My Vesterhav arrives tomorrow 03/04/24. Am so looking forward to this watch(I got the blue one!). Great company, very good customer service. Thus far a wonderful experience with them.
Woohoo 🥳 You're going to love it! Agreed, they're making excellent watches and provide just as good of a customer experience. Really easy company to recommend and support. I look forward to your thoughts!
This is the colourway that stands out the most and really makes sense of the design of the Vesterhav in my opinion. It actually made me think, at first, that the markers and hands have a slightly darker finish on them. If nothing else, it means that it has great contrast. I think you're rightly picking up on the fact that HA is really refining his concepts. The design language just gets a little better across the latest few watches, without essentially changing what is a 'house style'. Some earlier models deviated more from that, but the lineage between the Nordsø, Akva, and Vesterhav is very clear. This is great for the brand building, but it also causes that what made the original Nordsø so great, by now is essentially overshadowed a bit by the newer siblings. The comps you bring in are very helfpul in revealing this. From the side, I'd argue the Akva has the best balance in the 'sandwich layers'. I also thought the dark/sea green versio was perfectly judged in that line up. For those into tasteful sporty divers, I strongly recommend that. The Nordsø in comparison is a little more delicate and arguably graphically playful (depending on colour way), as in less overtly sporty to me. On this dressy sports Vesterhav I think the sportiness indeed is most emphasised. And this is, I think, why I stay on the fence on it. There is a clear lineage between the three mentioned models and I personally feel that I wouldn't need more than one watch in this house style. While the Vesterhav is a genre of watch better suited to me than dive style, I prefer my watches in that stainless steel sports watch category to lean dressy. As an aside, I was surprised that the Direnzo Mondial reads noticeably smaller than this.
Thanks for sharing your always detailed and thoughtful feedback 🥂 I too have really enjoyed watching the subtle refinements with each model, without losing the brand identity. I am inclined to agree that the Akva strikes the best profile balance, with its deeply tucked case back yet still thin case/bezel proportions. While I appreciate each model, the Akva and Vesterhav have become my favorites to date (taking nothing away from the originality or pleasantness of the Nordsø and others). Yeah, the Mondial is a bit deceiving to pin down. Some think it's too large and others too small. Cheers
@@JonathanTReviews a smaller mondial I may well have bought. Yet, in comparison to this, nonetheless, broad bezelled 40mm Vesterhav, it looks visually smaller. Typically it is the size for fit that concerns me more than the visual presence, though balance in the latter is key, also. In that respect, the Vesterhav hit the maximum dimensions I feel can remain comfortable for me. Only sharp downward inclinations, ideally lower than the case back level, may get away with extending the lug to lug beyond 47mm. Still, no substitute for actually trying it on.
Thanks so much! In case you haven't ordered yet, they're dropping like flies. Only 6 left of this version and the others are either sold out or close too. Cheers
One of the details that is supplied in the Henry Archer web site , under specifications of your model or colour is • Strap width. Fits wrists with sizes between 16 - 21,5 cm , this is information that is important if you have larger wrists . Most brands don't give you ( Fits wrists with sizes ) and I have purchased watches in the past that on receiving the watch the bracelet or strap is to small for my 20 cm wrist , which leads to having to find an after market bracelet or strap . I recently purchased a Bulova Luna Pilot with a strap , TO SMALL but when I tried to find a bracelet to fit ,needless to say I am still looking .This is something to consider when purchasing a watch . Top marks go to Henry Archer for supplying this information . We all don't have 6.5 to 7.5 wrists .
Great points. Thanks for bringing that up. Henry Archer includes more info (especially with the watch package, gloss over shown in the unboxing) than pretty much any other brand in my experience. The owner really cares about all aspects of his watches and the customer experience. They're doing so much right. Cheers
I just ordered the AQUILA blue on Saturday, so glad I did they have just sold out of the colour way. I’m really looking forward to getting on the wrist.
@@HamishCarpenter Yes, I already have a lot of blue watches and loved the pink/baby blue combo. Unfortunately I had to cancel the order and get a refund as there was an issue with pre order discounting and I felt the owner was disingenuous. I believe welcome discount is now available on pre orders (as it should be!) and it looks a lovely watch.
@@HamishCarpenter To give that some clarity, before ordering I asked why would I pay list on a pre order rather than wait for them to be stocked. He said to guarantee I get one, but he now allows discounts on pre orders so I paid £50 extra months ago for nothing!. My feeling that I should have waited was correct and I felt conned. It's not a special/limited edition, so guess it will be stocked for immediate delivery soon. DHL is a problem delivered to UK too as they add an admin fee to import charges that you have to pay. Watch would be about £100 more roughly.
Prost
Me too! It's unconventional in the best kind of way. Certainly not the same, but it reminds me of the delicate pink of the Spring from the Grand Seiko season collection.
I think you'll love it! It will look a bit different than that Direnzo Mondial I showed for comparison, but it should give a pretty good idea. They're both gorgeous. I look forward to your thoughts. Cheers
Great review. 10 extra points for showing it with a different strap. Question: Who makes that strap? You have links to other straps in your description, but not to this strap. It’s a combination of canvas and rubber. What’s the name? Thank you
Tough choice but you can't go wrong with either! Love both models. They're certainly different enough to support both in the collection, especially with the available options, if the budget allows. I'm not sure which I'd pick if I could only get one. Cheers
Getting back into watches and recently acquired a nice new Breitling Super Ocean. I’m searching for some nice daily’s as well and don’t want a half dozen 5k plus watches sitting around. These guys look great and after the video presentation I may take a chance on one and see how they are. Price point is great and they are certainly eye catching
Welcome back to the hobby! Henry Archer is definitely giving a lot of watch for the money. Great finishing that exceeds the price point IMO. If you like the style, I think you'd be pleased. Cheers
I loved the clean look with the Akva too (though others wanted a date on it), but this date is very cleanly incorporated. The cut framing and color matched wheel help it blend. Cheers
Well they didn't reinvent the wheel, except for it's vibrant colours it looks pretty conventional. But in the sum of its parts it's a nearly perfect sports watch for not a lot of money! 👏
Yeah, nothing too wild, just a lot of fine detail touches and great finishing. Like you said, pulling it all together, and combining it with an abundance of choices, it's a fantastic watch at a great price. Cheers
Always a bummer when they're not the exact configuration you want. I'm sure they have others in the works, including a new GMT launching in a couple days (though it has a fixed bezel as well). Cheers
Thanks buddy! Understandable. I'm pretty happy with the sizing on this one, being a bit more sport leaning, but would have enjoyed a touch smaller too.

The pink dial is beautiful, and I love how they tipped the second hand in pink as well. Great review my friend!
I love it too! I've long wanted to find the right pink dialed watch and this one is it for me! Thanks so much 🥂
Henry Archer has fabulous customer service, quick shipping with immediate tracking and watches that should cost twice what they sell for
Absolutely, they're doing so much right! Cheers
I can attest to this. Call and talked to the owner himself about the beads of rice band and he swapped out the trinity band for me. Incredible service
Awesome! Henrik is a great guy, which makes purchasing the already excellent watches an even easier decision. Cheers

Boy, it feels like pink is coming in hard this year, i think its pretty, especially with teal contrast. Great comparisons watchfriend!

From the year of purple to the year of pink! I don't expect to own as many pink watches as purple, but I'm loving this one! Thanks buddy 🥂

The markers and hands reminds me of my Zelos HamerHead without the cool HH case.

@@JonathanTReviews good to know. I also wish it was 38mm as that would suit my wrist better

Big watch
The case is 40mm, which works well for most wrists. Cheers

Small for many, perfect for most
Other pink watch? Barbie movie pass.....but cool, nice,i like
It won't be for everyone 😁 Fortunately, they have loads of other colors 🥂
Well... why is the bezel looking like the bottom of a cooking pot? Looks silly 👎
And the hands... unimaginative design...
I suppose they can't all be for everyone. Cheers
Yep - thats true 🤣
