Thanks for your thoughtful video. I really appreciate the facts you present. My thoughts. As a person living in the West and a minority, I find JK experimenting in the Western music market refreshing. I applaud any artist who can break into the western music market that is not white and English is not there first language. It is hard! Next, the US is the biggest music market and people pay attention if you make it big in the US. South Korea mostly ignored BTS until they started making it big in the US. Another thought is that the US has a large Spanish speaking population. Spanish speaking artist still have difficulty singing in their first language for an entire song and consistently making it high on the charts. What JK is doing is huge, especially since he is not a fluent English speaker. Also, now the US media is more willing to use translators. JK does most of his interviews in Korean. He knows who he is and is not pretending otherwise. JK is opening doors for solo artists similar to BTS opening doors to groups. Another note, what is selling out in this context? He is an artist making adult decisions with his career. When he goes on stage singing in English no one is going to mistake him for anything but what he is. But his actions will make a lot of people be more open to different artists from different countries. People need to stop trying to control him. If you like what he is doing listen. If you don’t move on; there are other artists. I look forward to seeing a larger variety of artists making it in the west.
Jungkook said he wants to be able to travel between kpop and pop. He wants to try all styles of music. That is how a artist grows. It would be nice if fans listen to want he says.
thank you. voices of reason are much appreciated. i am Army; i love BTS; i love the solo projects; JK has a unique amazing voice. He's exploring, evolving. he's an artist. that's what artists do. just like the other members of BTS in their solo presentations.
As a professional musician who plays Hawaiian music too, the Hawaiian or Traditional Hawaiian music that I heard when I was growing up has also evolved as we all as musicians here have tried things from other genres that he have experienced. A lot of times I feel as music listeners are speaking more about their personal like or taste of something. And just because a song might be in English, it can still be Hawaiian as it could be a story of something local here in Hawai’i. The thing that amazes me as a musician about BTS is their own personal travels in music and how they got to where they are today and how they are still evolving with their art. And even though you may not prefer what they are currently doing doesn’t diminish their art. I know as a professional ‘ukulele player and playing for over 50 years, it’s amazing to hear what other players are doing with their art on the ‘ukulele. Sorry for the long comment but I think a lot of people who aren’t in the music field don’t actually know what musicians actually do and how many times we fail and get up and try again. So just my music two cents.
i agree... i used to question the incorporation of english words or terms in filipino songs, it didn't strike me as original pilipino music. but i grew up. and so did my choices in music. and ive opened my eyes to the world. it doesn't mean that a song written in full native language is original, or a song written in english is a western identity. far from it. i've heard some of the best songs written in both english and filipino, and even bisaya or cebuano, two of the other major languages in the philippines. music transcends language, and that is what i've also learned while listening to BTS. it doesn't matter what language a song is written in; the important aspect is the message and the melody. the music of the Hawaiian and Pacific islands also bring me to my safe and peaceful place. :) Mahalo. Mabuhay!
Singing in English doesnt mean losing your identity. Filipino singers sang a lot in English and cover a lot of western songs but they never lost their identity. I dont know why some people always judge BTS whenever they sing in English. My personal take on this is, when a singer sings in English it widens their reach. It gets the attention of people who normally wont listen to them singing in their native language. JK has been a fan of western music ever since, in fact he has covered a lot. Is it bad for him to try if he can also do what some of his idols does. Its chapter 2, this is his time to try something diff fr BTS. He said he wants to experiment what else can he do with his voice. JK is a musician, he is all about music and its vibe. He may have agreed with the bold lyrics so he can shed his "baby" image. His song may have spicy lyrics but his part in the video is still wholesome very Asian (in general). If he gave in to the west, instead of dancing on a platform he will be on a bed with a girl that is how a western MV usually is. I just hope people will be open minded and not be selfish in boxing BTS members to just healing songs it will put so much pressure on them. They need freedom to express their creativity. As fans you just need to go with the flow. If you cant just find a new idol who will suit your taste no need to spread hate.
his Solo songs is Written and Produced by AMERICAN INDUSTRY (HYBE AMERICA) Scooter's company its NOT just an ENGLISH SONG... its WESTERN/AMERICAN song. its not asian/kpop. Filipino sing and write ENGLISH song ..its called OPM .. original pinoy music .. ORIGNAL MEANS written and produced by filipino Industry
Everybody knows its a full western song. Whats wrong with that? Shld they be limited to Korean writers and producers? Kpop in general has a pool of western writers, the only diff is they are in Korea. JK song is Pop not KPop, the Asian part (conservative part) I am talking about is the attitude shown in JKs part in the MV. It was not vulgar. I was not talking about OPM i was talking about Filipinos including in their repertoire during concerts English western songs. Those did not take away their identity. When Morisette became popular for her rendition of Secret Love Song, nobody came to her and say you are losing your identity. When Lea Salonga sang Reflection, A whole new world, she did not lost her identity.
@@m8p499 you talking about covers , im talking about album. the video is talking about HIS DEBUT SONGs Album. you meantioned ENGLISH .. i mean ENGLISH all singers around the world can sing in english. your talking about language , im talking about music INDUSTRY .. and jungkook's ALBUM is manage by Scooter's team (HYBE AMERICA) yes , its pop not Kpop.
@@peachypitchy Yes, I am talking about language. I dont have a problem whatever is Hybe Americas contribution to his single. I TRUST THE ARTIST AND HIS TALENT, THATS IT. If your problem is the American Music Industry, I am sorry but I wont argue with you. I respect whatever is your opinion on that. I am just replying to this video that for me singing in a language diff fr your own doesnt take away your identity.
I totally respect Jungkook for making any kind of music he chooses. He's a smart & super talented young man, will be such a waste if he doesn't explore different kinds of musical styles/genres. JK understands that new challenges will help him grow in his craft. We all say he's a good singer but he thinks he's still far from it (JK mentioned this again recently). I'm sure he's aware that some people may not enjoy Seven or 3D for various reasons but that won't stop him from trying out new music that he finds interesting or challenging. To be honest, I'm a little uncomfortable with the 3D rap portion but that does not stop me from enjoying the song or the dance choreo. I hope fans of k-pop artists will try to understand when their idols are making efforts in new things to reach a wider audience. I support Jungkook for making that effort.
He obviously hasn't lost his identity as a Korean, in literally EVERY live he does he's mentioning Korean foods, talks about events, Korean actors and singers, speaks in his natural language, and mentions festivals and important cultural events in Korea. He never lost his identity, the songs he released are to change an image. And the members were told to do whatever they wanted with their solo projects, if he likes English songs with lyrics like that, he does it, and he did.
Simply JK decided to go the POP direction. Does he lose his identity by doing this? No. Thats just who he is. He has always been influenced by pop music. Do i think he can do better when it comes to messaging? Of course. But thats what he wants to try right now. I dont like it. But that doesnt give me the right to judge. Its simply just not my taste. BUT MY BIAS IS STILL JK. Hahaha
You are a thoughtful person and I enjoy that. Yes, there is an original sound, but it only stays that way in communities which are homogeneous, with strong traditions and dominated by it's older citizens. As people open their eyes, ears and minds, stuff creeps in, and excites one with it's newness. Still, most artist, especially vocalist won't lose their original sound completely. Jungkook naturally came to an appreciation for the Western sound, after discovering America as a youth. He was fascinated with the US, when he came here for training, not only for the variety and culture, but I believe the level of freedoms here impressed him. In LA he'd be exposed to multiple languages, races and ethnicities. Then he returns to Korea and years of conformity living as an idols. As he helps BTS to forge a path towards history there would naturally be period of frustration and longing for the Western freedom. Along comes the pandemic and he's finally able to express aloud the longing for the crowds, but also the emotions he underwent as he met a diversity of fans globally. He's a romantic at heart, but also very flirtatious, and his ability to captivate people from different cultures would shape his young manhood. JK knew the power he has over others, but did not understand exactly why they desired him so much. K-pop is at once a very sexualized yet suppressive industry. Idols tease sexuality, feign innocence and offer fan service performance after performance. A 15 y/o in this environment is bound to desire the freedom to chart his own path. If that teen is naturally more talented than most, it's inevitable they'd devise a path to chart their own course. JK's path would inevitably return to America. He loves the challenge, is strong enough to overcome the obstacles and gentle enough to be accepted and respected by the industry. But, where does that leave fans whose bias is someone other than JK, envious. Envy, unchecked turns ugly. As Jungkook's fame grows the ugliness aimed at him increases. It's no longer limited to outside fandoms, now even professed Army are comfortable blaming him for their bias lack of equal success in the West. Still, Jungkook is loyal, loving, forgiving, and perceptive, he sees the issues. He's comfortable with himself and confident that his chosen path will bring him self-satisfaction, eventually. JK is the consummate perfectionist, always seeking to improve on what he did before. How frustrating for those who dislike him to watch him continue to improve and evolve. Enlistment will give some breathing space to him, the members and their fandom. Other idols will try to replace him, some may even gain a level of success, but the world will always compare them to JK. I don't know what the future will bring, but I do know that the fire in his belly will never be completely satisfied as 1 of 7. JK will keep pursuing solo activities until he can't do anything more. He's not done, and his fans will fight to make sure he always has the freedom to chart his path. They love him and want his happiness most of all.
Another great video! - Born and bred on continental Europe where walking the streets you hear languages from all over the planet. For an artist to sing in several languages is not uncommon and countries have more than 1 national language. Artists travel, evolve, experiment, develop their own signature which is why we might prefer one artist singing a certain song than another. BTS is diversifying, expanding and in doing so reaching and bringing back to their Korean roots audiences that might have never considered certain genres or song.I never thought I would one day appreciate BTS rap whilst still not understanding Korean. That's Korea's past, art and present becoming known, appreciated and loved. How we define ourselves is evolving: from village to nation and now to global. JK is only 25 and will continue to go through phases and evolve: it is healthy for him and enjoyable for us. Would anyone want to be stuck into the job position they had at 15?
BTS will be BTS but the members are doing the music they want. He offers alternative versions of every song so you don't have to listen to the explicit versions. This is the style he chose to go with so I'm totally respectful of the direction each member chose for their personal taste. I'm not crazy about the rap lyrics but JK's lyrics are covert and unless you go out of your way to look them up your not going to get it. Most urban dictionaries don't even have it right. lol
I like your nerdiness 💜. On the topic of the video, I don't like when people try to say someone is this or that and shouldn't be something else, honestly everyone should have the freedom to be whatever they want and explore. You don't like it? That's fine, we all have different tastes, but at least celebrate someone's evolution and the fact that is brave enough to try.
Arts are a living entity that tends to evolve in time and space... There is nothing worse than caging something that is growing and flourishing and try to mold it according to personal stereotypes. Artists give us their work as a gift, and it is our decision to accept or reject it. I really enjoy this side that JK and the rest of the BTS members are showing us, it is a pleasure to discover them as individuals and watch their growth.
Did BTS go too far by releasing full albums in Japanese tailored to Japanese tastes? Artists can and should have freedom to explore wherever they want. If Picasso only had his "blue period" he would have been seen as a great artist but not the amazing artist that experimented in so many ways that he captured the art world's imagination. Jungkook is 26 and has so many paths ahead of him. Those who need to box him or whine about his choices at this moment in time should simply step back and find satisfaction in the Jungkook of yore. Take the chip off your shoulder. He is an evolving artist and does not need your decalcomania. Remember he did sing about that on his birthday because you all needed to vent about his hair and tattoos. Sad.
Chapter 2 is for each member to explore what they are interested in doing. Thank you for your in-depth research and I learned a lot about music through history and through ethnicity. (I have enjoyed all of the members solo projects)
jungkook has pop rnb western vocals. which is why western producers and singers like to work with him. nothing wrong with it he can sing english perfectly thats his strong point. he can adopt to western music but it doesn;t mean he's losing his identity cos he also sings korean songs. in fact he's the only one who always sings korean songs in his karaoke live. evn other bts members don't sing pure korean songs they are english and korean lyrics combined. most kpop groups have english titles and english lyrics like bts
I v admire Juncook for experimenting with K-pop and Pop. Being the the youngest member of BTS he is finding his way to navigate as a solo performer to express himself l. A huge and brave task he is embarking on. Kudos to him for taking that step. 💜😊
In my opinion , there's nothing wrong about JK choice of targeting the western market. This is the time to explore their individuality as an artist before they reunite in 2025. KPOP should applaud what JK is doing he is paving the way for members of a group that they can explore their solo stuff and be successful. Besides I think he is destined to conquer the US market and beyond. They had a choice during their solo careers and didnt disappoint. His a Global PopStar.
Another well-thought-out essay, for which I thank you. I just wanted to add that, to me, accusations of "selling out" to the west reek of either jealousy and/or gate-keeping. I wanted to add that the US market, as well as being the largest music market in the world, is influenced by many different cultures, which often gets ignored. Hip hop began in NYC in black and hispanic communities. The Africans, European and Asian communities, all these affected different areas of the country and their regional music. So in a sense, American pon is already built on a global foundations.
I agree that some the hate is coming from different places. BTS become popular because they leaned into their language and culture in their music. Some didn't care and listened to their music and went to their concerts anyway. They all decided what they wanted to do for their solo projects. Jungkook choose to show a mature side to himself. I know, he understood how some people saw him, as 🐰 bunny. Some did see him turning into a man and now it's Infront of you. It's been there.. drinking a beer, tats, piercing, smoking, cursing sometimes. Remember how he joked about his parents and how he came to be 😁 fa la la ... He just wants to be free to just be himself like other people.
Traditional music information is interesting but popular music typically incorporates little of their countries core traditional sounds. BTS included traditional Korean instruments and clothing probably more than any other group, but it was to show aspects of their traditional Korean culture. BTS always spoke of how much they appreciated Korean and their culture. They never expected to become so global and so made little effect to learn much English except RM. so yes, BTS are still very Korean and proud to be.
I've nothing really to add because you summed it up very well. We've been global for a loooooong time. There always seems to be a core of people keeping their traditional roots alive (assuming it wasn't beat out of them during colonizations), so hopefully, those will coexist with today's melting pots of cultures. It's also important for people to know where they came from.
Am an Army even though am already in my 7th decade of life. My fav are JK n Suga. Congrats to your Vlog. I enjoy listening to your analysis of BTS story and SB19 Pablo Kumunoy.
I dont get why ppl are so mad about him singing in english or choosing these type of messaging and music. All Bts members arw musicians, artist. We all know from the beginning the love they have for music, they are passionate about it and they are not the type of ppl who let themselves be confined in one mold. This is Jungkook's way of exploring, let him be or how else would he grow. He didnt loose his identity, in fact, he is so proud of it. Him and all of the members have shown that for the past 10 years already.
As an Artis and musician...JK is not limit him self for tried another music and genres... That is call artis... Art is no limit....soo you can go further...
Love and relationships are UNIVERSAL... 🥰Jungkook said in his interview with Suga, that his entire album 'Golden' was about the ups and downs of love and relationships. So anyone complaining may want to consider rethinking their ideas and opinions regarding the choices Jungkook are making for his career. For, he is opening doors that are rarely opened LEGITIMATELY by any artist, even those in the US. I mean, honestly BTS should have a Grammy already. But for some reason like many other legitimate US artists, they don't have one. Hopefully, in 2025 Jungkook will get one for SEVEN or GOLDEN because it is well deserved. #LOVE_JungkookBTS
I don't understand why only for Jk there's a discussion. Aren't there a plenty of performances kpop always doing concerts around the world. What has Jk got to do with traditional music and culture, there's professionals who upholding the traditions supported by the government. Kpop is entertainment industry, they grow their business.
Like you I don’t care for the cussing so I listen to the clean version. JK is young. JK went to a faith-based school. So there might be some retaliation from that. It happens. We have to year the whole album so I can’t figure out why there is some negativity to the song.Jimin did a song that was different. The other band members were expected to do the type of music they chose. So why they pick on JungKook is weird. Now SUGA did a great job introducing the Haegeum! I found that quite interesting.
It is true Haegum was quite interesting! Even if it is not an English song without collab with American singers, I like it! I listen various musics and I'm not a kpop songs stan but I will keep it my playlist with "Through the night"of IU.
Thanks so much for presenting such a good analysis of our global connectivity thru art and music. Growing up on the world stage has allowed JK to meet so many artists of different cultures. I'm wondering if it's more the subject matter of his latest releases and not the language itself that has so many people in a tizzy. I agree with you in giving a listen to the clean or alternate version of these songs before throwing accusations of him " selling out". Jungkook is a young man exploring all different avenues open to him. Let's keep an open mind and anxiously await is album release in November.
Lets be honest. There are a lot of people who have an ASIAN FETIsh. Those people consume KPop because is "EXOTIC". The moment the artist start to become global (western market)they lost interest , bacause is not exotic anymore. If the songs are in japanese , nobody says nothing bacause is still exotic. AM I wrong?
I believe the music JK is singing is just proof that JK and BTS by extension, should not be put into a box such as Kpop and not just mainstream whatever it is, such as Hip-Hop, Rap, Jazz Pop, Rock or R&B. They are all musicians with talent in all genres of music. Just because they are Asian does not mean we should exclude the music they produce because of where they come from. Now, I don't like the Rap in 3D, but there is a clean version as with Seven, and both songs prove the talent and skill the JK has. JK and the producers have catered to all listeners. It just goes to show and prove that music transcends all cultures. I am so impressed and proud of the individual talent of all seven members. We have been spoilt by BigHit in the personal content that has been out, so there are all sorts of unreal expectations from fans now they are producing their solo acts. The fact that JK sings in English shows that he's listening to his fans. I love all, whether Korean or English. Talent overload. He has just begun and will improve as the years go on. I sense jealousy, but so what? JK is a talented and skilful individual as well as his members. But also remember Bang Si-Huk has been with him all the way. Do you think he doesn’t know what he is doing?
Jeon Jungkook is global, an international artist, so far beyond kpop, he is the main pop boy, the artist with the most mainstream appeal. True artists evolve and grow and Jungkook want's to try all genres of music, he has the talents and the voice to do so, a versatile singer, performer he fits and suits all styles of music. Jungkook is free to do whatever he likes in his own solo career. We love and support his works
Thank you for this. I am from the Bahamas and one of the most popular Bahamian songs to go global was who let the dogs out. We were were proud of this as a country because we can hear the Bahamian in it. The other music that we love from Bahamian artists are still loved very much. Also, even among our artists we can hear the influences of other cultures ( primarily western) in the older bs younger artists. 💜🇧🇸
i love the music jk is doing now. only people with closed mind, with malicious intent that commented negatively and maybe jealous of his success. let them be and thanks for the explanation. that enriches me on a lot of things that evolution happens around us. pls keep on doing this.
Hi, Thank you for all of your reactions. I really appreciate the research and effort you put into every reaction you post . JK said in one of his lives that he prefers to talk in Korean because English is very difficult. In my opinion, learning about Korean culture from BTS and from their music and all the content they provide for us, they have to work very hard at all levels with their music to entertain us. The people behind the scenes must also work hard to help them provide their fans with the finished product . BORAHEA 💜
I really don't get it why people - who pretend to be fans - are complaining about their artists artistical choice. If you happen to dislike a song from him than just don't listen to it and return to the songs you like, but leave him alone, he has all the rights to evolve and to try out new genres, sing a "western" song - whatever you think that is. For me a song is either good or bad, doesn't matter which language is it sung. Instead of complaining people should appreciate his efforts. First of all it is not an easy task to sing in a language that you don't dominate. It's not just pronunciation but also you need to be able to transmit the same emotions with the song, and JK did that so extremely well. I'm not a native English speaker either and I know that this requires so much practice and I admire him a great deal for it. Another thing that annoys me about this whole "selling out and too westernized" comments is, that all these years I've been listening to BTS sing in Korean - a language I have zero knowledge of, it never crossed my mind - oh this is too Eastern music should I just quit, because they don't sing in my Language... Millions of non-Korean speaking international ARMY were reading subtitles and search the internet for lyrics explanations to understand the cultural references and wordplays and just accept the fact that we'll never be able to comprehend 100% RM's intellect...but still loving every second of each of their songs. So if 1 or all the members decide to start singing in Chinese or Hindi - I'll be there to listen to the art they put out, because they still be BTS.
Hi thank you for your explanation on BTS MEMBERS. I Hate the fact the very few people who is not open minded is making the fandom seem so toxic. and this is where as the bible say a house divided cannot stand. true army has to voice more positive opinion and when in doubt fans like you and a few others help the ones that are less knowledgeable about the things. i must say thanks to you. i am not a fan of explicit music and songs that does not carry much meaning. a fun song is ok like butter and dynamite. but some songs i don't like whether it is from K-pop rap or r&b. so thank you for making so much clear i even appreciate your explanation on what fans or stans or non fans are saying about V BEEN MISTREATED BY THE COMPANY. YES IT MIGHT LOOK THAT WAY BUT YOUR EXPLANATION MAKES MORE SENSE. WE LOVE BTS AND WE CONSIDER THEM TO BE Intelligent but then we want to treat them as if they are ignorant which makes no sense. so thanks. for enlighten me. i join bts in the butter ERA AND I HAVE BEEN IN THE RABBIT HOLE SINCE. and i think i have consume about 70% of their catalog include run bts and bon voyage and music and solos etc. and i grow to love them i sometimes i forget i was not with them from the beginning. anyway. JK IS young and he is trying new things and he wants to experience different sound. and as a main leader singer in bts. he has to experiment so he can do well when he return. he hand V has the least experience in the world to me. and as JK ONCE SAID HE DONT WANT TO GO TO vocal training so they train his voice a certain way he wants his vocals to be open to different styles and versatility. and the experience he gain will make him a better person musical or as human. i am an adult in my fifties so maybe why i understand and the younger fans. don't or maybe some people stuck in the mold they refuse to think outside the box. this is why we love bts they not trapped in any mold or boxes they are diverse and this is why we like them. this is why they were able to cross boundary. but as human we forget. thank you again have a wonderful day until next time.
I don't care what others think, with all due respect, I just think that JK and the other members are totally amazing, no matter what they sing, dance etc they are and will always be BTS, they may sing what ever they choose to, PERIOD!
The extensive reactions below show that this topic draws peoples attention. Again, you make it clear in your video that before you criticize you have to delve into a subject. People criticize without moral, cultural, social and historical awareness. An artist, in this case a musician, indeed grows by trying out new directions. Singing in another language (for various reasons) might be one of them. Again delve into his or her kind of music. One album with English songs doesn’t make the artist Western. His roots and personality won’t change overnight.
I don't think JK will lose his identity - the 10 years of bonding and togetherness with his brothers has stronly cemented their relationship. As popular as JK is right now, he always has time to talk about missing the other members and looking forward to coming back together again and that day will be "da bomb" (can't wait). I think JK is trying other genres before he enters the military because time is short; the ladt four BTS members who haven't joined the military are packing their activities and schedules together because time is of the essence, there's only 2 months before conscription, which i think is so unfair.
Thank you for this very educational music tour from then to now and from all major players in the music industry . As always you have the facts and from there you give your valued opinion. I very much agree with what you said . On this light the song Imagine by John Lennon came to mind. One world . We Are The World by Michael Jackson and friends. If this ideology would come true, there will be no more wars. There is only human beings being brothers living in the same planet. That in effect would be Paradise on Earth. Pretending to have distinction is blazè. We are all one in the end.
this is his choice i respect it to do a western album he fits him the most he and rm they are the best ones with english pronoution and he will be idiot if he doesnt take this chance to win his korean and international fans because if he made korean album he dont satisfy the others like japonaise chineise and american market
why question jungkook's choices anyway? army support all OT7. they experiment, they try to develop and grow. if they stayed in their skool era, that wouldn't be wise, coz they're growing up. and i think they wouldnt be the bangtan they are now if they didn't evolve. Let him fly.
JK is experimenting with his solo musical journey that is different with what he used to sing with BTS. Maybe he just wants to tell his fans that he is grown up and not that innocent maknae anymore. That is why he agreed to sing songs with sexual innuendoes and even bared his chest to project a sexy image. He was photographed smoking and admitted that he likes alcohol. These for me speaks of somebody who wants to get out of his shell and prove to everybody that he is a normal 26 year old. He has earned that right after being with BTS for the past 13 years. He is trying to find his footing as an artist and as a human being. Let him be.
Jk songs do have a message. Seven talks of a loving consenting romantic and sexual relationship going through some conflict. The woman is mad at the man but still sees him everywhere in her mind. In 3d, jk again reiterating the same consensual relationship. harlows part is about how he used to behave and the change in him is evident at the end. Sex is talked about in such unbearably pornographic ways in western songs. Jk has been respectful even in explicit versions. I think army are missing the bts style and sound but we shouldn't restrict an artist from trying new things. Jk is such a darling person who cares so much for army. Its sad that people are judging him instead of trusting him.
It's a sin that his dancesc in the songs tell a whole other story: dance ad lyrics together speak exclusuvely about the lower part of bodies in all known ways, roughly aggressively. 3D is the exactly description of a porn mouvie. There is no trace of love or tenderness. This is my opinion.
that sounds so racist if said like that. Isn't music a language of the soul which can reach and be touch by anyone who can relate. This artist is just expanding his talent, skill and love for music.
There is a reason some people have left the western music artists and began listening to BTS and K-Pop. So it is difficult to see an artist move more towards being like the western music industry. They should not be attacked for it. Doesn’t mean they don’t love the artists anymore. Just not a fan of those particular songs. The BTS full English songs are easier to listen to because it is still BTS alone and contain a bright message. These songs you are referring to contain western artists and the last one had rap lyrics who for some disrespect women. Didn’t we move on from calling women chicks many years ago… Do people even understand what THOTs means? Representing the idea that one woman is boring and not enough is triggering to many women. So if nothing else, I hope people realize that some people have very valid reasons for not being a fan of some songs. And that is ok and not disrespectful. The important thing is everyone be kind and respectful.
This is very well said and exactly where the problem lies. The issue isn't about cultural identity. That isn't the backlash. I also don't think the response is "hate" at all and I'm disappointed that term is being used to label the genuine concerns being expressed. JK and BigHit are catering to the western music industry and this industry has a horrible track record of destroying young musicians in particular. You don't have to look far to see how the messages of western singers get darker and more negative over time and it is difficult seeing JK catering. Instead I would hope that he would figure out a way to use his incredible talents to make inroads without starting down that same path. Look at his dancing and the team of dancers working with him. Highest quality in the world, then you get lyrics that brings it all down. In my opinion he doesn't need to sacrifice the positive human message BTS has been committed to while branching out and doing his own thing. He says he loves Army, but the feature in 3D, as you point out, is really disrespectful as you point out. Being "adult" doesn't mean being crass. Being "sexy" doesn't mean being degrading. The "f word" as a word expressing extreme anger should make JK realize it is not a term used in a loving relationship no matter what the language. I don't think audiences and the public's response would lessen if JK elevated his lyrics and the lyrics of his features. He can still be clever and sexy and would reach even more people. In fact I think it would highlight his incredible talent even more without the distractions. I don't think the members of BTS realize that their team, especially those that write the lyrics for the BTS music, is so much more talented and skilled than pretty much any songwriting team worldwide. Maybe once they recognize this they will take ideas from other songwriters and put their genius spin on it to elevate what they are given. As you said, so many people, especially young people, have left western music for BTS and K-pop for a reason and it is difficult to see JK go backwards and compromise, just to cater to the western music industry.
@@maryr1905JK going “backwards”? How very self righteous of you, to think that you, has the right to determine what is good enough, virtuous enough, for a Korean man of 26 years old, old enough to have his own family, you never met? You are a consumer of his and his group’s music. His own family, both by blood and by BTS is cheering him on for embracing a self expression most of them have been denied when with the group because of the unrealistic expectations and projections from people like you. But you think YOU are righteous enough to be the arbitrator of what is “forward”? Know your place. Check yourself. If you don’t like what you see or hear, there are PLENTY OF KPOP GROUPS and various Disney musicals for you to choose from. Move on. Stop preaching.
It would be nice if you listened to what Jungkook wants in stated of having a opinion. Jungkook stated he wants to easily move between kpop and pop. He wants to try all styles of music. He doesn't want to be limited to one styles . He wants to grow as artists .
Yes, this is exactly my opinion. People move away from western pop for a reason and if you’re a mature fan, not liking JK’s two latest songs has everything to do with tastes and preferences, not hate. I don’t like these songs because I don’t like western pop, that’s all. Doesn’t mean I like JK any less as an artist or won’t listen to his music. On the contrary, I still listen to My Time and Begin all the time. But if his album is like the two singles I will not listen to it because I just don’t enjoy this type of sound. I still think he’s crazy talented and I respect his choices to experiment with different styles and sounds. I think it’s a good thing because we all need to continue to grow in our own way. And maybe 10 years from now I’ll come to like western pop sound and will gladly listen to these songs. But I will listen to music I actually enjoy. I’m not an Army who only likes projects solely because it’s done by BTS members. If I don’t like something I will not pretend to like it just cuz it was done by JK, or RM, or any of the other boys.
He's doing what he want's to do don't pigeon hole him he's an artist he can do what HE wants to do. WE don't get to indicate what HE wants to do. oh he's South Korean and should only be in the Kpop box errrm no first and foremost he's an artist don't confine him into a box because of his primary langauge or that he's part of the kpop industry. BTS and it's memeber's while being part of Kpop are more than Kpop. Kpop only started in the late 90's it's not traditional Korean Popular Music it's Idol music not taken that serious in South Korea either. Artist's should not be placed into little boxes they should be able to explore and do whatever they want with their music just like every other artist.
I think the problem is the content of the messages in the lyrics, not the type/genre of music. BTS has stated that after they were called out for having misogynistic lyrics (War of Hormone etc) they now run them by professors of women’s studies to make sure they are not putting out offensive or degrading messages (towards women). A lot of us westerners fell in love with BTS because of the depth of their messages and also because they weren’t putting out trash music like so many western artists do. I also believe that whatever the members do as soloists reflects back on BTS’s reputation and character overall. At the end of the day they can do whatever they want, but it’s sad to see the trashy messaging being given a green light.
Jk songs do have a message. Seven talks of a loving consenting relationship and sex is part of it. In 3d, jk again reiterating the same. harlows part is about how he used to behave and the change in him is evident at the end. Sex is talked about in such unbearably pornographic ways in western songs. Jk has been respectful even in explicit versions.
Going to far? No. Only those who can't stand an Artist wanting to try different things thinks so! Only those who can't handle an Artist doing different Artistic freedoms are so closed minded that they just don't get the bigger picture. If you can't handle an Artist doing a change from what your used to......STOP LISTENING TO THAT ARTIST!!!! Trust me, you won't be missed. Millions of others will appreciate what the Artist is doing
I really believe the two rappers in Seven and in 3D are not contributing in anything, but I really think JK and Hybe or BigHit or Bang Si Hyuk thought about those collabs for a reason we wont know, and its ok to me. I enjoy both songs a lot. JK's voice, the choreos, the videos. They are great.
(No offense but…) Your THUMBNAIL is FAR FROM the majority of your CONTENT. Such a clickbait… You do incredible research, but this could have really been such a 5-7minute video in relation to the thumbnail, or change your thumbnail. It’s misleading for a viewer 😔. I do agree with you though that JK 3D did NOTHING WRONG. There’s just a persona people got fixed with. AGUST D has curses 🤬 all over his D-DAY and that was okay. Now that JK is finally living his life for someone like Beiber, Spears, Lohan who grew up on camera with minimal privacy, he’s wrong? For someone who’s exploring his mature side, his videos are actually artistically mild. Almost all explicit western videos are nearly p*rn with twerks and all. How can a person grow up when everyone’s treating him like he’s their own property? Wholesome FAITH & VALUES? There’s an entire genre, stations, and even popular artists for that.
if you listen to bts’ old music the content of some of the songs are pretty explicit. their very first albums are pretty much rap/hip hop music which is a genre that was popularized in the west (mainly by African Americans) so i just don’t understand why people are acting like bts have always made some type of “family friendly” pop music when that really isn’t the case at all. really this just shows that all the people who say they miss bts old music are lying
I like the beat and melody of 3D. It's really catchy. I just can't stand the lyrics. They're cringey af and lack substance. That's the part that I don't like. Jungkook's delivery and the production are saving this song. I'd still dance to it.
To me, JK is a track guy not a lyric guy so he seems to be missing how vulgar and/or misogynistic the lyrics are messaging in English. Plus, he may be confusing being a grown man with being explicit. US producers are telling him how great the songs sound by US standards. The music sounds good. The vocals sound good. The lyrics…BTS spoiled me. I miss their class and respectful lyrics toward women.
I don’t think he sold out.. I just don’t like the music he’s putting out. He’s doing what he wants.. he wants to be Justin Bieber. Good for him for doing what he wants. Doesn’t mean everyone has to like the product he is putting out though
i think BTS and Hybe and also many other kpop artist want to have succes in the US and sometimes you need to play along to gain a foothold. I agree i dont like all the sexy talk in those US songs that is why i like BTS but i dont enjoy the typical kpop sound witch to me sounds more experimental. they tend to throw in some "han" or some random sounds to make it seem diffrent. but what it does it take away all the melodies and you are left with just sound that you would hear at a rave or rockconcert. and that is attractive to many too. but when you work and are with family most people want to hear something melodic and nice. and I think BTS has been amazing at mixing korean kpop and western sounds and they have been doing this from the beginning. remember who the the rappers was inspired by? JK has the traditional pop sound that fits really well with modern pop music and Hybe and bighit and also JK wanted to use that to gain more fans in the US besides JK loves that music and it is also very popular in korea. that is also the reason why the new gg like NJ is gaining popularity because people can hear how diffrent they are. they are really casual and not to flashy and their image is toned down and that is really popular in the west. Hybe has always said they aim for longevity in the west now that BTS has paved the way and made a name for themself it is the perfect time to merge things together. But BTS will never be JUST western music or kpop they so what they always have. his two new single was for the American market but the rest of his album will be in korean i am sure. also more meaningful songs BTS is known for. idk if V´s album was all that insightful. since we dont know if he has dated and broken up with anyone and if he had anything to say about the lyrics. but all of the rest is really personal songs. and the astronaut was made for jin to army.
In a way I believe that is not the point. If you concentrate on the artist JK, ofc he has his Korean identity and acts according to that. The question is whether that really is the kind of music he likes and wants to present as his solo activities. Maybe it is, maybe not. If so, I would be very disappointed in him and could only hope it is a transitional stage as you claim. How much control do artists really have about their work? Bang has talked about the necessity for Kpop to expand in order to survive, how small their share in the music market really is, the competition with other kinds of music (i.e. latin music). After all we live in a certain kind of economic system. And it is the system I mistrust. I am not saying, JK (or V) are used, how could I say that? It just seems very convenient that they publish songs which are loved by the mainstream and bring in a lot of revenue and attention. Songs that are very different compared to what we love from BTS. You know much more about pop, the music scene, the music industry than I. I was never interested before BTS and know I have a very limited perspective. Btw I wished I had as positive a view on "progress" and "global culture" as you. But that would be another very different discussion.
Why are you making commercial success a sin? BTS composed of SEVEN different people. Why would their solo albums sound like BTS? If they all sound the same individually as they are in a group, that would make them an average kpop group. Instead of a global super band.
I support good music/ art… i agree artist’s inevitably has to experiment… I respect that. But these recent releases are clearly commercially driven, hence the many remixes. And since I do not think it’s good… I will pass…
One more thing… unconditionally supporting your idol song/ songs for name sake and potential does not really brings the intended result of experimenting… just saying. You guy’s just inflating the idol’s ego and not helping.
Who at BigHit, or should I say HYBE, is giving the ok to Jack Harlow's filthy mind and mouth. I see scooter braun's sick mind all over this. What is HYBE trying to make Jungkook into? Jungkook's part is basically good, especially the bridge. Is he in training to be a nasty, western, pop star? BTS solos - RM wrote & sang and rapped introspection, philosophical. Jin had tuna and Coldplay. Suga wrote and rapped about haters and rough times, getting through it. J-hope wrote and rapped about how important music and dance is to him. Jimin sang about being free from insecurities. V sang about love and longing. Jungkook, so far, it's just about SEX. Why is Jungkook being USED like this. From what I've seen of his BTS personality, explicit sex songs aren't his thing. He's being USED by HYBE to increase their bottom line. All who are into KPop are aware of how companies manage their groups/ members. HYBE is not BigHit. There are other voices in play now. Jungkook, in interviews, says the right things - I selected the song, the addition of Jack Harlow made the song better, etc. He has to say those things, he's not going to slam his efforts. Remember, Jungkook is a professional and has been doing what he is told since he was 15. He knows he has to do what he has to do. Jungkook didn't write any of the lyrics, he states he selected the song. However, I don't believe HE actually did, I personally believe the HYBE amalgamation did. Yes, Jungkook is a grown man but from what we are aware of from his public stage persona he would not be comfortable choosing Seven and 3D, he was assigned them in order to be more popular with Western audiences, specifically teens and young adults. In my opinion, those that believe Jungkook would be drawn to sexually explicit songs just because he is 26 are naive. Go back and look at the songs Jungkook actually had a hand in writing, under BigHit (not HYBE) and as an adult. I also don't believe sexually explicit songs are a genre. So, when Jungkook mentions he wants to explore musically different genres (i.e. Blues, Country, KPop, Opera, Reggae, Jazz, Pop, etc), I don't think sexually explicit songs were what he was referring or had in mind. Don't just go along with loving all things BTS just because they are BTS. Seven and 3D are mostly enjoyable songs but are throwaway songs. JUNGKOOK IS BEING USED! I am defending Jungkook hard because he is better than what they are giving him to sing. He deserves better than throwaway crap. If his songs continue in this vein, people will recall his solo career was just SEX, they won't remember his genuine talent.
I already wrote about this channel when SEVEN came out. My 1st marriage was to a toxic sexually aggressive man. It lasted 2 years. I will never forget the humiliation, pain and terror behind closed doors. I've been a Army devotee for several years now. I found my lost self-esteem in BTS. I was learning to love myself and my femininity again. I love everything connected with BTS, I admire their work in the solo period. The transformation of JK is a nightmare for me. He opened all my wounds and poured salt into them - I won't tell him. The second pain is his rejection of people who do not want vulgarity and lasciviousness in the song. Is he rejecting the army? He never did... It doesn't help to listen only to the pure version when you already have the vulgar version in your mind. I overcame it, worked on my psyche a lot. And 3D came out... I'm happy for the version without the vulgar rapper and I quite like 3D - JK asks if he can and is respectful to the woman, perhaps... I don't mind the song, but the vulgarity which is okay for JK? Does he not understand the difference between lovemaking and shu...?? He understands, unfortunately...
I felt the same as you, similar experience. Every time he says the f..word I feel a punch in the stomach i can't even now listen that song. And what about 3D? NO WORDS! The coreographie is even worse than the lyrics. Can't watch. Aggressive, arrogant , porn-dance. Disrespectful, humiliating, and so on. Can't bear so I decided to not listen at all for my mental wellbeing. I really can't understand how most of the people don't get offended.
@@bee12117 then? Can't anyone say their opinion? At least there are reasons to dislike and people tell them. What are instead the reason why people find these songs masterpieces? Someone tell me that they sing loud the lyrics not feeling imbarrassed or confortably. People listen to them always and look around hoping nobody notice
I have an argument/ question for you fellow ARMYs. Don't fight or be rude to anyone. Just want to hear your thoughts. Jungkook making a Pop album to fulfill his goal of being a pop star is valid but is it fair for self ceritified pop songs to enter Kpop award shows? On the flipside, is it fair for self certified pop song to be nominated as Kpop by Billboard just because JK also happens to be a Kpop star. What do you think ?
The entry in Korean or Asian award show is by Korean artist. The artist is getting the award. In that case, We ARMYs shouldn’t complain if American award shows doesn’t acknowledge the Korean songs. They shouldn’t be charting in bb100 bb200, etc. Americans should only consider English song to chart and get awarded in the US . Same goes for other countries too. If it’s not in their native language should they consider songs from other nationalities.
I think it’s natural for him to try western sounds and western pop. He’s an artist and exploring is only natural. I definitely believe there are still sounds and characteristics that are unique to a specific culture, even after that sound has evolved through the years. It’s in the small nuances, the instrumentals, its hard to explain. Having said that Western pop is not for me, I never liked it and probably never will. So both Seven and 3D I did not like at all for this very simple reason.
He has gone the western ways. That’s why Korean must keep their culture& heritage which belongs to them. This will make then unique. Korean mixed with English songs are unique. Western hardly copy these type of songs. Not only Korean but Japanese etc.
My communication skills need work, so I hope people will forgive me if I'm a little all over the place and lacking in eloquence. It never occurred to me to consider it as losing an identiy for JK to make these songs. Honestly, I considered it the safe choice, which is, I think, why I found it so disappointing. As you mentioned in your video, the west, specifically the US, is the largest music market. Singling in English and collaborating with viral pop stars is a safe business choice, if not an artisticly challenging one. I suppose it's new for JK in that BTS doesn't have very many "commerical," songs. (Their commerical songs are their English songs. I don't think that's a coincidence & I'd bet there are very few fans who would pick those songs as favorites. ) Perhaps he finds it challenging to present himself as a sexual being, or just doing songs as a soloist. I don't know. I've mentioned before that it's not the content of the songs I have a problem with, (mostly) it's the quality. I view them as being very replaceable. Neither song has staying power. I'm not even sure if they'd fall into the nostalgia category one day that a lot of 90s pop songs did. Maybe I'm just old. I delayed getting into BTS bc I originally thought they'd be "just another boy band," and now I'm kicking myself for that one bc their music is so much more than the 90s boy bands I grew up with. It is disappointing to me to have JK make these sort of cliche type songs as his solo project. If I wanted a Justin Beiber type song, I'd listen to Justin Beiber, (which I don't). ARMY knows JK has fantastic vocals and can probably make anything sound good. I was really interested to see if he'd try something totally out of the box the way J-Hope did, or go super personal like Yoongi, but we got commercial pop and Jack Harlow. A mediocre artist who has gone viral, so he's a safe business choice, but isn't anything particularly special. (I won't be looking up Jack's other work the way I did with Paul Blanco after Namjoon's album.) Maybe it's another case of JK forgetting he's famous. There are probably a lot of hip-hop artists who'd be happy to collab with him, but he picked the mediocre white boy. It's a personal bias, but Jack gives me the ick. I don't know how else to put it. I hear him & think of every college F boy that tried to get in my pants & I just can't do it. It's the creepy guy at the club or party getting in my space and not accepting the polite "no." Just something about his voice does that for me. Could I just listen to the alternate version? Sure, but I cannot unhear that first time that gave me a lingering case of ick. Just like I associate "Seven" with the MV, so I can't listen to the song. (Seven likely would have grown on me just like Dynamite did if I hadn't had a trauma response to the MV-maybe with more time) I associate 3D with Jack Harlow and can't do it. Again, maybe with more time I'll get over it. I realize this is my personal taste and doesn't reflect who JK is as an artist or person, but it does make me side-eye his judgement. This is the first time I am not pre-ordering a solo project because I am questioning whether I'll like it. IT's a new feeling as a pandemic ARMY and I don't like it. Lol. As always, I appreciate your deeper analysis and critical thinking. You challenge me to dust off my own critical thinking skills. 🤗
Just singing in English doesn't make you lose your identity. As I find the English lyrics from 3D, ecpecially form Jack Harlow, misogynistic I won't listen to it again. Never. I won't buy the album which features the song. I don't watch anything realted to that. I've got the releases of six other members that I thoroughly enjoy. I think it's a shame as Jungkook was my bias and I love his voice and I was waiting for soooo long for that goddamn album.. But I can't bring myself to support anything that has 3D with Jack Harlow on it.. And I don't care if that makes me less an Army
Wonderfully said .. I said the same "if you don't like his music, move on and let the man do his thing"👍👍👍
Jungkook said he wants to be able to travel between kpop and pop. He wants to try all styles of music. That is how a artist grows. It would be nice if fans listen to want he says.
Nothing wrong with using many music styles. You go Jung Kook!!!!!!! You growing and maturing.
thank you. voices of reason are much appreciated. i am Army; i love BTS; i love the solo projects; JK has a unique amazing voice.
So just my music two cents.
share with us some of your music. do you have anything uploaded somewhere?
i agree... i used to question the incorporation of english words or terms in filipino songs, it didn't strike me as original pilipino music. but i grew up. and so did my choices in music. and ive opened my eyes to the world. it doesn't mean that a song written in full native language is original, or a song written in english is a western identity. far from it. i've heard some of the best songs written in both english and filipino, and even bisaya or cebuano, two of the other major languages in the philippines. music transcends language, and that is what i've also learned while listening to BTS. it doesn't matter what language a song is written in; the important aspect is the message and the melody. the music of the Hawaiian and Pacific islands also bring me to my safe and peaceful place. :) Mahalo.
If you cant just find a new idol who will suit your taste no need to spread hate.
his Solo songs is Written and Produced by AMERICAN INDUSTRY (HYBE AMERICA) Scooter's company
its NOT just an ENGLISH SONG...
its WESTERN/AMERICAN song.
its not asian/kpop.
Filipino sing and write ENGLISH song ..its called OPM .. original pinoy music .. ORIGNAL MEANS
written and produced by filipino Industry
So.
@@m8p499 you talking about covers , im talking about album. the video is talking about HIS DEBUT SONGs Album.
you meantioned ENGLISH ..
i mean ENGLISH all singers around the world can sing in english.
your talking about language ,
im talking about music INDUSTRY ..
and jungkook's ALBUM is manage by Scooter's team (HYBE AMERICA)
yes , its pop not Kpop.
So true
He choose the best way to get back at the western entertainment industry, just being proud of him!
Hahaha
Jungkook stated he wants to try all different styles of music. So he is starting with pop.
He's a musician, he's making music that resonates with him, what's everybody's problem?
That's fine, we all have different tastes, but at least celebrate someone's evolution and the fact that is brave enough to try.
i kid you not, i literally smiled when you called me a nerd. I am feeling giddy 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜
@@AsianEntertainmentandCulture I said it in the best way possible 🤗
@@mora5146 you accomplished your mission 🫡
. black American (western music) Hip hop and R&b: blues, soul, gospel etc etc is VERY original….and I’m proud that BTS appreciates it
Arts are a living entity that tends to evolve in time and space...
He said wanted conquer all genres.he just sang it for holyweird audience since he didnt write the song but he killing it coz he is great singer
jungkook has pop rnb western vocals. which is why western producers and singers like to work with him. nothing wrong with it he can sing english perfectly thats his strong point. he can adopt to western music but it doesn;t mean he's losing his identity cos he also sings korean songs. in fact he's the only one who always sings korean songs in his karaoke live. evn other bts members don't sing pure korean songs they are english and korean lyrics combined. most kpop groups have english titles and english lyrics like bts
Watching your channel is always a learning experience.
I predict JK will delve into Latin music next. He loves all music and he’s good at it so more power to him 💜
Love and relationships are UNIVERSAL...
AM I wrong?
YES! I just posted a comment saying this!
100% agree......well said
Jeon Jungkook is global, an international artist, so far beyond kpop, he is the main pop boy, the artist with the most mainstream appeal.
JK said he wants to experiment with different genres. He's an artist, so he should be allowed the freedom to try new things and grow
i love the music jk is doing now. only people with closed mind, with malicious intent that commented negatively and maybe jealous of his success. let them be and thanks for the explanation. that enriches me on a lot of things that evolution happens around us. pls keep on doing this.
Kpop is a patch up job of western pop. It isn’t in a position to complain about originality.
JUNGKOOK IS A SUPERSTAR. and some people don’t want to understand that. JK voice is for everyone now, not only for some.
Totally agree!
Absolutely right!
BORAHEA 💜
diversity is important if you want to explore.
3D now #1 on Global Spotify!🎉
A good singer must adopt and learn to sing a song globally
I think western must also do the same
The extensive reactions below show that this topic draws peoples attention.
His roots and personality won’t change overnight.
aren’t you proud that JK is into different. genres? sooooo proud of him. Go JK discover the world of music as the language of our soul
We are all one in the end.
this is his choice i respect it to do a western album he fits him the most he and rm they are the best ones with english pronoution and he will be idiot if he doesnt take this chance
to win his korean and international fans because if he made korean album he dont satisfy the others
like japonaise chineise and american market
why question jungkook's choices anyway? army support all OT7. they experiment, they try to develop and grow. if they stayed in their skool era, that wouldn't be wise, coz they're growing up. and i think they wouldnt be the bangtan they are now if they didn't evolve.
Let him be.
yessss!!!! rightly so!!!! the world is evolving!!!!
This is my opinion.
freedom!!!!!’
that sounds so racist if said like that.
I think both of you must be listening to a different “Seven” and “3D” than the one I am listening to.
Also when the BTS Rappers Rap are they gone too far West or when BTS use Rock or R&B or EDM have they sold out (Completely gone Western)?
Why can't he do both????
I really believe the two rappers in Seven and in 3D are not contributing in anything, but I really think JK and Hybe or BigHit or Bang Si Hyuk thought about those collabs for a reason we wont know, and its ok to me. I enjoy both songs a lot. JK's voice, the choreos, the videos. They are great.
Yes......agree
100% yes
American market is not yet open minded! It is a good choice for Hybe to use collabs with Anerican singers 👍🏽
Very much agree. I actually think they took away from the songs. I would have just preferred JK only.
(No offense but…)
Your THUMBNAIL is FAR FROM the majority of your CONTENT. Such a clickbait…
You do incredible research, but this could have really been such a 5-7minute video in relation to the thumbnail, or change your thumbnail.
100% agree
if you listen to bts’ old music the content of some of the songs are pretty explicit. their very first albums are pretty much rap/hip hop music which is a genre that was popularized in the west (mainly by African Americans) so i just don’t understand why people are acting like bts have always made some type of “family friendly” pop music when that really isn’t the case at all. really this just shows that all the people who say they miss bts old music are lying
THANK YOU!
I hope that JK songs without collab with american singers will be well accepted as Dynamite....
I miss BTS as they used to rap about inspiring themes that made them great. JK's collab with sleazy Western rappers is gross and disappointing.
Jungkook stated he wants to try different styles of music. So he is starting with pop. So respect. This is how artists grow
Kpop is “western ways”
No siento emoción.
Ok....you can go .....you free to go.....😅.
Jungkook is truly the most embarrassing members of BTS.
He should go an live his western dream and leave BTS.
But your v loves him so much . So go fly a kite. Your opinion doesn’t matter.
