Stop Dogs Barking For $20.00

- This video shows speakers that I made to train my neighbors dogs to stop barking. The whole set up costs under $20.00. Over a few weeks I have stopped the dogs from barking. I received a lot of thanks from my side neighbors on stopping the barking.
Laws need to be made MUCH stricter and then enforced so that neighbors don't have to go to war against neighbors. Nuisance noise like barking dogs and music should not extend beyond the property line. If government can't address this issue, why do we have government?
For real.
Keep making laws and eventually there are zero freedoms left. Be careful what you wish for.
@@LosAngelesPilot Normally I would agree with you.
How about this? No new noise laws, but allow me to pelt the barking dog with BB's.
omg i love you! i totally agree....i don't get what nuisance law is if they come out warn them once then a few days later they are back at it.
@@LosAngelesPilot We wouldn't need such laws if we didn't have people enforcing their "freedom" while taking away someone else's, right? People should have the freedom to not have to listen to a fucking dog barking for hours and hours. That's not exaggeration for many people who have lived in such situations for years. For myself, I've ended up in this situation at each of the last 4 residences I've moved to. Each of which, I scoped out prior to the move and each time the neighborhood became a menace of dog owners that just don't give a fuck.
My sympathies to anyone who puts up with insessent dog barking. I put up with dogs barking for over six years . . . not just occasional barking, but 24/7 at any time and for long durations. Cops were called, did nothing, so I called animal control, no help until I contacted city council and the dog controller's boss, who got on their case -- records were kept, animal control came out for a week and parked to listen -- then I and a neighbor went to court. This was first dealing with two pit bulls not far from my bedroom windows. I thought of doing window treatments to at least make my sleeping peaceful; however, being retired, I was a prisoner of these dogs in my own home . . . and you just get fed up with the lack of concern when the police drive by and the dogs, of course, do not cooperate as if “they know”. But the first time, I had a neighbor with school kids, who participated, and we both went to court. The dogs were a granddaughter's boyfriend's dogs -- the judge gave them three days or thirty days in jail -- the dogs were gone.
About three months -- same family, only this time a grandson bought two more pit bulls, and I went through the same things all over again . . . even had to point out to the cop that there was a noise ordinance, let alone the dog nuisance ordinance, so he finally went to the door. I listened, and all the cop did was sympathize with the grandson. Again, animal control, but little to no help. A different neighbor, who had to get up early to work, finally had had enough, and she found out the name of the renter -- I called her and she realized she was responsible and the sad thing is -- she could have stopped it long before in both cases, because it was in their rental agreement -- NO DOGS. She quickly agreed and the dogs were gone in three days.
With a number of months to a year, a NEW neighbor moved in unbeknownst to me as having FIVE (5) dogs, one of which was a border collie. Same thing all over again, cops, animal control, court (by myself), twice -- but this time, a basic slap on the wrist by what appeared to be an animal loving judge. I think she might have had to go to animal training, but she was saying in court that she “couldn't afford it” -- but consider the cost of animal feed -- FIVE DOGS, vet bills, etc., and not once in over six years did I see her walking the animals or hear much in the way of interacting with the dogs. She would not use a dog collar to train them and obviously did nothing else to stop them aside from putting up a tarp to stop them fromseeing through the fence . . . which did little to nothing to stop them barking. I did get a sound devise, that worked for a week or two and then must have stopped using it. Needless to say, I was furious. I did ask animal control about the legal use of the dog whistle, and her response, rather vague, but said she saw no problem “as long as you didn't blow directly in their ears!” Even animal control was annoyed when trying to notify her of a subpoena to court. The dogs CONTINUED to bark. The frustrating thing is that other neighbors will complain, but NOT get involved.
I took this man's advice, but instead of making speakers with the PVC, etc., I bought some piezo tweeters from Parts Express, along with two capacitors to stop low frequencies and a small resistor to protect the little amp from too much ohm overload. It does stop them, but you have to be consistent . . . I had even tried a dog whistle, which helped, but one gets tired of jumping up and down and gets puffed out blowing a whistle all the time, so the setup helps there also.
We have since then gained some more barking dogs in the neighborhood. City council won't help -- POLITICS, of course. But the dog whistles DO, so I have to remind them by simply turning it on for a few minutes if they seem to forget -- they do not like it.
Some neighbors may complain if you use a recording of the whistles if they are too audible and are heard by your neighbors . . . just use the one's that are less to not audible to human ears. One more thing: DO NOT get yourself into legal problems by doing anything to the dogs or the owners -- you do not want to jepordize yourself legally by doing so -- that is not worth it, although I do empathize, trust me, with your plight, and the thoughts do cross one's mind to get relief. IF you happen to have neighbors who will stand with you, it will make it easier to get the dogs removed; otherwise, it is hard for a single home to do so -- trust me, I know!
Mine just started 3 people have already complained in the complex its its first time in a an apartment I hope it's its last Ive lived at my place for 3 years with zero problem neighbours until now
russmaleartist I’m living through this now.. but it is only one dog one loud deep barking non stop from 10 to about 1 am sometimes later.. they never walk it of play with it just open the door and leave it in this mud filled back yard with no house, no toys, no blanket nothing so it sits on the back step BARKING NON STOP! We bought what we thought was our dream house and quickly realized one dog could ruin all the years you’ve save up and all the paper work we went though to get our home.. my kids now sleep with headphones in because they weren’t getting any sleep being woken up over and over takes a toll on you. I’ve called animal control, I’ve called police, I’ve posted on fo and all I get is “oh that poor dog” poor dog? How about the poor humans ! We bought a dog barking house gadget and it didn’t work ..I’ve read that the dum er the dog the less chance it will work and this is definitely a dumb dog. We are now talking about selling our house because it’s becoming to the point where I’m so frustrated I’m snapping and grouchy from not sleeping kids grades have gone down from no sleep... it’s sad how selfish people that don’t get a dog because they love it can ruin others lives!
Wow you really went through it. I got one of the dog whistle cellphone apps and am about to try putting it on the megaphone.
My guess is that the noise will only work when the dog knows his bark is going to have repercussions. So you have to time the whistle with the bark. Is that true?
A lot of the dog bark devices I've seen stop working after a while. I could tell by measuring the output with an ocilliscope. It puts out a ~ 40MHz square wave when working or else nothing.
I also got a piezo speaker, and an amp but need a little help making a circuit out of it. I'm not sure what value resistor will protect the piezo and if it should be in series or parallel to the piezo.. and the capacitor etc.
@@jacquiemcevoy4509 I'm thinking about printing out some of these comments and mailing them to my neighbors.. so they can see what people are saying about them.
Russ, can I confirm you made Leonards device and it worked? I just want to know if there's a much stronger version of the device which works with a vengeance?
I love old timers like this
He is so cool. Reminded me of my Grandpa in his shop!
yup, be careful if you piss an old person off they have many ways to get even! 👍😁
The funny part is, soon some young guy will be saying the same about you.
Really relaxing watching them talk and work.
Thank you. We have had our summers on our deck ruined for 10 years now by inconsiderate neighbors with a barking dog.
My heart goes out to you so sorry my love.know how you feel really do as dont sit outsde anymore in summer only quiet when it rains god bless you😉
man i wish there was still alot of old timers like you still around. a do it yourself handyman who is logical. i tried going on a dog forum for the specific breed of dog whose bothering me and was attacked by unlogical dog owners. every faults me for being the bad one for wanting to stop the barking dogs yet none of them have to live by it
We had to take 2 windows out of the back of our house because of our piece-of-garbage neighbors and their neglected, abused dog. I hate people.
Ditto
Yup...animals(most)are cool...people suck balls
I'm getting my house insulated next week and am getting my windows replaced after that. If that doesn't help I'll be consulting dr Benadryl
@Chris Russell I've asked around and offered a grand to anyone that would make it go away! Sure I'll give you the address. XD
@Jacquan Brown No he speaks like someone tired of bullshit and shitty neighbors, millions of people in his camp, BTW its Psychopath not psychopathic, lol
I so like your satisfied way of going through this 🤣
I'm sorry, I've started hating dogs because of constant noise, day and night. Love it, thank you for sharing. I hope you are well 👍
Me too, I used to have dogs when I was a kid, but now I'm also developing a real hate to them because of horrible neighbors that can't control them and don't even notice how anoying their dogs are for the neighborhood.
Don't the dogs, hate the shitty owners
All 3 of my dogs were sitting around tilting their heads as he played the different whistles. Ha ha. I also live in a neighborhood where people don’t seem to care if their dogs are barking all day and all night. I don’t understand why this is okay with so many people, I can’t even stand it when my own dogs bark.
Exactly. Neighbors that have dogs that occasionally bark are never an issue for people who get in these situations. It is like you say, that relentless barking usually because of dog owners who typically (at least in my experience of trying to politely address such with them) just really don't care who their dog's barking affects.
It is strange. Every neighborhood seems to have 1 or 2 of these a-holes that simply DO NOT CARE about the immense suffering they are causing to their neighbors.
Who cares about humane? Should I have to put up with neighbors barking dogs at 2 am for years or them crapping on my lawn? Nope. All is fair if owners don't train them.
NOISE WARZ!!
Nothing worse than rowdy and/or disobedient dogs. Fuck 'em all.
fuck your cats.
MrRatkilr It isn't the dogs fault owners don't train them.
MrRatkilr get a slingshot and some m80s...i have the quietest neighborhood ever. Dogs freak out...or owners put dogs inside because they think they are being shot at.
If you cant get good firecrackers in your state...TRAVEL. its worth it and they last for years.
I lived next to a barking dog for 7 years. I moved out 9 years ago, and I recently found out I have PTSD to this day that gets triggered everytime a high pitched dog barks. I had anxiety attacks randomly and went to a psychologist, who refered me to a hearing specialist who, after 4 appointments and many tests, confirmed it was PTSD from the dog barking all those years ago. I didn't think that was a thing, but apparently it is. So if you think you may have experienced that, you're not going crazy.
You are not alone.
@@BigEsGarage i have it to. i lived in a bad area where i heard subwoofers ALL day. and gunshots. my mom still lives there and when i go to visit her i go into a major panic attack in about 5 minutes and cant visit my own mom. i use to live 3 doors down from her and had to move because people were having 100+ people parties. on top of that, our dog was mauled and ripped open by a pitbull
i sold everything i had and moved. i moved to a village that had virtually no crime in its census. i been here a year an going to a psychiatrist for my ptsd from the previous area. and then a month ago it happened....new neighbors moved here from out of state and put a pen in their backyard facing my house. leaving their dogs in there 12 hours a day. about 2 months ago i got a bad infection. my body doesnt agree with antibiotics but ive been forced to take 2 diff kinds to kill the infection over the past few months. i throwup and am nautious the entire day. i called the dog warden of the county and they couldnt do anything but ask the people to stop, they had no jurisdiction inmy village. my village is so small we dont have cops, just a mayor. i called him and he never called back. i called city hall and they said "you moved into a farm area, dogs bark". that was their answer. this dog barks from 7am to 7pm. every single home in this area has 1-3 dogs that are all trained. this is the only nuisance dog. finally i decided to confront the neighbor, politely. i took 6, yes 6 anxiety pills to calm me and sedate me enough to calmly go and have a polite conversation. i brought my medical papers and pics of my dog that was attacked. i rang the doorbell and politely said can i talk to you about your dog? she responded WHAT ABOUT MY DOG!!!!! i knew this was going to happen, but i figured i had to do it if im going to go to court is at least say i tried. i offered to buy a section of a fence etc. and she wanted to rip my head off. i explained my medical conditions and she was the most unsympethetic person i ever talked to saying that has nothing to do with me or my dog. thats where i decided to walk off. now im researching courts but it really dont seem like ill have much luck. i just bough this home 8 months ago. i already hate it. it was my dream home and its become something i despise now. im ready to put it on the market instead of living with even more ptsd then i already have
I believe you . I have anxiety from the neighbors
@@crimwilI'm sorry. I'm in tears right now suffering from dog barking anxiety with PTSD from 4 yrs of loud jolting dog barks daily.
I want to move but can't.
Barking dog will make the most pleasant person go postal. I am very easy going but my neighbor dogs is turning me into Chucky like in the movie.
Fascinating.
You multitask.
You're training someone else's dog and the owner.
I LOVE YOUR INGENUITY! I tried the dog whistle and I tried the bark box that goes off with a noise every time a dog barks. That worked on 1 dog only & not the main offender.. 5 yrs later I still can’t go out my back yard without that crap assed mountain dog husky mix barking at MY BREATHING or waking or just being there & pretty much anything I do! I’m going to have to look into legal or moderator. I can’t move YET. I’d say if I were to put a monetary value the dog owners they would owe me $12,,000 a year that’s 6 yrs now I’ve put up with it.
I am "that neighbor" with the barking dogs. I hate it when my dogs bark because I know it annoys the neighbors and needed solutions. Thanks for the tips!
It's easy to fix dog barking. Train them, when they start. You start the commands until the learn. If there is relapses you repeat the training. If the dog resist and ignore your command, put him in your bedroom for 30 or 60minutes, and then bring him back, if he barks again, correct him, if he insists, put him back to a room. Another method: the mouth device, your turn on, when he barks, he will shut up, and then he will learn gradually and won't need anymore to turn on the button, you just pretend it's on, keep using it even if it's off to make sure the dog won't get relapse. It's just like using those device vibration for pain, massage zzzzzzzzz. It benefits everybody and you live anywhere with no problems.
It's so easy to train a dog to have good manners. There different methods: The Petco training included diploma graduation for good manners $100 to 200 training fee. Or put anti bark collar that will be less necessary gradually, you end up putting the collar without turning on because the dog already knows if he barks, something will happen, and then you don't need anymore the collar. And repeat the methods if there is relapse. Or the owner should train the dog, when barks: No! if he responds well, then compliments and treat. Has to be consistent the training over and over.
take them for walks, otherwise, keep em indoors, or move out to bumf@ck w/no neighbors
Put shock collars on them and give your neighbors the remotes to control the collars.
I just made this unit and it functions as in the video. I haven't tried it on our area dogs yet but the fundamental problem is, this unit is limited to 20khz and many people can hear at that level. When I turn mine on my wife starts to complain. This is a fun project but not really what we're all looking for. The problem here is getting an ultrasonic unit that has enough power. All those cheap handheld units and those yard units are way too wimpy. Some day some wise person is going to market a super powerful high frequency (above human hearing range) device that can be heard for a mile or more. If such a unit can be produced at a reasonable price, that seller will make a ton of money once the word gets around. This is what everyone wants and so far nobody is doing it.
+Aquatic Spirits UPDATE: I finally got a chance to try this unit. I found all those "silent" dog whistles offered online can be heard by humans. They're not true ultrasonic. I didn't have a barking dog problem. My problem is keeping a neighbor's aggressive dog from constantly attempting to attack us in our own yard. I've talked to him about it but nothing is done. So I tried this unit hoping it would keep that dog out of our yard. So far it hasn't worked. And if I turn the volume up the "silent" dog sound is clearly heard by most people. I've since been told that the proper way to go is to order the KEMO Ultrasonic Signal Generator (sold on Amazon.com). One needs the proper speakers for it which are also sold on Amazon. So, I'll try that next.
+Aquatic Spirits Hi there, could you please let us know how you get on with the KEMO Ultrasonic Signal Generator if you decide to try it out? That would be really appreciated :) Thanks! I'm having a problem with barking dogs in the neighbourhood and it's driving me nuts so perhaps this could be something promising.
+fro0tyl0opy87 I've also just found this review for your interest:
I wasnt expecting anything this powerful. When supplied with 12vdc and a piezo tweeter, this little module puts out an oscillating tone that is adjustable via a tiny pot on it's surface. From earsplitting to dog-earsplitting (10khz to 40khz). No volume control, however...and no screw terminals, just short wire leads....but well worth the money!
Can't seem to find anything on distance/ range though. I could do with something perhaps betweeen 50 to 100 feet, but perhaps I'll have to keep dreaming?
+fro0tyl0opy87 I'll try to remember to post my results here once I try the unit. I have the generator and am waiting for the speakers. There are videos about this unit. You can add an amp but this requires some electrical knowledge to keep the amp from burning out.
Aquatic Spirits okay thanks - if you reply to this message then I should get a notification pop up. Good luck!
Thank you Leonard for taking the time. Well done!!
can this guy please be my grandpa?
You got Werther's Originals?
Thank you, sir, for posting this. You have helped many, including me.
I live in Costa Rica, and people here regard the sound of barking dogs as if it were birds chirping...it's the only real drawback about this country.
Other than that, it's great here.
:)

Mr.leonard thank you such a pleasure watching and learning how to make such a good method to help with annoying neighbor's pet.you saved me from doing something I didn't want to do.really great step by step how to video.
Good for you Leonard. Nice job.
Dogs barking causes more neighborhood friction than anything
I was standing in my yard blowing the dog whistle and it works.
I just got a whistle and it didn't seem to work, maybe I was using it wrong or expecting too much?
I admire your spirit, ingenuity and handiness. I lack the handiness part. We made our final move away from subdivisions into a nice rural residential area on a four acre lot. The house next door sold to the nicest family -- who became hostile within 60 days, trespassing, walking back and forth along the front and sides of our home. So we had a survey and emplaced some fence posts so as not to restrict the deer's mobility but hoping the neighbors would see the property line and honor it. So the new wonderful neighbors bought a German Shepherd and since they don't have to go to work they walk and train that dog all day long every single day. They installed an invisible fence right up against our fence posts and now they walk it all day long. If we go anywhere near that side of our 4 acre property, the dog aggressively shadows us following u back and forth, barking and growling with human owners in tow, saying nothing. Except occasionally, "gee you're lucky we have an invisible fence!" I cant have something like this device Leonard made because they'd see me emplacing it, or see it in one of my trees and I couldn't really power it or connect it from the house 100 plus feet away. And we have a 400 foot property boundary. But I do wish I could have something like this. These neighbors would escalate somehow. They even send their little girl out with the dog to the far back corner of their property to stare at my husband while the dog barks at him. He feels so awkward. Then the husband comes running out like he was doing something wrong. Lord help us.
Glad I came across this. I currently have a next door neighbours who have 3 dogs that bark at EVRYthing. I will definitely be making one of these.
I am wondering why he didn't mount the speakers in the bottom of the pipes before gluing them in place, though.
Thank you so much for your idea. My neighbors don't care about their dogs barking all day. Because they never at their home. And my grass is all cover from their dogs shit
Nick silva: Now THAT I don't put up with. You've got every to right lay mole/ vole poison in your yard . You can tell them to their face. If they can't/ won't keep their shitty curs from trespassing + vandalizing your property, ....it's not your problem
Not fair! Not right.
That's bullshit.
Feed them ex-lax so they shit while they are inside the owners house
The yappy dog my neighbor's got about a month ago isn't even a bark. It's a high-pitched shriek. They have random holes at the bottom of their block wall and it shrieks and yelps at everything it sees. I'm trying to get enough courage to go talk to them. It absolutely astounds me how people can just let their dog do that to the entire neighborhood. I see their actions as extremely aggressive.
same situation here at mexico
@@itoKEKE I got up enough courage to talk to them this morning. I gave them an expensive bark collar I'm not using and talked to them about blocking the holes. I was nervous, but it's been 4 hours now and no barking. I'm not used to this quiet.
Yes they are actually worse than normal barking.
. Feel for you, not fun stuff at all
@@scottylans I posted that 4 months ago and things are better. Yes I talked with them but it was more a verbal fight. He is nuts! He told me he it is "his world" and he going to do "whatever the hell he wants to do." Anyway the dog is older now, doesn't bark as much and doesn't bark at me anymore because it knows me. But it's still a yapper from time to time when others go by. It was 5 months of misery, but it actually got better. I just don't talk to them at all. Some people just don't care, so be careful if you try to confront them!
We tried animal control. Cops. All useless. Tried an ultrasonic unit that I had to set off whenever I heard the dog bark. Tried another unit that was audible to humans that beeped whenever it heard loud noises over the fence. That worked a little as it distracted the dog, but he kept barking all day long from boredom and anything else he saw or heard. We finally had to take our asshole neighbors to small claims court. That proved fruitless as the judge was a good ole' boy who obviously didn't think it was bad even though we had a neighbor's bark log along with our own and recordings.
We finally moved. Problem solved.
That is actually a good idea. Seeing as the judges favor the dogs, take the owner to court for neglect and have the dog put in a foster home. They can always have visiting rights at the weekend.
I feel your pain. I have moved because of dogs and now again- new inconsiderate neighbor that doesn't care. Absolutely no help for those that just want to enjoy peace and quiet- Uncivilized neighbors and dogs seem to have priority. Anyone know how I can get this device that Leonard describes made? I'll try anything. -except poisoning. Annoy the dog to stop barking is all I ask for. Why has this problem become so difficult for millions?
l\ use kindness. Yell at them...give them a cheap marrow bone...tell them shut up...then throw a lil firecracker. Tell them shut up again & give them a bone.
They will listen. They are smart animals.
See reply above, July 2 2018. I'll tell you something, I busted my ass for 20 years making a home in the country...I will not be forced out. very sorry you had to leave bc of that.
Yeah so you tried everything legal to stop it but if you snapped, taking matters in your hands and poisoned/killed the dog then you know for sure that you'd be sitting in jail with a big fine on you.
Pocket airhorn and a ziptie.
Zip and throw into neighbors yard.
🤣😂😆 🤜🤛
Nice but smear dog shit on it too
I used a loud air horn a few times. REALLY loud. It did shut the dog up. But the owners called the police because their "autistic" child was annoyed by the sound. REALLY? And junior is NOT annoyed by the sound of a dog barking its ass off all day? Total assholes. Inconsiderate assholes. Dog-free neighborhoods need to be set up in every American city and town. Just like the old smoking and non-smoking sections in businesses. At some point, non-dog-owners are going to reach their breaking point and legislation will be enacted against barking dogs. Until then... we all suffer at the hands of dumb shits who "blow smoke in our faces," laugh, and say, "What??? You don't like that?"
Nice one good idea
Oh my god i just died. I think i might docthis anyways after i buy the shut the fuck up device
love this guys attitude . he"s like well thats it and i dont get a shyt if do or dont but enjoy.
should be more of him around
I appreciate you making the video and sharing it with us. I was able to get a good idea of what you made but much of what you were doing was hard to see and understand what you were doing. Thank you for taking the time to put this on UA-cam.
did you ever build one of these? could I buy one from you?
record the barking and play it at all hours outside at extreme volumes.then blame the owner of the dog.
Fantastic idea mate
I placed my speakers out the widow facing my neighbors loaded up muslim music then take off for the day thay moved with in 2 weeks lol
@@MrRATMAN250 lol
Instead of very high frequency speakers that annoy the dog(s), what about very powerful, very low frequency speaker(s) to drive your neighbor nuts every time his/her dog(s) bark?
That is a good one indeed, but I am afraid in my case the people would never hear it over the dogs barking.
It wouldn't cost $20, not even $200. It takes a lot more power to amplify low feq sound
small air horns seem to work on some dogs. when all else fails. buy a air powered train horn. that will get their attention.
the best way the get neighbors dogs from barking is to get the dog owners involved .
Most owners of loud dogs are more annoying and uncooperative then the dog itself.
Nunya Biznis neighbors with barking dogs and do nothing about it are so inconsiderate.
Nice and simple! I need to put one of these together for my neighbor's pack of chihuahua dogs.
My dog was lying nearby when you played the tones. It sure got a reaction!
My left ear enjoyed this.
Can someone post a parts list? This is golden.
I have a few dogs to train in my neighborhood.
Nice video but a classic case of putting the camera at exactly the wrong place, use the outside light in your favor, place camera near the windows pointing inwards.
A 22 rifle works pretty good.
+killopkie Taking a dog for a walk will keep them quiet.

darthspeaks I hope some does it to you! What the Fuck did a none human animal did to you??? Nothing!
+darthspeaks maybe a chihuahua. Doubt you would try that with a Pit Bull or Rottweiler 😂😂
This video actually made my dog bark when the sounds were playing out of my laptop lol.
I'm just looking for a solution. It seems like everyone in my neighborhood thinks they need to have 10 dogs. I can't walk my dog down the road in peace without her freaking out at barking dogs and she will pull me towards them. Yes it may be a training issue but wouldn't you freak out over 5 different dogs barking and clawing at a fence trying to get at you if you were a dog?
yo'dear Leonard
I think this product of yours could be the ultimate solution for the most unbearable pain in the butt neighbors like the ones I have...the problem is that my electronic skills are beyond limited and so is my time..I'll just ask this straight, is there any way I could buy this "dogs silencer" from you directly? do you have an ebay account where I could get this product from???
I'll gladly pay for the product if it works as well as you described it...hey, I hope I could buy this from ya'
Cheers, Tony.
I love old timers like this,my neighbor across the street is one of those Clint Eastwood types, 6'5 and a very imposing demeanor, we get along great,i would do anything for him and him for me,great people,i gotta mention hes a Vietnam vet and hes like 80, about 2 weeks ago this moron next to my house had the boom boom boom going on in his car, i had my earphones on cause i was watching a movie like i always do but i heard this commotion, i looked thru the peephole and i got to see the tail end of it, ole Carl came out and said "TURN THAT SHIT OFF!!!" thats all it took,i opened my door, gave him a thumbs up, said thanks and close the door back up.lol
I solved my neighbors barking dogs problem. But it cost me $500 bucks. And 2 months in jail. Totaly worth it. Problem is. They got two new dogs. Second offence is going to be very costly
+sgtkrazykramer: How did they catch you?
Do tell Sergeant...
what happened?
LOL, excellent solution
Everyone hears the dog bark but the fucking owner.
“A hold dandy rubber band.” I like it!
People are obsessed & idolize their dogs, very frustrating. Their dogs can literally do no wrong, they could even bite you & the owner would say 'oh look how cute fluffy tore your calf open as a way of giving you kisses' THESE PEOPLE ARE INSANE !
You could have drilled and installed the speakers before glueing the tubes to the base. MUCH EASIER!
Consult attorney: usually, there are laws against barking dogs, annoyances, etc. You will get money back after suing neighbors if they do not stop: lien against their house, etc. There are famous cases in Oregon: $300000 court judgment against owners of barking dogs, and judge ordered to surgically debark the dogs.
Record the dog barking, then return it through loudspeakers at the dog owner's house until they take the constant barker inside. No more complaints. If it barks all day long inside their house, they will soon get the dog gone. See it outside during the day, just turn it's amplified barking back at it until they take it back inside, so they can't ignore it. Do not break noise ordinance laws by using it before 8 am or after 10 pm.
Bravo, my brother!! Well done!
Mr. Muniak is a perfect example of what I've been saying for years...which is...listen to the older generation. They have so much knowledge to share if only people will lend an ear. If Mr. Muniak were my neighbor, I would be over at his house every day just to learn from this man. He has so much knowledge to offer and I'll bet some fascinating stories to share, as well. Thank you for sharing, sir. I plan to put your plan to use this weekend.
Damn. I can hear all of them. I'm gonna try this set up anyway! I will add a timer so if barking continues it comes on. thanks
Thanks for the great step-by-step tutorial. One question--Have the dog owners heard this coming from your property and if so, how did the conversation about it go? We are so done with trying to reason with the human neighbors, we are now concentrating on training their dogs for them with either this or a dog whistle. Why is it that the owners of these non-stop-barking dogs are not annoyed by the barking as much as we are? Went over and talked to one of them once about loud music and he tried to follow me home to see EXACTLY where I lived. Won't do that again.
+Casey Mizokami Dog whistle connected to an aquarium pump with some clear tubing.....plug in the pump and watch the chaos ensue......
@@69CamaroSS Do the neighbors hear that or only the dog?
Nice job mate,, thanks heaps for your upload..
That people have to go through so much and expense just to get some lousy neighbours dog to stop barking.
Amazing how many people don't give a toss about their nuisance dogs
This guy is my fucking hero. A genius.
I just hit panic button on key ring...every bark...lol
THX for the video, could you please list all the items needed and the specifications?
Excellent!!! Thank you Sir for posting this.
Thank you BOSS blessed are you for sharing this video!
I think you should write a manual about this. It would also be nice to see a demo of it working.
@leonard muniak is this working ?
HOW INGENIOUS IS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He made his own clacker!!!! I got mine from Amazon but his is the delux model. Hey, constant mutt noise is obnoxious.
Thank you for this video sir. You are my hero. Thank you thank you.
Clever silver Fox, love it. I have the same problem. Tried to buy one on line no luck. My problem is the dogs I have to deal with live about 30-50 ft across the street. 2-4 full grown German Shepherds. He is running a puppy farm. Pisses me off. Up all night.
A dog will stop barking if you squirt him with vinegar. Zep makes a good spray bottle that's good for 20'.
Please demonstrate this on yourself.
can't do this if they're physically too far away or if you can't figure out where it's coming from in a large complex
but...without getting in trouble :p this area has tons of popos
Dog owners are the most inconsiderate people on the face of the earth. Most of them don't give a dam how annoying their barking dogs are. Throw some meatballs laced with poison at the dogs. That should stop them barking in no time.
You aren't worth the chemicals that make up your pathetic body.
Cool setup thanks! Will you post a link where you download the whistle sounds from?
I did the same thing! The mutt realizes that barking equals CLACKING. I made that up (clacker, clacking) the mutt only needs to see you and it runs and stops blabbing.
So many people suggest talking to the neighbors? One neighborhood: I was stalked for over a year by neighbor after filing a report; police do nothing. Finally moved. Now Another neighborhood: Neighbor won't talk to me,; called police about my options - can't do anything. So Neighbor filed complaint to police with false accusations against me. Lots of really looney uncivilized neighbors out in the world. Give me this device - I need it. To heck with trying to be nice anymore. Done with it. Uncivilized, irresponsible people and their stupid barking untrained dogs. Someone make me this device!
A lot people here below suffering with the crazy barkings. Try this: record the sound of the bang snaps, then play it back.
Just went to court today regarding barking hound...waste of time.
Let me guess, you lost? :(
No links to amp, player, speakers, or sound sources. Would have been very nice if you had added details.
Very good, leading the behavior in a right way instead of trying to underpress it! I also work with this method :)
Strychnine meatballs. A wiseguy I knew back in the day showed me how to make 'em. Intended for human consumption but I imagine it works on dogs as well...
This was a fun video. Unfortunately Leonard's hearing does seem to be very shot. I could hear every single one of those sounds he played via the low quality video posted to YT with my computer volume low.
Your a great man and innovator. Thank you for this video.
two neighbor's dogs driving me nuts!
The little birdhouse type ultrasonic unit worked for the young pup. The older dog apparently can't hear the sound. Can you provide a parts list for the amplifier and transducer? I need to get something real soon.
thanks!
I tried your system but only used two speakers and plugged the amp into my computer while downloading dog whistles. It stops them completely when it reaches 16000 hertz! cost about $30 but will worth it. Thanks for the idea.
I think if you could generate an over 25kHz high power sound, any dog should shut up, our noise range only extends to 20kHz, after that the dog is still listening and is annoying, so the more power put into this frequency it theoretically should work. Note: There really should he a strike system for dogs, after 3 strikes the dog is taken away from the owner. My two neighbors dogs are driving me crazy.
Did I miss it, what kind of amp ? Thanks
What are the brand names of the the components & speakers U use? I could Not download it. Thanks!
i wish i can order one from you
Wonderful video; thanks for the info; a suggestion on making future videos: instead of the camera pointed from the inside of your workshop towards you and the outside of the building; take the camera outside and point it in to the workshop; there will be less shadows and things will look better.
Will this set-up work on a dog that lives about 500 feet away. We have a dog across the street 2 house down. He's a Rott and he barks at everything, even at the wind when it blows.
+Curt8153 My understanding is you'd need a much much larger system to defeat a dog like this. I'm trying to weigh up what to do about one, around 150 - 200 feet away (50+ metres) and behind some trees / fence. Small yappy dog though. You sure it's actually 500 feet?
If ANYONE builds something strong enough to do 200 feet, definitively, please post the video
Yes, I'm way off on that. It's more like 150 feet. Just across an alley and two house down.
That's why you need the amp
Dish filled with antifreeze is cheap just remember to attach a string to the dish after the dog has licked it clean so you can retrieve it. wait a few days problems solved.
I like what you've done there.
Thank you, very nice set up!
Pipe bomb grandpa rocks!
Ok this woke my cat up and started an investigation on what in sam hill that noise was. He's looking at me, very concerned.
Guys, also try the dust blower, when they start, you start using the dust blower in high volume. I think the best is recording a bang snap and play back. Give respect, get respect.
You're a champ! I'd love to see a video of those speakers in action. haha!
I would love to build one with some serious power.
I live in the country, where everyone moves in, gets the biggest dog they can get, then become totally deaf. They also let their dogs run, as everyone loves their dog.
I need something that will go at least 100 yards.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Bless your sweet, inventive soul!
Thrilled to find your video. 3+ years I've been dealing with horrid, irresponsible, unapproachable neighbors. I live in an upscale area, was stunned by their responses to my kind approach, was even bearing gifts to help soften tension. Hillbillies asking me to squeal like a pig would make better neighbors.
Few things I would love for you to clarify as I am not electronically savvy:
What kind of amp did you get?
Would you please clarify how to wire the speakers to power?
I believe that you wired them into the male 3 prong plug, but it wasn't shown and I'm challenged by the neutral, ground, left, right identifications.
I'm confused about the amp, where it is located within the chain.
Is the amp kept inside your home for easy access to zap the dogs?
As far as I can tell from watching your video multiple times, it goes
speakers to male 3 prong
3 prong to extension cord
and I am lost as to where the amp is
and how the amp is connected
A simple, easy to read for the novice schematic would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know how to message you privately to provide my email, so I'll post my public/spam email here so that you can reach out:

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Am curious to hear the results on barking dogs from others.
hey man did you ever create on of these and was it effective? I ask because the sounds were audible to me and I don't want to the neighbors to find out...
@@apersonontheinternet595 you could buy a power switch that is remote controlled, then when you hear them barking just use the remote to turn the sound on for a bit. then turn off when they stop. eventually they will associate bad sounds when they bark and should stop after a while.
Hello, looks better than the commercially available products. Can I ask you, how did you power he 12 V amplifier? Thanks, Tom
I watched a few tube videos from spaceman. He's got some good info on the subject about barking flea factories. Oops. I mean dogs.
I built a sound cannon from some of the information I learned from his channel. A powerful one! When they start barking. I fire it up. All goes quiet now. They even cower under ther deck when it cranked up. I only use it when I'm trying to sleep
how did you make it? what was the range?
What’s the max effective range? I’m at the end of my rope with 2 barkers in house behind ours. Animal Control can’t/won’t help. Thanks
Great Proyect! Thanks!!
There is one video somewhere where the neighbor recorded all craziness and played back to the offender neighbor, and offender called the police, and the police cracked up and was on neighbor victim side.
About to place my order for one of these. Sad when I have to spend $100 of my family's money due to my neighbors carelessness. They let out their dog numerous times throughout the night and it just barks all night long. I will have finally got to sleep and be jolted awake by it. I mentioned it to them and they said oh I think he thinks there's a dog down the hill, haha. No BS either way do you not know your dog is keeping everyone awake!!?? I mean just because you're retired doesn't mean all of us are. The law needs to do something about this It's BS.
did you ever order one or build one?
This project looks very nice. Is there a parts list the author or anyone could post?
Will this bother cats? My neighbors don't care about their dogs barking.
can you show a video of it working on the dogs
I would make a noise to train the neighbors...lol
Mark D Thank you Mark. I feel the same way. Most dogs go better in light brown gravy to begin with. It's not the dogs fault. It's the owner but... A small piece dipped in lye. The dogs' appetite takes care of the rest.
I would like to blast classical music at my loud neighbors.
I just built this and it does seem to work real well with a single piezo. The only thing is when I turn the device on it first emits an audible sound as if it's working down to the subsonic frequency. Within less than a second it goes subsonic. Is there a way to prevent this ramp up process?
hey man have you figured out how to solve that problem. Could I possibly buy one from you as I am not a tech guy...
