic should do if it's a small piece super glue would do the trick
