Repentance is a turning, it doesn't include "of your sins" in it's definition. Even God is recorded as repenting. You haven't repented of and stopped all the sin in your life, I haven't stopped all sin in my life, and even Paul in Romans 7 writes about his struggles with sin and the old man vs the new man inside. But your work of stopping sin and living rightly instead has *zero* merit getting eternal life, because for getting saved it's NO works allowed.
Of course you should strive to stop sin, please God, and avoid his discipline in your life - but when it comes to salvation, it's repentance from what we were trusting in to save us, including trusting in our own works and efforts of stopping sin to save us, and instead trusting on Christ and the work *he* did to save us. Read Romans 4:1-8, Romans 11:5-6 and many others.
