I still believe that Suga and RM are on different levels nowadays when it comes to their solo songs especially Suga. It's not just their talents and songwriting that I really respect, but also they stayed down-to-earth and just keep on working without comparing their success to other artists and just let the audience decide. It's a shame when you put yourself in a higher position when others think of you in a different way. 🇵🇭
Suga, RM, and JHope have brought so many fans into Korean music. Suga is the reason I went down the BTS rabbit hole and then became a rapline fan. Their lurics, messaging, concepts are art meets content! Suga’s lyrics (Polar Night, Snooze, Huh) are so underrated-absolute genius!
P.D. Snooze es el réquiem de Suga.
Snooze makes me tear up within seconds. Rarely a song can do that to me. At first I couldn’t relate to the lyrics - but then when I got it I started bawling every time. Suga wanting to be a rock for those who come after him / his juniors is so warm heartening to me. Who did that ever? He’s The personification of „be the change you want to see in the world „
I am a 60 year old ARMY. I live in NY. Worked in NYC subways for 20 years. I am a true OG hip hop/rap fan. I saw the birth of hip hop. Listened to all the true founders of modern hip hop. Basically every OG mentioned in Hip hop lover I grew up listening to. I understand Hip hop culture includes not just Rap, but dance, beat boxing, art(graffiti)etc. BTS Rap line are true Hip Hop. They manage to transcend language barriers in a genre defined by style, rhythm, and wordplay. Rap is Rhythm And Poetry. Our rapline writes their own music. Always has, always will. These 3 gentlemen personify these basic hip hop tenets. Each has their own style based on their own personality. They all remain true to themselves. (Whichever self they happen to need to be that day! LOL!) Namjoon, Yoongi and Hoseok accomplish all this on a global scale.Through the efforts of them, and their BTS brothers, ARMY, and HYBE, global awareness of Korean culture has grown at an unprecedented rate. Big Hit became Hybe -an addition to the "Big 3" entertainment companies. Hybe now has subsidiaries all over the world. Jay Park is a rapper/ businessman entrepreneur. (and a good one). His career is successful and in some ways inspiring. He has overcome setbacks and recreated himself in order to succeed. He has helped his fellow S. Korean rappers by giving them a place to grow creatively, without placing limitations on their creativity. However, Globally, not so much. K hip hop is not perceived as a separate entity from k pop outside of Korea. At least not in the west. (The west has a hard time seeing that which it does not want to .) In conclusion, No, Jay Park is not even close to the most successful Korean rapper globally. He is simply not even in contention for that title. He is the frog in the well. This does not mean he is not talented and successful. This simply means Jay Park has been outclassed by the rapline of BTS.
This is exactly it. Even before I ever listened to BTS, I had heard of them over the years. Their name kept popping up in the most random places for me, so one day I went to YT and dove down the rabbit hole. (They truly did find me when I needed it most.) To me, this is what it means to truly be global. Your name is well known by people who don't even know who you are. That being said, as I have delved into the world of Korean artists over the past few years, I honestly couldn't even tell you who Jay Park is. I don't even remember hearing his name before this vid. That being said, that doesn't mean he isn't a talented artist. It just means his impact is much smaller than he seems to believe.
Suga filled up all the concert arenas in NY,NJ,Chicago California...his performances & stage presence...out of this world. I appreciated rap coz of BTS RM,Suga, & Hobi... I don't care about other rappers you mention here coz they don't have impact in my life, it doesn't matter who started it. What matters to me is who has the POSITIVE INFLUENCE & IMPACT in my life & that's ONLY BTS, period. As an ARMY, I Stan BTS not only for their artistry but more so because of their HUMILITY.
also he could have filled a stadium as tickets were sought after that much but stayed humble and did an arena instead. but i think in terms of size he still based on first concert as a solo rapper beat out eminem and i dont think j park has done that now has he lol
Suga and RM, are real rappers. They were underground rappers before becoming Idols. They never lost their identity as underground rappers due to some of their solo projects.
All I can say on the topic is that I did not listen to ANY rap before BTS which I became ARMY in 2017. I did not have an interest, though I heard it through a few songs on the radio here and there, but I was not listening to them, does that make sense? Hearing rappers (American, Asian or any other) before 2017 I did not care too much for it, but since BTS I have gained a better ear for Rap, through BTS. I have gained knowledge and a little more understanding. If it were not for BTS, I probably still would not have listened or cared for any Rap to this day. Now, I know who these rappers are through BTS and do research when BTS mention or do a collab, which again would never have done if it weren't for BTS. I do make a point of listening to a few songs from other rappers, just so I know who they are but Hahaha!!!! unfortunately, I still don't care to listen to other rappers besides BTS. To me Suga, RM and Jhope are my rap gods!!!
Wow...I was & still am xactly like u...I've listened to other rappers as well but only BTS duz it for me... I just LOVE hw they incorporate it into their music & watever song it is it just goes up another level💜💚🫰
i was so shocked when i heard what jay park said.. the only group/k-artist that i stan is bts and ive never seen them talk like this even tho they're literally on top right now. ofc not everyone's the same.. bts are so down to earth and humble they've never compared themselves to others and im so proud of them they deserve to achieve what they have achieved and much more. i respect them a lot
I have always listened to rap/hip hop and one day Cypher Pt4 popped up. Well that was it. Rapping about loving yourself? That was amazing and unusual so I had to know more, and the rest is history. I listen and/or watch BTS every day now and would be lost without ALL of them. Critics, other rappers, Jay Park etc who may not be ARMY seem to still be embarrassed to say they love the BTS rapline. Why would you be embarrassed about great flows and beats, insightful lyricism, deep meanings and amazing production? And out of all the members, them being the 3 main writers for BTS shows what a contribution they make and influence they have both on BTS music and the other members.💜
AND JAY PARK ONCE SAID HE DON'T LIKE BEING ASSOCIATED WITH BTS COZ EVERYTIME HE ON A PLANE OR IN AMERICA OR ANYWHERE OVERSEAS PEOPLE WOULD COME UP TO HIM AND ASK IF HE WITH BTS...WE GET IT BUT HE SHOULD BE HUMBLE ABOUT IT AND BE PROUD THAAT AT LEAST PEOPLE KNOW HIS FELLOW KOREAN ARTISTS...THIS HAS MADE HIM JEALOUS AND ENVIOUS OF WHAT BTS HAS COME TO STAND FOR...THE PRIDE OF KOREA...COZ TRUTH BE TOLD, GLOBALLY NOBODY GIVES A CENT ABOUT HIM...
@@MontereiMasima What does him not wanting to be recognized as BTS have to do with humbleness. He never said he doesn't like being associated with BTS, he just said BTS doesn't make up all of Korean music. What do you expect him to say?? "Oh, I feel so proud to be recognized as BTS because I'm Korean"??? Bro just because we feel pride in BTS, doesn't mean we feel grateful for being recognized as them??
I love that you made this video. When I watched that interview of JP on PSick I just cringed at what he was saying. The faces of the guys listening to him say that had me laughing because they looked at him as if he was delusional. And it’s because he is! He started out at an idol! RM and Suga have always been rappers. They were underground rappers who became idols. JP was an idol who became a rapper. He was trained while RM and Suga was self taught. The truth is the world knows more about South Korea music and Kpop because of BTS. JP comes off as a delusional narcissist when he speaks and low key jealous. Is he a successful Korean rapper….Yes! This is a fact. But globally it is RM and Suga.
EXACTLY...ALL THESE RAPPERS ARE LOCALLY SUCCESSFUL WHEREAS BTS ARE AT THE VERY TOP GLOBALLY...BUT YEA THESE KRAPPER ENTHUSIASTS WILL SAY ANYTHING TO DISCREDIT BTS SAYING ALL THESE LOCAL RAPPERS DID THIS AND THAT...THE FUCK? NOBODY KNOW THESE PEOPLE EXCEPT THEIR ENTHUSIASTS FANS UNLIKE BTS WHOM EVERYBODY ON THIS PLANET KNOW...WETHER BE IT BTS ANTIS/HATERS OR NON KPOP ENTHUSIASTS THEY KNOW BTS...THE WORLD DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THESE LITTLE LOCAL RAPPERS, THEY ARE IRRELEVANT OUTSIDE OF KOREA...
Regardless who started the korean hip hop movement, at the end of the day BTS RM and Suga are in a league of theory own. Their hardworking has talen them far as solo artists and a members of group BTS.
Thanks for your video about this topic. I didn’t like Western Hip Hop and Rap. I wasn’t familiar with the Korean Hip Hop and Rap until I heard Suga, RM and J-Hope. There lyrics and voices touched my heart. My respect for them is great.
RM doesn't need to sell out stadiums solo or go on tour to solidify himself as the father of Hip Hop or rap in Korea. I think Suga's skills are impressive and he has made a name for himself especially from a production perspective but the soul of Hip Hop and Rap is lyricism and wordplay and NO ONE comes close to RM's pen when it comes to that. Just listen to Yun and you'll understand. Also, RM's cadence and his understanding of bars is INSANE! Just listen to BTS Cypher part 2 and Ddaeng. Namjoon is the father of Korean Hip Hop/Rap, alongside Suga, Epik High (Mostly Tablo).
I am an army and even Namjoon , Yoongi and Hoseok they are well aware they are not the fathers of korean hip/hop and rap you can listen to hiphophile to realize this. They are well aware of those who came before them and inspired them. Its well known he really respects his hip hop hyungs by making collabs with them. You can listen to Timeless by Tiger JK to see where im coming from. Even tho they did not invented, created and are fathers of korean hip hop they most definitely have made a huge impact to bring korean hiphop and rap to more people but still we gotta pay credits where they are due to the rappers who did really started korean hiphop
@@sensitivethug7I don't think that's the main point of this comment ..they just wanted to highlight RM's skills because the video a little bit more focused on Suga.....I do agree with you though on the part that they aren't the father's of hip-hop obviously and they themselves don't claim that to begin with
Suga and RM's songwriting and productions are good, but we should not give them undo credit. Even in rap currently, their rap is not far above their peers enough to call them that. Rappers like BeWhy, Dok2, and Epik High, Simon Dominic, Dynamic Duo and endless others who primarily write rap songs are equally, if not more, influential to Korean rap.
@@DualPippaAgreed, as a fan of BtS rapline, claiming they're the best rappers or father of korean hip-hop is so disrespectful to the real ones, considering BTS themselves payed respect to the OG, or the actual rappers who influenced & came before them. Also, you'll never hear BTS bragging they're the best or claiming they're the biggest/successful rapper in SK unlike Jay Park. Besides, BTS doesn't need to be the best rappers, best singers, best dancers. I just like them for what they are. Doesn't matter to me if others don't consider them as rappers or artists.
I am ARMY so My opinion may seemed biased but I have been following kpop and korean music since a decade now, and I love love rap and hiphop, I grew up listening to rap songs from west and from my part of the world as well, So when I got into korean music I wanted to learn about k rap..... I agree to everything she said in this video, Korean undergroung have some good rappers with mesage, ngl I dont listen to them these days but the mainstream ones and the ones who actually started always would be tiger jk , epic hugh, dymanic duo atleast for me.. i used to like Jaypark's rnb music more than his rap songs... He is a succesful person on his own place, he has some company, owns own soju brand, has given a place for many k rappers and dancers..... He is doing very good on his career and there is no denying on it... but, if we talk global, I really dont think his reach is as far as epic high alone, but If we talk about korean rap and global reach, The title alone would go to BTS rapline, from sales, to streams to actually gather audience and get people ineterested in korean rap scene in the west... I have actually some friends here in aus, like real rap nerds who actually listen to agust d,...... Biggest artists collab to shout out to selling shows, Hobi's lolla was all hiphop, heavily rap focused, first k rapper to headline major us music festival, agust d highest selling first day, hghest grossing tour, RM alone has 216 writing credits................ If we talk about global influence NOone in Korea can come near to BTS's rapline even if they scream tthat one top of their lungs.........
AMEN AND AMEN however, these K-HIPHOP ENTHUSIASTS would always disagree because they would never accept BTS IS ALL THAT...THEY ARE IN DENIAL WHEN WE ONLY JUST HEARD OF THESE PEOPLE JUST NOW BECAUSE OF BTS...I GUESS THE CYPHER WERE MEANT FOR THESE MUGGLES THEN...
J Hope's collab with J Cole alone brought many of Cole's fans to become aware of k rap. Agust D Daechwita also had a similar impact both globally and in Korea. Indigo also did well with many US artist featuring. In terms of influence on Korean rap and their fellow rappers or rap listeners (who listen to rap primarily), they are not the most influential imo. They do not focus enough on rap to be influential in the rap community. That goes to BeWhy and Dok2 in this generation. Also, Tiger JK and Epik High generally.
Thank you very much for bringing up the obvioud because I really dislike Jay Park's arrogance. During JHope's appearance in his show, it was so obvious to see the difference between their character. Jhope was so naturally down to earth while Jay Park was obviously trying to compete with the attention Hobi was getting. I remember how Jay Park almost stumbled during their dance show down..he couldn't beat Hobi's cool yet exceptional moves. In fact, hobi was way better in dancing Jay Park's own song.😅
BTS rapline have been fans of hiphop since they were young. They know the roots well. Namjoon and Yoongi have been underground rappers while Hobi was also connected deeply to hiphop music a lot since he was dancer as he said himself. I feel BTS rapline is not trying to show the hiphop as an aesthetic that everyone else does. Most of these kpop rappers are not here for the true meaning of hiphop and rap. They are mainly in love with the aesthetic of being cool and swaggy. Usually you will see them think rapping can only be fast or just hardcore while most of the times their lyrics have no substance at all
Hands down yoongi is the best all that he does is inspirational to people ,After suffering with anxiety he pushed himself to perform in other countries to be alone on stage and that takes one tough cookie to do that, RM and jhope are in a class of there own but even yoongi and RM when talking on sutwitcha RM said he was so greatful that yoongi was doing the concert as it would be helpful to the members, yoongi is the first Korean solo idol to have done this and he created the whole concert concept alone and produced it,He took his live band mates and best friend el capitan with him, He won best rap/hip hop artist in Korea. There is a reason why other famous artists want to work with BTS and that because they are an elite group .seems to me that j park has got a bit of a cheek to think he is the best. As for Epik High well they are really good friends with yoongi and he even produced a song for there latest album. The Quiet sounds like a good guy thats trying to help the rappers to go further and j park should be counting his blessings for meeting him.I am 52 and the only other band to impact my life was coldplay and to have had BTS and them create a fabulous song was it for me. BTS has become who i will talk about with my friends and family since i dont know any ARMY. When they bring out solo work i dont choose 1 over the other like i see alot of people do because i believe that ARMY is the group BTS fans and not just 1 out of the 7 if your choosing 1 then you making that person a solo artist and they have not split from the group.I hope they continue to wow us with there creative genius when they come back. They have brought me many happy moments with there music and when they are so random and funny in bon voyage or in the soop or run BTS so i am thankful,Also the speculation about here gender and sexuality is really nobodys business and i only hope they have as much happiness in there life that they have given me.
I was introduced into interpretation of hiphop and rapping because of BTS Rapline. And I knew Jay Park way back when he was a member of 2PM and after he left the group and make himself a Hiphop soloist. Yes, he has a talent yet I don't like his music honestly. Maybe because I can't resonate with it. But with Suga most specifically, his Agust D music were like a diary of mine and responses to my unspoken questions. 💜 To me, the most globally recognized korean Rapper and hiphop artists were Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok، Kim Namjoon.
I really appreciate your straightforward and concise exploration of this topic. I didn't watch the Jay Park interview, and frankly, don't really care what his opinion is on other artists, but this was still very interesting to watch. I will be looking up The Quiet after this. No one can deny that Jay Park is successful. He has the combination of skill, business savvy and hussle to get shit done. However, he also sounds like an arrogant ass every time he opens his mouth. That, combined with his seeminly inability to take responsibility when he messes up, has made me lose all respect for him. When I first heard his music, I really liked some of it; however, it lacks the substance to be long lasting. No one is going to give a damn about most of his music in time. It seems like he's better known for being a jackass than for his music. (I guess that's one business strategy.) Epik High, Suga, and Namjoon's music has more substance to me. There's nothing wrong with superficial music for fun, but if that's the full extent of your discography, you are easily traded out for a new model. Also, if you have to be the one to call yourself a Legend, you are not a legend.
@@AsianEntertainmentandCulture I'm not sure I'd even give him that much credit. I think he'd be eaten alive by the industry staples here, and I think Jay knows it.
Oh nicely summed up and I have to agree with you. I was going to say something similar and was writing down a few notes when I got distracted and then read your post.
I don't think anyone that ever met him in person has ever had anything bad to say about him, we should differentiate between self-confidence and arrogance. from the interviews that I've seen of him and what other khh seniors such (tiger JK or tablo) say about him he seems one of the most hardworking people in the scene and someone who truly loves the hip-hop scene and willing to help anyone whenever they ask him to
When considering the metrics used to gauge impact, where does J-Park stand? Is his influence, achievements, legacy, personal growth, and social impact anywhere close to what BTS has accomplished?
using the metrics i used, Jay Park is nowhere near the top for sales, streamings, and concerts. if we talk of helping other Korean rappers, i would consider him 2nd to The Quiett. If we talk of messaging or substance, i would put him in the lower part. not really the bottom but still lower half. that's my opinion. for your second question, he isn't even close to RM, Suga, Jhope in terms of influence, achievements and social impact. like, he is so far. i'd say Soyeon (the leader of girlgroup (G)I-dle) has more artistic and social impact. personal growth, i don't know him so i can't answer this. legacy, he is helping a lot of rappers. his labels provide rappers marketing support without meddling with their artistry. But The Quiett did it first and continues to do it.
I like 2 give credit where credit is due: i really respect his tenacity 2 not only come back 2 korea after the 2pm thing, but 2 also form his own record label. from wut i understand, his connection w/ roc nation was 4 a limited time, & he had 2 many obligations n asia 2 commit 2 coming 2 the states 2 push his career farther here. I actually like his r&b songs better personally than his rap, but he has rapping skills- i agree his rap songs lack substance that i care about. he also can dance well, so he is a triple threat, but i respect most his work w/ his label-n that way he has had a direct impact on a lot of careers, but hybe is a thing that wouldn't exist w/out bts, so i don't know how 2 compare them since they aren't the same, but that's something 2 note. all that being said, globally, like not just usa & sk, suga, rm, & jhope i think take the cake, & i think substance wise as well, but that is just my opinion & i am biased✌💜🙏
I agree. I really liked his R&B songs too. Jay Park is not a great rap influence anywhere, not in Korea or in the US. He is talented, admirable in his tenacity, and through his label, he has had a part in the growth of korean R&B and rap. By himself, though, his rap skills are not good enough to be influential. Even when you take BTS out of the equation.
I fell IN love with the practical, logical foundation you showed & the immense love behind it. The rap line is my bias group (JHope, Suga, RM is my personal order within my bias group & the vocal line is my wrecker with V, JK, Jimin, & Jin). I still & will probably never know why or how they entered into my life. I was always pulled to Japan & to Tibet, specifically to the Buddhist temples in the Himalayas. So, where, how did 7 magnificent South Korean princes impact our lives so deeply???? For me, it began with JHope. I heard his voice ("More") first before I knew BTS. At the time I just thought he was an emerging metal vocalist I hadn't heard yet. Shortly after I moved in with my best friend, who introduced me to BTS. Then without knowing at the time, I uttered the magic phase, "What are their names?" And down the rabbit hole & blissfully happy into the BTS universe. About then I had an epiphany & fully realized it had been our sunshine that pulled me in. They all make this world a brighter, better world.
I really appreciate your perspective and support for that perspective in this video. I sometimes think people say things based on their antidotal experiences without validating then with research. I did not view the video with Jay Park’s comments and the perspective he was using. I just hope this was not a slight for Suga, RM or Jhope. They do not deserve it. RM especially promotes other artists, rapper, singer or other. With the platform BTS members have, their thoughts resonate globally. Thanks again for the video.😊
I wonder if anyone can really quantify the impact and contribution of bts, especially the rap line to the development of other artists in terms of capital and opportunities considering the creation of a company like Hybe. We agree with the saying many stand on the shoulder of giants but ngl, it’s just very heartwarming to hear other artists both old and new gen, acknowledge bts and army for all that they do.
My opinion is that the Bangtan rapline are currently unmatched. I went to Wembley and Tear gave me shivers. Also attended Dday in NYC and Suga is the most amazing rapper. Namjoon is a poet and his lyrics are the most amazing wordplays. I wish people would give Jhope more credit for his rapping skills. Hoseok is old school rap/ hip hop. BTS rapline are always humble but true GOAT!
When I heard the interview with Jay Park & he made that statement it sounded arrogant and condescending. As an Army my reaction was defensive. I honestly didn't know enough to judge the situation so thank you for the historical review & the cross the hip-hop scene view on what a "rapper" in Korea means. Until BTS I didn't really like RAP - American RAP that is - but I love Suga, RM, & J-Hope's styles. Old-school American RAP was message-based before women, drugs, and money became the focus. It's nice to see Korean rappers defending their tradition. Thank you & fantastic video as always. Love your style & I'm amazed "THIS" isn't your full-time job.
One final comment. As a 53 year old American Nana, lol. I have never been into rap and couldn't appreciate the genre very much because of the content of the mv's, the lyrics were not the best the few times I heard any American rapper. It took three Korean guys from BTS and the message and lyrics of their rap songs to make me appreciate the genre, they even introduced me to J. Cole , who I now appreciate his talent as well as Wale.
Thank you for this. actually, frankly speaking, I didnt really like Jay Park... i never listened to his song and i dont know he had a song... obviously i will never going to his concert either.. if he said he's the best rapper in SK, well.... i think he must be dreaming koz i know there are a lot of great and good rapper in SK... especially RM & SUGA.. Tiger JK, Epic High and etc... he may say he's the best but actually, no.. he is not the best rapper.. i dont think so... if ever he and SUGA doing the concert at the same time and same date, i definitely going to SUGA concert...
I'm sorry, I just only know Jay Park from that one song. Growing up listening to people like Common, Nas, and 2 Pac. I feel Suga and RM music. They get it. At 47, I feel their rap more.
As usual, great video with impeccable research! I know very little about Jay Park, nor do I wish to know more since he seems to embody what I've come to hate about Western hip hop most: bragging about irrelevant stuff and self-aggrandizing. The fact that he, from what I understand, has compared himself to RM and Suga in particular on numerous occasions and for his own validation says to me that he's insecure and not as great as he pretends to be.
@@zilesherbano3883 I don't follow him, but I do remember an interview back in 2020(?) where he said something like him and BTS were why kpop and khip hop were on the map. That's dragging BTS into his interview for clout, imo.
@@bungluna9211 ANOTHER ONE WHERE HE SAID, HE HATES IT WHEN PEOPLE OVERSEAS ASSOCIATES HIM WITH BTS LIKE OFCOZ PEOPLE DONT KNOW HIM AND ONLY KNOW BTS...
Thank you for this video!!! I honestly don’t really know Jay Park but I have heard/seen clips of that interview at the beginning and honestly didn’t know what to think since I did know really anything about how him… Thanks for the explanation and honestly I think I agree but then again it is only learned about him from this video.
What these older Hip Hop entertainers have to realize is that many of us are new to not only K-Pop, but K-Hip Hop. Sorry to say that we never have heard of them, so we are even more biased to Suga and RM. Now, granted, we can understand why they feel they are different from BTS rappers, but that is what we know, and that is what we prefer. Always, respect to senior Hip Hop artists, but understand we will always remain at Suga’s and RM’s side.
Real Me aka RM and Shooting Guard aka Suga aka August D are the only in No. 1 list of rappers the two powerhouse of hip hop culture! there’s no other but # RM & Agust D
First of all, how many categories do you have to put up, to show that Jay Park hasn't made the biggest impact? His Ego! Also, I think that Jay Park saying himself that he's made the most impact in the rap world, turns me off. Yes, he has a following. He reminds me of Donald Trump, the way he brags. A few months ago, I did a man on the street question asking, Who is Jay Park? Not one person I asked, had a clue who he was. I'm in the United States, that may have had an impact of the people not knowing who he was. Not one person knew him, so this shows, a piece of his world impact so far in 2023.
You should listen to others before making claims of them being best. They are good but aren't necessarily better than artists like J Cole, Kendrick Lamar...
@rafaelsmith5737 Crazy how I wrote this, and a month later, they're beefing. I'm not sure if you're asking seriously, but. The best is a league to me, and they're both in it.

I dun really care for jay park saying that he is the hero but anyway thankyou for explaining this and make me more love and respect for ourbangtan rappers
The minute you have to claim, “I’m the best/ it is because of me” a huge red flag raises. If you have to give yourself props then you are not what you think you are. Period.
It is beyond belief how the Korean music industry and media either downplay or pretend BTS is non- existant regarding any global success that is infact attributed to them on every level. It is infact arrogant and insulting to all of the efforts of Bangtan to bring the entire status of Korean Culture to the world's stsge and succeed in raising it's global level to heights never seen or done before. The power they hold is undeniable and unsuppressable although some try to claim it or use it for nefarious reasons such as greed and envy.. it is transparent and pretty pathetic although the public will eat it up as they often do along with their specific idol stans claims to fame ....all with a sheepish grin! Pun intended..
Nothing against Jay Park at all, I'm sure he is an accomplished artist but I hadn't heard of him until well after Psy & BTS become internationally successful.
It's about the music Bts rap line make, many koreans are good rappers and have unque voices, some in the groups are forced to rap and their knowledge in writing lyrics or in hip hop is nothing compared to Jhope especially RM and Suga knowledge, they studied rap and hip hop for years And i think everything is about the music, you have to do good music to be in the category best rapper
I've been seeing the use of Idol Rapper as a derogatory term in some of these comments. And I am coming from the United States so take that into account but I am hearing rappers and other artists here in the states speak admiringly and even longingly of what Kpop artists are able to accomplish with the training they receive and with the reach of their fan bases that they work so hard to build. I know there is a dark side to the Kpop industry and a fluffy side to some of the music but not all of it-BTS's music has grown to be truly extraordinary across the board from the content of their songs, the themes of their albums and lyrics, the visuals they create with their MVs, the phenomenal choreography and stage performances, the strength and range of their vocal line and the strength and depth of their rap line-they are just an extraordinary team who are outstanding individual performers who become truly phenomenal performers when they work as a team. As I understand Jay Park's story, he had that tremendous drive for music as a young child to the point that his mother tricked him into entering into a competition he thought was for money but that was really for a chance to train with a Kpop team. He left Seattle and went to Korea because he loved music and loved dancing. His path has been different from the members of BTS but he has continued to love music and dance and has continued to strive to do what he loves. He has and continues to make great music. His focus is different from that of Namjoon, Min Yoongi and J Hope but he has lived a different life and has had different influences. Perhaps he flexes and that is grating for some to hear but that sort of flexing is a very natural, accepted, expected part of rap in America where Jay Park started and had alot of his formative time. Both types of rap can be good and appreciated without having to put the other type of rap down as inferior. Go back to American Hustle Life when the boys of BTS were challenged to make a music video like a true American hiphop video-They had the chains from Warren G, they needed a flashy car and girls for the MV to complete the American hiphop MV formula. Look now at Jay Park's Mommae MV-I love that song alot-I drive my adult children crazy listening to that song-but I was startled the first time I saw the MV--but I realize now that it is pure, classic American hiphop formula per Warren G...just coming to Korea thanks to Jay Park. It's art and these folks are artists creating with music, visuals and dance and with helping new artists get started creating new art. All of that is good-if flexing is part of that sometimes, just roll your eyes if you must and let them flex. Chances are, that flexing is as much to convince a young artist to let them help him or her as to really assert the content of the flex.
😂😂😂so jealous that Suga is a global RAPPER!!! No wonder Suga dedicated songs to those who hate him… Suga says that he prefers to play… no hate… Jealous… Suga is not writing about superficial topics… his topics are about experience ms and expectations and more jealous… they are bleeding jealousy…….
RAP LINE WROTE THOSE SONGS FOR JAY PARK🤣🤣WHICH IS WHY HE HATES BTS SO MUCH LOL...I CAN NAME A FEW LINES FROM CYPHER THAT PROLLY WHERE MEANT FOR SOME OF THE OTHERS TOO, AND DEFINITELY SOME FOR THESE PEOPLE ON HERE TRYING TO DISCREDIT BTS😂😂😆LOCAL RAPPERS TO GLOBAL RAPPERS IS THE DIFFERENCE...IN DENIAL IS A DESEASE MUGGLES, SICK OF THESE IRRELEVANT PEOPLE TRYING TO BE RELEVANT DOWN PLAYING AND DISCREDITING BTS...BTS PAVED THE WAY FOR ALL OF KOREA...
I'm Australian and I love the rap style of music but I always hated the way American rap denigrates women and the lyrics are so often meaningless or glorifying violence. Since I found out about Korean rap in the last couple of years I really love it, for all the reasons you mentioned.
@ I have listened to them. They’re good and more meaningful than most, but my point on the denigration of women in the lyrics still stands I’m afraid. It’s just that American audiences are so used to it that they don’t even notice. It’s not like that here.
Thank you for providing the history on S Korean artists that others may not. It nice to see reactions to music however my interest is also on how these artists began and their impact on S Korean society and culture. This was a good information on hip hop in South Korea. 💜
Yes J-Hope solo concert at Lollapalooza is record breaking. He holds the record as the only act to outsell any other act in the history of Lollapalooza. It was also live streamed worldwide. I watched it via that live stream from my house here in the UK. Jay Park when you can do that come back and we'll talk lol
I signed up today! Another fan of your videos! Loved your analysis. It was objective, with well-defined parameters and no insults! I might add, the truth hurt the most! 😅 Unless he reclassifies what good rap is, or puts himself on top of the rapper podium in a single category with songs about $ex and d#ugs in Korea! Which also makes me question this position, because "All nights" is there; some Namjoon and Suga features are also out there, like Sex Nunkim, Smoke Sprite, Change pt2, etc. And I'm not even a fan of them, but I remember perfectly of "Make a wish" by NCT
Thank you for sharing this information of history of rap in South Korea. It was so interesting. I probably will watch this show (PSick) because I honestly enjoy the guys who host it and would like to see their reaction to Jay's bold statement. Keep up the well thought out commentary.
@@magnolia2 PLEAE DON'T YOU DARE GOOGLE HIM, IT WILL ONLY GIVE HIM RELEVANCE😁😁THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BTS AND THEM IS WE'LL ALL HAVE TO GOOGLE THESE NOBODIES...
@VishuZ1 Relax... yeah i don't think jhope is better than suga currently but based off verses they have given us in the last 4-5 years, jhope rhymes schemes are more dense, and rhythms more complex than namjoon's. suga's are better than both in general. That being said I think 2015 rm was probably the best idol rapper of that entire year, and if we look at legacy (as in, all rap verses so far, not just recent ones), then namjoon is definitely the 2nd or 3rd idol rapper of all time (looking at his pre-debut to 2016 stuff). suga i'd put in the top 10, and j-hope, top 20. namjoon chose to experiment with genre, which leads to him focusing on other methods of conveying music besides rapping, so as of 2022 he is rather out of practice. his wildflower second verse is still not as good as the stuff he was coming out with in 2010 as a 15 year old, like the rap over nicki's itty bitty beat.
@VishuZ1 what do you think I don't know about rap?? Rm. s my favourite rapper in bts so... go to the car kpop channel if you want objective rap analysis. I'm a musician myself and capable of transcribing rap rhythms. I listen very carefully to flow schemes and cadences I know a lot about rap. I have classical rhythm and music theory training of a decade so I can tell when a rapper is doing well or not. What exactly are you so angry aboht? Like you, my favourite bts rapper is rm. Som..
@VishuZ1 I didn't get those judgements from him. I got them from my own musical knowledge. Read my comment again, it is edited. I am a musician of over a decade. And yes, I agree with you that RM is a better rapper than Suga has ever been, but that is not reflected in Indigo or his BTS verses since 2018. That doesn't mean he is a worse musician, but rapper, at the moment? Yes he is not as good. I agree that Suga makes generic hip-hop music and isn't particularly innovative like RM. I also think no idol (save for a few) have put out a rap body of work as good as RM's first mixtape. Don't see what you're getting so angry about.
@VishuZ1 I saw his video about Jungkook... and he just said JK rapped fast which he did. Car Kpop thinks JK is a terrible rapper (as he is) for your information. Watch any of his idol rap ranking videos; he says JK is a poor rapper. What did you find offensive about his Jungkook video? He just says JK rapped fast. Once. He didn't say that makes JK a good rapper. It's more of a funny piece of BTS lore that JK has delivered the fastest verse., nobody's taking it seriously.
I feel like your argument is VERY bias and only focussed on Suga's sales which have a lot to do with him being the favourite rapper in BTS, not exactly his actual IMPACT in isolation of BTS. You're not mentioning RM's impact at all and what he's done for new underground Hip Hop groups like Balming Tiger, his INSANE lyricism and his INFLUENCE in art and how that translates into his message in music and Korean hip-hop as a whole. The quality of indigo is unmatched.
When it comes to RM tbh let’s be real 🤚🏾 I think somehow it is downplaying him by saying he’s just a rapper ( being a rapper is great don’t misunderstand me) but because since this chapter started he showed us that he’s so much more he’s a real rounded musician that can fit and do it all and I love this about him even his albums are so different all the 3 of them and he never brags about it or act like he’s different, he’s just doing his thing As for other bts members too and I love that about them so much 👏🏾 so that man putting himself above everyone it’s funny I mean you can hype yourself without being ignorant and act like you’re the GOAT when you’re actually not , I don’t know 🤷🏾♀️
Exactly! RM is soooo much more than just a rapper. He is a rapper, songwriter, lyricist, poet, leader, composer, producer and even a dancer. He is an all-rounded MUSICIAN. He is truly GIFTED. He understands music in a way that most people don't. That's how he is able to just know instinctively, what sounds good and what doesn't. He is ABSOLUTELY phenomenal. So phenomenal that his brilliance goes over armys' heads. I swear this fandom and this world in general doesn't deserve him. He is the GOAT. (GREATEST OF ALL TIME).
Tiger JK and Yoon MI Rae made the biggest impact globally for rap, but I acknowledge that JP does something for hip hop, but not he has been seen mostly as a pop idol singer before he is a rapper. He has cultivated a lot of new rappers, but not sure if how successful it any of them become since I am not paying attention to k-hiphop
1st Asian to be signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation. Awarded the 1st Game Changer award by The Smithsonian. In all seriousness though, how would it be a fair comparison when Jay Park doesn't tour and is one of the busiest people in that industry (he owned 2 labels with about 20 ish artists/producers in each label while doing his US/Roc Nation thing) and to call him too western, well he is American and his style is leaned more towards 1990's style than the modern so he's in the niche. As I said, he doesn't tour much (he plans to do one last one), but he has got lots of music festivals both domestically and some occasionally internationally, some for universities (where the money goes to paying off university students' loans), TV-shows and Soju pop-ups, and brand deals. With the things I've written below, unfortunately, I don't know if he'll do US activities unless he gives up / stops all he's doing currently or has done for years, that being a multi-CEO-artist hybrid. Especially as he has teased his retirement since 2018 (10 years into his career at that time) Jay is 15 years into his career, where he has been an idol for 1 year -> 2 years after started his solo career -> 3 years after he started his solo career, launched his 1st label AOMG -> 4 years after AOMG, launched H1GHR Music his 2nd label + Roc Nation signee (by the age of 30 - was in the Forbes 30 under 30's list in Asia 2017) -> 5 years after H1GHR Music, launched his own Soju brand, Won Soju and his 3rd label More Vision, where he plans on debuting idol group(s) (stepped down his CEO pos. in AOMG [9 years at that time] and H1GHR [5 years at that time], but then those 40 ish artists became big names especially the younger ones (H1GHR) - I know other ppl in the khiphop world have labels too, but they are more tight-knit. 1llionaire closed down like some others recently, Swings owns like +3 labels (average of 5 artists/producers) where the majority has been into illegal stuff. No doubt that JP is one of the best CEOs in the industry and is considered a role model to lots of K-pop idols and incoming khiphop artists as well and he doesn't charge ppl if they want him as a feature on a song like ppl in the West. He's not as egotistical as people view him, but with what he has done in such a small time frame with ups and downs, then I guess it doesn't harm too much that he comes off that way occasionally. JP never got that glamourous Grammy/billboard career, but throughout his career, he has mentioned that he doesn't focus on numbers or charts to have success and even encourages his artists to not get caught up in it or do music purely for those numbers and charts. Remember JP only started his career to help support his family, then it became friends, and other artists (even those outside his labels - with SMTM, unpretty rapper, High school rapper, and even outside SK - have done more features than released solo stuff without charging) All in all, JP has been family oriented and community oriented helping uplifting people around him with the occasional selfishness. Speaking of which he'll probably do in these coming years as his retirement approaches. He has done a lot for people showing that he is selfless and the people around him have credited him, people in the industry view him as their role model, and fans or not jumps on forums and requests certain artists to join one of JP's label when they are let go off their old company. When talking about his retirement, JP has said that he'll retire so he can take aback relax for once and live for himself and can be more selfish, as he has been in that leader esk pos. since his early 20's with 2pm and being CEO and until his idol group debuts, JP finally can focus a bit more on his own solo career.

I think J Park is HIGHLY insecure….I think he looks at RM and Suga as K-pop rappers whereas outside the group they are just like him…same type of hip hop rap…they were underground before BTS for goodness sake. I don’t take away his amazing craft but He’s soooo unnecessarily arrogant 😭🧎🏽♀️
JAY PARK WAS AN IDOL FIRST BEFORE HE GOT KICKED OUT THEN BECAME A SO CALLED RAPPER WHEREAS BTS RAP LINE WERE FIRST AND FOREMOST UNDER GROUND RAPPERS SO WHO IS THE IMPOSTER HERE...HE WILL ALWAYS BE IRRELEVANT AS FAR AS BEING A GLOBAL SUPERSTAR GOES...AND HIS LITTLE VOICE CAN'T BE COMPARED TO BTS RAPLINES UNIQUE STYLE AND VOICES/MUSIC...
Jp with his arrogant self always thinking his the best really annoys. How he always wants comparison. As for BTS just do their things and remain humble
Bragging about yourself and your abilities is a big part of hip hop. There is nothing outrageous about Jay Park’s claim. It’s very normal amongst rappers. We don’t have to agree with him, but we don’t have to be shocked by his claim either.
i partially agree. bragging is part of hiphop but it's not part of Korean culture. so, technically, it's not Korean Hip Hop. that's why in the Psick Show, the guy in the middle, the one that asked Jay Park about his song, the way he phrased the question and his expression says it all, "what the hell were you thinking". it's like, "this is not who we are". so yes, bragging is part of hiphop. i once said that it's like being in a basketball court, you hear players trash talking a lot and 99% of what they say, they will never say off court. it's just the game. but it's not innat to Korean.
@@AsianEntertainmentandCulture bragging is very much a korean hip hop culture. psick show are really good friends with him as well, so you're just reading too much and creating scenarios that don't even exist.
@@AsianEntertainmentandCulture No one mentioned it being Korean culture though? Khiphop is most influenced by American Hip Hop so obviously a lot of that culture will also be part of Korean Hip Hop. 피식대학 is literally a comedic company. You are reading way too deeply into everything they say. I don't blame you though. I'm assuming you're not Korean (correct me if I'm wrong) and it can get confusing for foreigners to read the right atmosphere when watching something in Korean.
@mo mo I think MC Meta, one of the few to actually first introduce hiphop in Korea and form the identity of Korea n Hiphop will disagree with you @SJ A Hiphop came from the west, anything hiphop is associated inspired by the west. however, if all you do is copy the west, that's not hiphop. you are missing the point of hiphop. hiphop came from the struggles of African Americans but you aren't supposed to copy them. you are supposed to form your own. i am assuming you are not American (correct me if i'm wrong). so if any Korean rapper is out there saying they are just influenced by American hiphop and nothing more, that's not hiphop. when it's hip hop, yes, you are supposed to think deep about it.
@@AsianEntertainmentandCulture Well I get where you're coming from, but the music Hip Hop came from America right? The way the music is composed has to be influenced by where it came from. If you make it too unique or different, it won't be considered Hip Hop. If you listen to Korean Hip Hop and American Hip Hop, in some parts they are very similar and in some other parts, they are quite different.
Insecurity kills a cat jay park is as good as the trio of Bts but Bts is worldwide he is just a rapper at korea so stop belithle yourself. The trio are now the best rapper. If you think you are so be it...thanks..BTS korea rapper are well received in the world. If you cant take it be quite and thankful that you are one of them period......🤗😎🤗😎
While I'm sure there are many good Korean rappers, it's nothing but the truth that the BTS Trio were the guys to pave the way once again and make Korean rap known worldwide.
I enjoy watching your content very much. I don't really consider myself army, and if it wasn't for Usher's collab with Jungkook I certainly wouldn't be here. That being said, as a member of the African American community with roots in slavery in the US, we amd we alone created the rap genre, and breakdancing. Just because the Jamaicans and the Latinos got in on the new phenomenon early on and were instrumental in its cintinued development (especially the Jamaicans). Does not mean they created it. Just like we didn't co-create jazz or any of the other genre's like country, blues, r'n'b, funk, gospel, and I'm still looking into folk music. There has been a global push of other groups to take partial or full credit fir my people credit. Like Busta Rhymes (Jamaican) and Fat Joe (Puerto Rican) saying they're people created the rap genre and hip hop culture. And random British guy saying that they co-created jazz. There's a video a saw recently stating how some yt people used their pain and experiences to create gospel music. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. We've always been welcoming and supportive of other groups in our spaces, much to our own detriment. We've even promoted and supported other group's cultures, because that's just who were are. But there's been a change lately amongst many as we see a push to dimish or completely remove us from our artistry, our history. In some places in this country we are no longer descendants of chattel slavery, but forced immigrants or migrants brought here to work. A re-imagined to history to appease a specific group. Please do not tell the re-imagined history to appease these people. For a lie to often enough becomes the truth!
Your comment suggest that your perspective is US based. This video is from the rap culture happening in South Korea and a comment Jay Park made. You need to view the video from that perspective. Additionally, many of this UA-camr’s cannot be fully understood without context from other videos she has made. Next, country music in the U.S. did develop from Black Americans. The same could be said for Rock and Roll and other music that is predominantly claimed by white U.S. Americans now.
@michellem6826 my comment was about other cultures in the US who claim they created hip hop either with or without us. I don't know much about Jay Park. Didn't know he existed until last summer. I don't have a problem with other groups doing our music as long as they disrespect its origin and the people who created it. I'm thankful for the contributions to our music by Jamaicans and Puerto Ricans, and anyone else that has added something valuable to it. That's all my comment was.
If he was that great, id have heard about him a long time ago,….. what i heard didnt make much impact, at least not on me. RM, Suga and Jhope are the only ones that made a difference. Sorry Jay Park. The fact you have to sat it, makes it even worse.

(The west has a hard time seeing that which it does not want to .)
In conclusion, No, Jay Park is not even close to the most successful Korean rapper globally. He is simply not even in contention for that title. He is the frog in the well. This does not mean he is not talented and successful. This simply means Jay Park has been outclassed by the rapline of BTS.
VERY well said. This is a solid summation of the truth. Jay Park is well respected - in Korea. But he has not transcended to the global audience.
Exactly
100% truth!!! 👏🏼😎
Simply put, if he was the most successful korean rapper he would not have to say it himself...
mic drop 😀

Suga filled up all the concert arenas in NY,NJ,Chicago California...his performances & stage presence...out of this world. I appreciated rap coz of BTS RM,Suga, & Hobi... I don't care about other rappers you mention here coz they don't have impact in my life, it doesn't matter who started it. What matters to me is who has the POSITIVE INFLUENCE & IMPACT in my life & that's ONLY BTS, period. As an ARMY, I Stan BTS not only for their artistry but more so because of their HUMILITY.
Totally agreed 💙👍🏼

💜👌💯🔥🇸🇷
ABSOLUTELY
also he could have filled a stadium as tickets were sought after that much but stayed humble and did an arena instead. but i think in terms of size he still based on first concert as a solo rapper beat out eminem and i dont think j park has done that now has he lol
Just same here 😀💙🙆🏻♀️

💙
@@MontereiMasima 💜👍🇸🇷
@@MontereiMasima What does him not wanting to be recognized as BTS have to do with humbleness. He never said he doesn't like being associated with BTS, he just said BTS doesn't make up all of Korean music. What do you expect him to say?? @@sja4713 I agree with you on that (coming from a BTS fan).

Of course he's the most successful South Korean rapper ever as long as he keep denying BTS rapline exist 😂
@@sensitivethug7I don't think that's the main point of this comment ..they just wanted to highlight RM's skills because the video a little bit more focused on Suga.....I do agree with you though on the part that they aren't the father's of hip-hop obviously and they themselves don't claim that to begin with
Namjoon and Suga are absolutely not the father's of hip-hop or rap in Korea. That is Epik High, Tiger JK and early generations of Korean rappers.
Thank you for this
J Hope's collab with J Cole alone brought many of Cole's fans to become aware of k rap.
Usually you will see them think rapping can only be fast or just hardcore while most of the times their lyrics have no substance at all
AMEN
Not two but the BEST THREE SUGA, RM, and J HOPE. THE BEST RAPPERS IN KOREA .
I agree. Jay park is big n successful just not to the level of jhope, suga n rm so His need for validation is insecurity
I swear you have the BEST channel on UA-cam. Every episode I learn so much. TY for the high quality content you consistently share. ❤❤❤
Suga also the first rapper in the world to have the highest gross sales for a tour/concert.
Agree. He sounds more western really, in style and substance
@@AsianEntertainmentandCulture I'm not sure I'd even give him that much credit. I think he'd be eaten alive by the industry staples here, and I think Jay knows it.
🤣 savage. I love it 🤣
Oh nicely summed up and I have to agree with you.
WHO IS HE????IF PEOPLE STILL ASK THIS QUESTION THEN HE IS A NOBODY
Congratulations and Happy 10th Anniversary BTS, Always Army Love!!! 😯😂🥳🎉🍾🥂👏🎂🕺🎶🎤👑🥇🏆💜🌎🇺🇸♾️ #TakeTwoByBTS #BTSFesta2023 #DecadeWithBTS #BTSxArmyGlobalDomination
This was very well put together and all the different angles were discussed. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I'm sorry, I just only know Jay Park from that one song. Growing up listening to people like Common, Nas, and 2 Pac. I feel Suga and RM music. They get it. At 47, I feel their rap more.
I really like ur vid. Very informative.❤❤❤
Namjoon, hoseok and yoongi took Korean music/ hiphop the furthest its ever tone, jay park is not a household name 💀
When did he compared any reference let me know 💜
@@zilesherbano3883 I don't follow him, but I do remember an interview back in 2020(?) where he said something like him and BTS were why kpop and khip hop were on the map. That's dragging BTS into his interview for clout, imo.

Enjoyable and informative!
ONLY HIS FANS AND KHIPHOP ENTHUSIASTS KNOW HIM, THE REST OF THE WORLD DON'T HAVE AN INKLING WHO HE IS
President Trump does not do a lot of bragging that is a lie.
I never heard those names! RM, Suga & J hope are the BEST RAPPERS, EVEN BETTER THAN AMERICAN RAPPER.

The minute you have to claim, “I’m the best/ it is because of me” a huge red flag raises. If you have to give yourself props then you are not what you think you are. Period.
This is why people have so much respect for BTS ,now i get it.

Great information thanks for doing this kind of video.❤
AMEN...SICK OF THESE ENTHUSIASTS TRYING TO MAKE THEIR LOCAL ARTISTS RELEVANT...
Nothing against Jay Park at all, I'm sure he is an accomplished artist but I hadn't heard of him until well after Psy & BTS become internationally successful.
Who cares abwt jpark..we all know who's breaking the recorrds when it comes to rapping😅
That’s disappointing … if Jay Park feels he needs to throw shade or put others down to get attention
I think you forgot about J-Hope.
Thank you for all of your explanations and for describing various perspectives and opinions.
It's about the music Bts rap line make, many koreans are good rappers and have unque voices, some in the groups are forced to rap and their knowledge in writing lyrics or in hip hop is nothing compared to Jhope especially RM and Suga knowledge, they studied rap and hip hop for years
And i think everything is about the music, you have to do good music to be in the category best rapper

I'm Australian and I love the rap style of music but I always hated the way American rap denigrates women and the lyrics are so often meaningless or glorifying violence. Since I found out about Korean rap in the last couple of years I really love it, for all the reasons you mentioned.
I am not big on rap but there are some quality rappers in the West. I recommend you listen to Kendrick Lamar and J Cole. There are others.
@ I have listened to them. They’re good and more meaningful than most, but my point on the denigration of women in the lyrics still stands I’m afraid. It’s just that American audiences are so used to it that they don’t even notice. It’s not like that here.

Yeah fr... j-hope verses are better than Namjoon's since 2017. his jitb album was a legit hip-hop album with some really complex flows.
@VishuZ1 Relax...
yeah i don't think jhope is better than suga currently but based off verses they have given us in the last 4-5 years, jhope rhymes schemes are more dense, and rhythms more complex than namjoon's. suga's are better than both in general.
So appreciate this video 🙏
Suga wins!
When it comes to RM tbh let’s be real 🤚🏾 I think somehow it is downplaying him by saying he’s just a rapper ( being a rapper is great don’t misunderstand me) but because since this chapter started he showed us that he’s so much more he’s a real rounded musician that can fit and do it all and I love this about him even his albums are so different all the 3 of them and he never brags about it or act like he’s different, he’s just doing his thing
As for other bts members too and I love that about them so much 👏🏾
so that man putting himself above everyone it’s funny I mean you can hype yourself without being ignorant and act like you’re the GOAT when you’re actually not , I don’t know 🤷🏾♀️
Nice job
Always stand with BTS how amazed other artists are #Bangtan Boy#
Especially as he has teased his retirement since 2018 (10 years into his career at that time)
Jay is 15 years into his career, where he has been an idol for 1 year -> 2 years after started his solo career -> 3 years after he started his solo career, launched his 1st label AOMG -> 4 years after AOMG, launched H1GHR Music his 2nd label + Roc Nation signee (by the age of 30 - was in the Forbes 30 under 30's list in Asia 2017) -> 5 years after H1GHR Music, launched his own Soju brand, Won Soju and his 3rd label More Vision, where he plans on debuting idol group(s) (stepped down his CEO pos. in AOMG [9 years at that time] and H1GHR [5 years at that time], but then those 40 ish artists became big names especially the younger ones (H1GHR) - I know other ppl in the khiphop world have labels too, but they are more tight-knit.
Remember JP only started his career to help support his family, then it became friends, and other artists (even those outside his labels - with SMTM, unpretty rapper, High school rapper, and even outside SK - have done more features than released solo stuff without charging)
All in all, JP has been family oriented and community oriented helping uplifting people around him with the occasional selfishness.
YOU ARE A JAY PARK FAN AND AN KHH ENTHUSIASTS...ONLY ENTHUSIASTS KNOW OF JAY PARK AND ALL THESE LOCAL RAPPERS, THE REST OF THE WORLD DON'T KNOW JAY PARK...THEY ONLY KNOW BTS AND ITS RAPPERS...AS FOR ACHIEVEMENTS...BTS WORKED FROM NOBODIES TO BUILD UP THE BIGGEST ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY IN KOREA (HYBE) WHICH CONSISTS OF MANY ARTISTS AND KPOP IDOLS MEANING THEY ENABLED MANY TO EARN A LIVING, MINISTY OF CULTURE ACKNOWLEDGES BTS AS THE MOST INFLUENCIAL PEOPLE IN KOREA. PRESIDENTS, KINGS AND PRINCES AND EVERYONE WHO IS ANYONE ACKNOWLEDGES BTS...BTS CONTRIBUTE THE MOST ECONOMICALLY TO SOUTH KOREA'S...THEY HAVE BEEN THE no1 INFLUENCIAL PEOPLE IN KOREA FOR 5 YEARS NOW...THEY ARE NOT CEO'S NOW OR HAVE THEIR OWN COMPANIES BECAUSE THEY ARE STILL SO RELEVANT AS ARTISTS, PERHAPS LATER WHEN THEY RETIRE THEY WILL HAVE THEIR OWN COMPANIES/BUSINESSES, THEY HAVE NO NEED FOR THAT COZ THEY HAVE THE MOST IMPACT AS ARTISTS RIGHT NOW COZ THE COMPANY AND THOUSANDS OF EMPLOYEES DEPEND ON THEM TO SURVIVE...THEIR IMPACT AND SUCCESS OUTWEIGHS THAT OF JAY PARK...JAY PARK IS SAID TO BE WORTH ONLY 10 MILLION WHEREAS BTS ARE SAID TO BE WORTH MORE THAN 300 MILLION...ONLY JAY PARK/KHIPHOP ENTHUSIASTS WOULD DISAGREE BUT THE WORLD AS MOST PEOPLE KNOW IT THAT ONLY BTS HAS THE IMPACT/INFLUENCE/SUCCESS...ENTHUSIASTS VS. THE WORLD IS WHAT THIS DISCUSSION IS...
8:00 my fave line right here! Yes!
@mo mo I think MC Meta, one of the few to actually first introduce hiphop in Korea and form the identity of Korea n Hiphop will disagree with you
@SJ A Hiphop came from the west, anything hiphop is associated inspired by the west. however, if all you do is copy the west, that's not hiphop. you are missing the point of hiphop. hiphop came from the struggles of African Americans but you aren't supposed to copy them. you are supposed to form your own. i am assuming you are not American (correct me if i'm wrong). so if any Korean rapper is out there saying they are just influenced by American hiphop and nothing more, that's not hiphop. when it's hip hop, yes, you are supposed to think deep about it.
Bts respect love you all sugh rm jhope nice Mesaage cute all contre love you all nice India Army love you all respect bts
6:11 YAAAS that's my boyyy!
J Park is the Drake of South Korea
im trying to look for new korean rappers to listen to not guys who been in boy bands
He is dreaming..jay park is nothing compare to bts...he is lower...never won any award in Sk or US....please make him wake up...
Am RM bias...love him so hard ....suga is my own strength ....but why is that nobody mentions G Dragon here....i think he it a talented human too
Jay Park is making a big fool of himself 😂 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 arrogant “ Jerk Park ! “
If he was that great, id have heard about him a long time ago,….. what i heard didnt make much impact, at least not on me. RM, Suga and Jhope are the only ones that made a difference. Sorry Jay Park. The fact you have to sat it, makes it even worse.
